I really enjoyed my stay here. Checking in was a breeze and the staff was friendly and helpful. The lobby area was very classy, well decorated and comfortable.

I found the room to be clean, quiet and spacious. It had lots of natural light, high ceilings with a mini-fridge and office area, the beds were comfortable and all the furniture was very modern.

The parking was free, had a locking gate as well as night security, I felt very confident with my vehicle there overnight.

I would highly recommend!

Decent location, just 15 min walk to China town and the trains. Really enjoyed the free parking, other hotels we were looking at were charging 40+ a day for onsite parking.

A little outdated, but overall a decent clean hotel.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It's a little ways from downtown, but just a quick bus ride from shopping and museums, and the bus stop is right across the street. It's also only 1/2 a mile from the trains. The location also gave me the opportunity to see new parts of the city, like Chinatown. Free parking was awesome. Bed was comfortable and staff were friendly. If you want a hotel right on the mag mile this hotel might not be for you, but if you're looking for a comfortable, affordable place that's a quick ride to all the Chicago attractions consider staying at the South Loop Hotel!

Second time, Can't wait for the Third. THis is my hotel I stay when I'm in Chicago. Quick Lyft ride to downtown. I was even randomly selected to be the GUEST OF THE DAY this last visit which was very cool. I got a nice gift. Staff always go above and beyond with service. Makes ya feel special when you stay here. Not many places can say that these days! SOUTH LOOP!!

The there rooms are nice and fairly clean. The Lobby and elevator smell so strong of perfume like flower smell you can taste it if you breathe through your mouth. And trust me you have to breathe through your mouth the smell is so disgusting it makes me wonder what they're covering up. The walls of the hotel are very thin I can hear people in the hall walking by I can also hear people outside walking by.

The place is older which I could have forgiven if it weren't for the rude housekeeping staff. The front desk people were nice. Housekeeping had an attitude and one woman kept knocking on our door even though there was a DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door. WTH??? I have NEVER not left a tip on my last day at a hotel before... But the housekeeping staff were just either clueless or straight up rude.

Would be a nice hotel if parking was for people who rent rooms and not the patrons of the bar Cant get parking because they told me first come first serve and also if you are looking for a quiet hotel this is the place during the week not the weekend the bar is crowded and they spill into the hotel and they smoke weed drink have sex in the elevator and again take all the parking so if your into all that then this is the spot for the weekend Oh let me not forget the parties in the rooms but during the week is real quiet

Has nice large rooms and friendly staff. However, so many things are out of order.
The fitness center is very small. The bar and restaurant have been "closed for renovations" for months. They did not let us know when booking the room. There is nothing else close by for food or drinks. Very disappointed in the hotel.

I would like to thank the FHG group for implementing our "Lavish Passport Magazine" check-in system at this hotel property location. We have received an overwhelmingly positive response on this piece. It seems like the Chicago South Loop Hotel's guests really find value in a check-in piece designed with the transient customer in mind. Thanks again!

Very nice hotel and within walking distance of the lake. Very clean throughout. Staff friendly and accommodating. Nice views depending on room location. Rooms are a very good size with mini fridge in the room. Huge closet. Modern decor. Great stay.

Rooms are nice, but staff needs to do better. Had to wait in line a while to check in, and when I finally got to my room, I noticed that the toilet was clogged. I called the front desk who said they would send someone up to fix it. 30 minutes later, no one had showed up. Called the front desk again and again with no answer. When someone finally came up to fix it, 45 minutes after the initial call, they said I had to go downstairs to the front desk and change rooms . Waited in line again(10-15minutes)to change rooms, went back upstairs to the new room and the keys didn't work. I walked into the hotel at 10:40pm, and didn't get into a suitable room until 12:08am. Absolutely ridiculous. Most likely will not book here again.

Best thing about hotel was free open parking which is very rare in hotels in downtown Chicago. Hotel is located just south of downtown and couple of blocks walk to Chinatown but secluded so not appropriate for walk during night I'd say. There is public transport available right across the hotel. Overall, a good place to stay.

This is the most affordable place to stay near McCormick Place, but there isn t really anything to walk to; like food and beverage or convenience stores. Also, while being clean, the hotel has a strong odor of cleaning supplies and air fresheners. Not bad for the money...

Large Comfortable Rooms! I am often seeking hotels to attend music concerts. Stayed here several times to go to Reggies. I really like the rooms, free parking, easy access to Lake Shore Drive and downtown. Quick burger after the show right around the corner. Always Clean! Great front desk employees. I give it a 4.5. it is often a full house and there has been lines at the elevator and desk on occasion.

The rooms appear rather dinky, but this is offset by great customer service and a very nice little cafe on campus (although there isn't enough seating). My biggest concern is price: over $400 a night is a lot to ask for an average hotel, and more comfortable ones can be found at McCormick square for half the price. Also, showers dispense soap and shampoo from the wall, which is gross

Place was nothing to write home about standard hotel I guess what you expect at this price. Bar on premises 21+ only. We tried to go in with two children to have a drink and grab a bite but were asked to leave. Tv in room didn't work, air conditioning was sub par.

The Chicago South Loop Hotel truly has it all. It s right in the city and close to pretty much everything you want to do on your visit to Chicago, but yet it has free parking! It s also very close to the freeway. Plus, the rooms are incredibly spacious, as are the bathtubs (the water pressure in the showers is also top notch). This property also has a huge lobby and business center (complete with printing). And the staff was friendly and knowledgeable about various things to do in Chicago. We had a great stay!

THE WORST HOTEL EVER. They literally couldn't give us our key card to our room cause their machine stopped working for about an hour. Therefore, they couldn't make room keys. Weird right? Worst and cheapest hotel ever. Elevators and everything else in there needs updating. Room service employees dont even understand basic English.

I loved the convenience of this hotel in proximity to Solider Field and other attractions. Also the free parking is another bonus. But I stayed for 2 nights and housekeeping never came to service our room. I had to request for fresh towels and for the garbage bags to service the room myself. Also I had a handicap room for my mother and the bathtub is the furthest thing from being handicap accessible. The bathtub is an extremely deep soaker tub that makes it very dangerous and or impossible for a handicap individual to utilize. Upon checking out I informed the Front desk clerk of my dissatisfaction for having to pay full price for a room that I had to clean/service myself. She informed that the GM would call me to address this when he was back on duty. I never recieved a call from the general manager.

We left behind a cooler and came back only a couple hours later. The staff claims to have thrown away the cooler, an expensive igloo cooler, while making comments about how they mail items back to guests when they forget things. I believe our belongings were stolen. I am appalled by this treatment and the fact the staff were beyond rude and incompetent in handling the situation. I will tell everyone how terrible this place is and how terrible the service is here. I will not recommend this to another person. I hope no one comes to this hotel.

11/2017. Lobby nice. Parking lot nice. Evidently part of hotel under construction right now. No breakfast, not even toast. Only coffee from a machine and it was NASTY. Not sure how you can mess that up. Room was very nice and very clean, but shower had a leak in ceiling over light. I'm not getting electrocuted today Loop Hotel! :)

UPDATE: 12/2018. 3rd floor delux rooms are VERY nice, new and clean. Comfy bed. I had a great night's sleep. The shower was GREAT! The workout room is very nice with cable TV. For those things, I upped my rating an extra star.
Only thing left for them to work on is to STOP being so CHEAP and offer a continental breakfast. They don't even have a coffee pot with fresh coffee. Travelers would like some fresh coffee in the morning!

I had a great stay at this hotel. I am on the road with my band and the accommodations were extremely comfortable. The room had everything we needed and was completely clean and organized. Also, the design of the rooms and whole hotel provided a very cool atmosphere.

Very clean with a wonderful staff! The bathtub is super deep and large. There is a shampoo (Breck) dispenser and a Dial Yougurt infused shower gel dispenser! They even have a conference room that has computers and coffee 24 hours!! Plus they have direct tv so when I couldn't sleep I got to watch Investigation Discovery my fav channel!!!!

Large rooms, very nice lobby.
Hotel and rooms were very clean.
The wifi was however not always very stable. It was usable but could have been better.
It was a short walk to the metro line. Both green and red lines are closeby.
There is a large parking lot next to the hotel that is free to use for guests.
The rooms have ac and a fridge.

Some things still need updated. Seems like they are working on it because the bar and the restaurant inside were under construction. Location wasn't great but they had free parking and lyft was always only a few minutes away.

Not proactive enough to anticipate large amounts of guests early arrival for the Bears Packers game. Can't get into room until 3:00 at the earliest because they didn't staff housekeeping enough to have rooms ready early. You have a large event like this that the entire rest of the city has prepped for and you can't get on point. Pathetic.

I'm here at the hotel. It's 7:00. No room coffee, no lobby coffee. The "coffee shop" has a sign that they'll open at 7:30--and there's no place within walking distance. I can understand wanting to keep the rooms sparse to save on startup costs and keep it affordable, but a simple coffee machine in the lobby or a 6:30 opening time would go a long way to improving the customer experience here.

Otherwise, it's clean, new and the employees are polite.

They advertised a shuttle that drops you off really far away from your destination in an obscure location...couldnt locate at the end of the night for our already paid for return trip???very sketchy...also no places to eat close..bed was very comfortable and hotel itself very clean...just DONT take the shuttle..

We stayed for two days in a room on the fifth floor facing East. It had larger vaulted ceilings possibly because of being on the top floor but it felt really roomy. Room was great, everything was in great conditon.

It's near the projects so do not go out alone at night. No security systems on floors. The breakfast was resonably priced and parking was $10 a night. Their is a nearby bar named Reggies that was good.

The hotel is very nice but the location was not convenient for us at all. The rooms were clean, the hotel in general was clean and the staff was very friendly. The free parking in their lot was amazing and they have free wi-fi! The area is all very well lit and we felt safe the entire time. The bed was comfortable, the AC worked very well and the room had a refrigerator which was nice. The TV was Direct TV so it went out during a rain storm which did suck.

As for the location... it is a 40 minute walk to the Field museum or anything in that area. A short 2 minute drive but you hate to give up your parking spot and we weren't about the ride a Chicago bus. To get to the downtown loop or Navy Pier is again a quick drive but then you have to worry about parking your car. Over an hour walk and the L does not run in that area.

Overall if you need to be in that Southern area of Chicago (near Chinatown) this is an excellent hotel to stay in. If you plan on doing much near Navy Pier or the Magnificent mile I would not stay here.

Charged my card twice, had irratatation in my voice when explaining that they charged my card twice and overdrafts my account and the front desk lady told me well I don t wanna speak with you because I don t like the tone of you voice and not once did I yell, curse, or use derogatory language. Then she admitted to their mistakes but said she couldn t help me. I would have to wait and talk to the bank. And at check in they overbooked their hotel and didn t have any rooms available but didn t do refunds! I will never stay here again. And end up having one if we waited til 5am to check in. They are full of bs and theirs not enough parking spaces compared to rooms

I just stayed at the South Loop Hotel. I must scold the people that left a rating higher than one star; they are delusional. There is no restaurant, no bar, or any kind of food. It was noisy, tired and dirty. The vending machines were empty. When I asked if it's safe to walk for food, the contracted shuttle driver warned us about the gangs down the street. This is sub-motel six, and I can't believe it's still open

It was clean and spacious but every morning at exactly 8AM to 10AM there was a loud knocking on the wall, I m assuming it was construction. I could not sleep at all because it was so loud. If you re an early riser, consider this your alarm clock. If you re not consider somewhere else.

We like coming to this hotel alot. It's in a great location and convenient to get to events. The rooms aren't bad but some could use alittle work. Usually get a great price for this place and free parking is a huge bonus. Will stay here again.

The Chicago South Loop Hotel was a great stay. The location was close to Ricobene, a Chicago style restaurant where we went for late night tasty food. The beds were really comfortable and the room was clean. Staff was pleasant and very helpful with check in and out. Would stay here again!
