Love our local zoo! They have done a lot to update it and it's wonderful to see so many animals. The best time to go is during the week or when the weather is cooler (the animals are more active then). It does have hills so make sure you wear good walking shoes and prepare to get some steps in. They do have a couple of vehicles that can transport those that cannot/prefer not to walk.
You can definitely spend a couple of hours here and they have some great new options for food. We have a zoo membership which is a must if you plan to visit the zoo more than once/year.

The hill is just nuts but everything else about this place rocks! Feeding the giraffes, feeding the birds, petting the goats - there is just so much to do! The walk about is great too and my 3 year old had so much fun interacting with all the animals. Make sure you have cash though, you need it to feed the animals and to go on the carousel.

Great place to visit. Hard walking on the side of the mountain. You can buy lettuce to hand feed the giraffes. Admission provides access to Will Rogers Shrine to the Sun which gives great view Eastward of Colorado Springs and high prairie.

One of the best zoos I have ever visited. It is a bit off the beaten path, but also a pretty cool drive as you pass through the Broadmoor. The zoo has a gondola, a carousel and you can feed giraffes. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes!

BY FAR the BEST zoo in Colorado! It is a bit of a drive from denver but WELL worth it! Parking is free and always available. You can always feed the giraffes ($2 for one feeding - bring cash!!) and at different times throughout the day you can feed other animals too! Also, if walking is difficult for you they have golf carts to help! A wonderful, family friendly zoo!

This zoo is by far one of the best zoos I have ever been to. I can honestly say I love it, my wife loves it, and my kids love it. We always look forward to going and having a great time. And we love feeding the giraffes!

As you'll note by the time of this posting, we visited during the COVID pandemic. It was too crowded and I felt uncomfortable. That said, the zoo requires masks, has staff cleaning hand rails and surfaces constantly, and encourages social distancing. The other visitors were not always wearing masks, did not adhere to social distancing/limited occupation restrictions and you have to go through buildings to get from one location to another. The zoo is so fantastic, but think twice about the unexpected exposure due to other zoo visitors and the large number they are letting in now.

Great views, large number of animals, lot of natural enclosures. The flow of zoo makes you back track on things. One visit is almost half of annual pass, so if going to visit more than once probably best to just get the annual family pack.

Great zoo!! Had a blast... Especially when there was a 4 week old giraffe! But the food at the Bear place was good. Pricey, but good. The skyride was cool... the view was beautiful. Not much to do at the top, but again, the view was amazing.
It did feel like no matter which direction you are heading, it's up hill! Ha! Great zoo. Lotta animals out and about

This is the best zoo in the country. If you have a hard time walking you will want to go at a time when the shuttle is running as it is a hike, but it is worth walking. The animals are extraordinarily well taken care of. If you have never been, it is definitely a must-see.

Beautiful zoo, but be prepared to walk up hill ALOT or you can pay for a tram ride to the top of the hill and walk your way back down. That's what we ended up doing and I would recommend!

There was a lot of construction going on in some areas. But still worthy of a visit. Feeding the giraffes was a lot of fun. The gorillas area was a little smelly but also worth the stop to see them.

We love this zoo! What an amazing place. Up in the hills and the habitats are all natural as you can get for the animals. One thing we did NOT care for, was being charged $20 for coins for the conservation boxes to help save endangered animals. The people at the offices need to inform they are charging for these "coins", cuz it was a sticker shock what it cost to get in For 2 adults a 1 child.

My parents are very hard to please on trips and they raved at the excellent layout of this zoo. Started the day feeding giraffes and felt like we got a full experience going up and down the mountain path. Will only be enhanced when we finally have children to bring to all the great play areas! For now, we learned a lot and enjoyed a phone free day together!

They claim to be limiting entrance into the zoo, but there were at least 40 people entering every 20 minutes. The zoo was packed. Masks were not required, and almost no one was wearing one, besides employees. I felt very uncomfortable at the lack of social distancing and mask use. I hope we didn't contract COVID.
