Great family day out. We are members and it is well worth it. Been about ten times so membership has more than payed for itself
In these cov 19 times Chester zoo and its staff are doing there all to protect people. Just hope the public can do more of the same to keep our Zoo open xXx
Lovely place to walk around. Lots of room and lots to see and do.
Always a delight. There's more here than you can see in a day
I love it !!!! the best place place to go out in a summer day
Good day plenty to see and loads of walking. Little expensive at the gate price is reduced if you book on line. Food is expensive so take a pack up / or picnic.
Just a lovely day out even if you dont see that many animals it is just even a nice walk aeound but the queues just to get into some encloser are just horrendous
Fantisic time with family parking was easy lots of staff to help, checking in was easy. Wasn t busy when we went in, Caf e was good only hope they had more Charging points usbs etc etc
Fabulous family day out. The animals come first here. Well laid out site and well signposted so it was easy to find out where you wanted to go. Food and drinks reasonably priced. Lots of educational opportunities for the kids and interactive displays. Staff were very knowledgeable and there were lots around to help
Great Zoo. Bit pricey. Arrive early to get your monies worth as it closes at 4pm.
Great zoo, always being updated and a lot going on.
A full day out, spaced out, plenty if food stalls. Fun had by all
An amazing place for both children and adults alike. All the animals are so well looked after and their enclosures fantastic.
Enormous place with a great variety of creatures. Very informative. Staff friendly and helpful. Full of useful tips.
Big, spacious zoo - great day out! The rhino's were the highlight of my day.
Really fun day out. Lots of food choices and animals
Spent the whole day there and, still missed some of the animals. Which means, going to have to pay another visit. Best for me was the , caught both mother and daughter
Very good zoo. Have an annual pass so visit regularly. Staff are friendly and zoo is clean and the animals are well cared for. Lost a star as the food and drink can be expensive
Very smooth day. Clearly taking the covid restrictions seriously but in a way that didn't detract from the enjoyment of seeing the animals.
Great day as always, especially this time of the year when it's much quieter.
Such a great family day out, animals looked happy and plenty of things to keep you entertained for at least five hours! Chester Zoo have also done amazing landscaping job for the enclosures. The free boat ride was also very relaxing. Well worth the visit.
Amazing zoo! So many animals and so much to see. A great atmosphere!! You could spend hours here and still not see it all. You can get very close to some rare and beautiful animals.
Lots of parking. Quite expensive for entrance but worth the price.
Zoo keepers were very friendly with lots of daily talks about the different animals. Highly recommended.
Best zoo we've been too. Great habitats for the animals. We will definitely return.
My Son was so Excited to see all the Animals and Amazing to support the Zoo after it being closed for so long
The best place to come if you love animals and want to spend money on a good day out
Great to see the place back open with all procedures in place for covid. Queues in places but not to bad. Not much open on our visit but the weather was really bad!!
Pros. Lots of the big hitters - lions tigers jaguars giraffes elephants. Plenty of loos. Nice unique items in the gift shops. Plenty of places to eat.
Cons I enjoyed the day but there was a lot of walking. Things to see were far apart and separated by fences that cut off the view. Many of the animals we didn't see as they were hiding in enclosures...fair enough as December and they were probably cold. Not many things in the gift shop for people over the age of 12. No books or anything like that.
The boat ride was a bit lackluster but everything else in the park is great to see. I will definitely be going back again. Also loved the added Lego animals too.
What an amazing zoo, spent 6 hours and could have spent many more, fantastic
My family love it... So many different animals to see close up, which is really fascinating, especially for children! My only complaint is the high prices of food and drink here - just avoid it and bring your own lunch and refreshments as you will get tired walking around. It's a big place!
Needs to have colour coded routes like other zoo's. Layout is very random. Very friendly staff but maps few and far between.
Brilliant zoo, well equipped for wellchairs and scooters. Can't fault the staff, pleasant and very helpful. A good day, will be back.
There were many of staff members around to answer my daughter's questions. We had a lovely day, thank you.
Really good zoo with loads of great animals. Struggled to fit everything in!
Really nice zoo, good selection of animals including elephants and giraffes, you should book the tickets online as it gives you some discount. Great for a family day out. Felt like the new island bit is a bit gimmicky but it's good for kids to become aware of animal trafficking and it's effects on wildlife, a lot of the animals weren't there when we visited but perhaps it's still being set up. Didn't go on the new boat ride as the queue was too long but people who did it didn't seem too impressed. I thought it was well managed and clean in general, would highly recommend people to visit. A full day should allow you to explore the entire park. Plus Cheshire oaks outlet is literally down the road too!
I love chester zoo, nice place to visit friendly staff the Cheshire farm ice cream was delicious
Visit regularly. Always see something different every time. Absolutely love the work that the staff do both in the zoo and around the world.
The zoo was great. There is lots of info on every animal. Don't forget if you can't see them outside you might be able to see them inside. Also make sure that you wear comfortable shoes!! At some of the enclosures there can be a large group of people. Today it was at the orangutans, please be aware that everybody would like to see so be mindful of others.
This is a nice place to visit with the family. Compared to another zoo we have been to, Chester zoo has a more natural look to it. Convinient for transportation if you are going to use bus too.
Fantastic full day out for the family. Almost too big for one day visit
Simply lives up to its status as the top zoo we have!
Zoo is okay but the food prices are extortionate !! Went for a day trip with the kids but you only see a very limited species of animals. Not really worth the money they charge.
Lovely zoo, always a great day out. Such a shame part is closed because of the fire. But there is still plenty to see and do.
Always a great day out here. It is a large zoo to get round though so if you want to see all the animals it's best to go early. There is a great selection of animals to see so you won't be disappointed.
Well organised and various animals to see with reasonable price tickets .
Great family day out, it is a big site with plenty to see so get in early if you're just there for a day. Nice mix of different enclosures and animal types depending on what you want to see.
There are regular talks in different areas of the zoo so worth checking if there is anything you are interested in listening to.
Although there are different places to buy food, take a picnic, especially if you are with kids, lots of picnic tables and outdoor areas to eat are the nicest.
Highly recommended day out, does cost a bit but for such a good attraction it is worth it.
It's a great place to visit. Lots of beautiful animals to see, but some were hiding and we couldn't see them. Also it took us all day to walk around with only short lunch break. Prices of refreshments and food in the upper range. However overall it was a fantastic day. Will definitely come back.
Fantastic. Always have a whale of a time and as members myself and my daughter will always see something new. Best thing I ever bought.
Best Zoo I have ever been too, and I love Zoo,s. Clean, tidy, loads of picnic spots. Plenty of seats and places to eat. Lots of clean toilet facilities, helpful staff and best of all the animals have loads of space to roam and all looked healthy and contented. Well done Chester Zoo. Thought it was worth every penny.
Absolutely brilliant day out but prepare to do a LOT of walking, you can just about manage to squeeze in everything there is to see in a full day. Great fun for the kids. A good few play areas. Plenty of places to sit and eat. Loads of restrooms and drinks huts.
A clean and organised place. The animals look happy and healthy and all the staff are really friendly and helpful. The shop is really affordable. My only criticism would be the signs for where to find the animals needs to be improved drastically. They are doing a great job with all the restrictions.
Staff very friendly and professional in these difficult times.
Great place to visit. We spend nearly five hours there seeing all the animals. Listened to the elephant talk which was very informative.
There are plenty of picnic tables all around the zoo for people to sit down for a snack
All in all a great day out for all ages.
Wonderful is the word! Although, found it a bit dearer in price for entry as not everyone can afford this and therefore the kids will miss out on very vital educational dayout, but nonetheless, it is was my kid's, 4 and 2, first trip to zoo and they still talk about it!!!
Very clean and well organised zoo. Quite busy too, there's a big car park and it always filled with cars, to park near the entrance one need to come early.
Great place to go with family and little ones love it all animals and go mad when see baby ones
Amazing family day out. Absolutely worth every penny. Easily could spend more than 1 day seeing everything on offer.
Plus really clean facilities and friendly, knowledgeable staff.
It's our second visit and I have to say even though we were restricted because of covid we still had a good day and got to see all the animals that were available to us .
I have been to the zoo before, great place but unfortunately the weather was pretty awful when I went in January and some of the animals were no where to be seen. Best to go when its good weather
A full days worth of animal spotting. Worth avoiding in the holiday season as it becomes busy very quickly, even for such a big place. But saying that, its still a great place.
There are a good selection of animals which appear very well cared for. The bat cave is a highlight. Bring a packed lunch as the food there is expensive as expected.
Very poor !, still charging full price for tickets yet half the enclosures are closed and some that where open there was nothing to be seen. No tiger feeds and no penguin feeds or animal feeds of any kind absolute joke. Don t waste your More
It was amazing I enjoyed every moment and the staff were helpful when we needed them.
Great zoo. Well maintained. Very clean. Spacious for kids to run around and enjoy. Nice cafe's
First time here. We loved it. Great information about the animals. How the zoo helps endangered animals around the world. Best highlight and must do is walking through flying fruit bat's. I am terrified of bat's but over come this. Be aware that the bat's fly past and in front of you. Excellent day out.
Had a lovely family day, despite some obvious restrictions. No major queuing (we went last Tuesday) if you follow the advice of staff who are dotted around advising the best times to visit the most popular spots. Diner, snack cabins, gift shop, etc are open.
We filled a whole day, no problem !
Travelled from Bolton arrived told tickets only.supposed to need money -- absolute joke. Will NOT support it again
A wonderful evening and as you might expect the animals are so lifelike. A great evening out for adults and kids, don't miss it.
Wonderful day out, plenty to do. Food and drinks are pricey but expected as in the city and within the zoo. Loved boat ride experience.
Really good though because it wasn't great weather a lot of the animals were indoors.
After going to the zoo today it was a great start with social distance at the beginning then walking around the zoo we noticed that there was no staff about social distance except by the lion pen and some of the visitors were all over the place honestly made us so uncomfortable I honestly think you need to re look at this again very of putting, the staff in the shop and loos were fantastic but unfortunately not around the zoo certainly not going again while this virus is still on .
This zoo is amazing I faced my fears and went I'm the bat cave it was the best experience ever I absolutely loved it .
Went during lockdown and a few things were closed and a few queues but nothing to stress about. The animals and enclosures were well kept and the day was amazing, we arrived at 10.45 and left at 16.45 so it's a full day if the closed enclosures are open and lots of facilities. We will definitely make a return visit next year.
Big Zoo. Maybe too big. BUT nothing wrong with that because this Zoo packs a punch. Fantastic day out, lots yo see and do.
Even the main restaurant is value for money and wont leave you hungry like some tourist places. This one you get what you pay for,quality..
So enjoy the day out and be sure NOT to miss the bat cave.. This zoo deserves 6stars.
An amazing family day out. And all members of staff we spoke to was friendly and happy to help.
Great zoo, we went in January and so weather not good and quite a lot of maintenance going on. I would imagine in spring and summer would be excellent. Well worth a visit.
A good day out. We saw everything and had lunch in about 5 hours. A wide range of animals and interesting to learn more about them and the zoo's conservation work. The team were friendly and helpful and they were quite quick to get people in to the zoo. The food wasn't great and over priced, pretty much as expected. We booked on line which saved a few pound. Facilities were good and there were plenty of toilets and places for refreshments.
Totally amazing place, we try and go every year! Love the place, and the food area is not to badly priced either
Very large grounds and a great experience for children
Animals all looked so depresate. None of them hardly moved. So upsetting to see as years ago they was lively
Even during lockdown restrictions, the zoo was amazing with such a relaxed atmosphere while keeping us safe and distanced.
Amazing. Loads of animals, and when I say loads I mean loads! Lots of places to get refreshments as well. One thing is, it's quite a long walk to get around the park, so seeing all the animals can be quite tiring.
Great place to go with the kids, worth the long drive. The elephant enclosure was amazing; there is even a waterfall! Recommend!
Visited with two young children who were desperate to see the tigers but unfortunately couldnt be seen along with a whole load of other animals.. Have definitely been to better zoos.
Me and my girlfriend both loved it! Nice big zoo so put your walking shoes on
The work the zoo does is vital and the the keepers are very passionate about their animals and are full of knowledge. We spent at least half an hour in with the bats, letting out eyes get used to the dark and chatted with the keeper about how to encourage more bats in our area. I was only a bit disappointed in the food we had which was both expensive and unsatisfying. The fajita flat bread portion I was served was half of what it should be
