Brilliant zoo. Loads to see and do, it one of the most expensive zoos and there is no reduced two day ticket option as you really need two days to see it all

Absolutely amazing. So many animals and great staff.
The Lions were amazing !!! The food was shocking, it was gross. We had "steak" and cheese baguettes with chips. The "steak" was just under cooked beef, extremely fatty and it just looked horrible! Worse food I've ever had. The kids food looked nice though and their portions were bigger?! Other than that the zoo staff were all very nice and the animals were too.
It's a zoo. Loads of animals. Foods rubbish though so bring your own. Animals look to be well cared for.
Quite big and very nicely managed. You have to see past the many liverpool tops though ;)
Great family day out . Only problem were if someone is in a wheelchair, some of the ramps were steep . Great day out otherwise
Amazing day out for a whole family. Ice-cream is well overpriced as one can expect. And also snack shops. But let's be honest, you don't go to the zoo for snacks do you?
Shouldn't have to produce a membership card or ID to get a cup of tea. Once entrance fee is paid that should be it!
Great place to come with lots of info about the animals and presavation projects.
Plenty of amenities.
Great day out despite the weather .
Also great gf pizza also
Everyone must visit Chester zoo, lots to see and enjoy. Better choice of cafes would be good though
Loved it. Hot day saw all animals. Great day for grandsons 9th birthday. Xx
Visited lastnight as part of "The Chester Lanterns" Christmas lights. The staff interacted as moving animals and also there were static illuminated animals along the expansive route around the zoo. Different "zones" to enjoy with different More
Love this place. Shame some of the areas were closed due to Covid, but they have done a good job given their limitations. Social distancing pretty much out of the window, but that's down to the Covidiot public, not staff.
Amazing zoo and garden at the same time. One of the best zoo in world. Bit crowded but definitely worth a visit
Wonderful zoo. Friendly staff, great restaurants/cafes and shops. All the residents seem like they have enough room in their enclosures, and seem fairly happy. The monorail is a great addition to the zoo as well. Also, the boat ride!
Very rich zoo with animals and a perfect choice for families as a day trip.
Really enjoyable day trip and the zoo has been creating more modern spacious habitats. Loved seeing the elephants, giraffes, meerkats, butterflies etc and also an opportunity to see some other creatures such as the sloth. Also a great place to visit if you like bats, the kids thought that the "bat cave" was incredible.
Great day out..great amenities, nice and clean & animals all look fit and healthy...
Fantastic zoo and great friendly staff. Can't wait to visit again.
Brilliant day out, lots of things to see and we didnt even have chance to see everything! The monorail is extra money, so take change.
Long ques and pricey food (expected) but the food was nice. There is lots of places to eat picnic/home food which is probably better - you can leave the zoo to go to the car and get your food and go back in...
The dinosaur walk through is really good, my 5 year old loved it!
Amazing zoo!
We go here every year for the past 4 years and it is always amazing and we will also go back.
It is the best zoo we have been to
Well worth the money, amazing exhibits, very ethical compared to other zoos i've visited. Great day out for both kids and adults. Lots of places where you can sit with a picnic.
A great day out staff are knowledgeable and ready to help the conservation program is second to none
Absolutely love the zoo so glad it is able to reopen again
Having watched the TV series we wanted to see them in the flesh. Great day out make sure to take some comfortable shoes as a lot of walking given the sheer size of the place. We did travel on the monorail which if I remember right you need to use 3 times to make it worthwhile paying for the day pass vs just paying for a single ride.
Excellent animals, well cared for, and good facilities
Absolutely loved Chester zoo and all of the animals. I'll start with the downfall which was, the food places didn't have much selection and where extremely expensive a kids mean wasn't far off the same price as and adult meal, the kids meal seemed bigger thought.
On the upside though, there where so many animals and things to do, we just didn't have enough time to get around them all. There was something for everyone tastes. Brilliant family and some beautiful places
Best day out in ages and still didn't get to see all of the park! Brilliant!
Amazing place!! Spent 6 hours there still didn't make it the whole way around. Would definitely recommend 2 days
This zoo is great. It's also massive so a good idea to plan your route for the day. You will need a full day to get round all the animals. If you have very small children it's a good idea to take a buggy as there is a lot of walking. The entrance fee is a bit steep. What's most annoying is that despite the high entrance fee the monorail is an additional charge! Anyway it's a great day out.
Such great facilities and exhibits fun for all the family would recommend a buggy for young children and you need the full day to explore
The number of animals you can see here is amazing, highly recommended.
Loved it! I actually think the one way system should be maintained permanently... We had a brilliant day and saw all sorts of beasties. The lemur enclosure was an experience I shall never forget; they were literally walking over my feet! Having watched live during the pandemic, it was so good to be able to actually go in person and we were giddy when we managed to get last minute tickets. Will go back in a few years when hopefully the whole park is open as some areas were under construction and closed due to the pandemic.
A great visit for kids of all ages. Prepare to spend the whole day.
Great place and great for the whole family, we went on a cold wet day so many of the animals were hiding away but still enjoyed it, it's a huge place with something for everyone.
Phenomenal zoo with a brilliant selection of animals. A real shame certain parts were closed for refurbishment when we went but we will definitely be returning. With the admission for the elephants alone!
Brilliant place. Animals look healthy and happy, lots of activities for young kids too. Great day out
Love this place, can't beat a good family day out at the zoo. Fun for all ages
I was disappointed that all the animals weren't seeable even on a day the zoo expected 100 000 people . The animatronic predators were really cool though
Love the zoo! Fabulous new enclosures. We had a date day and it was lovely. Information at each enclosure is fab about these animals in the wild. Sometimes shocking re: poaching.
Will definitely be back.
We attended Chester Zoo today, the first day its opened since the Lockdown started. We luckily managed to buy online tickets, but you can tell how restricted the numbers were as the place was far from busy.
The staff have done an amazing job and there was hand sanitiser located everywhere. Everyone had no problem keeping to the 2 metre social distancing rule and my wife and I felt safe at all times. The indoor areas were closed off, for obvious reasons, so the only downside is we could only see the monkeys when they were outside, which wasnt very often.
We had an ace day out, which brought a little normality back in to our lives.
Again the staff were all first class today and friendly :)
Fantastic day out with the Wife, got some great photos, was nearly 6 hours going around and still didn't see the new Islands exhibition, food expensive but plenty of places to eat your own food if you take a picnic, well worth the money!
Great family day out... it can get a bit tiring if you have young kids... parking can be difficult during half term breaks from schools. The new dinosaur experience is an additional fun feature.
The viewing areas on some of the enclosures are not the best so have to wait to get close up the tiger enclosure being one of them.
Amazing zoo, need two days to see it all. Staff are so helpful and friendly. 3rd time we've been n would go again
Excellent Zoo. Local to us and now we have a little one we got the family pass to enjoy as many visits as we like throughout the year!
Absolutely fabulous, everything we had hoped for following the tv series.
Love it here, great variety of animals.
Excellent family day out.
Probably better to go for 2 days as it is large and it would've been nice to have been able to take our time mooching around.
Still a great day out. The zoo has put lots of measures in place to ensure everyone safety.
Zoo great as usual. Covid Measures really.good. Roast Dinner at The Oakfield amazing, and good value for money
Really enjoyable, the team have obviously worked really hard with their social distancing effort
Well done to Chester zoo. Social distancing in place one way system announced throughout
Shame some visitors just don't listen or read but top marks to chester zoo
There was hardly any animals on show and what there was there was long queues for. They should not be charging full price or letting so many people in at this time. We had looked forward to this day out since it was postponed in March and it was such a let down
Brilliant. The whole family loved it. We go all the time because everyone loves it.
Brilliant place accessable to all. great day out for everyone .
An amazing zoo, constantly being developed, loads of animals and a full day out. We are lucky enough to go 4-5 times a year and are never disappointed.
Went on a cold February day and the fact that we arrived just after opening and were still there at close says it all. My 7 year old loved it great day. Will return.
This is the zoo that is featured on The Secret life of the Zoo on TV. It is clear these animals are extremely well looked after with multiple examples of endangered species being successfully bred. They work all over the world to prevent endangered species becoming extinct. Keepers are very knowledgeable care deeply about the animals. This is a large zoo with much to see and do and highly recommended.
Lovely zoo, with lots of different animals to see and lots of places to stop and have a rest or a bite to eat. The zoo itself was very clean and tidy. It's a little bit pricey but definitely worth it. The butterfly house is great will fog up your glasses however if you want glasses (like me). I'd recommend coming earlier in the day and making a full day not just a quick look around. Will definitely be coming back in the foreseeable future.
Lovely place, but sometimes struggle to see a number of the animals out
Lovely place. Loads of animals plus a street food village can be found here.
Good place to visit for a date if you live around Chester . Also good place for a family's day out .
Love this place .. been a member for almost 20 years and hope for 20 more .
Great day out with the kids..lots to see and do. The monorail wasn't working when we visited...but you do have to pay extra on top of the admission fee. It's really improved since we last visited 5 years ago...much more focused on conservation and the animal enclosures were much more realistic.
Love it love it.
Staff are very helpful
Kids and adults love all the animals.
Plus it educationally animals from all over the world
Amazon etc
Very good lots of hand gel stations for cleaning hands .don't seem to over book with visitor numbers but some hot spots like orangutan house. Good day out .
Not very happy so many people there and queueing for everything so didn't get chance to see all
Really good considering they are only accepting pre booked only it was busy and it will help the Zoo going. Love the elephants
If I could I would put ten stars! I have an annual pass and have already been eight times. The staff are very friendly and helpful and take amazing care.
Haven't been here for 20 years, had a great day out seeing g all the animals
Such an amazing day out.. we got there early thinking it would be quiet.. and how wrong we were.. that didn't bother us.. was great to see little kids on a school trip. Amazing place. Staff really friendly and knowledgeable. We don't have kids.. but that didn't stop us.. a full fun packed day..
Great Zoo. Always very informative and helpful staff. Such a variety of animals to see and great for kids. My daughter absolutely loved the bat cave. It's just a shame that they have to charge through the roof for food and drink.
Fantastic zoo. Very clean and all animals have lots of space to roam around. Highly recommended!
It was amazing!! Great family day out loved by us all
We love this place, we are members and live nearby. Although far too much to cover in 1 day, so with a day pass it best to choose around 70% of the animals that you want to see first to make sure you get to see your favourites.
