Great ambiance...i had the saffron ipa which was awesome...we ordered kale pakora chaat, chicken kababs and tandoori bread masala dabba...kale pakoras were awesome...xhixken kabab were lil cold. For entree we ordered paneer korma, chicken bhuna and vegetable tikka masala..all of it was very delicious. Price is kinda high...but worst part was our waitress...she did not make us feel welcome at all..and was in a constant hurry to get us outta there.

A fancy place with a very authentic taste..such combinations are quite rare. Great for a date nights. Such attentive hosts.. and the people who work there know their food.... Chaatable is a sister restaurant of this one and that's also a must try. There are more dishes in addition to the menu online... We tried bread pakodas, channa masala and naan (Punjabi thaali), tandoori shrimp, jackfruit upside down cake and chai for lunch...just phenomenal. Dishes have decorative names but chefs bring out a home made taste.

A great beginners restaurant if you've never had Indian before; they make it very approachable and add fun, Indian twists to American dishes. I do wish the spice tray came with more bread, you can purchase more but it's rather expensive for naan. I never get enough to use all the condiments. Service is hit or miss.

Great food, great service. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations! To drink I had the apple bottom smash and we shared 3 appetizers; Gulpa shots, poutine, and croquettes. I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!

Service is great.

Service is great.

This place does not have traditional Indian options. If you are vegan or vegetarian you are going to have very limited options in comparison to a normal Indian restaurant. Even the rice has dairy in it. Service is 10/10. Very expensive.

Reservations were made online at Chauhan Ale and Masala House today for a business brunch. We walked in and wasn't acknowledged for several minutes at the hostess booth. A young lady finally comes to ask what we wanted, stated we have reservations and without looking for the reservation, said she doesn't have it, I asked her to look for it and she said "Nope don't have it". They didn't even want to see the reservation confirmation . We said okay can we grab a table and was told they was closed due to plumbing issues. We left and I called from the parking lot to confirm what she said was true, the young lady on the phone stated they was open and will reopen for dinner later as well. Nothing about plumbing issues was said. I walked in to confront the lady and she lied and made several stories up about what she said. Dine at your discretion!

Must experience if you are coming out to Nashville! This place is unique, delicious and will leave you wondering why you haven't had Indian Fusion before. Service is incredible and the complementary valet is the cherry on top

I don't understand the great reviews and all the hype. The food was mediocre. I have had better Indian food for much lower price. I am up for fancy food, and don't mind spending money on it-food is probably the only indulgence I have. I spent here for two people what I would have spent at the cheesecake factory or at the Midtown Cafe..But the food was totally not worth it. Most of the Indian dishes were bland and by bland I am referring to the flavor not the spiciness. I do not equate or define tasty food as something that is spicy. The portion sizes were ridiculous. That being said, I think desserts were alright. Like others said, the ambiance was good-but what good is that when the food-which is supposed to be the highlight of any restaurant-is not up to the mark? This place to me is akin to what people typically pay for when they buy 'branded' sneakers or jeans. It's the brand, not the product that you pay for.

Really like this place and fully intend to go back but the grill cheese I received with my tomato basil soup really needs to be reconsidered by the chef. It was an over cheesy, melted-mess of a blob that I couldn't even figure out how to pick up. When you can "never" have too much cheese, they found a way!

Great Indian Southern fusion place! I had the garam masala pork belly with spinach (saag) and rice, in addition to the lamb mint burger which came with mushrooms. Masala fries were delicious! The employees are nice, there is a friendly vibe here, and you can choose from a whole lot. Creativity reigns supreme here. 5 stars

A restaurant where fusion cooking (Southern food and Indian) actually works! The appetizers are interesting and flavorful and the mains haven't disappointing. There is complementary valet parking so parking is no issue. Please note that the restaurant can be a bit loud which makes conversations sometimes a bit difficult.

Great service, incredible food, cool atmosphere. You HAVE to try the hot chicken pakoras. I've never tasted chicken like that before. I will be sure to visit all of Maneet Chauhan's other restaurants in Nashville!

I've been wanting to try this place out for quite some time now. Finally made it down here for dinner this evening and had a great meal. We started with the naan and chutney sampler which was very good. The only drawback was the small amount of naan for each person... 4 small triangles for the three of us. An additional order was $4. My wife and daughter both got chicken tikka masala. Good choices. I decided to go with their "Meat & 3" option which is basically a chef's choice of protein and three sides. A good assortment me try a variety of things if you're adventurous. Service and atmosphere was very nice. Oddly enough though I think their chairs aren't comfortable and don't fit in with the overall decor as good as they could. No big deal through, it's just a chair.

AMAZING Indian food in such a hip environment! The menu was so creative and I love the twist on Indian favorites. Was truly a delight to taste all the items and I love the Nashville influences bleeding into Indian style dishes.
The cocktails were also very creative, but I wasn t the biggest fan of the ones I had ordered which is the only reason I put a 4 instead of 5 star rating. Will definitely have to come back for brunch!

Had to be the absolute most absurd experience I have ever had dining out. I just moved back to Nashville and was absolutely extatic about coming back to this restaurant my previous favorite but no longer. I am unsure of the change in the restaurant's staff but it is not for the better. I have never in my life been as degraded and talked to as the hostess did, as well as almost refused to be sat while another hostess was trying to walk me to my reserved table. After this our server was almost unheard from or seen the entirely of our dining experience. This has left a very bitter taste in my mouth from a restaurant that was once my favorite Indian restaurant outside of India. Now I guess it is time to find another.

Food is alright. We went to celebrate anniversary with high expectations.

Service is friendly. My husband found a broken piece of white ceramic crockery in his rice and luckily didn t swallow it. We informed staff right away so no one else gets hurt. Staff offered us free takeouts but we didn t want anything in exchange. Staff handled it really well and included a generous discount on our check.

Tandoori poutine. Chili paneer bhurjee relleno. This is the food of Chauhan Ale & Masala house and it is incredible. The craft cocktails are top notch; the bar staff really know their stuff. Local craft beer with an Indian inflection, too. One of the best meals of my life and easily the best place I've been in Nashville. Can't wait to come back! Try the chai stout, but save room for dessert!

Omg!!! A place that makes fool of non Indians on the name of fusion. $150 dinner and nothing to show for.... Taste was like a newly graduated chef is experimenting on your dime.... Service.... They have no clue what commentment goes with what.. Ordered chutney to eat with bland appetizers came with entry guy brings biryani as the first entry ready to serve us... When we have no entry plates or Naan and curry has been served come on..... When we are expected to pay top dollars we expect that same level of service...... Just hiring some chicks to serve food and rename authentic Indian recipes with fancy names dont give you the right to disrespect fusion food. Worst!!! I feel bad for folks that eat hear assuming they are having fusion food when they are just served 3rd grade food for their 1st grade dollars.

Flavor town. Elevated Indian fare at its finest. Great cocktail, app, and tapas concoctions. Happy hour is divine (5-6:30 M-T) . Your mouth will be happy. A must-visit for the Indian food loving foodie out there. You know who you are. Get here. Get a cocktail. Get the Tandoori Chicken Poutine. Wonder why no one thought of it before. Enjoy.

Terrible terrible quality, my entire family got food poisoning after the meal last night. We used to be patrons of this restaurant but the quality have officially dropped and if you don t believe me try it yourself if you ve had any experience eating Indian food you can tell it s not the same as two years ago. Thoroughly disappointed would not recommend to anyone sane who has had Indian food before, and the only reason they get one star is the phenomenal bartender that made our night. Thanks for the food poisoning Chauhan, and glad we flew in from San Francisco to experience it.

I'm torn between three stars and four stars. My table was definitely a one-star tonight as there was a 7 top next to me that was exceedingly loud. It was like sitting next to a table of the Real Housewives the way they talked over each other. While having my meal two tables were seated next to me and left for other tables before even placing their order, the restaurant wasn't even busy. You would think somebody would get the hint. In addition I was using a cane and was seated at the second farthest table from the valet entrance. I guess that will be today's physical therapy. I couldn't hear the server tell me the specials and asked her to repeat herself a couple of times. I also said I can't believe I was seated there and it didn't dawn on her to relocate me. I had the Black Eyed Pea croquettes and the Cioppino, both were fantastic. The Cioppino would have benefited from some Naan for dipping. I had the jack fruit cake with the butter pecan ice cream, it was great although a very dainty as you can see in the photo. If you want a true cioppino with a nice bread for dipping I highly recommend Saltine, a new restaurant nearby. I will definitely give this restaurant another shot and will be more assertive in table selection. I will add my server seems very nice from what I could hear from her and I did take both of her suggestions and they made all the difference.

Didn't look busy but had a 45 minute wait for two, ended up sitting at the bar. The cocktails were good but not great. Food was definitely much better than the drinks, I had the sampler plate from the smoker and every cut of meat was great: chicken, ribs, and brisket. Staff was friendly and courteous. Prices were pretty standard for the type of place that it is. I'd go back

Great place. Not truly 100% Indian Indian, more like fusion Indian, but good food and full bar. Food quality is great. It's Maneet Chauhan's restaurant, so it's going to be great anyways. Can be pricey. Great ambiance, perfect for a date.

The food and the mood here were really great. A solid choice would be the meat and three, the catch of the day was pretty great the day I was there as well. Their drink selection is really nice, I strongly recommend the down by law. It's got just the right kick to get ya going without knocking you out. I don't give it 5 stars only because it left me wanting a more traditional Indian restaurant experience. That said, the drinks, the food and the atmosphere make this a solid date night spot.

I would only rate it for the ambience, else the menu has very limited options to choose, especially for vegetarians. The food is also very expensive & not worth to spend that much for the food that is served. I feel there are much better Indian Restraunts in Nashville.

First time in Nashville and chose from a list of suggestions from a friend and went here. Wow. Fantastic. Got the naan appetizer which was amazing. Wife got the pork tenderloin and I got the Meat Three thing. Both were spectacular but my wife's pork was the best either of us had ever had. It was unbelievable. The waitress Kristen was very knowledgeable. Will definitely return.

Food:
Thumbs up... Seriously order thumbs up it's a great drink.

Anyways.. food wise I order masala fries, and chicken Tikka masala.

The Masala fries are great with no complaints there. Great combination of the spices, cheese, and fries.

Chicken Tikka Masala is pretty good but not the best I have had. I perfer a more creamy buttery flavor where this is more of a general tomato sauce flavor. Not bad by any means but not great either.

Service:
Had very good service every time ive went here.

Overall:
Price here is pretty high for what you get. Dessert is way to expensive for what you get. Besides that nothing bad to say. If you can pay the bill the food is good and service the same. Give this place a go you will not be disappointed.

Food options are creative and as the name suggests, it's perfect fusion. We ordered kale pakoras, chicken poutine, chicken pakoras and paneer stuffed relleno and lunch box. Food was overall delicious. Interior is interesting creativity with bricks but could have been better. Seating could have been little more comfier.

Lamb shank was fall off the bone amazing and the curry poutine was surprisingly heavenly. Never would have thought it would be, but if you go, order it! Staff and service met expectations for a restaurant of this caliber. Great experience!

WOW!! We had a private event tonight in the upstairs room. What a great experience!! The food was delicious, the beverages were amazing! Miri kept everything moving smoothly while Katie made sure our guests had the beverage of their choice. Ask for them! Our VIP's went home full and happy!!

Under seasoned and Underwhelmed

Under seasoned and Underwhelmed

When my wife suggested we go to this restaurant, I was very excited as we both like Indian food. The interior and exterior of the restaurant is a great space and more of an urban warehouse kinda vibe. Unfortunately upon entering, I was met with, well, the opposite of southern hospitality. The one hostess was on the phone and didn t acknowledge us, while the other one looked at us, said nothing and continued to sort menus. After a couple minutes we were lucky enough to have the one on the phone make eye contact and give us a finger sign meaning wait a couple more minutes till I am off. We didn t have a reservation so they sat us at a high top in the bar, which was completely acceptable. Once again the untalkative one walked us over to our table, not making any eye contact, said nothing and gave us our menus. Our waitress, who also doubled as a bartender was very helpful. She was knowledgeable on the menu and we proceeded to order the hot chicken pakora and the puffed semolina balls. The pakora had all the makings of a great dish, unfortunately the batter was somewhat soggy and the chicken had absolutely zero seasoning, ie. Salt on it. If you were to remove the soggy breading, the chicken was very tender and moist, but with zero flavor. The semolina balls were amazing and a fun way to start a meal. For my main dish I chose the lamb with saag which once again had zero seasoning. The cook on the lamb was great, very tender, however I don t think there was one grain of salt used during the cook. Any seasoning the sauce had was immediately swallowed up in your mouth by the flavorless lamb. My wife got the meat and three and unfortunately the meat and all 3 suffered from the lack of seasoning. Hers came with naan and I had contemplated ordering myself a side, cause we both love it and I am so glad I didn t. This is honestly probably the first time we left and Indian restaurant with naan still on the table. There was no butter, no cilantro and no crisp on it. At one time, it looked like there was, now our was just a flavorless sponge used to soak up our under seasoned dishes, which literally sucked any possible flavor they may have had out of them. The icing on the cake to this whole meal is the fact there were no salt shakers at the table and when I requested salt I was given a ramakin from the bar with salt used to rim a margarita glass. That was definitely a first! To be quite honest for a couple apps and a couple entrees I expected so much more for $87 with tip. Trader joes makes a pretty good frozen garlic naan and if you crisp it up in the oven with a little ghee, you wouldn t be disappointed. I truly do wish I could give this restaurant a better review as it s a great concept and great space, but there was just a complete lack of execution.

Underwhelming, uninspired, and overpriced. The best thing about this place is the atmosphere. If I could go to Sitar, Woodlands, or Bombay and bring the food here it would be perfect. Even for a fusion restaurant I would expect more flavor. I order the Chicken Marsala Flatbread and had to order pepper flakes to give it a flavor as well as the "Indian ranch" sauce. I will say the fries were perfect though. The beer flight was decent but the staff was very "blah". No enthusiasm. Don't waste your money. Bombay has a great lunch buffet for $10.95.

Our server Chloe was excellent and fabulous. She really knows her stuff. We are vegan and she was able to perfectly guide us through the menu. This place has just enough vegan options and the food is delicious!! Loved the artichoke pakoras and the moilee. This was my first time dining here and I would highly recommend. Thank you Chloe for making our experience great!

Low menu choices. Over hyped. Food is not authentic. Hybrid menu. Overall standards not to its menu and cost. Service has big time issues although servers are polite, they often mess up your order. I dint find having a quality time here. I love fine dining but this is not the place for it.

The worst restaurant I have ever been to in my entire life. I have worked in high class food business for over 20 years. No free parking, expect to pay +$12.00 for parking. No prices on the menu. Food is not Indian, portions are very small and very expensive, food taste is horrible. Waiter assigned a table for us and said he needs the table after 45 minutes. Bottle of beer is $18.00. We paid $100.00 for 2 persons and we left hungry. With all respect to those who left good reviews, they don't know what Indian food taste like. Avoid...

In the course of just a few months I've been able to try all of Maneet's restaurants. Chauhan was the last of them and it was fantastic! The atmosphere was very pleasant to eat in. Our server was great and very knowledgeable which was helpful because my knowledge of Indian food is slim, much less Indian fusion. One of the items we chose were the Chicken Tikka Masala Poutine and it was incredible. It was an appetizer that was plenty for 2 people we had some left over actually. I had the meat and 3 for my entree and was just impressed with the flavors of everything. I'd go back even if just for the poutine!

One of the best meals that I've had in a long time. Great service, beautiful atmosphere, and seriously delicious, unique food. The waitress overheard my husband mentioning it was my birthday, so she had the kitchen prepare a chocolate parfait for me as a gift that was absolutely perfect. Highly recommend!

This place has the most amazing food. Every time my girlfriend visits from Memphis we hit this place. You must try the pork belly on the appetizers menu. So Good. Also ask for Jennifer at the bar she makes the best cocktails.

GET THE POUTINE!! It is seriously unbelievable. I went with 4 people who had never been before and had them all try it. They were very apprehensive at first, but after the first bite the poutine was gone in minutes. Seriously delicious. All the food is great. Meat and 3 seems to be the most popular item. It can be a bit pricey but it's honestly worth every penny.

Quite possibly one of the best meals I've had in all of Nashville. Drinks are strong and the flavors are stronger. I recommend couple orders of naan, the relleno, and always get the chef's special no matter what else you get...

This is great Indian food, but it isn't just Indian food. It is the best of Indian and southern. But it is not great just for that. The individual parts are the best you have had. The rice is the fluffiest you ever had. The curry sauce is the most flavorful. The staff is very helpful and friendly. For an appetizer try the nachos. They are out of this world.
