The hotel is a little strange, especially given its surroundings. It's not dirty but it is old and worn down. That said my son and I had a lot of fun joking about its Oddity and were comfortable in our room. The service was excellent everyone was very friendly. I would definitely stay there again.

The photos of the Chataeu do an accurate representation of the appearance of the hotel. However, this place deserves a 5-star rating solely based on the staff. The employees here are amazing. Everyone I encountered, ranging from the woman at the front desk (I believe she said her name was Mackenzie) to the housekeepers are all very well-mannered and sincere. No place is perfect, but what this place lacks is definitely made up for by the quality of the staff.

This hotel is very big. The rooms are nice and pretty big and the whole place is decorated pretty fancy, and they serve breakfast in the morning. The only problem is that it's so big that it's like a maze trying to get to your room. So it's a great hotel in every way except it's just kinda hard to navigate

Cutest hotel ever! Not ur every day hotel or inn. Especially for the amazing price.
The decor, the environment, and THE STAFF were amazing. Yes, some of the reviews call the rooms dated . Phhhh. Shut up. Just because it isn t modern n conformed to millennial needs... doesn t mean it deserves a low rating. I absolutely love the decor, the room, the everything. And the staff is beyond accommodating n amazing. Super sweet n professional.
This hotel is cute cute cute. We travel a lot, n this is by far one of my favorite hotels. So fun. N the restaurant THAT ALSO DOES ROOM SERVICE is awesome!!!!!!!!
If ur gonna need a hotel in Bloomington, I recommend the heck outta this one.

We have been there twice. The first time was a bit of an emergency. I appreciate 'old' decor, and find most criticism of 'dated' to be a little shallow. The staff was very nice, as well as helpful both times.

For $150 a night you think there would be working heat. I found out the hard way at 1 in the morning when I woke up freezing that the heat didn't work. The lady at the front desk in the morning could have cared less and totally blew me off. It's a shame because the hotel is beautiful, but the front desk staff need a customer service 101 class asap!

The two women that checked us in were great. Very welcoming. The room was more than good enough. We had a pet friendly room. Access to take dog outside was easy. I slept well. I wished I could have lounged around in bed & watched tv in the morning. The comfort, for the family, was pretty good.

I really hate to give anyone this low of a rating but overall our experience was not good. It started off fine we had a first floor room as requested but when we got into our room it was filthy and beds were not made and bathroom was very dirty. I called to the front desk and they did move our rooms but all the way to the 5th floor. We did want a 1st floor room but I didn t complain at that point. The new room was cleaner but by no means clean. I was to worn out to complain again. Only one elevator worked in the whole hotel so it took about 20 mins to get from our room to our vehicle. Staff seemed nice and tried to accommodate but overall I probably would not go back to this dated hotel.

Was there for a wedding. It was nice but obviously starting to get a bit run down. The food was good, but there was a mix up and they did not provide the hot breakfast like that was in their contract. The chandliers are not straight which was annoying.

I would not recommend The Chateau Hotel for any venue rentals. Our small business contracted a small conference room in March. When their business was closed by the city for fire alarm codes! When we called to find out if they would be open they claimed they didnt know anything! Therefore we had to scurry to find another venue because of the lack of communication from their sales dept and GM. I went beyond 6 times of contacting them for a refund and still no response. I have since contacted their owners The City of Bloomington Mr. Rasmussen on resolving this issue.

Location is great, right in the middle of town! Close to everything but still quiet in the room. The room was nothing special. 2 queen size beds, mini fridge, microwave and tv. Clean enough but you can tell it's been around awhile and needs some renovations. The lobby is GORGEOUS! It was decorationed for Xmas when we went and the kids loved running from tree to tree to see the decor. There's a beautiful fountain in the lobby surrounded by bronze flamingos. Stunning gas fireplace with mahoganey mantle and lots of books to read. Definitely will stay there again as it was much more reasonably priced than another hotel we usually stay at.

The location is right across from tj max and a bunch of other shopping. The room was nice "a bit to toasty for me". Room service is available, the employees were most helpful. Overall 5 out of 5. As soon as we got there we were impressed.

I stayed one night and felt grossed out! There was a layer of dust around the carpeted baseboards of the room, cobwebs in the corners, a thick layer of dust on the bathroom vent and a blood stained washcloth neatly folded in the bathroom. Also, the smell of mold/mildew was overwhelming as you walked in and the same smell in the elevators was awful! I started sneezing just from the elevator ride. The staff was very friendly and helpful but other than that I was not impressed.

It was nice, clean, and old fashioned. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The desk clerk was nice and patient. They didn't actually have breakfast as advertised online. There were packaged muffins and danishes in the lobby every morning so if you wanted a real breakfast you would have to go to a nearby restaurant. The pool wasn't open which we weren't informed about before we booked our rooms online or when we checked in. I would stay again after covid has cooled down.

While living in another city they first told me items left there they would hold until I could pick them up. I called 5 days later and they told me they would ship them to a friend in Bloomington....thinking he had them....he was told they were shipped to me. HORRIBLE....never going back...there are other amazing places in Bloomington to stay...I recommend finding somewhere else. One of the shirts never sent was worth more than the stay itself.

This hotel looks like they've seen better days, but was still relatively clean and enjoyable nonetheless. I attended a pool party for a birthday and some things I noticed were that the ceiling around the air ducts was soaking wet and dripping, some metal surfaces were getting very rusty, the pool looked like it needed to be repainted, and the Sauna was missing both control knobs in the men's bathroom (there was also no sign for it so I discovered it by accident) so I was unable to use it. The hot tub was pretty nice with good working Jets and bubbles, the pool has a deep end which is increasingly rare for a hotel pool, and the water temp was perfect. I didn't interact with anyone working at the hotel but they looked friendly. The attached Tony Roma's is a nice amenity, and the overall design style of the hotel is something you dont see much anymore, so I appreciate that there are still hotels like this around. I do wish they'd spend some time and money on renovations though as I think it'd really help them out with repeat customers

Thank you to The Chateau!!! We booked a Banquet room and The Chateau did a fantastic job decorating, catering, and providing one of their banquet halls for my sons 18th birthday party.

Great service and great food.

The entire process was seemless and the staff was courteous and helpful.

I highly recommend them for any banquet need.

This was an excellent stay. I was immediately drawn to this location because of the design which is super unique. I was shocked to find out the rates are much lower than I expected so I was preparing for the worst. I was surprised. The lobby and staff were wonderful. The building has a lot of charm. Room was clean, quiet, and relaxing. This location is right next to Tony Roma's so that's a plus. Can't really think of anything negative about my experience so I would definitely recommend staying here.

Great Hotel and Conference center. They have a Tony Roma's restaurant attached for convenience. It is a nice hotel and good service. Lots of weddings and receptions done here. Affordable and centric.

Hotel is descent. Could be a little more attention to detail, dry leaves near leg of bed by wall, all my lamos were unplugged bad to move furniture to plug in. Antiquated. Not enough bedside outlets. TV too small for distance from bed.

Excellent! Beautiful! Spotless! Upscale, classy, quiet, are some of the free words that describe this beautiful hotel. About a 3 hour drive from Chicago, it's truly worth the trip. I'm very pleased with the stay. And great coffee!

Booked this place for my wedding and ended up having to cancel do to family issues and the women never called me back to confirm or anything after I left 2 emails and a voicemail. She completely dismissed me because I wasn't doing my wedding there anymore. Very poor people relations.

Its a very neat little place. I have been there a few times and the staff seem really friendly. I attended a princess event with my daughter so that was cool that they had that there. It's not the most modern place but it seems to be well run

ABSOLUTELY UNPROFESSIONAL!! This hotel is a joke and an insult to the hospitality industry! The children they have running this place are rude, uneducated and downright snobby! I have tried twice to book a room at this MOTEL and have been told that they will not honor their 10% off code which is advertised on their homepage as soon as you click on the website. By the way it tells you to call the hotel I mean MOTEL. This is word for word from their site - ASK FOR CODE HOTD FOR 10% OFF OUR BEST AVAILABLE RATE ON THE ROOM TYPE YOU CHOOSE. CALL TODAY. I did call today and the little girl who answered the phone was rude and stuck up, refused to honor their special on their site WHICH TELLS YOU TO CALL THEM!!!!!!! She would also not honor my AAA discount which I pay good money for. When I asked to speak with a manager she said that there is not one in until MONDAY?? ARE YOU SERIOUS?? Name one establishment that does not have a manager on duty during a weekend!! WOW! What have we come to when a crappy motel doesn't want people's business?? This place is outdated, stuffy and extremely unaccommodating! Please everyone spend your hard earned money anywhere but here and go somewhere who will appreciate your business and treat you with respect! I travel frequently and have a degree in Travel & Tourism Hospitality and am appalled how these people are staining our industry. The Chateau in Bloomington, il looks like a hotel on the outside but has the look, feel and attitude of a motel that you see near truck stops. So please hear me and run far away from this overpriced unaccommodating super 8 in disguise!

We were in town for my kid brother as wedding and check in was at 3pm and the wedding was at 4 but the groomsman had to be there at 3:30 I went to the counter to check in promptly at 3pm and the lady said hold on and she went and grabbed her purse and left for shift change. The new counter lady said can you give me a second to get organized since I just got in and I said no problem. Now mind you there were 10 people waiting behind me to get checked in. I stood at the counter and the lady made a phone call to her manager and told him that none of the rooms had been cleaned from the previous night. Come to find out the first lady I encountered knew about this and did nothing instead she left promptly when her shift ended terrible customer service. The hotel has seen better days its unkempt and dingy in a lot of the common areas. I will say however the manager refundednus $50 for each room for the hassle. I ask those in management to really consider the condition of your hotel let's bring it back to its former glory and make it the best hotel in Bloomington.

The Chateau feels like a hotel costing twice as much per night than it does. Having a 24 hour gym and indoor swimming pool provides plenty of exercise options. There are places where the building shows its age, but these are mostly minor.

Very dated. The shower had multiple hairs in it, the night stand had long hair all over it like it hadn't been dusted, and the worst was the centipede crawling across our bed. We searched over the bed and did not see any other bugs or signs of bugs, but it just made me paranoid the rest of the night. Also the lock on the door was broken, so I moved the chair in front of the door to be safe. Our room was noisy with the people in the room next to us, and rattling of something in the light on the ceiling. Ended up sleeping with the TV on to drown out the noise. The only good thing about this experience was the comfortable king size bed and friendly staff at check in and out.

The Chateau is charming but a bit old. I was apprehensive because of some of the negative reviews but when I checked in I found my room comfortable and it had good wifi, a nice tv, and a comfy bed. The next morning I woke up to no hot water for my shower. It wasn't just me it was the whole floor. It seems the gas line that fed 2 boilers had broken because of the cold weather. However, it was fixed by the afternoon and the manager apologized. I imagine this sort of thing can happen to any hotel. The rooms have some interesting touches. In mine, there's a chandelier, lace curtains, and a nice recliner. The staff is friendly and my stay included a good breakfast. The bacon was nice and crispy and the coffee was good and strong. Overall, I think either they have stepped up or the previous reviewers were a bit harsh.

1/30/16...Great sevice, nice, clean. The best part, I was with a large group for a 30th bday party. Well...we all got really loud in the lobby just hanging out after dinner, they moved us to a banquet room, kept us happy and the other guest (less noise for them)...GREAT JOB STAFF

I ve stayed here multiple times as a air crew employee and have had the same consistent problem. The WiFi here is absolutely terrible. I ve actually had to delay a flight because I could not update my flight charts on my iPad due to the inconsistency in the WiFi. It s 2019 and we shouldn t be having these problem. Luckily my data has helped me atleast have access to my email. I hope any traveling professional who comes here has a good data plan because your devices will have intermittent connection issues.
