One of the best at Bloomington. Nice Rooms and well maintained.
Safe place near shopping and eateries. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Could use an upgrade, however, their customer service is enough to make me return!!!
The Chateau was beautiful. I feel like I entered a new time period. I would love to go again.
Decent for the price. Room smelled like Goodwill laundry detergent, otherwise very clean. Very firm mattress.
Nice hotel people there are really cool and has a nice restaurant right by it
0 STARS!! Here's a fun story! We got to the Chateau last night a little before 12:30 midnight and there was no one at the front desk! We waited nearly 20 minutes, calling them over and over and no one came. We finally called priceline and after calling the Chateau and being unable to contact them, they had to set us up with a different hotel. We got to the Chateau a little before 12:30 and After all was said and done, we weren't actually sleeping in our new hotel till almost 2 a.m. The moral of the story is: never stay at the Chateau in Bloomington!
The hotel was nice but I won't go back to that Tony Roma's again.
Elevator has been broke for several years and now no ice machines.
Was walking around looking for an atm. No one asked any questions or offered assistance and I saw maybe 3 employees. Other than that, I've always had positive experiences here.
Attended a social event over the weekend where there was food trucks and live music. It was a small affair, but a nice get away.
I was there to see a presentation. I found the auditorium to be comfortable enough. Unfortunately, the speaker was drowned out by the band rehearsing for the wedding next door. The lobby was taken over by a completely different event. So I counted at least 4 different events taking place. The space was not designed to handle this. And one should not be allowed to interrupt another. The restroom I visited was clean, and the staff was polite.
Older hotel, but polite staff, and clean rooms...vintage elevator & real crystal on display in the lobby...
My wife and I stayed on a Saturday night with the romance package. We received a bag with some chocolates, a bottle of champagne, and $25 Tony Roma's gift card. The room had a king bed and was decently sized. It was clean and everything was in order. The window would not open, but the AC/heater worked well so it wasn't too much of an issue. The pillows were quite lumpy and the TV was set in energy saving mode and kept dimming to a very dark level where it was kind of difficult to see what was happening during the day. The bathroom was clean, though the vent was quite dusty and grimy and the shower had a crack in the soap holder exposing the inner wall. However, the staff was very nice and the hotel was attached to a Tony Roma's which was quite convenient. We would stay there again, but we would not get the romance package as we did not feel it was worth the cost.
Good place to have a BIG party. Rooms are very large
We had a good time. My wife, daughter, son in law, 2 of our grandchildren and myself went to the reindeer experience. It was a reply good time
Hotel is very dated and needs renovation. Elevators were broken and none of the vending machines worked. I visited the hotel with a group and all of our toilets kept breaking. Our entire party had to use the toilet in another person s room because it was the only one working. There were cobwebs all over our room and the bathroom was moldy and stained. The water quality was poor and tasted bitter while brushing my teeth. Beds were old and mattresses uncomfortable. Overall, I felt as though I was staying in a haunted hotel. Never staying here again.
Beautiful older type hotel. No fridge. Nice pool and grounds.
This place sucks, it's not terrible but I wouldn't stay here again. Kinda reminds me of the hotel in the movie The Shining
Great rooms, customer services, clean, food and fast internet.
Get rid of the pot smokers in the bedrooms, they set the fire alarms off when I was visiting
Very friendly staff and clean rooms. Great breakfast. We got a room on a whim and we were able to get a great price. Will go back.
Pretty place but needs TLC. Mold in room. Dirty linen in bathroom. But cheap.
The Chateau is reasonably priced and is nice enough location to stay if you are in town for business or pleasure
Great rate. Staff always friendly. Clean and Beautiful. Only hotel I stay at while staying in B/N. Any comparable hotel in a major US city, without Covid, would be 5 times the rate. Fountains, sculptures, paintings & fireplaces in the common areas. Actual paintings in the rooms.Truly a local gem. Huge parking lot. Plenty of room if you happen to be pulling a trailer. Coffee in the room. Packaged pastries at the front desk. Outdoor mall right across the (Veterans Parkway) street. Grocery store and restaurants right across the side street.
It was a very nice place rooms where nice the beds are very nice and soft the staff are very nice and helpful
Very accommodating to events and their guests. Include a small fridge and microwave in room. The hotel has a pool, and hot tub. Has a restaurant inside of the hotel, and has others restaurants nearby. The hotel has a very pleasant aesthetic and is overall pleasant.
Good looking place. The tv and ac unit were a little wonky though. Had to fiddle with it to get it to work
Cheaper by far than many other chain options. Nice room and a nice stay.
A bit dated and minimal breakfast but I always enjoy the stay here, price is reasonable, pool, spa and gym nice.
Gorgeous didnt have a room, but the conference rooms were really nice
Very friendly staff. Enjoyed my stay. Could have been a little cleaner. The waffle irons do not work well. Beautiful place.
Front counter lady made it seem like it was the biggest task running up toothpaste to my room. I said whenever you have time and if not I will come down to get it no problem. Had the cleaning ladies replace my pillow 3 times because it had lipstick on it. Every time they just folded the same pillow and put it back on my bed. This could be such a nice place if they cared and cleaned it up a little. Cob webs everywhere, missing shutters on the outside, ripped curtains, black marks on the white walls... just basic stuff you are looking over.
Looks fancy on the outside but pretty rundown sign in the front. It was not lighted at the front. Rooms are average and reflect the "new" reduced prices. Rooms are dated and beds are so-so. It is clean and there is a small fridge and microwave in room. WiFi is pretty bad though...
I have concerns about the longevity of this place given the fact that the hotel owes the City of Bloomington well over $300,000 in taxes...which they owed before! This hotel looks like it was nice 20 years ago and it is geared more toward a wedding situation, not a business traveler. I would not stay here otherwise if my employer was not paying for the room. Fitness Center is ok; pool is depressing.
Very nice venue for a wedding reception. Nice set up, good food, great service.
The hotel is fabulous and the rooms are clean and comfortable. It's nice to have a pool on-site as well as an excellent restaurant. Customer service is the best I've seen
Attended a wedding reception. Food was great and the hall accommoded the number of guests well. My wife and I had a great time celebrating with the bride, groom, family, and friends!
Only non-chain hotel in the area. It's actually a prettier building than i thought it would be and it's sorta 90s old school as far as the rooms go. Not fancy but comfy enough. The front desk staff are all really nice and you can umwind from travel with a glass of wine in the bar/restaurant that is attached. So that's a bonus.
A little outdated an Dusty. But the staff was friendly an very accommodating. A gem in the rough .
Attended a wedding reception at the hotel. The dining staff and conference room decor were nice enough, but it seems the hotel has a rustic feeling, but not a modern rustic touch. Also, wish other parts of the hotel had more signage to different locations, we entered one door according to a map, but the conference center was no where to be found.
This was a decent hotel but is not 100% state of the art. The location is very good and is convenient to many shops and restaurants in the Bloomington/Normal area.
Room was very clean and the hotel staff went above and beyond to make my stay pleasent.
A little old but clean. Attached restaurant service was slow.
Beautiful lobby atmosphere but the jacuzzi was not operational which diminished the experience slightly
The rooms do need updating. The food service and quality of food for meetings is not up to par. The IT staff need to maintain the sound equipment and make sure it is ready for meetings that are taking place.
The motel has some nice rooms, but the restaurant is expensive. Going there for meetings is average. Their meeting rooms are not exactly nice and classy looking. They are very plain.
Location is fine. Rooms were supposed to be remodeled but look like garbage. The bedsheets were stained and had to be removed before I even thought of sleeping in their bed. All I got from front desk was "sorry". Would NEVER recommend.
Everything about my stay was great from the room service to comfort, and everything in between.
Overall bad experience. Only thing we got to choose from for breakfast was a yogurt cup, apple, or box cereal because there waffle machines werent working. A guy we met said he went thru 3 rooms before they got him one to work. Didnt have laundry bags. Girl at counter was too busy promoting her and her bfs own businesses.
Staff is great helpful. But i was only there for delivery my job.
Food was okay, rooms were small but pool was great.
The event was held in the ball room. Was very festive and the service and food was excellent.
Rooms not the cleanest. Silverfish crawling on the walls of the rooms. Swimming pool area was quite disgusting and not clean at all. The hot tub didn't work either. Was in the area for a wedding, but will definitely not be staying again when in the area.
Of course something that looks like a castle should be regal.
Was a really nice place in its day. The rooms are in need of a lot of maintenance. Some still have the old style heat and air units without a thermostat. Nice restaurant on site.
Great looking building with pleasant customer service, however rooms are dated and fairly maintained. Beds are comfortable.
Was just there for meeting. Had a leak in the roof
While breakfast is included and the place is clean, there's allot of maintenance that needs to be done and just isn't. Visited last year and things that needed fixed last year, still needed fixed. It could be an awesome place to stay but it seems that it's just not getting the care it needs to be excellent.
It seems this place is trying to be 2 things at the same time: simultaneously upscale & affordable. They nailed the affordable bit - on a holiday weekend with AAA rates our room was around $70. At those rates it's no surprise they can't keep the place like it looks like was originally intended.
Approaching the hotel the exterior is interesting but the roof looks like it is in need of repair. The inside follows the same theme of tying to be well decorated but some of the upkeep is severely lacking. For example, if you're going to have a chandelier in the room the housekeeping staff needs enough time to dust them on a regular basis. Also, I'd rather have decent toilet paper in the bathrooms (and not the roughest 1-ply I've encountered outside of public school) than lovely bookshelves in the hallways filled with books not really intended to be read.
The pool was HEAVILY chlorinated and grimy, & the sauna was... non-existent. We headed down for the sauna only to find an empty room where it must have been once upon a time. We decided to try out the hot tub instead despite it looking more grimy than I was comfortable with right around the hot tub area. The hot tub was instead warmish since the air coming out of the jets was cool.
On the positive side - the continental breakfast, while not the best I've ever encountered, certainly exceeded expectations. Honestly, the conditions of the place are not surprising considering the price but if I'm staying at a place that inexpensive I'd rather it be simpler & clean than trying to appear fancy but being a little dingy.
This hotel has atmosphere. The rooms are a little dated, but comfortable. It is near many restaurants and grocery stores. The staff is helpful. They do have a SMALL breakfast in the morning, but it is just coffee a waffle and some fruit. Nothing big and would not be considered a continental breakfast.
Elevators frequently broken with guests inside, pool poorly maintained, exterior security not operational. It looks quite fancy on the outside and lobby, but it's clear it's received little love over the years.
The Chateau was great!!! Everyone was really nice and we really enjoyed our stay!!! The atmosphere is really unique and there s cool antique furniture & a lot of history behind this hotel.
Excellent customer service. Everything is very clean and upscale.
My fiance and I were looking into doing our wedding there. Their wedding package is affordable and brittany thy he coordinator was super helpful
The Chateau Hotel and Conference Center is located in Normal, IL on Jumer. I was there for an annual Food Truck event.
Classically beautiful. Good live music on the weekends
I want to say that this place is good.... but it's just ok. Don't get me wrong, it has the potential to be good, just not quite yet. I only paid $65 for the night and I feel if you pay more than that, then you've overpaid. Its an older hotel, think Medieval Times meets an antique store. It's kinda tired.... but it's clean! My room was as expected....old but clean. So if you need a quick, cheap overnight stay....go for it. Pool isn't open, gym isn't open, no bar....but not a total surprise right now.
Very nice.....except for the automatic lights that woke people up when someone went to the bathroom
Beautiful place staff super nice a little misunderstanding with reservations an payments but overall we loved it!
Two years running, the sales staff cannot be bothered with returning phone calls or reserving rooms. This place is a broken down mess. General manager doesn't hold anyone accountable, so apathy or ignorance rules this "castle". At least there's not blood on my sheets this year.
Conference center is looking very worn. Food was ok.
