The room is tiny and filthy. Floors, beds, bathroom, really every is dirty. The website shows something far better than what it actually is to be quite honest. Food is awful and over priced. 10/10 would not come back unless they upgrade and actually clean the rooms. The view is gorgeous, but not worth the $250+ a night.
Last, but not least, the beds are full sized beds, not queen sized as we reserved.

This was our second trip and it was great once again. We stayed right before the Hurricane and the staff were very understanding about everything! It made the unfortunate circumstances much easier to deal with! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Charleston! I would also recommend that anyone staying goes to see our favorite bartender J.D. at the Tiki hut or Reel Bar!

I give one star for the great view of the marina and one star for the helpful front desk staff that was able to get us checked in a little early so our toddler could rest. Overall disappointed with the room itself for the price point, specifically room 428. Fan blades were caked with dust, bathroom door was nearly inoperable, beds were not comfortable and overall condition of room appeared worn.

Lunch at the Fish House was disappointing as well. Very light crowd during our visit and food took an hour. Kids food was the last to arrive, although we asked for it first.

Well I stayed at harbor resort s few years ago and loved it. So I booked it again, they lost our reservation told me they upgraded us, but this time our room had mold in the bathroom, could not see out of the windows due to the humidity in the room, our clothes were damp in the morning and roaches were everywhere in the lobby. I went to the jucuzzi and it was so loud I could not sit in it. The room ended up costing 500.00 for 2 nights after they added all the fees for the resort. They had blowers in the halls. I will never stay again. I asked a women i met at the pool if her room was nice she said she is in the new hotel and had to be moved 3 time due to roaches.

Had a great stay. I felt very comfortable and safe with everything that is going on today. I checked in went to my room. As soon as I opened my door I knew it was cleaned. I love the smell of bleach. If you needed anything they brought it to you. No maid service to clean your room but....I can make my bed make it every day. Everyone was very professional and nice.!!

View was good, but that's about it. Restaurant, closed. Room service, no. Limited menu of garbage that ranks with a high school cafeteria, yes. If you are going to get hammered, this is the place. If you are going to bring the family, read the reviews, this is not the place. Will not be returning to this pricey mistake. Also, they ask when you'll be arriving when you book on their website, don't think that means your room will be ready though.

Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina was quiet, clean, and friendly. The view of the aircraft carrier was beautiful. Unfortunatly, because of Hurrican Florence, we had to leave a day early and didn't have time to tour the site, but the resort was incredibly helpful and gave us a refund for the time we didn't stay. My boyfriend and I would be glad to go back and visit again!

They need to have a snack store, and Improve on the breakfast Menu, the all you can eat for $22 is a bit expensive and there s not that much to eat.
But the facility is very nice and clean and people are very nice.

My review is a mixed one. But of note I ll never stay here again. Check in was not a great experience. Long lines, room was not ready by 4pm check in time, then when we got assigned a room someone else was already staying in it. But the key card worked. When we got our room it was much smaller then expected and we had to ask for towels because it wasn t stocked with wash clothes or hand towels. They provided 4 coffees in room with only 1 cup. The lobby still didn t have coffee out at 9am. Balcony had live wasp nest. Each time we came to front desk there were lines of upset clients. We got the impression that this hotel had became second fiddle and poorly managed since the Beach Club was next door. Harborside was understaffed and offered very little to visitors. I do not blame the staff as they went out of their way to do what they could with staff and resources they were provided.

Management sorry epic fail to your staff and your clients. I m executive at my firm and trust me : People do matter and that includes both clients and your staff. I hope you take note and make changes.

Notable call outs: Sony was so positive and welcoming and gave 150% to make the shuttle service and hotel stay positive experience! Gave us his cell number and made sure folks were taken care.

Reel employees were fabulous but had to run long distances to get food. Which left the bar short handed. One night after asking the front desk 3x for towels for kids in pool it was finally Reel bartender that got them for us.

Great location, friendly staff

Great location, friendly staff
Our room was extremely basic and not worth the cost. Much smaller than photos made it seem and we had no drapes or any artwork on our walls. It had a weird moistness and musty smell. It appeared clean, however. The pool is great, hot tub needs some work, hotel needs general redecorating. To be fair, updating was in progress in the lobby during our stay. A little inconvenient to the guests at times. The cleaning staff left our room door ajar when they finished, which put our belongings at risk.
Despite all of the shortcomings, we needed this vacation so badly we decided to stay an additional night. They gave us the same rate, and we got to stay in the same room, which was great. We recommend the resort, but beware of the misleading photography.

The resort was amazing. The pool and jacuzzi made it even better. My only complaint was that my sheets had a blood stain and were still used on my bed. I'm not too picky so I just flipped them around but still kinda gross. Wonderful stay other than that and plan on returning soon

Spectacular hotel. We stayed at the Beach club. The room was spacious and sparkling clean. The bed was soft and luxurious. The view of the marina was breathtaking. Heated pool. Highly recommend.

My husband and I have stayed here several times and each time it seems to get worse! This last time (Nov 2013) was horrible. The room was disgusting! The carpet was not only horribly stained, but we had to pick up toenails off the carpet - a nice touch! The shower door would not close and you couldn't close the door to the toilet, You could actually feel the springs in the chairs in the room when you sat on them, which was not particularly appealing as they were worn and dirty. The only place to hang our clothes was on a coat rack type arrangement in a corner - no closet! The carpet in the 3rd floor halls was dirty and the carpet in front of the elevator wasn't even squarely on top of the pad. We were told that in 2014 they are going to build an extension to the current facility connecting it to the Fish House restaurant. It looks to us as if someone has decided to not do another thing to the present facility, including even maintain it at an acceptable level!
We ate dinner one evening at the Fish House; the staff was friendly and the food was good. However, the prices were HIGH for both food and drink and the noise was unbearable! We actually had to shout to our waiter to order because it was so noisy! The restaurant was less than half full, but the acoustics are horrible!.
Our last trip to this resort and the Fish House!!!!

A bit overpriced in my opinion, but for the area I guess that's to be expected. The room was nicer than normal chain hotels, the staff was friendly and helpful. The place has a great location, and gorgeous views.

This place is strange, beautiful and being renovated, but the carpet is disgusting, drywall is a mess, the electrical outlets are barely in the walls, our soap dispenser fell off of the wall, and the hot and cold water are reversed. So much potential but poorly implemented as of August 2016.

Rooms have been recently renovated. A new Beach Resort has been built beside it, which is only a few months old. Guest can use pools, hot tubs and all amenities at both. Free van shuttle into Charleston every 2 hrs. From 10am to 10pm, Water taxi across harbor $10 per person all day unlimited use.

I used the Charleston Resort and Marina to host a 2-day offsite meeting for 50+ people. We had several out of town employees stay at the Beach Resort and everyone loved the rooms and the VIEW!!! Everything went perfectly. From the event coordination to the hotel reservation to the food. The ladies I worked with were so nice and really good at what they do. We had a lot of last minute changes and they were very accommodating and flexible with it all. I never write reviews but I just had to tell everyone about our wonderful experience here. I will most certainly use them again in the future! A couple shout-outs to Georgia, Kellsey, Emily, Lindsay, and all the staff members that helped for all your hard work and Charleston hospitality. Thank you so so much!!

Great place to get away. Every one super friendly. Depending what side of resort your room is get to watch sailboats, cargo ships, and more. Short walk to see the USS Yorktown carrier, battle ship, and submarine. To top it off beautiful sunsets.

Seems like mixed review everywhere. I stayed here as a last "resort" because most of Charleston was already booked. At almost $300 a night, this facility is NOT up to par. All the resources seem to go to the Harbor Club (which is NOT a $400+ a night room either). Here are my experiences:
1) A bathroom door that practically needed a crowbar to open and close. Management tried and gave us fluff answers that it's normal. I even compared to other guest rooms and those glided using 3 fingers. - 1 star
2) As indicated below by other guests, floor was a bit dusty and the rooms, while well designed, needed serious repairs. We had a cracked sink with slow drainage and a bed that felt like moss - 1 star
3) The staff communication is terrible, over promising and under delivering. However, NOT to their fault as they are try to keep a sinking boat afloat. When it mattered, they stepped up, problem is they shouldn't have to go through such hurdles to please guests. - 1 star

TO THE HIGHER MANAGEMENT: Give your staff something to be proud of. They are not being trained properly. Seems like nothing but warm bodies. As an owner of a electric vehicle, I only found out on the last day I could charge my car up front since I had a 300 mile road trip coming up. Gentlemen named Sunny was very helpful about this. I asked other associates upon check-in and the night before, they didn't even bother suggesting that. That lack of initiative comes from above. Guests will forget about the physicality of the facility if the experience is better. As a hotel consultant, your business is only lasting because of the adjacent property and the access to the water. - 1 star

To other potential guests. For the same price, you could be staying at a 4 or 5 star hotel in downtown. I would suggest that as the Marina is only a few blocks away...

Absolutely beautiful hotel. The staff were top notccomfortable beds and jetted tub. Gorgeous pools and hot tub and I loved the rocking chairs throughout. The one thing that I would recommend to make it even better would be a breakfast included but we were able to experience some great food though.

No amenties available. Restaurants and bars were not open as scheduled. Dont waste your time or money. It is a beautiful waterfront property with the poorest service I have ever experienced.

Nice, clean rooms, friendly staff, good food and lots of fun things to do made our overnight stay very enjoyable. The pools are beautiful with a wonderful harbor view of Fort Sumter, the Yorktown and the Ravenel Bridge. Fish House food is excellent, and we were permitted use of the facilities for several hours after checkout. Highly recommended.

Two minor complaints are the bathroom sliding doors are heavy and don't close all the way, and the food service at the The Reel Bar was slow, but friendly. We plan to return for another stay!

Small room compare to others. Pay for parking they hold 50 a day till you leave. For anything you buy. Ours was 200.00 and they didn't mention it. I did mention it to them. They should tell guests. They did take it off. Beach you can't swim in but they have a pool. The air didn't work right. The room smelled funny like a skunk. Twice. I think they had one running around the hotel outside. We will not be coming back. The elevators didn't work all the time.

Great hotel, loved the location. Close to all attractions without the busy city feel. Offers trolly service to Local tourist attractions but we chose to drive our own vehicle. My kids loved the heated pool and hot tub at the neach resort. No breakfast is served but many local restaurants close by. We loved Page's Okra Grill. We will visit again .

Very large hotel, less than 10 minutes walk from Patriots Point. Spacious and clean room. Only in the: it lacks small ordinary maintenance such as the change of light bulbs, mattress and pillows too soft (but these are personal tastes) and the engine of the fridge that stuck at night was a bit noisy. But they are really little things! For the rest, very satisfied! Very nice view of the pool and water! Come back!

It doesn't get any better than this. The resort is breathtakingly BEAUTIFUL. Whoever decorated the resort should win an award. It is perfect and beautiful! The service is outstanding! The staff gave great recommendations for where to eat and what to do. We could see the USS Yorktown from our balcony! Taking the Museum tour is a MUST! The resort had a bus that provided transportation to downtown Charleston. There's a great restaurant just steps away. It was cold when we went, but they have a heated pool, a huge hot tub, and two awesome large gas fire-pits where we sat and watched the sunset most evenings. The rooms were very spacious, the spa was fabulous and so relaxing. The marina is right there, so renting a boat is so easy. This was a fabulous little get away, and we'll definitely be back!

Tiny room & bath. AC sounded like a locomotive. Construction noise was very loud. They are doing the pool over. Pictures on website are very deceiving. They must have been taken when the hotel was new. All the woodwork was dirty. Bathrooms are old. Please review your room charges carefully. They tried charging us for a day we weren t even there. The Harbor view is beautiful and the Beach Club next door is very beautiful wish I stayed there.

Docked at the marina and fueled here in late October 2018. The staff were friendly, the docks had good power, and the facilities were clean. We went to the Fish House for dinner and we all enjoyed our dinners. They have Valvtect Fuel and it was competitively priced with other marinas in Charleston. I would reccomend this marina and would stop here again. Please give a thumbs up if this review or my photos were helpful

Under renovation, phone in room didn't work, paint sprayed over windows, no privacy sheer either. $12 resort fee, for what. Not worth the money. Furnishings outdated and thermostat in room was broken and couldn't be adjusted.

Rooms are nice and clean. No tea available in room, may sound trite but if you drink tea and not coffee it matters. No breakfast, have to go to the other side of the neighboring hotel. $22 buffet that was not very good. You hear everything above you so go for the top floor. Have to say for the money very underwhelmed. We stayed at a $100 Country Inn on the way here and it beat this all the way around. They had the best staff and their breakfast was delicious and free.

These guys are unprofessional and uncaring...they lost my reservation and did NOTHING. Just, oh well we can t find you in the system.

I booked a month ago. They also lost other reservations...I heard the discussions. It s called overbooking.

We responded to a deal offered by Groupon. To start with, we we're not able to get the low groupon rate as the dates were in the middle of the week so we opted to pay more and book on a weekend. On checking into the hotel, we we're told that our room was a "handicap room" and on the 4th floor. We are not handicapped. I requested something different and they gave us keys to a room on the 2nd floor. We took our luggage up and we're shocked at how shabby the room was. The room had 1 bed, 1 desk and chair and a large space where another piece of furniture must have been. The curtains were hanging off the window and the room smelled. There was no button on the phone to call the front desk so I had to call them from my cell phone. I was eventually transferred to the Manager who had no satisfactory option so we left. We are from Charleston and thought it would be a nice "Staycation". I'm appalled that any travelers coming into our area would think this hotel is standard for our city. Do not stay there.

Everything at the Charleston Harbor Resort is great. Resturants are not that far from the Resort and the beach is only 10 minutes away by car. The only problem I had there was that at night there would be a lot of noise around the motel from diffrent things going on around it.

Great place but it's new and they are still trying to figure out the outside pool bar. there were 5 bartenders/ servers standing behind the bar doing nothing while we waited endlessly for drinks but I'm sure it will get better once they figure it out

I booked this hotel online never seeing the site. It seemed like an upscale resort charging resort fees and parking fees or valet fees, which I was fully aware of when I booked the reservation. I was disappointed when I showed up to see a smaller parking lot. I didn't see a valet which was fine due to the size of the lot, but the option was listed. Check in was quick and easy. I thought I had booked harbor view, but I had a view of the parking lot with what was supposed to have a balcony which was only a rail outside a sliding glass door, no where to stand, much less sit. Our air conditioner sounded as if there was a pile driver inside it, no sleeping in this room for the night. I called to guest services and requested the ac to be looked at. The maintenance man came up and adjusted a rattling drum in the ac by shoving a pencil between the drum and side. This didn't fix the issue. I called down to guest services again and was told they were fully booked and could not move us. I asked for a manager that was able to find us another room. The room was a little larger which was nice and the air conditioner was quiet. We were happy enough here to sleep. There is a hotel bar downstairs which serves food. It has a nice atmosphere and the servers were awesome. There is a Fish House close by that I didn't try, but it is convenient. Apparently there is also a rooftop bar, but we didn't visit there either. The resort fee includes shuttle service into downtown but I never saw it run. There is also a water taxi that will pick you up here and take you to various locations for a fee. Housekeeping didn't come in while we were there, which we would have liked. Overall great concept, but customer service needs a slight adjustment in certain areas and definitely could use some increased maintenance.

This is a very late (I mean very late lol) but my husband and I spent our honeymoon here back in January of 2017! Talk about a beautiful place!! The rooms were always very clean and the bed was super comfortable! At the time it was slightly dated to me but I still thought it was beautiful! The view from our balcony was spectacular!! Even saw dolphins from there!! Breakfast was always delicious and the customer service was fantastic! We were also extremely impressed with the fish house on the resort!! Having the shuttle to go to town was very nice as well! I had the best steak I ever ate there!!! We will be going back on our Fifth anniversary!!
