Lovely welcoming space and staff. Despite it's location, it's surprisingly quiet and the unassuming facade provides a nice break from the bustle of Midtown. Modern, well appointed rooms that are clean, although slightly bummed not to see pancakes on the room service menu.

Awesome hotel. The shower is amazing, the bed is so comfortable, the room is large and the room with a balcony had a lot of space and amazing views. Love this hotel. Highly recommend it. The staff is also amazing.

Very nice boutique hotel excellently place for Manhattan business or shopping, and only a short walk from Central Park. I stayed here on business but many of the famous names in shopping were very close by, if that's what floats your boat. Very helpful staff, comfortable rooms, and excellent location. The only thing that let's the hotel down is the restaurant (that also serves breakfast), Momofuku. We had a pretty disastrous breakfast here, which was surprising given the rave reviews it often receives. The first day we were here as a business party we ordered a few breakfasts. The coffee served was truly disgusting and had obviously been stewing for a good couple of hours. Over easy eggs came as over well, another breakfast arrived with practically raw sausage, and another came with bacon when sausage had been ordered. My over easy eggs somehow turned up as scrambled. There were next to no other people there at the time, so it was hardly because they were busy, and the staff member serving sadly didn't seem in the slightest bit interested. This was a real shame as the rest of the hotel and the stay there was fabulous. My advice is definitely stay at the hotel, but avoid the restaurant (certainly for breakfast).

Great location - hidden fees. This hotel has an awesome location and is good value for the money. The front desk staff, however, was not particularly friendly and seemed mostly concerned whether services were included in an amenity fee which showed up on the bill unannounced at checkin or checkout, and which adds no amenities whatsoever apart from than those normally expected at hotels of this standard. Expect to add 22.50 per night.

Loved the zen vibe of the lobby. Front desk and concierge were first rate. Room decor was hip. On the negative side, mattress was very firm. They allow dogs, which means some barking when other guests leave their dogs in the room. Biggest negative was "free" internet/breakfast/health club, covered by $28 per day per person charge (how is that free). Breakfast was cold cereal, OJ and coffee that they were slow to replenish. Bread and Butter a few doors down is good for breakfast, lunch, or snacks/drinks.

I have previously stayed at the Chambers a few years back and the service was impeccable. The staff was amazing and the rooms were amazing. This stay things were different. When we came to check in the front desk agent told us that our deposit could only be on credit card, but other guests were able to pay with other means. Also the beds were very firm and uncomfortable.

The beautiful hotel is situated in a quiet area close to Kobe and Kemps. We stayed here for a few days before the departure of a crisis. This hotel is the perfect choice because it is off the cruise terminal and convenient public transport. The shuttle from Kansai Airport is also very good, efficient and affordable. I highly recommend a taxi for this hotel.

Amazing location near Trump Tower, Central Park, and Rockefeller Center! Rooms were large and decorated well! Bathrooms featured glass waterfall showers and incredibly soft towels! Staff was friendly and knowledgeable! Be sure to stop by the Milk Bar attached to the hotel! We loved our stay here! The only things we didn't care for were that the keys were traditional metal keys, though that may be seen as a feature. Also, the mini-fridge was so packed with purchase-able drinks that we couldn't put things into it. When removed some of the drinks to put our own good in, the food was barely kept cold.

This place is sort of a first cousin to the Aloft style of hotel, only better. Yes, the rooms are small and a little under lit, but all is made up for by an outstanding staff. Everyone from the doorman, to the desk, to the maids are friendly and caring. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are quiet as a tomb. Location is very close to Central Park.

If possible, I would like to give the hotel 6 stars. The staff is amazingly friendly, helpful, nice and accommodating. The rooms are v. A. for New York standards very large and very nicely decorated. In the morning there is free daily newspaper, coffee, tea and water. I feel very well. If you come to New York, stay here.

If i could give more than five stars I would. Checked in Sunday evening with my wife and two young daughters. Hotel staff was beyond pleasant and professional (which I find rare in NYC these days). The gentlemen at the front desk was extremely helpful, engaging with my children (gave them two teddy bears which they loved) and he was helpful with suggestions on where to go after we had checked in. Room is clean and spacious and the hotel is quiet for being so well located. I would come again, I would certainly recommend..

Hotel is pretty expensive but that is to be expected due to the location. However after departing, 3 of the 4 people we were traveling with who all used their credit cards at this hotel, had their cards cloned and money stolen from their bank accounts within two weeks. This was the only location that all 3 people used their cards. We have phoned the hotel to inform them but beware if you have stayed or will be staying in the near future as their system may not have been fixed if compromised or the employee stealing information is working at the location.

I had a reservation for Saturday night. My first impression thus far was horrific. I do understand that I m entering into New York where the culture is indeed different. This is my first time to New York and traveled five hours from VA to get here.
When arriving to check in, I think the front desk manager s name was Brandon or so he said he was the manager (later I found out he wasn t) I stood there and just if anyone is going to assist me and check me in. Brandon then abruptly said, Ma am you re being rude and do you not see me talking to my colleague? I was literally stunned by what he said especially in a customer service hospitality industry. Brandon also gave my friend Ben (whose listed on this reservation as well) a hard time too. I do not understand why Brandon gave both of us a hard time. In my head I was thinking, is it my skin color, is because I may appear younger looking, is it because he is having a bad day, or 10 million other reasons why I didn t receive the customer service I deserve to have like any other guest. Anyway we checked in and decided to go out when we came back the real manager apologized to us and tried everything she could to make it right, she offered us wine, etc but the damage was done. It s so sad that when I do go back to NY i wont be going back here.

Very nice and clean hotel. Location perfectly close to centralpark and 5th avenue. Offers room incl. Breakfast. This does not offer much. Muesli coffee tea bananas and o juice.Sweet bread. No butter or jam no toast

The room (corner king) I stayed has a good size and it is clean. The shower is amazing, but the design of the bathroom table turns it not so comfortable because the objects fall of. The breakfast is honest although there aren t enough table for everyone. At least there are sofas we can use to take the breakfast.
Also there are some amazing amenities: water and chocolate every afternoon in the room and wine at happy hour. Some tips of what to do in the city are delivered to the room every Friday.

The reception is too informal, although they are in general very kind. The bed doesn t have headboard.

Excellent location. The room very clean and the bed a joy. Not so the sofa that my children nailed the springs. Excellent service (Thanks Jose). The only thing that could be improved is breakfast. Very scarce. The buns with unpleasant taste. But if I go back, New York would repeat

Fantastic customer service! When I arrived at the hotel to check in, I realized that the lock on my suitcase was malfunctioning and wouldn t open. Without even having to ask, the front desk was immediately on the phone with the suitcase manufacturer in order to locate the closest retail store to find a solution. Within 30 minutes, I had my suitcase lock fixed in working condition thanks to the hotel employees. It wasn t a bother or an inconvenience to this hotel - they truly wanted to help me solve my issue and they did so with a smile. Very, very rare in the hotel industry these days and I HIGHLY recommend that you consider The Chambers for your next NYC visit.

Fabulous. Delightfully stylish boutique hotel/art gallery..A heaven in the bustle around in NYC. Loft living furniture and original paintings in the very clean airy room. Fine lawn bedding. Very well stocked tuck box and fridge. Huge wardrobe. Best monsoon shower ever. Full size toiletries. Perfect location. Two blocks from central park and same block as Fifth avenue..and Trump Tower. Simple artisan breads breakfast. Good restaurants in the same street. Italian and Chinese plus 'Bread and butter', a sandwich / buffet shop. Greeted at the door by a smiling chap who valet parked our car. And welcomed by highly professional staff at reception and notrs from the manager. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I LOVE this hotel! It's cozy, friendly and cannot beat the location. The BEST part of the rooms are the showers! BEST.SHOWER.EVER!
Super accommodating! My only complaint is that they double the prices in December...Prices go from $258 to $466. I know many places do that.

Let s take a week down this street

You can eat Indian, sushi, Korean, dumplings, Szechuan, steak, high class Italian or eat at 2 food markets

It is close to Central Park and Rockefeller Plaza along with some great stores and of course 2 Starbucks

The Chambers itself has a small lobby. They have two pan Asian restaurants as well as the Milk Bar to the left

There is a fireplace as well as a second floor. Doesn t have the buzz of a Hudson, but it is nice

The rooms are amazing by NY standards. There is plenty of room with a bed, desk and recliner...way more than the micro hotels so popular in this city

However, the best part is the rainfall shower. You are saturated by water. I have been in a shower quite like this

Service of course was pleasant and efficient my whole time

So exquisite, so charming, so artistic. Every single detail is well thought of. From the special soap bar to the art work on the walls or even the bedding and the textiles of the furniture, all is carefully chosen and has a non-commercial feeling. Truly, it is one of the best hotels I have visited ever.

Attempted to book this hotel on November 12th. On my way to the hotel with my luggage I received a call that the hotel had overbooked. Things like this understandably happen, but chambers hotel was not able to locate another reservation for me. Instead they blamed the problem on someone else and essentially left me in thr middle of new york city without a hotel reservation. Completely unacceptable and not what you would hope for after paying more than $500 for a room.

I've stayed at the Chambers Hotel several times, and every time my experience has been wonderful. The rooms are very nice, the restaurant and bar downstairs are wonderful, and the staff are happy to give recommendations about the surrounding area.

The room was simple and clean. The shower was a rainfall shower and simply amazing. The staff was very courteous. 2 blocks from Central Park, lots of restaurants around to choose from. Someone said their room was noisy, the only time mine was was when I had opened the sound proof windows. Would stay again.

I agree with the reviews regarding the art deco design. It s truly intriguing, especially the glass elevators.
The accommodations are more than fair in terms of space and quality. The shower pressure is superb and the toilettes are good quality. The shower wall doesn t prevent water from splashing onto the floor which is an area of improvement.
The staff are great, completely professional and will go above standard to make sure you re comfortable and feel welcomed! Derric and Liz stood out as a great team making sure I wasn t being ripped off by local vendors :) The cleaning staff are just as friendly.
This is now my go to hotel for nyc. I m looking forward to my next visit.

Well, not only did I not get the (always TabletPlus hopeful) upgrade, but I actually got DOWNgraded from the studio suite I had booked to their most basic room. However, they didn't bother to tell me this when I checked in - my price paid & room selection were correct on my inbound paperwork that I signed (with the rate included), but the room they delivered was a basic, small queen room.

The explanation I got when I called the desk just after entering my room was that a guest was sick and could not be moved. Um, OK. That's fine, I get stuff happens. BUT, the unforgivable part of this experience for me was that I had to CALL them on the DOWNgrade and in return they gave me $25 off per night - but, again, only after I just checked in and confirmed my rate at the suite rate.

It's just nickle-and-dime garbage that I don't have time for - I wanted the bigger room this trip because I was going to be doing several hours of work from that room and wanted the extra space. That they tried to overcharge me for a basic room and tried to slip it by me. I kept hoping that they'd come to me with a better resolution than $25 off per night, especially because of the clearly shady nature of this transaction. Very disappointing.

Just piss poor. Never again.

(BTW, this is the 3rd review I have written in my life. Typically a very understanding and flexible guy, this just rubbed me way wrong)
