Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX) Review

I ride the bus almost everyday, but still don't understand the Times it shows online with the actual time they ride by... so why if this guy is driving early, he don't see ppl waiving at the bus. #15 is spose to be at Valencia college and chickasaw corner at 6:50am but here I was standing at the corner when he drove making the turn behind a school bus, when I saw him I wave and ran but no... when I make it to the stop that is 30 feet from the corner I look at the time 6:46am... Really disappointed.

Well managed and big service area....there's homeless people all over so that aspect don't bother me. The diner inside the station has good food and is priced reasonably.

Try to get here early because the buses are never on time.

This has to be The Worst Public Transportation system Ever!! The multiple events that have occurred to me in the last week with Lynx is the most disgusting and revolting service that I have ever paid for!
If I could give 0 stars I would without any regret.

Plenty of buses to transport you almost anywhere in the City of Orlando and the rest of Orange County.

Incredibly unreliable, especially the 40 which tend to be 10-30 minutes late every day and should come ever 30 minutes like the 21 and 37, rude and reckless drivers, poor customer service. This is literally the worst bus company I've ever had the displeasure of using. The drivers constantly overshoot the stops and then hit the breaks, hit the gas after the last person pays nearly knocking anyone over who is trying to take their seat, slam on the breaks while driving in general. Someone is going to end up getting injured and suing the crap out of Lynx.

Worst. Company. Ever. Never on time. I almost died because of this company. The entire system of operations needs to be shut down and rebuilt from the ground up. They have wasted my time and money, and are the reason my 70 year old grandfather had to drive 10 miles in the middle of the night because the disgraceful driver decided to end his shift early. Some of the worst days of my life are directly attributed to this sham of a transit.

Always late.. then when on time the bus always a drop off only ... the lynx bus system really is a poor system

This literally has to be the worst public transportation ever I advise you guys to keep your two dollars they are literally never on time I was an hour late to work and got FIRED. I literally hate this transportation so much Orlando needs better transportation the buses are always super dirty and so overcrowded. I advise uber or even taxi yeah it might be expensive but at least you'll get there on time.

When my wife and I was getting on the route #104 bus #633 bus night driver he got my wife strapped in her power chair but when it came to me he was a JERK rude because I had my wheelchair full of items some was bulky in the wheelchair he didn t help me strap my wheelchair in he just looked @ me went pass start driving the bus. I won t be riding the route 104 or riding what that JERK night bus driver again.

The drivers are usually rude, the station is in a state of disrepair and the buses frequently malfunction. Stay away for your own good.

The most DISGUSTING bathrooms I have ever seen. People bathing and shaving in the bathrooms. Piss all over the floor and toilet seats. Use this bathroom if you want to get Hepatitis.

Good service, punctuality, responsibility, attention, comfort, security, all together in charge of this company.

Bus driver saw a friend and decided to have an hour conversation instead of making sure everyone had to be where they needed on time.... I was an hour late to work..... Not happy at all.....

Read all bad comments, probably true. They are very bad at timing and sometimes they don't even show up! I waited two hours for a no show. This was in the afternoon too. Just awful.

Well lynx is the worst transit system (at least in the United States), I've ever seen. The busses consistently run ahead (mornings, weekends and holidays) and behind (afternoon/night) schedule. The drivers are incredibly incompetent and typically have no idea where they even are. Ask one directions and see! The only people they can seem to keep employed are the otherwise unemployable. They fraternize excessively with, racially and sexually harass the passengers. If you complain about the service the customer service department basically provides you with some empathy and the company does absolutely nothing to fix the problem. Typically only the incredibly poor ride the bus here, so you'll be sitting amongst the ratchetest of the ratchets. The routes are so long and slow it typically takes about 2 1/2 hours to get somewhere that's 15 minutes by car. You typically have to connect with another bus which uhm well, good luck with that! Now your 2 1/2 hour commute becomes 3 1/2 hours, if you have good luck that day. The stops are typically uncovered (in rainy, super hot Florida) and lynx claims are about 2 blocks away from each other. Apparently this calculation equals stopping every 10 seconds on busy roads or about every few miles in less populated areas. This is all good if (and only if) the driver considers where you're standing to be the "official" stop. This seems to be subject to interpretation with the drivers and is notoriously known as the lynx "drive by." I don't know, maybe the driver just couldn't see the guy in the prison jumpsuit. As friends and I have said, Lynx is great (if you have nothing to do and all day to do it) otherwise beg, borrow and steal to avoid it.

Edit: Well I've searched far and wide from Florida to California and now even Alaska to find transit worse than Lynx. Im now proud to announce that LYNX IS NUMBER ONE AT BEING THE WORST NATIONWIDE! Congrats Lynx on being good-at-something good-for-nothings!

The worst bus company in the world. The buses are ALWAYS late. Often times they dont even come so u have to wait a whole hour for the next bus. Ive taken public transit all over North America and Lynx is BY FAR the worst company. Very unreliable!

So since my last entry i have been passed by by two seperate buses. The driver just drive right by. I know they saw me as i was standing at a lit and covered bus stop. Then today the #15 was supposed to be there at 945ish but it never came so i had to wait for the next bus which was supposed to be there at 10:15ish and that bus was 15 minutes late. THEN on the way gome from work the 4:15 was ten minutes late but when the idiot driver pulled in be said 'im taking a break"and dissapeared inside bus terminal never to return.so i had to wait for the next bus to come in and depart.
Lynx doesnt give a crap about the people they serve.our time is irrelevant.IF LYNX WAS ANY OTHER COMPANY THEY WOULD BE SHUT DOWN! unexcusable and borrible service and customer relations.embarrassing

I like the service, but coming from a bigger city, I'm use to buses running more frequently and having more routes. Overall, it's a great service.

It's a well designed building with free wifi, a quick stop restaurant, air conditioning, and seating BUT it's also a hangout spot for the homeless and plenty of crazy sketchy people roam around here. Lastly there's security guards that do little to nothing about people acting completely obnoxious, like a drunk guy who almost fell on me while these guards just stood there watching.

This bus are never on time even with the tracker services. Either there new driver's they make the wrong turn and I could see them make the wrong turn. This is been going on since 2005 and it's 2019 nothing change. Fyi the bus driver number 21 she always has an attitude problem. We all human just because someone is homeless doesn't mean you have rude and banging on the seat like who the hell are you to treat people like that. In the end of the day she doesn't know her own moral's. She African American one day she could be in there shoe's she just doesn't know. Lynx be hiring some drivers with zero respect for others.

It is good. But I don't like it. There are drivers. They don't charge them to the blacks and wait for them until they go to the stop or until they pass the street and a Hispanic doesn't give it the same.

I really like the buses and love the station and your guys food is awsome

Your internet service doesn't work on half your your busses and when it does half of the websites you try to visit are blocked

Lynx need to shut down horrible bus drivers and company.they need to extend the bus hours by two hours i always ask when lynx is going out of business

Good Central station but tons of homeless and dodgy people hanging around.

Not all but most of the bus drivers will literally drive past you. They pretend they dont see you coming the pretend the dont see you sitting or standing at the stop its crazy.

Bus Drivers allowed to sit somewhere and skip a full hour of driving please do not count on being on time with the Lynx. 9/10 You will be late and if you are waiting in an area where not a lot of people wait you ll be waiting 2 To 2 1/2 hours for a bus driver to decide he wants to pick up passengers. The times on google maps is also wrong and the time they have on their maps are also wrong since buses can come when they want. Moral of the review get a bicycle if you can t get a car counting on the bus isn t worth it when they can t even control their drivers. Hope this helps.

Please do not use Lynx. Their bus did not show up for a scheduled stop even after waiting 30 minutes. I missed a job interview and now am out of a possible job. I called in to receive a refund for an unused busspass which i bought through the mobile app and the representative repeatedly said they do no refunds. This is why Lynx has a 1.9 star rating. Your company is sloppy.

Bus # 48 and 49 need to run every 15 minutes instead of 30 minutes!! Homeless people get on there with so many bags and dirty smell lol@!!

Terrible service all the time. The 21 is always late or delayed for hours. No matter if I get up earlier to catch it or not. I m late to work often.
Whichever blacc man drives the BUS 105 is always rude as hell. Everytime I catch it he rude. He acts like he knows me or something. Another BLACC driver on BUS 11, he s an older guy with a fat belly looks suspiciously gay, he was very rude to me as well. Myself and two other passengers were on the bus before the driver closed the doors. I guess they switched drivers and a lady from outside of the bus complained that we were on the bus (Bcaz the previous driver let us on the bus). So the new driver told two of us (who were also blacc) to get off of the bus, but he left the white man. I was trying to explain to the driver what happened and he found it funny to horribly mocc my accent instead of listening. The older male blacc bus drivers are always rude and disrespectful. They need to be fired for such horrible attitudes and service.

I m not one to write reviews but this is the worst transportation service ever. I ve lived here for 10 years and no matter how early I plan ahead you get one of two things. You get lucky and all the buses are back to back from each other or you get the gap where ones don t show up for hours. Don t take if you ever want to be on time.

You're better off walking, or asking a friend for a ride. NOT joking. The 104 route, which connects downtown to UCF is consistently late by a laughable degree. Today I tried the 104 and it didn't come for 2 HOURS! What kind of public transportation is this? If you're relying on Orlando public transportation to get to work or school on time, you WILL be late and will probably lose your job. I GUARANTEE you will miss classes and your employers will be very upset. Don't say you were not warned! Stay away from the LYNX busses!

The bus sistem would be an excellent choice if everyone there do ther part.. Driver's and Supervisors when we approach yes we got questions and complaints you shouldn't be giving up no disgusting attitude for doing your jobs.. Clueless when asked about times and stops.. Instruct yourself on the tasks on hands!! And no all excuses are valid some of us got a understanding about the job you guys performed..

I'm a little perturbed. Recently they altered my bus route without my knowledge and now it takes nearly 10-15 minutes longer to get to work. I depend on getting to work at a certain time so I can catch the bus on time once I clock out. The route to work is longer and comes in contact with way more traffic, and the same can be said for the outbound route. The new outbound route goes right through the heart of downtown orlando instead of taking robinson st. out the side, avoiding so much traffic. I feel like I'm tacking on a couple extra hours on to work without getting paid because of the time it takes to commute just 7 miles each way to and from work/home. I had a perfect thing going with Lynx, and the schedule was to the minute. Everything was working like a well oiled machine, but now I find myself cutting lunch early so I can make up the time just to catch a ride before rush hour gets so horribly congested it takes twice as long to get home. Definitely disappointed, and I hope this is temporary.

I appreciate this bus service. Bus driver with the Identification number 1985 has provided myself and others with excellent service and has allowed us to feel safe while riding the lynx bus due to his expertise in driving and assisting riders. Thank you to all the honest bus drivers who communicate professionally. As for the the rude or emotionally incapable ones please quit your job because your unprofessional attitude is a hazard to the bus riders and others on the road.

Hands down, the very worst bus company that has ever existed. Customer service is a joke, the drivers treat the bus schedule like polite suggestions. This company should be closed down and replaced with a non-privatized city bus.

The busses are always late, and even pass right by you while your waiting at a stop. Dont bother trying to leave earlier, youre screwed either way.

Today August 8, 2020 at about 4:28 pm I was traveling westbound I4 in the right lane to exit at Anderson almost in front of the Orlando Magic Stadium. It turns out that 2 of your buses left from Colonial to I4, without caring about anything, they threw themselves without reducing and without caution to the left to take I4 just as I was passing in other words they threw the bus almost on top of my bus a black tiguan , the only thing I could do was hit the brakes so as not to hit the bus because, I couldn't pull to the left since cars were coming and the person who was coming behind almost collided with me because of these 2 irresponsible drivers, they threw themselves to the left No matter if cars came, just stop and honk, the driver just looked in the mirror and continued. They are irresponsible driving, at least the drivers of these two buses seem to have given him the license. They almost gave me my bus and they were going to cause a tremendous accident. If there are cameras in the area you can verify, the first bus had route 50, the second had no marked route and they were heading west as for Downtown Disney. I would like some number or some place where I can report this event today. They are irresponsible driving, thank God I don't get older.

Waited at a bus stop on a Saturday for well over an hour. Almost 2hrs

I ran down the block one day and i know the bus driver saw me because we made eye contact and when i finally got to the bus stop my body got weak and i basically passed out, this bus didnt even stop, it slowed down and when i got back up it was already leaving.... plain out rude bus drivers, i havent once ever seen a nice bus driver. route 436

It's fun and reliable. But we need it 24 hours and 7 days and nights and weekends.

Bus 21 is the worst bus to ride....it's never on time

Bus #38, just drove rite past me at the stop by 6500 International Drive. 3/16 @ 5:56! They want people to pay $50 a month for a pass, but dont wanna stop and pick up their customers... Poor service.

As an Orlando native I grew up riding the bus. Over the years they have increased their fleet and routes but have not improved customer service or rider comfort. If major improvements are to come to Lynx, riders must be willing to pay and unfortunately, we are either unwilling or can't afford to. Not to mention townhall meetings on the topic is not well attended by those who seem to have the most complaints which leave Lynx to assume all is well. And so the poor service continues.
If you're going to ride, take an earlier bus than you normally would. That way the you don't arrive late, even if the bus does. Afterall, it's YOUR responsibility to get to where you're going. They are just a service and can't guarantee anything. Two, always have a backup. I've had to ride a bike, walk or use Lyft because my calculations determined Lynx is not reliable at the moment.
No, it's not the best public transportation system but until the public demands better via strike or is willing to attend the meetings to voice their opinions, this is all you get.

The 108 from Kissimmee is consistently late. Drivers take breaks even though he's behind

Most of the drivers are rude, always making cossecions for their regulars or favorites. I ride bus number 13 with a buss transfer, for some reason the machine says it was invalid, when clearly the date and time were right. The bus driver super rude, make me pay again. Ironically the person behind me had the same problem and he let her ride without pay extra. When I ask him why I have to pay and she didn't over the same problem he said, I done talking to you. At longest I can I rather take a uber cab, or the train.

Bus 21 from Dr phillips hospital is forever late especialy on the weekend because they knw we cant call the office to find out y the bus is takin a long time..i wonder if u guys cancelled the 07:36 am bus from the hospital coz we wait till 08:20 waitin on a bus that eas suppose to have arrived at 07:36...pliz try to improve the service from Dr phillips hospital

some buses are indeed late.WHY IS IT SO COLD IN THE BUSES?!?!?!?? it is freezing! I saw people wearing winter jackets just to ride the bus. The bus drivers I got were all nice. Sometimes people riding the buses are not the nicest....once I had to endure two women yelling at each other in French for more than 30 mins..... Rides are cheap so thats a plus

If I could put a 0 I would they dropped me off 9 MILES away from my turn I HAD TO WALK from 8 pm to 3 in the morning! No joke it pissed me off! I was so tired my father had to come pick me up because I was somehow falling asleep WHILE walking!

After being 35 minutes late the driver didnt pick me up because I was 5 feet from the stop, that was the 40 at 5pm. Then the 4 was 15 minutes late. If you wanna be somewhere on time do not rely on them. Worst monopoly in orlando!

Driver taking break at orange tech. Able bodied people refusing to move or get there things off seats link 1 going to mall. It is a shame driver doesn't speak up. Need bigger signs stating they must move when handicap person comes aboard.

It's a good bus system.Even if you don't know your way around,the drivers will let you know where to go.

LYNX is a public expense, not a business. Before you rate it one star remember that.

Lynx is a very good service if you know how to use the bus correctly. The bus is not a magic carpet, they can not hover around traffic or hurry the slow people that are not prepared with bus fare or bus pass. As far as rude drivers go I don't blame them half of the people on the bus show NO RESPECT at all to the drivers. Step your game up and leave that fast food job and Sea World and maybe you wont need to rely on the city bus and only use it when you don't want to drive in traffic or use your gas.

These services are abysmal.

I use to take the bus everyday and took 4 hours to get back home from Winter Park to Apopka. Bus 41(Or whatever it's called now) was always 10 minutes late which is just enough time to make me miss Bus 44 that only comes once an hour.

The services in Apopka was pretty bad. There is only one bus that goes around the city every 20 minutes but it doesn't stop at any of the shopping plaza.

They are constantly late. Always taking detours even when not necessary. Don't live downtown Orlando and depend on the bus for work and school or whatever. They will disappoint you 50% of the time. They advertise WiFi on their buses, but does not ever have it. Most of the driver's have major attitudes. It's sad. For a big place like Orlando, their buses are running poorly.

I am not kidding when I say this...LYNX IS THE WORSE BUS LINE IN FLORIDA, POSSIBLY THE WHOLE USA. IVE LIVED IN ORLANDO FOR 10 YEARS, TRUST ME, THEY ARE COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE AND THE EMPLOYEES ARE SOOO RUDE! They say the bus runs every 30 mine byt you will literally have your ass out there either burnt because it's way too hot or soaken wet because that's just florida weather. And guess what, THEYRET STILL NEVER ON TIME.

I travel the 8 most days and there are times their on schedule just wish they set the timing right for that route mostly at nights

Link 3 taking detours when it's running late making me miss the bus or get off at a different stop. This public transportation system has serious problems.

I've been taking the bus now, due to my car breaking down. The service needs more buses in certain areas. I travel from Kissimmee hwy192 to poinciana, the round trip takes me almost 6 hours. I like the long ride, but the wait for the buses are lengthy. Also, Sundays/holidays many buses do not operate. That is hard to deal with. otherwise, buses are buses. there is a level of suffering a straphanger must endure everywhere.
