As an Orlando native I grew up riding the bus. Over the years they have increased their fleet and routes but have not improved customer service or rider comfort. If major improvements are to come to Lynx, riders must be willing to pay and unfortunately, we are either unwilling or can't afford to. Not to mention townhall meetings on the topic is not well attended by those who seem to have the most complaints which leave Lynx to assume all is well. And so the poor service continues.
If you're going to ride, take an earlier bus than you normally would. That way the you don't arrive late, even if the bus does. Afterall, it's YOUR responsibility to get to where you're going. They are just a service and can't guarantee anything. Two, always have a backup. I've had to ride a bike, walk or use Lyft because my calculations determined Lynx is not reliable at the moment.
No, it's not the best public transportation system but until the public demands better via strike or is willing to attend the meetings to voice their opinions, this is all you get.
