Centerparcs Heijderbos Reviews

So: the facility is beautifully located in the forest. And when this was before approx. 31 years ago, someone really gave a lot of thought. Unfortunately, the park has run out of heart. Nothing is done with passion. Everything exclusively and only the bare essentials to earn money. Cleanliness and order everywhere poor. Hardly anything repaired. Unkempt playgrounds. Bungalows neglected, poorly cleaned and apart from tv (new flatscreens) and -we have the premium kidnerbungalow- the children's rooms, which were furnished with a nice photo wallpaper of the Ori mascot, everything is from the 80s. Even the outdoor facilities with a spacious water system are not maintained. The water is completely rotten, there are no more fish living in it and the few ducks that are still there will probably soon die because of the bad smell of the pool that runs through the whole complex. Oh, by the way, rats seem to feel quite comfortable in it. Of course, this is also due to the fact that the dear guests naturally feed the ducks lavishly.

The restaurants: all 20% above the normal price level - measured by the quality. Nothing great, no particularly positive surprises, but okay standard all day dining, junk and fast food. Breakfast for 10 to be highlighted positively. Well - but there is no need to fear cuisine like in the Landal and underground service stations. It's okay, but none of the restaurants in our home would need a second visit from us. We did this more often on vacation. Have eaten in all restaurants!

AquaMundo: you will look in vain for relaxation areas or loungers There are cheapest plastic tables and chairs at the edge of the large pool, which has a slippery floor with dirt and rust stains. Same in the other pools. I did not feel relaxed and comfortable.

Animation and show: nice, but please don't expect a professional evening show with brilliant artists, great singers, great effects. Here, too, the heart seems to be missing - so at least the spark hasn't jumped over with me. My kids were also traumatized in another ORI CenterParcs and this is the reason why we are back at CenterParcs.

Children: there are terrible machines everywhere, into which money should be thrown. From mini carousels to cars that everyone knows from the supermarket. Up to a real gambling den for kids in lasvegasstyle. Who like it?!? Unfortunately we don't! We found entertainment to be better in the Eifel, but now then. We like to animate our children ourselves.

Otherwise, many more leisure options on the site. Everything subject to a surcharge.
Trampoline 6 min / 1, - , shuffle 4min / 1, - ; Handcart 8, - a day, 25, - a week ... maybe I'll attach a few photos of prices later. Ah: Incidentally, photos in the Aqua Mundo of the family cost 10 per item. With 4 pieces 35, - if you want them by mail, you pay 50, -. So if someone wants to talk to you about photos in the aquamundo: don't take them!

Conclusion: actually reasonably thought, but implemented with little heart, passion and commitment. Here an investor seems to be squeezing the best possible out of what is there. So my impression after 7 days in a premium bungalow (photos attached) with 4 days breakfast for 1800, -. In total, we left an average of 140, - a day with food and activities (everyone decides for yourself) family of 4, whereby the kids were 0 and 2 years old and are not considered to be full payers and sometimes with a sandpit and playground are satisfied ... so around 2800, - for moderate to poor performance for 7 days! Nevertheless, the thing is full! We still had a great holiday, as there is always and everywhere enough to do for good and bad weather, but cleanliness and passion are important to us and that was not there.

Have been here several times for a weekend and sometimes longer. Very comfortable and you will receive friendly everywhere. Many service staff speak very good German and are very helpful, even if the Dutch is not too powerful. The quality of the houses, as well as the cleanliness, varies greatly between the price categories. However, this seems to me basically the case in these parks.

Completely outdated park, at the reception you stand by for a long time because of the many complaints there are. Especially the comfort and premium bungalows are really tired and dirty, they are not worth their money. In our bungalow the heating in the living room barely worked and it was really dirty. After complaining we received an upgrade to a VIP bungalow, which was fine.

An old park. Houses a bit old but quite good. Fun for the kids. A lot of animation. But the prices for everything whether pizzeria shop or anywhere else in the park is a joke. Too expensive.

Personally, I think that the price performance ratio does not fit. We had a VIP house which had everything as it was described but everything was clapped together old and new did not harmonize. Our terrace was green and dirty, the interiors were all clean that you have to say. The paths and pavement to the bungalow would have to be renewed. The pool was ansich clean only in the wave are very many leaves rumgeschwommen. In the bathroom is also a whitewater slide which I think is not suitable for children under 12 years, as an adult I had to make me stop over water. As a little tip you should bring the rolls to your bungalow should you bring them in immediately. With us it was so that the bird world has incorporated half our bread.

Entertainment was outstanding. The staff was very friendly and could always help in several languages.

The park itself is very spacious and located in the forest. The activities (swimming, sports, mini golf, etc.) are all centrally located and close to each other.

We went to the jungle dome with a group. when we arrived our tickets just didn't work. this was less but they kindly helped us and were able to enter the jungle home. It was very beautiful and very nice for the children

Tell others why you thought it was terrible, this was what I got in my screen. We were hoping for a weekend "get away from it all", after 12 years of annual visits this park is going wrong, unfortunately, completely wrong. After having visited 12 years of comfort, premium and VIP cottages. Because we have our own catering business, we booked a weekend in the weekend for New Year. Unfortunately we knew that it was a busy weekend, (27-30 December) We are average family that do not leave a review, but we do not leave it to the guests / customers. But if bad, don't want to throw a pitch with feathers here, but in this we want to save others from having the same experience as ours! With 8 people a bungalow reserved, upon entering the traces of our previous residents visible everywhere. If you do not have the budget (agricultural business) to be able to go on holiday with 8 people annually, then you hope to be able to find this in the Netherlands. However, we ran across several mosquitoes in EVERY room. Even here not bothered, even in the toilet (4 mosquitoes), to clean this. The brown spots on the ceiling of 2 rooms were unfortunately unavoidable. It was not clear to us what it was, but it was gross and unpleasant, it was certain! Furthermore, there was cleaned, or yes there was made but clean was hard to find. (Hair, sand on arrival, crumbs in fridge - countertop - and communal table.) Furthermore, well paid for a birthday gift package paid, unfortunately garlands were hung on, but accompanying bubbles were missing and even the balloons were not even blown up, but were on the table. All in all very unpleasant, but certainly far from hygienic. All this was for us, to mention this at the reception, while at the request of some house guests not to. (It is still people work they said) Still reported, the lady was told that the cottages from next week to be renovated, new cleaning team would be sent, and a voucher of 30 euros for the food for 8 people?!?! (The breakfast; super! Until the heijderbos, as cheap as possible, 2 chefs who could not keep up with it all (3 days), unfortunately very spoiled, by mostly lake and Kempennennen) But the cleaning came, saw, and vacuumed .. bubbles were delivered, including 6 cava glasses ... too bad, again missed opportunities. We have tried to enjoy our "vacation". Second day reserved for the bowling alley, unfortunately due to the crowds only place from 11 p.m. to midnight. Stupid of us, but should have come earlier. But on arrival only 2 jobs occupied. Strange, which was even stranger; at 11.12 the manager of the job came to tell us to order the last drink. After all, he wanted to close the bar. No words, again the way. After 12 years, a yearly visit to heijderbosch or Kempennen or lake valley, where we know that others want to develop, this is the most terrible park, to "get away from it all". My mother said: we will fill in the form at the end. Unfortunately we never had this form! But, but because of the fact that everything would be renovated to us. Spoke a colleague, 2 houses, 2x 8 people, completely the same story, but the house of our neighbors (neighborhood 300, 27-12 / 30-12) again the same dirty chalets. But the same story as our chalet (their stay: January 10 - January 14) unfortunately no chalet form, they can always contact us. Center parcs het heijderbos will be happy to speak to you. What if us: our advice: or more, or another holiday park because please keep your money in your pocket with this!

The facility and activities are great and great. At the swimming pool you should be especially careful with smaller children in the white water channel. The houses in the Comfort category are very old and in need of renovation.

The park is getting old. This is especially true for the accommodations. The outdoor facilities are also poorly maintained. Our accommodation (comfort house) was from the inside in an absolutely unacceptable condition. The "cleaning team" had to rework. Then we cleaned again. Also uninviting from the outside. The facades have not been cleaned here for years. The condition of the accommodations is not understandable in the prices.
The good water park and the jungle dome are positive, hence the three stars. Families with children really get their money's worth here.

Unfortunately, Center Park was a big disappointment.
Everything was missing. There was no washing-up liquid, hand soap (despite Corona) or tea towels. You have to wash up on departure but apparently buy the detergent yourself in the overpriced supermarket. At least the "welcome present" included a sponge and two rags ... If you are used to well-equipped and significantly cheaper AirBnb's, you can only hold your head here.
In terms of optics and furnishings, the apartment was more like a youth hostel and was purely functional. How is it that the park has 5 (!!) stars on Google ??
The two of us had rented a bungalow for 6 but were only able to use the swimming pool (a main reason for staying) for 3 hours on the 3 days. Compassion from the staff was zero.
The people are nice but you can tell that the management is saving money in the wrong place. Small gifts like salt and pepper would certainly not cost more than 2 per visit, but would make the guests feel welcome. At least a second roll of toilet paper should be in there !?
The mattresses were extremely worn, the kitchen equipment old and unkind and the bathroom a tragedy.
The park is expensive and, despite Corona, seems to be fully booked. The operators can't be that bad, as one might suspect due to the reduced huts.
So if you are planning a vacation there, take everything from towels and bedding to kitchen rolls with you. You can assume that there is nothing.
Will probably be the last time that we visit a Center Parc.

Despite registration and explanation that we are 3 couples, we have had 1 loft bed. It can not be that with just under 70 years, or with 80% severely handicapped such a room. Sad though was.

A typical, aged Center Parc. Special features were the covered jungle dome for the kids and the super fast white water raft in the Aqua Mundo and the many fish, sharks and piranhas you can observe in their own aquariums while snorkeling.

We have been to many Center Parcs, but I am really disappointed with this!
All good activities were fully booked on 1 day. There was also on request not the possibility for additional appointments. Then we wanted to book climbing, but you can only from a height of 1.40 m so that we do not do much with our 2 children Apart from swimming, mini golf, petting zoo, all that I can do at home.
Luckily we had a VIP holiday home, but here too everything is perfect only at first glance. You do not look too well!
And this parc has 5 swallows (I would get 2 1/2 of it)
I would never come here, nothing is done for one !!

We were only in the pool, that was great, especially the wild water slide. The changing rooms were a bit old, but everything was clean. We would go back.

We are very disappointed. Today arrived the bungalow is dirty hair in the bathtub, cobwebs, etc. Then no sink on the toilet, on the couch are burn holes, etc. The whole bungalow smells musty have bought today first fragrance spray, after the holiday all things can wash. In addition, you have to pay for almost all activities for the children extra. This was the first and last time Center Park.

Great park. Nice pool, friendly staff. Nice dinner in one of the restaurants. Service was great and took the time to explain what I could eat in connection with my lactose intolerance compliments for that.

If you are looking for a brutal whitewater course ?! Then this is the best park! Gigantically beautiful area around it for walking or cycling. Top place for a beautiful holiday with the family!

Recreation factory with many fun attractions for kids. We had a good midweek and the stay in the bungalow (VIP) was fine in itself, although we expected something more in view of the price. The bathrooms were not completely fresh, the music system unusable due to loose antenna and broken remote control. One of the dining room chairs fell apart during the Christmas dinner, resulting in a bruise. So here and there it was in the details.

Well suited for a family vacation with kids. Own bungalow, even with a fireplace and bathtub. Everything clean so far. There are still plenty of paid activities, not all is included. The kids loved it. Has a little holiday camp flair

We were actually looking forward to our stay, we have planned a men's weekend with our children. Unfortunately we would be more than disappointed.

The House :

OK for living but not more. The kitchen has a gas stove and not even an oven.
The bathroom had a bathtub (we knew that beforehand. Otherwise the whole house was very old and should be renovated for the price you pay.

The area around the house is not very well maintained. It looks 100% better in pictures and videos.

There is really not much to do for children the playground is a joke very few play options. You were only allowed to go into the swimming pool twice and that at an outside temperature of 35 degrees. You didn't want to go into the lake because it was just green. The rivers that tiles through the park are all dirty.

But we liked the best that charcoal grills are sold and everyone grills but if you do this you get in trouble and you should turn the grill off immediately. We bought the grill and meat on site that cost us a lot of money and when we complained they promised us a 12.95 voucher for an electric grill, but the grill costs 35 so you should pay another 20 Pay more even though you've already bought a grill. Just ridiculous.

We left the day before because we had hoped for a lot more from centerpark. The park gets a 5 minus because it wasn't great, it would have been a 6 if the swimming pool wasn't so great.

To me it will never mean Center Parks again and I won't recommend it either.

Very dated holiday park. The reason of 2 stars is because we have made a super nice weekend of it ourselves, but everything is very old and overdue maintenance. Too expensive for so little quality.

Slightly outdated houses, but otherwise a great park with lots of activities to do.

A nice centerpark. The aqua Mundo is a bit small in relation, but the two slides are really great ... Especially the whitewater slide is great!

Climbing in the climbing park is also great fun, in the escape room there were several topics, we visited 2 and both were really funny!
The bowling alley was a bit dated and short, but the price was okay!

We found the park very boring despite the good weather. When it rains you can only go to the swimming pool. Everything costs extra and the prices are steep. The facility should be left in its natural state, but it looks rather wild, and a little care will certainly not stand in the way of nature conservation.
We had booked dinner, the buffet was really a joke, everything tasted the same and the chicken nuggets looked like squeezed rubbish inside. For this we paid the equivalent of 31 euros per person and evening, the drinks came extra, bottle of water 6 euros! It was definitely not worth it. You can only use one restaurant.
After one day we were through with everything, after that we didn't know what to do but sit around and walk, which I can do at home.

House was old and not clean, a sticky floor and strewn with dead flies.

"Premium" Houses heavily dated. Too few parking facilities, beds mediocre in terms of comfort, Audio / TV does not work, moisture smell in bedrooms. The wooded area, on the other hand, is positive.
We have been going with a group of friends for> 20 years and have never experienced this quality experience before. Never again Center Parcs.

By and large everything was okay. To complain about is that a telephone booking / reservation was not kept good 3 months ago and thus 9 people spontaneously had to adjust to a new situation (instead of a house in the 100 area in the 300 area - on the phone we were assured, only there it basically no 9 people in the 100 area), so the approach to the center for breakfast and co and further and unfortunately the prices are overpriced at the rental of mobility. We booked the premium house, which I was a little disappointed with the equipment, because there was only 1 roll of toilet paper per toilet, 1 bin bag, 1 laundry bag (as a large thin garbage bag for 9 people sheets and towels that do not fit accordingly), defective music system (after At one time the cause was found that cable from the boxes to the plant was the problem and I could "fix it"), a dishwasher that does not scour vermin (silverfish), a fireplace without firewood (it should be better noted that firewood generally to be purchased in the center and only the fireplace is provided), towels were only after 3 hours after arrival. Our stay was 4 days / 3 nights. Everything else was fine - many activities on offer, we were given 3 activity vouchers (for example climbing - per person 1 voucher, bowling - 1 train for 55 min 2 vouchers). Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet is perfectly fine. Environment was partially dirty.

In my opinion one of the nicest center park parks! House could certainly be better but it could not spoil our fun!

5-star hotel far from it! Anyone who likes a run down 70s atmosphere will certainly feel very comfortable here. Absolutely out of date and unfortunately not clean and well maintained. The jungle dome saves the Parc a star here, because this indoor fun is really lovingly designed and fantastic for parents to have a coffee undisturbed. The Aquamundo is nice, but the whitewater course should be enjoyed with caution and, in my view, unsuitable for children under 12! Marketdome & Co. nice and cozy, that's where the second star comes from. The family of 4 receives an evening buffet including drinks for around 90 . The breakfast buffet for four was about half. We prefer to go out for a delicious meal, so you save a lot of money and usually get better or equivalent quality. Conclusion: In the future, rent a modern holiday home outside and as a day visitor to the park. The houses urgently need to be renovated and that thoroughly! Images are uploaded.

It is unbelievable that the park has such good ratings even though nothing is right here.
The Premium children's house is a shack, stinks, dirty in every imaginable corner, not habitable in the heat.
The restaurants an absolute catastrophe, the food disgusting, service under all pig (here is the standard to wait for everything).
We didn't feel anything of the highly touted friendliness unless you book children's activities, you can't even take advantage of those (although) you have already paid because the shop is closed.
The Aquamondo, well, you shouldn't look at everything carefully.
A bottomless disrespect for the paying parents, never again Center Parcs, not this one and not a newer one.

Nice park. Lots of opportunities to deal with. The entertainment is great too. Unfortunately, the houses are not the newest and have small weak spots here and there.

Very neglected houses and also very dirty. Our cottage was very different from the photo I saw when booking. There is no free WiFi at the park. You have to pay 15 Euro per day or 40 Euro per week for that.
Also the food at the current buffet where you can eat unlimited is terrible !! Only cheap simple things like lettuce cucumber radish, bell pepper, whole potato, stew, hamburgers and a dirty salmon. You can ask for a satay that they then bake.
There are only a small number of renovated cottages, the rest are very outdated. The marked Dome is also very small and in the evening all tables are quickly occupied. Furthermore, they stop serving drinks at half past ten, because then everything will stop even at the weekend.
We thought it was the worst vacation ever!

Lovely day of swimming. Nice swimming pool with many facilities. Wave pool was a bit disappointing, because the waves were low (for example at CenterParcs Meerdal and Landal Lommerbergen much more exciting for our three children (ages 5-10). Wildwaterbaan deserves the black description and is very nice for (almost) teenagers. Toddler and paddling pool saw When ordering at the fries shop we only received a receipt and no vibrating plate (which you get at Landal and almost all playgrounds). Too bad you had to wait there. In 2020 it can be customer friendly! So 4 stars. Dome looks older and less maintained, but the park is therefore from the mid-eighties.

Once and never again!
When we arrived, we were directed to a parking lot and we got keys with the request not to enter the house before 15 o'clock. This mass processing is not really suitable.
Reference of the cottage: It smelled extreme, the mattresses hung down to the floor, the joints in the bathrooms were apparently not renewed for 10 years. In the kitchen no adequate equipment (no oven, no dishwasher, only once dishes for 4 persons ....). Everything is not for us.
The booked seats in the pizzeria were ok. However, the price-performance ratio leaves a lot to be desired. Unusually expensive and below average pizza.
Expensive is also the snack, where you should shell out for a family fries just 13 EUR.
Only the Aqua Mundo was the hit for our children, we spent hours in the bathroom.
Since everything was not as expected, we did without the last night and went home early.

The park is very dark in the evening, may be a little less. Parking lot is quickly filled with guests from the area on weekends!

A form of recreation that you must love. Pool we found way too busy but Jungle Dome was fun. Little children's paradise. Food and drink prices are too high in relation to the (too low) quality. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Nice park with a lot of extra available services compared to other parcs (jungle dome, children farm, ...) Nice subtropical pool with a pleasant atmosphere. Larger bungows than we're used from Center Parcs

The accomodations are a bit older and sometimes not maintained (older toilets, more than half were broken), personnel was not always friendly...

Aquamundo is really great. Varied, exciting on top of that clean. Attentive staff guard swimming activities. Slide super fast, wild water course class. However, only for children from 5 right to enjoy.
House was ok. Everything you need. Maybe an extension cord or more sockets would be good. Small drawback: shelf not properly repaired, thereby plate smashed. Terrace is not attached enough to the edge. For older people getting used to. Facility has everything necessary, but seems a little Spartan; functional. Nevertheless, quite comfortable.
Numerous activities, unfortunately children are often camouflaged as groschengrab. Many 1 Euro pieces necessary to optimally fit a child. Eg: 1 Euro = 6 min. Trampoline. All in all very good. For the little things 1 star deduction.

Lovely park to go to with small children. They do their best to take the corona measures into account, while still offering the guests as much as possible. For example, there was plenty of opportunity to swim, and shows for the children were done well without parents.

Small improvement tip: the Jeep safari is really a disappointment if you are used to Peer's. In Peer you can go around half the park, and in Heijderbos you are ready after 100m (neatly laid out).

Paradise for parents and children. Here you can finally escape the old days and enjoy life for a few days without a car. Our children had fun and experienced a lot.

There are many offers, some with costs. You should book the activities from Germany, as it is already very busy during the school holidays.

Great refurbished 6 person house. The per plaza with swimming pool and the like may well be adjusted to the current time. Is quite worn out. The pool should have some more attractions, especially slides

Good swimming pool. Remains fun with a good whitewater course

Nice Center Parcs which is unfortunately getting a bit old (but should be renovated from 2020). There were four of us here (2 adults and 2 children, 5 months and 3 years) had a VIP bungalow with sauna. The bungalow was okay and you could see that the VIP are better serviced. Otherwise the facility was not quite as beautiful anymore, especially the created waters were more pools than lake / pond. What is annoying is that it all costs extra money, but you know that beforehand. We liked the short distances, the service that everything can be booked e.g. Raclette, the swimming pool and the car-free zone, so the children can run around carefree. Conclusion: If Center Parcs again, then we pay attention to a newly built or newly renovated.

Dirty, nothing for children under 8 except a petting zoo and aquamundo

We had a great time there with our family and our family, time flew by. The buffet was surprisingly good. But as with every CP, the houses are outdated, the Jungledome and activity hall are closed on Mondays, while according to CP you can also use them on the day of departure. So all in all a double feeling ...

We love to visit this Centerparc. The Aquamundo offers, among other attractions, a great white water course. The park is beautifully designed, it looks well-kept. We have booked hotel apartment, so we were very satisfied. But we also like to come here as day guests. In the park there is a lot of forest and lakes, good entertainment and employment opportunities.

Too busy on weekends or holiday periods. A nice big swimming pool.
