Witnessed a woman abusing an 8 week old puppy coming out from the stray building.
WORST PLACE EVER! I recommend not going here there staff are rude. I tried to call them to pick up stray animals and they tell me it's not an emergency. They are the Worst. Not to mention I called them over a week ago for animal cruelty and they still haven't picked up the poor puppy. The puppy is getting abused and is outside 24/7. I thought this place was to help animals. THEY DONT CARE AT ALL... I hope they find other people with a bigger heart to care and love these animals because this place is awful.......!!!!!!!!!!
There are amazing people who work here trying to save these dogs & cats from being euthanize....
People with pets need to have them fixed...
Can"t seem to get anyone to answer the telephone or return my calls.
They helped me when I needed help,my dog was on the verge of death and they saved his life.
Gave it 3 stars, went in to pick up my clients cats. The front staff was the least to say engaging or friendly. I overhead them speaking about their weekend plans, had me waiting over 35 mins to pick up the cats. Once the cats were home, they were sick for well over a week. Not sure if its common. But its certainly an inconvenience for an elderly person to be cleaning up after two sick cats vomit.
If you have a dog, and you haven't gotten a license you should, It cost only $50.00 . The State is making it a yearly requirement with a show rabies vaccine for your animal.
The staff in the adoption center at the reception area was rude just standing around talking. Somebody literally rolled their eyes when I asked them a question because I interrupted. I asked about a specific dog and they said they didn't have it anymore, even though I just saw the dog on their page a few minutes ago. Other than that the clinic services are great due to the low cost. Pet store has some good finds.
It s wonderful to adopt here! I currently volunteer at this ccspca and have learned about the low cost vaccination clinics they have. They also have applications for your family to foster animals if your not looking to adopt!
Bought a puppy from them for 180 and she had parvo when I had got her from them she had all of her shots like the one for parvo and even fixed her so I asked why are the puppies and older dogs so expensive. She told me that they are pricy because of all the shots also because of the cost of the nudering but what I'm wondering is why spend all that money on fixing the dog and giving it shots instead of testing it for one of the most deadly and contagious diseases for dogs? So when I called them back about selling me a sick dog all they seemed to care about was getting me my cash back which is ok but when I asked so what will u do with the dog after I give it back they just said they would euthanize which seems like a bad deal for the dog so now I'm left cashing out money I don't have for a expensive dying dog that was never previously tested for parvo and I know this because the vet said on her medical records she was never tested so I will never go back to that doggy prison.
I went to the vaccination clinic and oh my goodness was it fast. I did have an appointment which they're only doing right now
You have to pay $30 to give any animal to them even if it's not yours and you just found it
I had a wonderful experience with SPCA. The staff is very nice and professional and they really care about all of their animals. If you re interested in being a pet owner I recommend coming here and rescuing one of these loving puppies.
Really safe and clean places for animals to feel safe in the meantime of a home! I would recommend anyone to save a dog here!
Genuine and friendly people here. If you're looking for a new addition to your family. I adamantly and highly recommend going here. Great staff and great animals, I look forward to spending time here again.
They never answer my calls for an abandoned kitten I found on the street
This is the place to go to get your pet vaccinated. Inexpensive and fast.
Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday they give low cost rabies and other shots for animals
Public shelter doing the best work. Great staff and volunteers!
Love this place this one person who worked there was there for my family when we had to put down my dog I show me love and my support
When I visit here I want to take an animal to rescue it from this shelter specifically. The people working here never seem to know about the animals there. It took over an hour for them to find the paperwork on a cat we were trying to adopt. I'm fairly sure a lot of the help is volunteers... but a lot of them don't want to be there or just refuse to help. Have you ever checked in on where they keep the guinea pigs and turtles? It's a litter box. With water. That's where the turtle is.
My boyfriend and I adopted a small dog from there and we didn't have any problems with the staff or adopting our babygirl from there . We love her and we didn't have any additional " MEDICAL EXPENSE " from a sick dog ...
People are nice and they do the best they can with their budget. But an animal had pooped in a corner, I pointed it out and the volunteer said "oh yeah, that happened a while ago. I'll clean it eventually"
Need to empty mailbox and get newly qualified individual's to answer the phone
Or check and discard messages.
Trying To See If They Have A Puppy Named Luna, Terrier Mix Around 3 Months Old.
Love this place I unfortunately had to bring 4 of my grandma's kitty cats here oldest one was 23 and her name was perscilla she was a beautiful calico and then 1 boy junior 7 years old, baby she was all grey 7 years old and then mama her name was princess at first then we just started calling her mama they said they would do everything that they could to get all 4 adopted out, it was the worst day ever missing them very much, hope that they found a great home they had so many more years ahead of them but perscilla she was an old lady :( didn't want to leave her after her losing her mama this was February 2010.
Have to admit they are shaping up their business & getting their act together.
They are no kill shelter and if you are over run with cats, great place to take Straus to get a forever home
I adopted a dog from the shelter two years ago and I am currently a volunteer. The center has an open door policy, taking in every animal they come across. The CCSPCA has helped over thousands of animals each year and continue to take care of animals every day.
I love my dog I really do and the staff seemed to care about the dogs but my dog is now very sick from kennel cough it will cost 200$ to get meds for her this is due to negligence in cleaning the kennel's also the doctor I took her to informed me this is the case with most dogs coming out of kennels In addition my dog has suffered through pain due to a spaying that they did to her and the fact that they gave me no pain meds for her afterwards.
This is an amazing organization that really does care about the community. Linda has been nothing but helpful and she is just what SPCA represents a nice welcoming feel as soon as you walk in.
It's always sad to drop an animal there but had to it was the neighbors cat she moved and left behind. The employee's were very nice and understanding
They currently have strict rules due to covid and all meets are made by appointments.
Please donate or volunteer if possible always a need here.
Love the pet we got.
Staff was reasonably helpful and nice but our 2 month old puppy has Parvo and worms. It's only been 3 days since we adopted her and my poor wife and been crying and at the vet for the last two.
Unorganized! Had an appointment & Had to wait. Wanted ID & I had a cab waiting. Girl was very rude.
Very disorganized. Website is sadly out of date- showed 103 cats available for adoption but only 12 on property and half not available. Employees didn't know where all the others were and had no way to find out since computer data base was out of date as well.
What getts me so bad is they say there is no kill shelter but the ones that are D>E day shelters why do they not run a special for these animals for seniors that need companion dogs or cats that cant afford the fees I'm disabled and a senior and want a companion so bad but there is no way i can afford the prices i can afford to feed them and give them tons of love since i sit home 24/7 wish there was a way to help the disabled get companions cause im very lonely after my husband passing and also loosing our dog he passed 3 days after my husband we adopted him at the spca 9 yrs before that he was a great dog and spoiled rotten
Just glad a cat my deciple sister found had a place to go I'm a rain storm.
Went to adopt a dog, left her there to be spayed a couple days later she was very sick. 1000 dollars later we found out she had phamonia most likely from kennel cough
NEVER ADOPTING FROM HERE AGAIN! Our dog was sick we parvo and worms when we adopted her petsmart. They told us she had worms and we could bring her home when she was dewormed. They called us the next day that she was ready to come home!! We were told she was vaccinated for parvo and not even a week home with just the puppy was so sick. The spca did acknowledge that the puppy was sick and offered a refund. We agreed, they only refunded half the money! We didn't ask for them to help with the vet bills because she was under our care, but for them to just give us half a refund was a joke. Not only did we only get $90 out of the $180 we paid for her but they gave us the run arounds for 3 weeks about the money.!
Great place see most of the pets are in great shape.
Why can't I get on the website anymore? Keeps asking for a password. Im looking for my cat a check it several times a day for updates
I guess i just heard late they were having problems. Went personally to look for my cat nice staff answered questions and let me put my missing poster up.
I took my son there and they helped him out with no problems at all
BUYERS BEWARE!!!! Very disheartened about our experience!! You would think this is a puppymill or factory. They treat these animals like a hotel turning rooms!!! Their only concern is making money!!! We visited this place and put a dog on hold. We walked away buying 2 dogs from them that day. A black G.S. that had kennel cough that we had to pay for his meds even tho he had kennel cough untreated from their facility. The 2nd dog was an Alaskan Husky. They didn't tell us the Husky breed we put on hold was dangerous around small animals. We told them we had a small dog and cats and they said if we kennel for introduction they should be fine. For the first four days they were all fine together and then late at night on the 4th day, he walked up to our small dog in a playful nonthreatening way and picked her up and shook her twice. We didn't know it was coming. They ate and spent time alone outside together w/o any problems, slept in livingroom together w/no problem for 4 days. We took him back and they said b/c we didn't do a "meet and greet" at their facility they would not refund us. So now they have all the money we paid for, for not only fixing him, but meds and immunizations, heartworm blood test, grooming (the works) they also have HIM!!! Buyer beware!! I've been chasing this for over a month now!!! They said well that's what "prey drive" means. I said no one told me if I have small animals I shouldn't adopt him...they said well if we told you that he wouldn't be adopted...they said usually we give u a pamphlet on the breed. I said no one did that either. AND the girl that helped me owned the same breed and NEVER TOLD ME ANYTHING!! The supervisor is good at NOT calling you back as well. He has been NO HELP!! VERY POOR communication, customer service and general care about others. We truly loved that dog and never would've returned him if this hadn't happened. There was no reason for them to keep our money if they have the ability to readopt him out. Especially after we paid for all the care for heartworm test, 1 month of heartworm meds, all immunizations needed, and grooming and being fixed. We used to volunteer there so we thought this was a good plc to go to save not just the one adopted but another off the street. WE DEFINITELY WERE WRONG. To make matters worse, it was my 15 yr old daughter's money that they took and kept. This was her dog so she paid for them. We alsp paid for grooming for the G.S. that was sick, $45!!! Which the supervisor Anthony told me to call him to schedule after our G.S. was better. He won't return my calls at all!!!
Definitely go and adopt! The staff is very helpful and friendly.
They were very comforting an otherwise horrible situation.
I adopt a boxer on April 2 2015 and she passed away on April 6 2015 from distemper''I'm so heart broken..I don't know who's failed this dog..but all I'm left with is a vet bill...they did refund my adoption fee.''Its been such an awful thing to have to have to go tbrough''
The worst.
Found 2 really nice dogs in the street and they had their number on it. I called and pressed 4 for emergency and was on hold for 20 mins. No one answered and I had to leave. I really felt bad for the dogs but i had to be somewhere. 20 mins on hold? are you serious? for emergency? DMV is even better.
I've called twice this morning and have been on hold for over 40 min both times. Why is it so hard to get through? The recording said I was the 19th caller in line to be talked to. Still no one answering.
Just shocked hung up on by a real person says I can't report animal abuse on the weekend....what???? She just HUNG UP no have a good day thank you....wow
I went to the low cost vaccine event & the staff were very nice & the wait was long but once they took my pet in to get treated it took less than 5 min
My 6 yr old pitbull needed his shots and thankfully I found the friendliest staff here..
Helped me to find my lost cat, they were very helpful.
Wow great work! Loved everyone and their service especially a worker named Veronica! Definitely gave a warm feeling to the environment. Keep it up!
Their phone line is absolutely USELESS. IF YOU HAVE AN ANIMAL EMERGENCY DON'T BOTHER.
They were really helpful. They help me get my Susy back home.
I went to go look for a dog and they had so many beautiful breeds. I even found the dog I ve been looking for there.
Much better than Kings County SPCA. Staff are professional and courteous.
I feel that they do the best that they can here, but a lot of the times, there are so many sick cats in the cat room. I've gone in and most of them will have boogers stuck to the glass becuase they're sneezing so much.
You should definitely adopt from here. They have a lot of amazing animals, who are looking for a forever home. The SPCA brings in animals every week. You will definitely find the one you re looking for. Their services are great as well. They give you everything you need to bring your new family member home.
Adopted my kitten here hes adorable. They give you all the paper work and very informative of what to look for in a sick cat
They caught my dogtook off her harness with my phone number tag. Days later when I found my dog there they charged me $325. Ranson to free my dog they had all along. A total rip-off place.
The friendly well knowledged staff are easy to work with.
