Rainy Christmas visit, but had tons of fun and NO lines, love this place!!
Rainy Christmas visit, but had tons of fun and NO lines, love this place!!
Food pricing is too high and quality is circa 90's. Very few, if any healthy choices or even just non-processed food. Fun park, please upgrade the food quality or allow small coolers like Disney.
As always a great experience. The weather was perfect and was able to go to mostly all of the rides we wanted to go.
Fun amusement park. A little Pricey. Definitely worth it to buy the gold pass if you come more than a few times. Food options in the park are a little pricey too.
I really like this place especially during halloween. although this year it was less scary and i m kind of looking forward next year to a more scary experience.
Winter fest is adorable and lots of cute costumes and lights. Downside is that most major roller coasters are closed so it's mainly kids rides and not very many open at that.
Love this place had up last recommended to anyone better kids are teenagers but my son is 10 and he still had a blast
Winterfest...a wonderful experience for young and old. The lights and decorations are breathtaking and all the shows and activities throughout the park are fabulous. I went twice. Only 2 more nights...y'all need to go. You will not be disappointed!!!
Nice and fun place to go. But the lines are just as ridiculous as the prices. Weekends are a horrible time to go!! 2 hour wait for a 1 minute ride. And 8 dollars for a basket of fries (probably about 20 fries total) and a small splotch of cheese. Pretty sad.
Best amusement park in the Carolinas! Our family always loves going here with friends. It can get a little expensive so it's best to buy a season pass early in the year and save money. Or if you know someone that has a season pass you can get bring a friend tickets for cheaper. Parking is free if you have a season pass and usually $20 if you don't. Also free admission to the waterpark is included with regular park admission. The food is expensive so if you're going to be there all day it's best to buy a meal plan for $30 and you can eat all day and only pay once. And in order to avoid spending a whole lot of money on drinks it's best to buy a refillable souvenir cup that way you can get free drinks all day once you pay the first time. also the food is expensive so if you're going to be there all day its best to buy a meal plan for $30 and you can eat all day in only pay once. And in order to voice meaning of whole lot of money on drinks its best to buy a referral bowl souvenir cup that way you can get free drinks all day went to pay the first time. There's a few other gives and takes, but I know this is a long paragraph and hopefully someone finds it helpful.
Lots of roller coasters. We got lucky on the weather and the crowds. Lines moved quickly
Great place to have fun and get some adrenaline. Gold season pass worth it, you really can "come and go like you own the place!"
Scarowinds, what a waste.... Took over an hour to get through the parking ($20 bucks a car) $50 bucks to get in and ride 1 rollercoaster and 1 haunted house. Perhaps if they waited in their own lines and were able to experience where their patrons do, maybe they'd care more for them than the almighty $$$$
An American tradition. Theres enough to do here to make everyone happy
I liked it but my seatbelts came undone on the copperhead strike
I liked almost everything about this place except their market hall thing.
This is about an average park, but Fury 325 and Intimidator give it that fourth star. If you are in the neighborhood, stop by. Cedar Fair parks are always clean and friendly.
Lines for scarowinds have become so long it s almost worth not going. I have gone avidly since the FIRST YEAR. Either cap off the attendance numbers or add more haunted houses. We were there for three and a half hours and managed three rides and one haunted house. They were also the same as last year
2nd summer my sons went after Camp. The park is great, clean and friendly. The updated waterpark was a huge hit!
This park is amazing!!! We bought seasons passes and go s often as we can. We also bought the food pass and are a little disappointed you get very little to choose from at each place. But over all very great place to let loss and be a kid again.
Great rides but the best rides you have to pay for a locker to put your stuff in so it's like you paying to on the ride and the food is expensive and it doesn't taste as good as it cost and some rides are not open sometimes and it's not because its rundown or had a complications
Much improved! Great improvements have made this park a must do for us! Water park has been expanded and improved, spent the day there today at the water parks opening day, and had a great time! Food options really are much better than at most other parks (not including Disney) We did lunch and dinner there today!
You better bring you swim suits! This park is so huge! It has two water park and other rides. The directions was confusing but wth I was there all day#Fun, food wasn't like Savannah at all. 3 stars~ Morgan from Savannah
Took my family for the first time to the park, everyone ready and excited! lines to enter was at least 50 deep. A friend of mine reccomened the fast pass to us, but that was outrageous, an extra $90 per person for fast pass. Arrived at roughly 10:30 am and by 5:30 pm my family had been on 2 rides due to the extreme long lines. The following day we went to the water park, almost half the water rides were not running, the lazy river had geese in it and most the higher tube slides were down along with the purple funnel type slide. We stayed over 7 hours at the park, sitting on concrete with towels because the chairs had people saving them some were holding 10-12 chairs with 1 shoe on each one saying it was for friends that were on the way. When I reported all this to staff i was told they could do nothing. Larger older teenage kids 17-20 year olds were going in the toddler section to pee in the water because lines were long and i guess they figured i didnt notice, when i let them know I seen them and was going to turn video in to police i was spit on by one and cused at by the rest. My kids were not able to have any fun at all. The staff looks like they are all teenagers right out of rehab/detox. I have never seen such foul things in my life. For $100 per person plus extra 90 for fast pass take your family to Kings Dominion where its all about family!! CAROWINDS IS BEYOND GROSS.
It was a blast. Workers all made sure everyone was tall enough to be on rides. Food is pricey, but you expect that. A lot of rides, and things to do. Plenty of food choices and desserts/treats. There's something for everyone. Beats going to your local fair, and is safer.
The rides are Awesome! Prices can be kinda steep, but as long as you line up some deals you'll be better off.
Great amusement park that is constantly evolving with great rides, amenities, food options, and concerts. The water park is fun, and this is a great place for the roller coaster enthusiast. There are tons of options for everyone, but I recommend going during a weekday to have slightly smaller crowds.
Ok for thrill seekers. One rollercoaster is like the other. Different turns.
Lots of fun for a day out, worth going to winterfest and scarowinds as well
It's Carowinds. You can go from riding the great rides to cooling off at the wave pool. Or if you have little ones they have 2 other pools that are kid friendly.
It is the best place ever I went there and it so fun my favorite ride is after burn! So lit! There shouldn t be 3 stars on yelp tho! There should be 5 stars!
Beautiful decorations and theme. Couldn't ride because of limited choices
brakes driving course, that Carowinds supports....nonprofit 90 dollar course for 4 hour AWESOME experience for kids and parents. register on brakes course...waiting list!!!!
We have season passes and we always pleased. We went for the first time this year and the new Camp Snoopy was disappointing..... otherwise we love the rides and atmosphere.
The best amusement park I've ever been to! The staff could bare to be a little nicer but overall it was great!
I have loved going to Carowinds since the moment I first set foot, as a sixth grader on a school field trip!
I've seen it change and grow over the past 20 years and now enjoy it along with my kids!! The workers strive to maintain the park clean while providing entertainment and fun.
I'm always amazed they come up with new rides and themes! I especially love WinterFest and riding the Intimidator!
Carowinds is such a wonderful place to visit!!!!!
First time here & can't wait to go back. Did season passes.
Love this place. They offer so much to do including live music some nights. Family fun at it's best and safest.
Very fun. Tickets are a little on the higher side. Lines are a little long. But all in all a very good place
Really fun place to bring the family, a little pricey on the food though
One of the best experiences I ever had. Surround by good people and thrilling rides. Definitely plan on coming again. I recommend people get there as soon as the parks open due to the large amounts of people.
Great place to take your children and have fun as adult as well.
Apparently they don t allow you to take your shirt off on rides, which is kinda lame, security hawked me down after about 20 minutes cause of the picture, pretty good day other than that, loved the rides, security was easily 10/10, loved them. Wish they would have given me the photo of me without the shirt but it s whatever. Also, don t flip off the camera or you ll get hawked down as well, only peace love and soul is allowed.
Great Place for me and my 4 year old, food is very pricey out here, but overall we always have a Good time. I think they should give u a free complimentary cup if u purchase the season pass. Water is great for all ages
Has great rollercoasters and rides. The waterpark is great in the summer when its hot out. They have two wavepools and a whole lot of slides.
Went to Scarowinds for the first time though I have been to carowinds countless times. It was so much fun and heightened the experience to ride the roller coasters in the dark. I was especially impressed because it started to rain but they kept the rides running. I felt safe on each ride. The only critique is that there is limited food options in the evening.
I greatly enjoyed my time at Winterfest. While many of the coasters were closed, there was still plenty to do. The park was beautifully decorated and the parade at 9 PM was very fun. The crowds weren't too crazy so it was fast to get on the rides.
Even though I'm NOT a rollercoaster person I still found my visit enjoyable. But if you plan on visiting here l would make sure you have 100$ of spending money per person, you will find your day soo much more enjoyable if you do.
the place was way too good but as expected it cost too much
Would be a whole lot better if both entrances were available instead of just North.
Winterfest was fun. My tickets were free, so I can't comment on the value. Some of the major roller coasters are open, and there were no lines!!
Nice amusement park wiith kids and thrill rides. Not as crowded as other theme parks.
Absolutely love Carowinds. I use to go as a child and started taking my sons when they were around 2 years old. My oldest son is now 26,and buys season passes for himself, youngest brother, and for his mommy every year (adding the food plan and drinks). We love our adventures at Carowinds!!!!
Hey great attractions for the kids but they need to find a better way and more less expensive way for us to enjoy the whole experience of the amusement park
Nice fun friendly family environment. Prices are very reasonable!
Water rides here are great! Roller coasters are below average compared to coasters at other theme parks. Overall still a great way to spend the day!
Good place to bring the family, best food deal at an amusement park. Big belly riders beware, it'll be a holding bags and walking day. Gotta get it together so I can ride again....lol
Lots of fun! The park is mainly roller coasters, so if you don't like that I would recommend not coming to Carowinds.
Love this place, went to get pumpkins but they ran out so that was a bummer.
Staff so nice, beyond any I ever saw in Orlando. The roller coasters are Incredible!!! Went on 5 with zero wait!!! My daughter loved it ! Bought season passes it's so Great
Scarowinds was awesome. Family had a great time. Cost a small fortune plus food and parking. Bring a big debit card.
The park was clean, the rides are fun, the lines aren't to long and some of the roller coaster workers made sure I was okay to go on the ride because I was a little nervous great experience!
Really great amusment park, Copperhead Strike is a must ride when you're here!
Hot and crowded but awesome rides, I had a good time, the ride times in the app are all wrong, so don't even try to use that...
Ride shut down and got people stuck. Also $12 pizza slice but probably expected at a park like this.
This was my 1st time at Carowinds and it was great! I would suggest light water showers throughout the huge park lol
Overall a good day spent here. As usual all food and drinks cost entirely too much. Some attractions like the water park and a few of the rides weren't open yet(guess it was too early in the season, who knows). But still had fun on the coasters especially the intimidator and fury.
If you love fun and things for the family to do. Here's your place besides me living right near it and I can be there in two minutes. My kids are always excited to go. They have a new rollercoaster ride opening this year.... we can't wait to ride it!!!
We just left Carowinds and it was awesome.....like always, but they have really outdid themselves with Winterfest this year. It's like being at the North Pole The new parade is so awesome !! We can't wait to go back next year. Awesome job Carowinds !!
An amazing theme park with a great range of thrill rides. Went with my boyfriend and it's a great day out for a couple. Big downside is that food/ drink options aren't very good and are very pricey. Would recommend getting a fast plus ticket.
This is pretty much the best place that ive ever been to. I love it do much.
My husband and I are season pass holders with the all season food plan and season mugs. We live about 10 minutes away so it is worth the money to be able to stop by for a couple rides and dinner when we don't feel like cooking. The rides are great and the food is good. The entertainment is amazing! Spark City Swing Machine is an amazingly tight group of talented musicians and Seasons of Cirque has an amazing cast of circus artists from around the world!
This review is really based upon the fact that the parking can be really out of control at times I know that the actual park tries to make the cost reasonable and affordable for the mass majority however I highly recommend that they having the IP parking section just because some people are willing to pay extra for the convenience of parking up close rather than not finally departed space or parking way in the bag beyond the Distance this is that they are willing to walk
The staff is NOT HELPFUL AT ALL..NEED MORE ARROWS TO SHOW YOU WHERE YOU ARE GOING..NEED A TRANSIT SYSTEM ..and a map that's clear enough to read...
It was raining but still managed to see the Christmas lights. The Christmas show was really good. Family had a ball. Will return so children can ride some rides. Adequate parking. Wear comfortable shoes a lot of walking.
Had so much fun at Carowinds today with my 3 year old granddaughter!
Always a fun place to go!!! Invest in the season pass!!! So worth it!!!
We have season passes and have for a while. We really going to the park on slow days and letting the kids have a blast. We are not the biggest fans of the Winterfest but love Scarewinds and the New years eve event. If you live close to the park it is hard not to love the range of things they offer and the somewhat affordable price.
Every year since moving to South Carolina we have bought a family season pass. And every year the park just gets better. The special seasonal events, like Scarowinds and Winterfest are so amazing and the water park would be worth the pass cost alone. Make sure you get the refillable cup, you'll need it!
Always an enjoyable experience with the family. There's something for everyone!
The kids had a lovely time. Plenty of rides for young ones - our 3 year old had a blast.
Although extremely crowded, they did everything they could to make our experience a good one.
Winterfest was great! Very kind, helpful employees also. Was disappointed we didn't get in to see the shows, as they were too packed. Will definitely be back next year!
