Love me some Carowinds. Been going there for over 40 years.
Great local amusement park. I have been to "Scarowinds" once and it was an absolute blast. If you plan to go to "Scarowinds" make sure you take someone that scares easily. Why, because you will laugh the entire time. You can automatically guarantee that since it is an amusement park, the lines for rides are going to be long and it's going to take some time before you make it to your seat. That's not the staffs fault, so be patient and enjoy chatting with your friends or make new acquaintances while you wait in line.
I liked the place, there were great rides and cool games to play. The reason why it's not a 5 star is because the rides didnt last as long as I expected. Other than that I really liked the place and whoever hasn't been here should go because Carowinds is a great place.
Amazing, fun, and clean park. Most staff and rides professional and upbeat but food services seems pissy and lazy. Saw a few playing with work area rather than keeping it clean or organized. Love the park but not the food.
Horrible Day at Carrowinds...Half of the rides were down..waited in line at two different rides for an hour each then closed before we could ride. It was education Day there. It was not like you didn't know we were coming. Very bad business..won't be back.
I had originally rated this park 4 stars so we returned a 2nd time for Scarowinds. We were really disappointed in the "scary" aspect of just walking around. Just wasn't scary enough. No one was hiding, they were all out in plain sight, so you could see what was all around you. I can't speak on the haunted mazes and other enclosed attractions because we had small children with us. The next day we returned for the daytime events. Copperhead Strike was awesome! However, there were very few rides open for the kids and unless you ride the big coasters, there was nothing to do. Kinda boring after a 5 hr drive. We are done with this park and won't be back.
I had a great time. Handicapped parking was awesome
This was my first time here, and I had a great time. Although it seems a lot of the rides would break down while standing in line which was annoying but I liked the variety of roller coasters there. Food was definitely way overpriced and not that good but I wasn t there for the food
Carowinds is an excellent amusement park. It has a very open and wide atmosphere, and has a decent amount of shade. The coaster lineup is excellent, and the food is great. The operations are very good, and obviously, Fury 325 is worth the trip alone. I will most certainly be visiting in 2019 for copperhead strike, and for our favorite FURY!
If you like roller coasters my input is dont go to the water park because to many people are so when a lot of people are there at the water park then little people are at the roller coasters.I did that and waited in line for the fury for 5-8 minutes. Enjoy!!!
The prices are just way to high and then you go in and spend more money and I had a discount. It s just ridiculous.
One of the premier theme parks. A great mix of thrill rides, family rides and shows. Plus they have a great Waterpark for the summer days. The special events for Halloween and Christmas are also great. Highly recommend spending a couple of days here, one in the Waterpark and one in the main theme park.
A world-class amusement park with great shows and improving food each year. Tends to be very busy at water park in summer, other festivals are not jam-packed but well attended.
Great place to go with older kids must be 54 inches to ride the rides if not they can go to kiddie land. Also go to Scarowinds.
Always so much fun...water rides not until May 18th though...would like to have like 2 water rides going around now just to cool down...otherwise AWESOME...
Always loved Carowinds. I do think some of the security guards can be nicer. If you don't have a season gold pass they can make you feel like a second class citizen on the Titanic sometimes.
Wonderful park however lines can sometimes be really long and fast lane passes are very expensive . There are many great rides and rollercoaster for adults and teens as well as many wonderful rides that are suitable for younger children so definitely a great place to take the family . The only other problem I have with this park is that food is very expensive . I purchased a slice of pizza and a soft drink which was 20 dollars . If the price is not an issue for you I would completely recommend visiting the park.
Its 91 degrees and me and ny famiky got there at 5:45 your water park closed at 6 and there was no way of us knowing because the website was down and no one told us
Awesome rides and attraction for the whole family. As far as food it's over priced and doesn't match with the quality hy no means. I personally don't go there for the food so it doesn't bother me but, I'm just giving my feedback.
Awesome! Lots of fun. I would like to see them add some cooling stations and misting areas. The lines can seem even longer when you're so hot.
My 9 year old loves it! I have to rent a scooter and use an umbrella for shade due to medical restrictions but it's safe, wheelchair friendly and very spacious. Nice selection of new kiddie rides this year
A great amusement park with awesome rides. Fury 325 and Afterburn - get on them.
A colleague and myself took 2 visually impaired students to Carowinds on a field trip today. It was not crowded, so we were able to navigate around the park with ease. From Customer Service to Security to the operators of the rides, everyone was accommodating, patient, and helpful. Carowinds has clear procedures in place for folks with disabilities. One student was even able to read about The Fury in Braille, because they had a summary of each ride in a book. Other riders even helped the students get off the Scrambler, at one point, as I was making my way to help them. They had a great time, and were very positive about their day at Carowinds. We were able to get the field trip rate; my only complaint is that I really think you need a non-rider rate. I can't ride the rides for health readins, and it was a shame to pay for nothing.
Come here regularly with our Gold Passes. Came today looking forward to riding some stuff, but turns out that isn't what you do at Carowinds. Most of the rides are closed so we went straight to Copperhead Strike. We waited 2.5 hours and through all this, it was tested over and over. Finally, it got stuck but the employees didn't feel the need to alert us. After that, we paid for an expensive meal and we are enjoying the extremely few rides that are open but have an extensive wait.
*Edit* On a good day, it isn't like this, however, it is semi-often unfortunately.
Looks like a fun place to be to have fun and experience people it just all over enjoy yourself for the day clean Park environment is nice
They sell discounted tickets for a certain day, then half staff the park on the same day causing closures to rides. Therefore, when going on a discounted days you do not get to experience the entire park, and it is extra busy because of the discount. So you basically end up waiting twice as long to ride half of what is available. Should have been disclosed before purchasing, I would have paid full price and went on a normal day. Very unethical marketing tactic, more than likely I will not return strictly off principal.
Loved visiting here. Wish there were more mist sprays in waiting line areas on hot days. Food was really expensive for lack of vegan/allergy options. We had to leave park to find lunch. Rides and ect were great. They handled the parking lot fire crisis really well, also.
One of the best anniversaries I've ever had. Lots of fun. Felt like little kids again. My boyfriend getting scared of the tall coasters was funny.
Roller coasters and water slides!!! Yahooooo. Love Carowinds
Chaperoned a class trip for the Festival of Music. Great rides and friendly service. Food is outrageously overpriced and lines were long. But seeing the Fury fly under the walkway at the park entrance is definitely unique!
Best place ever! Something for everyone. Love it!! Best water park by far even better then the Disney water parks. Rides and fun for all ages. Even great for 2 year olds. Need two days to see and do it all.
Had a great time with students from all over the area. I rode all of the hottest rides before the storms rolled in. Back wonderful childhood memories!
1st time for my daughter and I...we're having a great day so far
Love the park. Wait times are long but of they weren't the rides wouldn't be that great. However the reason for 2 stars is because they nickel and dime you to absolute death. Like why do I have to pay for a locker to hold my stuff on one ride but other rides have places to put them beforehand.
Nice park. Lines could be reduced with some strategy.
Awesome park. Huuuuuuge. The new copperhead strike ride is freaking aweeesome!!!! Favorite ride in the park, loved it. Free access to water park as well. Overall has tons of rides. The nighthawk was extremely thrilling, awesome ride. Fury and intimidator were so fun 2. Great park.
wonderful Amusement park . Been going here since I was a kid I'm 52 now
it's supper fun and it have great and good food I love the winter fest also
Winterfest was fun! Nice lights and kids had a lot of fun on NYE! Fireworks at midnight were awesome and about 20 min long. Hot chocolate was great!
Great coasters!!! Kids and adults alike had a blast! We went before peak season started (early May). Not a crowd and free parking.
So crowded and the lines are so long! I wish there were more seating accommodations for the water park. People with season passes should have more privileges. The park has made some great improvements! So nice and clean!
Pretty much amazing all around, but the bathrooms need some work and you pay 7$ for two water bottles.
It's all good for my teenage daughter but picking her up is a nightmare. There is no order in the parking lot even tho security is out there with their flashlights giving short answers and screaming at cars trying to pick up their kids. I'm sure there's a better way. I know there's a better way! Some of the money they suck from us can surely go to organization for pick up.
This was the most fun place to go when I was younger and honestly I still love coming here with my niece. The halloween time is especially great with all the themed outfits and haunted houses.
It seems that Carowinds keeps out doing themselves. I've been getting season passes for the past 5 years and each year the amount of work that they put into updating the park is amazing. When I first started going to Carowinds a few years ago there was a lack Theme Park quality. But they seem to make it a little more every year. Last year was Camp Snoopy and this year the copperhead strike. Meal plan is pretty awesome too.
Can't say enough about Carowinds. My daughters had SO much fun! So did I (and I'm 50)! Clean, safe, great rides, INCREDIBLE staff...just wonderful. I lost my wallet and it was found and returned by security! Saved my whole trip to NC. So nice we went back within about a month. We'll be back in the spring!
We love going to Carowinds.. We got season passes this year and we take our kids every week. We all enjoy it especially the water park! It's a great family or group trip.
Carowinds is great family thing to do over your weekend but heres the catch...... IT RUNS A LITTLE EXPENSIVE. About $22-30 depending on the day. I come to carowinds during the summer a few times here are some tips and/or tricks
1. Don't worry about lines
2. Skip the water rapids ride
3. Don't bring more than
4. Skip the Water park
5. Start at the back of park and work your way up (it will take you around many delicous laces for lunch)
6.kids will enjoy harmoney hall's lunch with snoopy
Any questions just jead over to carowinds website

really fun has really fun but scary roller coasters trust me its worth the price
Get a seasons pass if you think you'll visit frequently or you live nearby! Many great roller coasters for all ages! The fury 325 is great for thrill seekers or 54 inch+ tall kiddos who are being introduced to bigger roller coasters (it does not go upside down!). The afterburn and copperhead strike have lots of twists and upside down moments so if you're brave and have a strong stomach then those will be your favorites! The intimidator as also a great non-upside-down roller coaster. Stay clear of the carolina cyclone, the nighthawk, and the vortex, as they are rough and uncomfortable.
It was awesome!! Enough Rollercoasters to ride and get your fun poppin but the best one to me was The Fury!! If you want the true drop and feel like you're going straight down and out your seat....FURY IS THE ONE LOL!!!
Pros: wondeful local amusement park. Food, Drinks, plenty of places to sit and rest. Convenient bathroom locations. Single admission have access to both amusement park and water park. Had kiddie rides, adult rides, and thrill seekers.
Cons: staff are very young and lack policies (they just make their own rules), food and drinks are pricey (but you pay amusement park pricing, of course its going to be expensive.
Several fun coasters. Traffic was not handled well in the park. Many of the employees were rude and did not have much information to provide about the park. Went in one haunted house and there were only 3 characters in the house scaring people. With King Island and Cedar Point being my home parks I a very disappointed in my visit.
I love Carowinds! Been multiple times and I never tire of them. Love the seasonal decorations as well. Great music and activities and the rides are great! Can't wait for the next time I go!
Just wow!! The whole family had lot of fun! Kids were excited about the park sitting on two states. The Intimidator and Fury rides crazy fun!
Carowinds is always amazing and a great family place to go. Tons of rides, food, and other activities fun for most ages. 100% better than six flags and I definitely recommend going if you havent before.
All the staff was friendly & helpful. I felt like a VIP.
It was cold waiting on the parade. But it was cute just not long enough.
If you are going to visit more than once during a season, it's best to get a season pass. Food in the park is pricey but the entertainment and the rides through out the season are top notch. I can't wait to go back.
Coasters are great, copperhead not really worth the wait, stick to intimidator and fury for real thrilla!
Of course we love itttttt. Have our season passes and we enjoy it all.
I loved the coasters but the food was ridiculously expensive. I really think the park could work on better food offerings at reasonable prices.
The Winter fest was so much fun and on new year's day it's amazing!
An enjoyable time. Great staff located in the first aid section, very helpful due to a medical situation. The family center located in the kids section was great. As a new mom, it was nice to have a place to change my newborns diaper as well as feed. They had a private feeding section (curtains), highchairs, even a microwave. Would have liked more of these throughout the park. Only complaint this visit had to do with the ride Cobra, going backwards, not being able to anticipate the turn, hurt my neck.
Great fun for the entire family. Food is pricey but if it's added to your season pass it's well worth it. It's our 6th time here so far for the 2017 season. Bring on the summer fun!!
Caroline's was wet. The experience is not the same all the time. I like the food and games. The people come to enjoy themselves openly. There is plenty of variety. I wish them many more
A GREAT THEME PARK! Lots of Coasters, lots of fun! Not an overwhelming crowd for late Spring/early Summer, and with the Fast Pass Plus, we were able to ride ALL the Coasters MULTIPLE times! I especially recommend the Intimidator and the Fury 365. If you ride no other Coasters in your lifetime, these two are a MUST!
I'm terrified of heights and thought I hated roller coasters until I came here. From the intimidator to the copper head to the water slides, there is something for everyone here. And if you get hungry there are plenty of places within the park to stop and get something to eat. Not to mention there are drink stations everywhere you look. So if your looking for a fun time, visit Carowinds!
Nothing but bad customer service here. The employees couldn t give an answer to a question and when they did it was wrong. We were told we could use the locker all day at Harbor Park only to find out we had to take our stuff when the park closed @ 5. There suggestion was to spend more money on another locker for the last 5 hours we were there. We took our stuff out to the car and came back through the security line only to get put back out side the park because we didn t have a stamp. Couldn t use our season pass to re enter the park. So we had to go through the line again to the enter the park. The people at the food places could care less about anyone. The rides took forever because the employees just walk around and they wander. It took them on average 5 minutes to load and unload on a coaster. We got separated from our kids so I asked security if they could just page them and have them meet us at a meeting point ( parents make sure you set up a point to meet kids if get separated. We left the kids phone in the car because of the water park and didn t think enough ahead to do this) and security told us the paging system is for medical emergencies. At least one security officer let my son borrow his cell phone to call me. The park was clean and so staff was very kind and helpful. It seemed a majority don t care and or brand new.
We buy season passes, gold cards for our family and go most over summer vacation. We have never had to wait in long lines, but being pass holders we can come and go to avoid the waits. Decent family day for sure.
Fantastic rides! Not a theme park, but lots of fun!
Carowinds is the BEST vacation spot in the southeast, aside from Florida's attractions, of course. There's a plethora of rides for everyone to enjoy, not everything is a rollercoaster, there's many food options, and this offers great entertainment and seasonal activities.
Rides: there are rides ranging from their carousel, the Yo Yo and Zephyr, the Boo Spook house, rip cord, teacups, water rapids, air balloons, the Ricochet, and of course, their famous rollercoasters. There's something for everyone to enjoy, and lots of choices.
Park sections: the park contains a pretty good number of stylized segments to experience, from the County Fair, Camp Snoopy, 70s Hollywood Theme(?), the Old West, and Carolina Harbor (their water park, and YES, Carowinds also has a water park).
Food: WONDERFUL FOOD CHOICES for an amusement park.
I experienced better choices than even at Disney World, which their food on the actual park grounds ranged from not so good to terrible (their actual restaurants are where you'd rather eat, such as Fulton's House and Planet Hollywood). Back to Carowinds, there's Panda Express, Chick Fil A, and onsite vendors. My personal fave is Harmony Hall, because of the quality. I've never eaten there and left ill. Burgers are awesome, pretty decent pizza, and love their turkey leg.
Activities: Carowinds has a great range of activities, from theater, live shows, an arcade, dog shows, firework shows, Lunch with the Peanuts cast, Beer shows, vendors and much more. They host Cirque de Soleil style shows every summer, from Cirque Imagine to Season of Cirque. And whatever you do, COME TO WINTERFEST, the best Christmas party in the Southeast, almost rivals Disney.
In conclusion, Carowinds is awesome, well worth your money. I advise you get the season pass, come as often as you can, and really have the best fun in the Carolinas!
The park is well kept and is a lot of fun. If you get there early, then there usually isn't too much of a wait with the rides. Try to go on a day when it isn't as hot or you will be miserable!
