My wife was admitted to the ER around 12AM. So far, it s been over three and a half hours and we haven t seen a doctor yet. I can say that her nurse, Jami, is very kind and considerate. I m not sure what their definition of emergency is, but it doesn t equate to what I know it to be.

On another note, my wife gave birth to our second daughter here. The birthing center is amazing, as well as, the staff and doctors. If it weren t for this I d rate them at one star.

Everything was going well until this hospital discharged my father after his posterior cervical neck fusion without evaluating his ability to ascend stairs. My father has an obvious left foot drop. Also they didnt ask him how does he get into his front door. As I was trying to explain my father's situation to the floor nurse named "Tony" on the 5th floor Orthopedic Medical surgical he began to raise his voice with attitude and demean me. So in response I tried to raise my voice just to be heard. And insread of trying to provide quality care and speak to me professionally he decides to call security on me. This type of service really makes me question if the the nursing staff are advocating for the patient rather than time of discharge.

I wrote a big long review but I ll sum it up-
My family member would probably be better off at Onslow Memorial Hospital.....

This is not a 5 star hospital like they claim to be.
Every time I go to this hospital the staff is not pleasant to be around.
They act as if their patients and pt s family members are annoyances.
I don t understand how some of the nurses have degrees. (They don t know what they re doing)
Hospital cop stalks people.
The negative list is endless.

Had to wait hours at the ER, I couldn't even walk and the staff rushed me back to the room knowing I couldn't walk and didn't offer assistance of any kind, just to go back and wait some more. I wouldn't recommend this hospital to anyone. When you check in, and verify information there is no privacy and everyone in the lobby can hear your information. Pathetic hospital, pathetic wait times, you're better off traveling a further distance for a better hospital.

Took my wife here at 5:30 a.m. we were in and out in just over an hour everyone was very friendly and attentive. Even though they don't do dental they gave her the safest prescription they could, enough to get her through the early morning hours till she could see a dentist when they opened. There are some scary reviews so I was worried about going but I'm glad we went and our experience was a good one.

"Take everything bit of advice with a grain of salt."

I have been ill from a relatively rare illness sin...

I have been ill from a relatively rare illness since I was two years old. I am now 65. I have been seen at what I would rate the worst hospital ever (Pitt Memorial Hospital, now named Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, NC) to two of the finest- Duke University Medical Center and CarolinaEast Medical Center. I was admitted to CEMC 8/29/17 and remained for a week. If the Emergency Staff had not been as sharp as they were, I would have died that night. How they realized what was wrong with me as quickly as they did is beyond my understanding. All I know is that I was having all the symptoms of my first stroke. As it was my first grandchild's first birthday, I told them I didn't care if I died past midnight but not to let me die that day. They gave me credit for the miracle but I give it all to God and the wonderful staff at CEMC who were doing His work.

While living in GVL for the last ten years or so I was rushed repeatedly because of the illness that caused my disability. It did not matter how many times I was rushed to that hospital, they would call my children back to GVL from college. Each time they found me on a stretcher in the ER hallway with the physician's report that the psychiatrist had been called to examine me the next day. They told my daughters repeatedly that there was no such illness that I claimed to have. It was first diagnosed among children in the early 1950s and recognized by both the CDC and the NIH, the two official bodies of the US government responsible for recognizing new illnesses. The rift that they created with my daughters is only now being corrected more than 20 years later. I was never examined while there.

If you have had a bad experience at CEMC I encourage you to give them another chance. Perhaps you were admitted with a condition less serious than many others who were in my situation. Sometimes they get swamped and have to prioritize. Sad but true.

I had Spine Surgery (Lumbar Fusion of L2-S1) redone there on May 6th,2019. And had to stay a week due to a unknown fever. I had the best Surgeon and care team one could receive. I was there as a Veteran getting Community Care. The Hospital and staff was great, and made my wife and I comfortable while both of us stayed there every day. I won t display why I give it 4 stars instead of 5 stars, but I left there happy and in better health.

I came into the CEHS ED 16July2014 with a GI bleed. Once the triage nurse noticed I was in acute distress I was IMMEDIATELY taken to a trauma bed where professional kind and compassionate care was given. Once I was stabilized I was transferred to another floor, where more test and care was given, to ICU and finally to room 4520. Every medical professional, from dietary, lab techs, housekeeping and nurses I came in contact with I can't offer enough words of praise and thanks. We are very fortunate to have a facility and health care professionals in our community!!!!

Several weeks ago I went to the er 4 days in a row begging and pleading for help with my depression and suicidal thougts. I have never been demeaned or humiliated more in my life. From the social worker, nurses, tele psychiatrist and dr godwyns staff. A mental health crisis is as much an emergency as any other. On the 4th try i was sent to holly hill which went great. So if you can savely keep driving past carolina east and crossroads. Shame on all of you and may God forgive you because i never will.

This hospital seriously needs someone working there taking insurance information instead of just sending uninsured bills to patients later. It doesn't make sense that we spent about 3 or 4 hours in the hospital that night and had multiple people come to us for information and no one asked for an insurance card when apparently they didn't have our information in their system. On top of their insurance billing issues there's also pretty much no privacy at all in the emergency department. I'm not sure how they are able to have patients so close together and talk to them about their health issues without it being a HIPPA violation. Theres no rooms for patients everyone is literally just separated by curtains, if they are lucky. I could hear staff talking to patients on the other side of the room. Most of the staff are great though its just everything else that really needs improvement.

This is the best hospital to go to if you re having an emergency but more like a take your time emergency. If you like a 8 hour wait in a crowded waiting room. The staff their seems to be on the same page as you. Where they know exactly as much as you do.

I would rather die then go there again, I started to lose my temper their corporate mall cops said I was gonna be arrested for creating a public disturbance. I dared them...they tried to bait me into a fight so I turned the table on them. Just like I thought, they didn't have the courage and backed away. Their triage system there sucks too.Started out as number 4 on the list. Two hours later wasn't even on the list nomore.

Had an infection in my face, went to the ER, had exam done, was told, " there is nothing wrong, we can't find anything wrong", said the doctor. Told them to look at my face, also had swelling and a fever. After discharge went immediately to a doctor who put me on antibiotics, steroids for three weeks, cause I had an infection in my face. Then they charged me $985.00 to MISDIAGNOS me. Could have led to DEATH if infection went further. So why should I pay for this? What a joke. Nobody will talk in the Hospital, but they want me to pay for them to keep making false diagnosis to people. NASTY BUSINESS. had air condition, but, NASTY INCOMPETENT DOCTOR. LOOK UP MY FILE, find that so called doctor and MAKE THEM PAY MY BOTH BILLS.

Had the most horrible ED experience ever in my lif...

Had the most horrible ED experience ever in my life. Took my 85 year old father in because he was not able to walk. Were ignored by the nurses, my father started asking for something for pain about 4pm-had been there since 1 pm, Xray done, blood drawn and then a marathon wait. Everyone acted like they did not have time to talk to us. Close to 8 pm, they came to draw his blood for the 3rd time. 1st one hemolized, 2nd one the lab lost. After that he asked for a urinal, after waiting we went to the nurses station to ask for one. They finally brought one and left, an 85 year old who was there because he could not walk. Family members assisted him with the urinal and urine spilled all over the floor. A young male nurse that was assigned to someone else walked by and saw the urine on the floor. He got towels to dry up the floor. No nurse came to check and see if his clothes were wet of check his skin, remember the patient is 85 years old and can't walk. A doctor finally came to tell us that he had bad arthritis and basically there was nothing they could do. Well they left us to wait some more. We got my nephew's wheelchair, and a walker that had been issued to my husband and the family transferred him to the wheelchair, got him home and up a flight of stairs back to his apartment.

TAKE THE 45 MINUTE DRIVE TO GREENVILLE!! PLEASE!

TAKE THE 45 MINUTE DRIVE TO GREENVILLE!! PLEASE!
9 hour wait total. 10pm-7am. Was never seen by a doctor. I asked for assistance because not a single nurse has been seen for 5 hours - they told me they are "just that busy". Meanwhile, 4 nurses are sitting there talking and scrolling fb on their phones. After I asked and told them people were in distress. They sent a nurse. She went through 3 rooms in no apparent order. I can only assume that since it was me who "complained" is the reason I wasn't seen then.

People are rude here, especially if you call the staff out on their BS.

Worst freaking E.R I've ever been to. The intake nurse and registration lady were the only two people who were not completely incompetent at their jobs. We were sent directly to a room as there were not any other patient's in waiting. Being one of only three patients in the back, I don't understand why I was made to wait 2 hours 48 minutes before first talking to a doctor. Then another 3 hours only to be told, "It could just be a stomach bug, have your 2 year old toddler drink lots of fluids. When in fact, he's had a fever of 101 for a month and has no appetite. He woke up screaming and flailing in the night. Currently on my way to a real hospital, i.e. Vident Greenville or Duke. What a joke.

This hospital has friendly staff, that's the ONLY reason for a star. They are INSANELY slow for the LOW amount of patients they have, or is that they can't afford good internet? The ER has EMERGENCY in it, you'd think they'd have a sense of URGENCY, nope, exact opposite.
I respect those with a higher education but not to those who are HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS that are just talking about non-work related stuff while they have PATIENTS!!!! Horrible hospital, nice people, but it shouldn't ever take 2+ hours to get treated.... Then an additional hour to get the paperwork.

My mother has been hospitalized many times. She has been taken care of, and I'm very VERY thankful for that, Although my aunt went to the ER and was doubling over in pain laying on the Emergency room floor, the triage nurse told her to get up or she would call the police. She asked for a minute and the (excuse my language) Bitchy nurse said no GET UP. Disgusted at the disrespect, we then took her to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville immediately. They saw her right away and said if she waited any longer she could have lost her life. She had a gaping hole the size of a golf ball in her stomach.

Honestly, very very slow and unprofessional. I've been in for DKA, and the doctor said I'd be fine as he'd seen patients with blood sugars of over a thousand. Needless to say I went to Vidant the same day and stayed a week.
They also failed to send a report to my doctor in greenville of my kidneys failing, almost resulting in my death had I not gone to Greenville the same week for other reasons. Lastly two other times in DKA, they gave me so much fluid it began going to my brain and refused to help with pain until I was transported by then it was to late I was already in a coma. Needless to say if I can make it, I'd rather risk a trip to Vidant Medical than go here again.

As a registered nurse, with very high standards, I can say that my family and I received excellent care. Last year, my son was admitted for the first time with DKA after having very controlled Type 1 diabetes. I was a scared mother (and secretly a registered nurse) and they gave him the best care. This past week, I drove myself to the ED at 0330 and ended up with an appendectomy a few hours later. My surgeon, Dr. Hall, was terrific and my nurse, Regina, on the surgical floor was also terrific. I ve never worked at this hospital, but I just might! Thank you for the care we all received and every staff member from the front door to the wheelchair discharge were awesome! 5 stars from me and I m not an easy critic!

Absolutely the worst experience at an ER Dept ever waited over 3 hours and not had my issue I came in for looked at staff very unfriendly and unprofessional when asked about wait times stated we are backed up though my entire 3 hours waiting in waiting room did not see more than the people I started with come in or leave - not to mention HIPPA violation from the moment walking in asking for name and personal info in front of the entire lobby
I would walk out right now had they not stuck an IV in my hand after 2 1/2 hours of waiting and state need CT scan though questionable as the dr still has not even looked at me to see the issue

This is the first hospital I've been in where you can easily see where the cleaning staff is lacking personnel or care for what they do. I've had several family members visit here and each time the rooms weren't clean to the standard I'm sure. When my wife had our baby there it was still someone else's blood on the bed and I had to point it out and ask for it to be cleaned before showtime. Back in school before they changed their name we use to call it Killer Craven.

More hourly wage employees just running out the clock until their shift ends... My eye was swelling in pain while I watched 2 nurses talk for 30-45 minutes with my other eye. Now, I understand you'll be waiting a while at the emergency room, but this was 4am and it was me and one other person... This is the third time in a row I have been here and received poor service:
The first time was for a family member and the people that check you in were joking with another patient in front of us for about 15 minutes. The issue was there were about 7-10 people in line.
The second time the staff were simply rude.

I went to the ER at Carolina East Hospital in New Bern, NC on June 4, 2020. I have been struggling with a sore throat since late March; however on that Thursday afternoon my throat began to swell and I couldn't swallow.

The pain was beyond anything that I had ever felt, so we went to the ER. Those heroes put me back together and I have a plan for getting better.

I am not sure that I should mention names because I would leave some out, but I what to thank all of you. You gave me hope.

4.12.2019 (my birthday) I sat in the hospital from 9am to 5:30. Unless you are a heart patient do NOT wast your time going here. I had a doctors appt next door at Internal Medicine. I was sent over to the ER. From the time I was there I was bounced around multiple times from one room to the next. I started at the front desk, then through the glass door for vitals, then "take a seat", then sent to the next room to talk to PA and NP. Once they left I heard them talking on the other side of the door. I quote "She "claims" to have Idiopathic Retroperitoneal Fibrosis!" Had they read my extensive medical file on record they would have know I was treated for almost 2 years by the head of Nephrology at John Hopkins on Chemo for 16 months etc! On to the please "take a seat room" again. Then called into another room where it is set up strictly for IV's. Because of the chemo my veins are limited. I told her where to stick. She decided the middle of my arm was good and blew my vain. I have to tell her where to stick the second time since she failed to listen the first time. Then - you guessed it back to the "please take a seat room!" It was now almost 3pm. I went back to the front desk and asked "Do you people know what the hell you are doing here? I have been here since 9am and have been bounced all over the place. the woman that takes the vitals came in and said "we just found a bed for you."I get back to section 5 bed 5 and I wait for about 30 minutes prior to John the nurse to come in. He was great I appreciated him. Then the doctor came in and ordered a cat scan with out dye since I am highly allergic to it. Once back in my room I saw John once more for a pain med and he was off to lunch. After another 30 minutes pain was worse and no one was around. At 5:15 the doctor came back and said everything looks good. Follow up with your primary. I left with the same problem and the same pain. I followed up with my GI 4.15.2019 who pulled up my catscan from the hospital. He did NOT like what he saw and wasn't sure how the hospital missed it. I have ischemic colitis! Very painful and very serious. The entire trip to the hospital was worthless. The doctor at the hospital said we have done all we can do here since I cannot have IV dye. I did tell him I can have an MRA (uses a different dye.) He discharged me anyway. Here is the kicker. Instead of saying we will admit for further testing so we can figure out the next plan of action to help you because he did nothing. I have Medicare & medicaid which covers 100% of my hospitalization. MY RATING IS "0"FOR THIS HOSPITAL. I SUGGEST IF YOU CAN GET TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL - DO IT. **HOWEVER** DO NOT DO IT IF YOU HAVE A LIFE THREATENING EMERGENCY!! Bottom line this hospital NEEDS better qualified doctors and nurses and a complete overhaul. The "please have a seat room" fits about 20-25 people. There were folks in there with the contagious diseases with no mask on. The last thing any patient wants to do when coming into the ER is be bounced around from room to room when they are not feeling well let alone pick up the flu or any other contagious disease when they are already had one problem that brought them to the ER. The hospital is not equipped to handle an overflow of patients nor do they have rooms for them. Hence the "please sit and suffer: room!

I cannot say enough terrible things about this hospital! My mom was admitted in November of 2014 after going into cardiac arrest and being revived by EMT's at her home. The Doctors insisted she was completely brain dead and would need a feeding tube inserted and essentially become a vegetable. We opted for her to be taken completely off ALL sedation medications before we removed life support and what do you know she woke up and began speaking. Instead of keeping her in ICU (unable to move her arms and form full sentences) they moved her down to a low level care when she was still unable to move on her own. We were called and notified she had choked on her vomit and had pneumonia and was not waking up from it. (Odd!) 3 days later still had not waken up, we demanded brain scans and found out she had a stroke 3 days prior. Knowing stroked can be reversed if discovered within the first three hours, infuriates me further, there is no reason a healthy 50 year old woman should be 6 feet under due to terrible terrible medical staff! Had these doctors paid a bit more attention to their patients then my mother very well may still be alive today. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES TO THIS HOSPITAL!!!!!!

After waiting 8 hours in an isolation room within the Emergency Room to get an IV ordered by my doctor - I was never seen by an ER doctor, and I never got the IV. I had symptoms of the flu (hence the isolation room). I finally had to go to the nurses' station and ask to be discharged. I have only one kidney (they knew it) and dehydration could have been fatal. Of course, the hospital billed me $900 for, essentially, doing nothing. This was 2 years ago.

Husband went in for severe lower back pain and all they cared about was testing him repeatedly for COVID! He did not go in with ANY of the symptoms and was not there for that! Tested him for covid , gave pain meds and sent him out the door because he was negative for covid! Wth? Told him to follow up with a orthopedic that doesn't even do spines! They don't even know who to refer you to?? I'm very unhappy!
Update! He has seen the spine doctor and they were very upset the hospital didn't at least do an xray and see how bad it really was! If he had lifted anything or twisted wrong he would be paralyzed right now! But sent him home with pain meds and pushed him out the door!

I would give this hospital a 0 star if I could. My aunt went in for coughing at 11 am, and she did not receive a drop of water until 12pm the next day. She kept asking the nurses, but no one got back to her, and she wasn't allowed to leave her room to get it herself (prob. because of covid procedures). My mom brought her food, and had to wait 2-4 hrs in line each time. Finally, a nurse had to go get her food. They took my aunt's blood every day, and failed to give her adequate food/water.

A few years back, my mom's appendix ruptured. In the emergency room, they put her in a room and no one came for like 45 minutes. My mom was literally crying from pain. I looked outside at the nurses, and they were just sitting on their desks, and no one seemed to be busy/rushing. Finally they did an ultrasound, and surgery a few hours later. I think, if they waited longer, her appendix might've killed her. Staff showed little concern/empathy. Very very slow-paced, low-quality care, expensive hospital.

My husband has been in CarolinaEast Medical Center...

My husband has been in CarolinaEast Medical Center on a number of occasions and has always been extremely pleased with the level of care given him during each stay, as have I. We found this hospital to be far superior to another local hospital for the care of the nursing staff and MOST of the physicians with which he saw during each of his stays. The nursing staff were compassionate, personable, and professional. There has been a couple of physicians that we will NOT deal with in the future, but doesn't every hospital have at least one or two of 'those' rude doctors that have no bedside manners? I think so, and we will not take them into consideration when making our choice as to which hospital to use in the future. We will ALWAYS make the 45-minute drive to CarolinaEast Medical Center any time we need to go to an emergency department, and that includes me as well. I don't know of anything else to say except, this facility and the majority of its staff are the best in the area as far as we are concerned. As for some of the other reviews, you must always be your own advocate no matter what medical facility you (or your loved one) go to and remember EVERY emergency department (again no matter which hospital you go to) has to prioritize each case. There just might be another emergency case that is a life or death situation. Patience is a virtue.

I WILL ONLY COME HERE IF ITS A LIFE OR DEATH SITUA...

I WILL ONLY COME HERE IF ITS A LIFE OR DEATH SITUATION. A shard of metal embedded in my eye. Long story short... Never saw a real doctor. A q-tip was used to try and get the object loose. I was sent home with double the pain with the metal still in my eye. Not to mention this was the weekend so I had to wait til Monday for the optometrist to remove. The hospital charged me $650 for a q-tip, dye, and numbing drops. The optometrist charged me $250 for a retina scan, eye test, all of the same materials that the hospital used and the surgical removal of the metal. What a scam by Carolina East. Well done, bravo for being the biggest crooks in town. I just love how the man(opthamologist at Taylor retina) who actually accomplished his job and did twice as much, all while having great patient relations is getting paid half as much as the hospital. The hospital that states "well a service was provided so you have to pay". Well your "service" was botched and I wouldn't send my dog there if I didn't have to. Have a nice day.

By 11:50PM still sitting in waiting room and watched someone else come get checked in and sent back right back for CT in less the 45 mins. That is when I made the choice to go to Greenville.

I've been quite impressed with the staff here. Everyone I have encountered has been warm, friendly, and accommodating, from the coffee shop employee to the nuclear medicine nurse who took time away from her department to help my mother with a wheelchair (procuring said wheelchair, and wheeling my mother from surgical waiting to the information desk, and up to the orthopedics floor). Several people have stopped what they were doing to walk me to my destinations. The staff caring for my father on the orthopedics floor have been friendly, professional, prompt, and helpful. We couldn't have asked for better care! I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone.

Please pay attention to bills. My daughter hurt her foot on a Saturday afternoon. So since her physician was closed I had no choice and took her to the ER. I knew our wait might be long due to the fact that an injured foot is not life threatening but need evaluated. When I first arrived to triage the nurse was discussing how another patient was faking her injury to another staff member, inappropriate place for the conversation. We were triaged quickly. I was surprised how quickly we were called back. I wheeled my daughter back to the room and it was smaller than most closets. There was only a chair for the patient and no room for another. The door was a lovely curtain. I m assuming this was a minor care area. There was zero privacy. Luckily we were there for an injured foot. We were taken to X-ray before ever seeing anyone and again I was delighted in the speed. I knew the X-ray was the only thing we truly needed. The X-ray staff were unfriendly and insensitive to the fact my daughter couldn t put weight on her injured foot. We were taken back to the same closet. Our nurse came in and said her name and walked away no type of assessment. We saw a PA, which was fine for an injured foot, it was kinda comical to watch her try and fit into our closet. She was in our closet for 2 mins max. She was unable to determine based on X-ray if the foot was fractured, literally the only reason I came to the hospital. So she said she would place a splint and for us to have another X-ray in 5 days. The nurse came and moved us to a waiting room where other patients were also waiting. Then in this waiting room in front of multiple strangers, a splint was applied to my daughters foot. Again zero privacy. They were rushing us everywhere. Then we were discharged with very little education. My daughter was never educated on crutches or how to care for her splint. Luckily her mom is a nurse and knew how to educate her. So imagine my surprise when I received a bill for a couple thousand dollars. For an X-ray and minimal staff interaction. I literally spent more time talking to a register then anyone else. When I called billing to see what was so expensive I found out they charged us wrong for our level charge. They refused to explain the charge. I while questioning the level charge the rude and unprofessional man answered that it was placed by the physician. Let s ignore the fact that I never saw a physician. This is inaccurate because a triage nurse placed your triage level. I could tell nobody was going actually be able to explain the charges and that I was expected to just shut up and pay. Must be nice to charge whatever you want to pay for all these fancy new buildings. I will never understand how this is a supposedly 5 star hospital. I will not be returning by choice to this facility. This is just one of many experiences with this facility that was unsatisfactory.

Wow this was terrible EMERGENCY SERVICE. We brought in a friend who may have been suffering from a stroke around 8:30 pm
We got stuck in a second waiting room, going on 6 hours now.
I ve seen at least 8 people who came in after us go in and we still are sitting here. This hospital needs to reevaluate the definition of Emergency and patient care. I just don t know what to say, I m shocked and appalled. I talked to the nurse at the nurse s station, although she was polite at 2 in the morning I felt patronized with explanations of being backed up since 7 and more emergent cases, I m sorry but possible stroke is pretty serious to me. Praying for someone to see us before dawn or perhaps before the next coming of Jesus. Lord, I ve been patient but this is beyond my threshold. There has to be a way better process!

Urgent care sent me here WITH radiology CD IN HAND...

Urgent care sent me here WITH radiology CD IN HAND. No other patients were in the lobby when I arrived. There are no other patients with severe conditions or chest pain. I've been in the lobby for OVER 2 HOURS, despite immense pain, a tennis-ball sized abcess in my abdomen, near my VPshunt lining (as seen on ct taken TODAY, on the disc I gave them when walked on the door!). They took me back, put an IV port in my arm, then even though I am a HIGH RISK for infection patient, sent me BACK to the lobby with the port, around a lady coughing her head off!!!!!!!!!! Meanwhile, they keep "weeding out" other "less intense" patients who can be seen by a nurse!!!! That being said, I think most of these concerns are due to lack of proper number of employees more than anything. And poor triage procedures and guidelines.

Once out of triage, the radiology tech, nurses, and PA Joanne Murphy in particular, who was the first 100% straightforward person I saw tonight, were all LEAGUES better, which is the ONLY reason it gets 3 stars. One for the hospital and one for Joanne. Stephen Hardin, my nurse, is also friggin awesome! He's handled 1 full on anxiety attack tonight and is super friendly. He's also a great active listener, so one of my stars goes to him! The team here in the ER have checked in on me at least once per hour, PLUS come quickly when I push the call button for assistance. The ER social worker, Kimberly Merwin, was also very sweet. I can't really rate the rest of the hospital, but this was my experience tonight. Started off BAD, but got better.

Update: I had to go to Duke and have brain surgery to remove my shunt and had an infection of the vrain. I was in the ICU for a week.

Update 2: I had to go back to the ER yesterday, 22 days from the 1st time. This time, the triage nurse's name was Brebda. She saw I was a high risk for illness and infection, so she had me sit in a private waiting area away from other patients. I only waited about an hour to be seen and only people who had worse conditions or were there before me were seen before me. No IVs were placed prior to going to a room. Everyone was very nice. The doctor, Tony and the xray tech, Jessica, were extremely nice, knowledgeable, personable, and attentive to my needs both physically and emotionally. This time was a lot better. I'm not changing the rating because the last visit was so unacceptable, however, if they continue to be better in the past, I'll keep you updated.

The emergency department is THE slowest I have ever seen. If you have an emergency, you are really better off to go somewhere (anywhere) else. And the staff could not have seemed less concerned with the well-being of the patients.

orthopedic hospitalists, were to begin. Did not send me to physical therapy, would not help me with pain after 30 days, told me it was out of there hands. Im 2 years past a broken fibula and still have trouble walking when it changes temperature. When out of work they did not set up a payment plan with me and took me to collections. Having perfect credit I put it on my card until I could go back to work to pay it off. If you care about your body do not go to these jokers. I only hope there kids grow up and get the same treatment I did. I would recommend going to Greenville were they don't give medical degrees from cracker jack boxes. If you think Im kidding, I will gladly show all of my medical records from here. Thanks and good luck.

Terrible work ethics, disgustingly slow, not too busy yet we have been waiting since 1030pm and have YET to be seen by anyone useful/remotely close to being able to solve the issue. Terrible hospital. Is a literal joke.

It is one of the worse ers i have ever been in. Sevice so slow you could die. When you have to wait for hours in lobby then hours waiting for a doctor to see you. Then hours for all things doctor orders then hours to be seen by another doctor because 1st doctor's shift is over. You are better off going to your doctor

This hospital violates HIPAA rules and policies in a way I've never seen. There's a "treatment area" where people get treated in chairs when there's not enough beds. No curtains, no privacy. We can see each other and hear each other's situation. Triage nurse, although very nice, put my information in a computer that faced me and the young lady sitting beside me (that's how close the seating is). She was able to see my information on that computer. AND, my daughter has been wheezing and having labored breathing, and we've been waiting over an hour for her nebulizer treatment. She's only a year old. They're facing lawsuits if they don't get it together soon.

When I was in my room I had a nurse named Arlene and a nurse named Holly and they were the best two nurses anyone could ever have they took care of me with no questions asked and did everything they could for me to help me out. And I want to say this is the best hospital ever. Thanks for everything

I come up to visit my mother in the hospital and the staff are walking very slowly in the hallway yapping at one another. I was walking behind them and they rudely stop and blocked the hallway, do they not have work to do??? I said excuse me and they completely ignored me. They appeared to be cleaning crew with zero regard to me being a visitor. i watched one of them throw a wrapper on the floor in the hallway and just ignore it. Not a very high regard of cleanliness here. Next time my mother will go to Vidant, they tend to be considerate to visitors and the facility.

Its honestly a shame I have to leave even one star to submit a review. But i just went in because i was passing a kidney stone and i told them i was in the worst pain i have ever experienced, with that information the sat me in a rolling chair and placed me in the corner at an empty desk for 15 minutes. On top of tht the nurse litterally grabbed my wifes shoulder and forced her to turn around and go back to were i was wen i asked my wife to find me some water. Needless to say even in pain me and wife pulled out of there and litterally drove 45 min for adequate medical treatment.

I waited 7 hours in the emergency room in a lot of pain. I arrived at 2:00 & didn t see a doctor until 11:00. Other people were complaining too, some threatened to walk out. All the nurses were very nice, but the inefficiency of the emergency room was staggering!
