Smaller than I'd expected, and it's showing its age in a lot of ways. In particular, the lighting along the pathway from the parking lot and up the staircase really needs to be repaired and/or improved.

I've been to events here before, the team is incredibly accommodating. Beautiful space, called to talk about hosting future events and Kimberly was incredibly knowledgable and helpful.

Good except one person was smoking cigarettes in a non smoking area. The staff responded quickly to ask the person to move elsewhere.

Im not a member of the Britannia Yacht Club but I can tell you the grounds and facilities are beautiful and the harbor well protected. The people who I've met there have been friendly and helpful and the history of the place is interesting.

The wedding was very nice. Enough space for everyone. A little hot inside the reception area but still adequate for the function with fans.
My wife and I had our wedding reception here and it was brilliant! The food was excellent, and the staff did an outstanding job of ensuring that our guests needs were met. And, the stunning setting overlooking the water, along with the most spectacular sunset, added that extra special something to our celebration. If you re looking for a place for your reception, we d recommend BYC in a heartbeat.

Britannia Yacht Club is like an oasis in the middle of the City. Situated on Lac Deschenes facing the west it is easily the best place in Ottawa to enjoy majestic sunsets while sipping a beverage on the patio. As well with the majestic Deschene Rapids running besides the northern shoreline it has this unique soundtrack unlike any yacht club I know. We took part in a sailing program with Advantage Boating in the morning followed by whitewater rafting with Ottawa City Rafting with lunch in the middle at the clubhouse. Best company trip ever.
Weren't welcoming of visitors, charged an arm and a leg for gas.

I was a member there for a bit and still go there occasionally for a bite and a drink.. Lovely patio and a great sailing club.

The ice was going and some boaters were checking there boats in storage. The water levels were raising leading to a flood.
Had my wedding here a couple months ago, I wish I had been better informed that I would not have needed a wedding planner and that the Event manager would have been more than enough help, as I spent an extra 2000$ on a wedding planner that didn't really do much other then guide me a bit and be there on the day of. (Which Breanna would have been there instead of the wedding planner and I wouldn't have had to pay more) Although my guests had a great time I was disappointed that the layout of the room was not executed well at all. My end of the head table was shoved against a window so close that I barely had room to get in and out of my seat, the room had gaps here and there- I did not appreciate the poor execution of the layout after a lot of communication went into this with the wedding planner, event manager and rental company.- No one came to the rescue and said " doesn't this room look a little weird, we should move some table". My guests were happy with the food!! Thank goodness because my DJ and Cake sucked!

Had my daughter's wedding reception here recently.. Staff and facilities were super! Best was the easy access and after partyp transportation for all guests as opposed to worrying about guests driving from the boonies somewhere
two years ago I hated sailing but it actually changed my life! I am 11 yrs old so get your child to come to britannia yacht club and have an education of sailing for two weeks
Britannia Yacht Club is a beautiful private club in a quiet suburb of Ottawa. The views of the Ottawa River are absolutely splendid. Nearby Britannia Conservation Area with its Mud Lake is also worth to be discovered.
Beautiful part of Ottawa, away from downtown. The grounds are amazing to walk and take in the Ottawa River views. The building itself is loaded with history and tons of trophies and pictures to discover. A priceless Ottawa jewel.
This is where you can find brave and noble sailors. The club situates on the vicinity of Ottawa river rapids. Over the years the sailors from the club were involved in rescuing boaters, Windsurfers or other adventurers who lost control and were in danger of being washed down the rapids. The club teaches kids how to sail and the little white sails make a memorable summer scene on the Ottawa river. Big thanks to the generous and warm hearted sailors and rescuers.

Cottage in the city! Great place to sail from, very friendly atmosphere. Also a great place to work on your boat. Cap the day off with a beer and fish n chips at sunset.
Best yacht club on the Ottawa River. The main club offers delicious food of all kinds (Fries, Poutine, Salad, Burgers, Steak, etc..). Also, it s a great place to drink beer (if your 19+ of course) and watch the best sunset on the Ottawa river. The junior club on the other side hosts multiple fun camps where your kids can sail and make good friends. I sail a boat called an optimist at the junior club, and it s safe to say I spend most of my time around there.

Had our wedding here on a rainy day. The staff went above and beyond for us to help accomodate. Breanna was great at making the day smooth sailing and was always prompt to reply to all our questions during the time leading up to our big day as well. The cost of renting the upper floor included all the coloured linens, chair covers, ceiling drapes, backdrop for head table draping, string lights on celing, one hour for ceremony under their marquise tent by the water and the chairs for there. Great deal. The food was tasty and all my guests had a great day.
A nice place to hang out every weekend. We are family members there and spend almost 6 days a week during summer. Their restaurant makes good food. Dining, launching, and using their facilities are limited to members. But, it makes it a safe, peaceful place. Their kids summer programs are awesome, too.
