Great place for lunch after touring the Midway or wondering around the harbor. It was my firsr time there, many choices from their menu, good selection of beers and liquors for a little shop near the water. There are so many place to seats, either tables near by or pick a table near the water and have a good view of San Diego harbor. I was my first time there, Triple Thread sandwich was amazing and would have it again. It is so conviennce to grab a good food in this place without getting in the car. It is in walking distance of the Maritime, Midway museums, SD harbor, Seaport Village and few blocks away from Santa Fe train station. I would stop by this place again and again for the foods, drink and amazing service.

Review of the bar only...great location, limited selection of beers, servers seemed like they needed a break or maybe some air conditioning. Makes me think: convenience sometimes means compromise.

Nice area but on a Saturday afternoon they don t have half the items on the cocktail menu because they are out of a number of ingredients. Can t even make a mojito. Margaritas tasted the same even though they were supposed to be different.

Pro tip: order beer you can t go wrong that way

Nice place for a quick snack and drinks. My wife had the fish tacos and I had their burger. Each was pretty good. The wait for our food was a bit long (15 mins). But our waitress was awesome and made the wait seem short. There is a mini bar with great bartenders and variety of local beers. A bit pricey but was to be expected around a touristy area. Overall a good spot.

This place is really good. I always passes by it when walking downtown and decided to stop. The food is worth it and especially if you love pork aka carnitas. Great location to sit down a d eat. I highly recommend it.

Fantastic tacos!! Ordered a couple and did NOT expect to get almost a pound of food! Do NOT get greedy and up your prices!! I love how reasonable your prices are compared to the over priced mediocre places in and around downtown.

We ordered fish tacos (picture), a hamburger and carnitas tacos. The carnitas tacos were ok, nothing amazing.. the hamburger was drenched in oil and it was horrible and caused a stomach ache, and the fish tacos were meh and almost flavorless with a horribly cooked tortilla.

I honestly wouldn't describe this as Mexican and although the price is ok, it's a bit of a tourist trap. It has a very good location and quite convenient.

I'd honestly look for another place to go.

The burger (the one with the sliced steak and without cheese and sauces but with pepper, tomatoes and cucumber) I've eaten here is certainly the best among the many I've tasted on my US tour. It is abundant and the price is more than good: $ 12 with beer and the unquenchable American tip.
Close early, outdoor tables on the seafront.

We were a bit underwhelmed by the food at Carnitas, after all the hype.

Location wise, it's located in what looks like a ticket booth, next to the marina and boardwalk, and is adjacent to an outdoor bar area, where we sat, ate and drank.

The ladies serving must have had a busy time, as they didn't seem to be in the best of moods at the time. When combined with the "just ok" food, this translated into a rather mediocre overall experience.... Not bad, but not particularly good either.

Of all the food we ate during our stay in San Diego, this was (surprisingly) amongst the "least good" and didn't represent particularly good value for money.

Really enjoyed lunch and drinks here. There was a busker next to the bar, playing great music, adding nicely to the ambiance. This place is in a great location, with many sites just a few minutes walk away.

When you are visiting San Diego, definitely check this place out. It's right on the bay and only a few blocks from the mass transit hub. The bartenders we're quick, and they usually have live music. The tap beer menu is limited, but what is available is definitely first rate.

This is a great place to grab a drink and or lunch before you board your your cruise ship, Broadway Pier is right there.

I liked the venue and the food was good. Had ordered the BLT and it was just too much bread for me. There is a good amount of seating and it's a nice place to people watch, if you like that sort of thing. Pets are ok too.

I guess meat makes you dumb, cause we saw a sign that said "vegan gone bad". We asked two people that worked there if the place was vegan and they both said yes. Then asked what was the mock meat and cheeses made with and they said meat and dairy, lol whatever turds, dur dur dur

I haven't had anything bad here yet. But the two best items on their menu are the BLT and the breakfast burrito. Make sure to order some extra salsa with the burrito. It's great without it, but it definitely makes it even better.

While the wait staff is always super friendly and helpful, like amazingly so, I recommend grabbing it to go and finding a spot to eat even nearer the water.

Try and get here when a cruise ship is NOT in port. The embarcadero is a mess when one is, and doubly so when a Disney cruise ship is pulling out and you have to listen to them try and hype up the passengers over their obnoxiously loud PA.

Location is super windy.

Location is super windy.

Seasoned fries is dry and nothing special.
The corn bread that comes with meal is dry and sweet.

The Snack Shack sandwich is not bad.
The best thing here is the Pork Belly appetizer.

I ordered a beer and the bartender tells me they need to change out the keg. No problem, I can wait. 20 minutes later, I get my food. I go back to the bar to see if I can get my beer. Bartender asks me what I ordered. I tell him I ordered a summer ale. Bartender turns around and starts helping other customers. After standing at the bar for several minutes, I decide to just eat my food before it gets cold.

I ordered the burger and fries. The burger was very ordinary other than the extreme amount of lettuce. The fries were just ok. I never did get my beer. 45 minutes and no beer. On my way out I approached the bar and the bartender says "Oh yeah summer ale right? We had to change the keg out." No kidding...

Great service and tacos were fresh. For tacos, carnitas are better than the fish tacos. Fish had no taste of its own. Haven't had their other stuff yet. Great atmosphere and location by the pier.

Food was great and at a fair price. Location is by the Broadway Pier. Complimentary water is available. Seating is outside and when your order is ready, staff will bring out your food to your table.

Carnitas snack shack

Carnitas snack shack
Swine club, triple deker, pork belly, crispy ham, bacon, BBQ potato chips, lettuce, tomato, avocado, chive aioli, garlic aioli on grilled sweet brown bread. This is a pork lovers blt. It was pieced together beautifully. Now for the bad things, it was way over priced, took 20 minutes to make one sandwich and the service sucked.

I had the Snackshack Steak sandwhich and Garlic Fries...Sooo good!!!! Good amount of food. Good vibe with music playing. Not a restaurant you drive to, you park somewhere else and walk over. I was visiting the SS Midway and walked over.

My experience at this place was excellent. At the time we went it was very busy, your manager Christina was very attentive and so were the waitress and waiters. The managers recommendation of food was perfect! Give her a 5 star!
