Second restaurant of this San Diego favorite. The embarcadero is a beautiful backdrop. live music and cornhole games with outdoor atmosphere. triple threat sammie is a favorite along with the pork belly sliders. Decent beer selection and standard bar choices. Avoid the margaritas though. blah.

Have frequented the North Park location for sometime and the food, in both quality and flavor, are the same. Seating can get a little crazy as it is in a very touristy part of town, but nice little spot to try some great pork based dishes.

What a perfect lunch location! Right on the Embarcadero. There aren't a whole lot of other options in such a prime location in that area. Their chicken sandwich is just scrumptious! There is a line in front to wait in to get food at the window, but there is also seating on each side where a server will come take your order.

The best meal here is the Crispy Chicken Sandwich, I will pass on the carnitas tacos and have a good sandwich instead. There's a bar if you want to enjoy a refreshment while you wait up on the several touristic attractions around the area.

I miss the pig on the roof like North Park and of course its a more touristy vibe but great location and table service. I still like the small walk up window in North Park, food was, as usual, great. Pic as taken from old baseball park across the street. Nostalgic. Do you still have the bacon brownies?

The monster BLT is amazing!!! This sandwich is sure to take away your hunger pains. The lettuce and tomato was fresh and crisp. And the heat lamps are great for having a nice lunch by the ocean on a chilly day.

Yum

Had a really delicious late luncheon here yesterday, and very reasonably priced to boot. I had the Monster BLT sandwich and my friend had the Smokey Pig BBQ sandwich. Both were really tasty. The BLT was enormous. Massive amount of bacon, of the thick variety and chewy rather than crispy. But still well cooked. There was also a bit of chili heat in the mayo (aioli). The brioche toast had a hint of sweetness which put the sandwich over the edge to wonderland. Yum.

We also shared an order of garlic fries. Very well seasoned and full of umami goodness from the Parmesan cheese. Plenty in one order for two to share. I had self-serve ice water and my friend had coffee which was OK.

Beyond the food, the place was clean and the setting was gorgeous with front row views of the waterfront and Embarcadero. Be aware it's a noisy spot along North Harbor Drive and the muzak was loud. There's no indoor seating but most of the outdoor seating is covered. Will definitely return when we're in the area.

Good location and nice vibe and that's about it. Don't usually review food joints but shiitt....ordered a steak sandwich and it was shredded sandwich steak between cheese toast and a few toppings and sauce. Asked the bloke what the best beer was and tried the alpine, which tasted like pine cones?? Some may like the food and beer but I'll pass.

We used to love North Park Carnitas, it was one of our favorite places in San Diego and we were bummed when it closed. We have now gone go the Embarcadero location a few times and dont plan on going back. The food quality has gone way down, prices have gone up alot(several dollars per item) and the vibe has changed from a relaxed locals spot to a touristy place. Sad to lose such a good place.

This is a great spot for late night eats and drinks. Excellent atmosphere being outside and by the water. There was a Live DJ with a sax player going on Friday night. Easily keeping the party going with high energy too. Drinks were good, the food is well known and tasty. If you visit downtown and are up late this is a great spot to experience.

Looking for place to eat and drink with a view? Cannot get better than this. Located near boat landing and aircraft carrier you can tour. This place has great vibe, great view and fantastic music by local DJ's. Good place to get your property on.

Best time to come is happy hour, otherwise it is a little pricey. Food is tasty and good size portions. Service can be slow sometimes, I think it depends where you sit. One thing is for sure, you can't beat the view.

The device they give to bring your food went off for about 5 minutes and they never brought my food. I had to go to the window to get the food. The tacos were very good but the fries were cold. After a new order of fries came they were clearly not worth the near $4 up charge.

Miss the north park location, it was my favorite place to eat in San Diego. I went today and found out there's no more steak sandwich and the fries are lame. Food is very dry and doesn't come close to what used to be back in north park. This place is not carnitas, it's just an empty shell.

I got the triple threat sandwich, the snack shack burger, garlic fries, and mac and cheese on the side. First let me say that the mac and cheese was pretty tasteless and rubbery. Think worse than grocery store picked up mac and cheese. Next the garlic fries...they were so soggy and greasy, I couldn't eat much. My girl on the other hand loved them. So it's a toss up. The burger was good. The sandwich was extremely dry as the shredded pork seemed to be without much sauce or juices. A little disappointed. Overall, cool place, but I would not spend 50+ bucks on a dinner here again. Maybe as a quick pick up along the pier.

I feel so bad having to post this but most of our group got sick after eating here. Don't get me wrong, the food tastes pretty good, but... we threw most of it back up. I don't know if it's because they weren't used to "Mexican" food or what. Atmosphere is great, staff are super super nice, but... we all got really really sick.

restaurant and bar are completely outdoor. we had the steak sandwich and fries. the sandwich was excellent with the right balance of meat bread and veggies and the steak was super tender, the "ketchup" given with the fries is so good and fresh tasting. if they sold it I would have bought a bottle.

Friendly staff, delicious carnitas tacos, fresh chips and salsa, and excellent location (harbor front). Was on jury duty and on last day of deliberations, 11 of us walked down together to grab lunch. Since our party was so large, seating not available so we sat at benches nearby. Manager came over to check on us and make sure we were all satisfied. Impressed by that. Will definitely be back! (One of my peers had the pork sliders - they looked amazing, so will try those next)!

Came in on a Wednesday and took full advantage of the Triple Threat and beer combo special. The sandwich was incredible! I was concerned that it would be dripping with grease, but it was cooked/fried just right. I especially liked the schnitzel on the sandwich. They were rolling out a new cocktail menu the night we came in, so we tried one of the drinks as well. The drink was a bit on the sweet side, especially considering it was a spin on the very whiskey forward old fashioned. Beer selection, however, is solid. Surprisingly comfortable and warm even on a chilly Dec night, considering it is outside by the bay.
