I mean prices for alcohol are really good on specials, but the only good food I've had there is the nachos, the salads and the wings are terrible. Wings have too much breading and flavour lacks in the inside and the salad is just terrible

Local watering hole. Been coming here since we were teenagers. Hasn't changed since the 80s, but it doesn't need to. Friendly staff, great nachos, chill patio. I especially love the Oaxaca, Fritz, and Pig & Pineapple nachos.
Best Mexican food in Winnipeg! I've been eating there for 20 years! Still one of mine and my family's favorite place to eat! Definitely try the chicken almond chimichangas! It wont disappoint!
Stupid busy all the time , stupid expensive (18$ for 3 tacos) I can fly to Mexico cheeper then that ..... everything on the menue is 18$+, and it is not that great
I've been to Carlos and Murphy's a few times in the last year and it has been great. This time I ordered the Carlos and Murphy's wings and my wife ordered the shrimp tacos and both were great. We went for lunch and the place was quiet and nice to look at. I have no complaints.
The retried beans looked like a big pile of dog poo, and were so dry they turned to dust! Terrible service from the pissy bartender and ok from the server. Taco bowl tastes like nasty old oil. Can't think of any reason to return.
I visited it yesterday close to 9:30P.M , ordered carlos golden wings and it tasted spicy just thee way I like it. Plus it's not expensive. Just wish the place had better tables and chairs.
This place has happy hour 7 days a week. The prices during this time is hard to beat, especially in a trendy area. They include deals on beer and wings. Good selection and fantastic service.
Love the food here, service is great, atmosphere is laid back and if you have a sailors mouth you are politely told to express yourself in a way that is less offensive to the senses. Drinks are usually on point. Awesome summer spot but I think its even better in the winter... its decor is warm and allows for a mini escape from Winnipegs cold winters. Thanks for the experience C&M's
Not very good Mexican food. Corn chips look like store bought. I m from Texas and I ve had my fair share of authentic Mexican food and was hoping to it find there. Disappointed...
Grade A service with fantastic food choices, comfortable atmosphere, and a great drinking selection to boot. Feels like a treasure find for a hole in the wall type bar.
A great place for nachos . Price is reasonable with loads of toppings layered throughout. The Carlos nachos with added pulled pork is my absolute favorite .
Great food good service. I would have gave 5 stars but the beer wasn't cold enough. It's the second time around I've noticed the beer being fairly warm. Other than that no complaints
Always great food and service at Carlos. Went with colleagues so always get the same thing, I don't eat meat and found it very accommodating/ full of choices and flavour. Server was beyond great, will be back soon!
Best rest in the Village. Carlos nachos are so good. Wings are yum and both a great value. Other Mexican dishes are hugely portioned And that strawberry frittata type dessert is to die for... Never disappointed when we go to Carlos.
Not amazing but not awful. The decor is dated. Televisions are everywhere but at least it has a patio down the side of the building so you can get fresh air.
Great food, great service and great patio!! I went here recently with some old friends for a girls night! We really enjoyed the selection of entrees and happy hour drinks. Our server was great! She went very informative about food and drink choices and when I didn t like the fries she gave me a substitute no questions asked. The HUGE dessert was the boom!!
Love this place! The half and half wings are crispy and just enough heat to not be too spicy. The nachos are a hit and miss. Sometimes they are great and sometimes they are over cooked. Service is always outstanding!
Is this Winnipeg s oldest Mexican restaurant? Quite possibly. A fixture in Osborne Village since the days when the sidewalks were crowded with hippies and the air smelt of patchouli and the unwashed. The food continues not to disappoint and the beer is cold. The margaritas are in the small size (but maybe all the big glasses were dirty that night). Sort of handicap accessible but there will be some challenges. I have just been told it only opened in the mid eighties but my memories of the village have always included Carlos & Murphy s
Honestly, I think this place is overrated. Prices seem pretty steep for what you're getting. It's decent Mexican food in small portions for a lot of money. I think they take advantage of people after a night of drinking wanting some Mexican food. There are better options in Winnipeg.
I just had a beer with a few friends. It wasnt packed thank gawd on a Friday night so we didn't have to wait in line. Place had great atmosphere and nice aesthetics. Staff was friendly overall a 5/5
There nachos are yummy as well as the chimichangas! They're a large helping! Atmosphere is great. Only downside is very little parking but I will be back
Excellent service. Excellent meal. Never disappoint. Wide range of appetizers and entrees. Too many good dishes, I can never decide what I want. We always go there for special occasions. Birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, etc.
The server didn't take us seriously when I requested to make sure the nachos we ordered were at least half with no cheese. She scoffed at me and said that of course it will only be on half. When we received our shared nachos they were pretty much completely covered in cheese and I was left to pick at the bare chips around the edge of my side of the plate. Our server never checked on us at all. We were talking about the quality of food/service as she cleared a table next to us. The bartender must have been alerted of mine and my friend's conversation about how mediocre everything was, because he came by asking if everything was ok. I brought up the situation and that I couldn't enjoy a single chip that had beans on it because it was covered in cheese. He attempted to mansplain to me the science of how cheese expands over the entire body of an item while heated, however I mansplained back to him that I wasn't always vegan and I know how to make a dish work without cross-contaminating the whole thing. He brought me out a side of beans so that I could at least try to enjoy the few chips that we tipped them more than the average Manitoban does on.
Tough one for me, because how to rate? Good to great mexican food for Winnipeg....but fai to average when compared to same style restaurant from any larger USA city. Let's be honest....Canada just does do Mexican that well. Good service and reasonable prices.
Fairly happy with the experience! Unique. Would recommend. The food was HOT! Took a bit to find the entrance. It's not off the main st there. It's a little side alley from the south side of the building.
I like this place in the summer. Go here for their rice plates, chimichangas, or just for a beer and pub fare. Wouldn't recommend the wings and of course there's better mexican in the city, but the pub vibe and patio access in the summer + its location makes it a place to go
Always great food and good service. Actually scratch that, when I went with my boyfriend and friend we had the most amazing server - he was attentive, informed and very personable. Definitely going back... again...
They have a good location and decent beer list. Maybe if you're already drinking you won't notice how lame the food is. (A mostly-vegetarian dining companion whose diet is 50% soylent thought it was really good - make of that what you will.) Cocktails aren't great, and their sangria tastes like vinaigrette.
Service was mediocre at best, bartender was a real a**, I never write reviews about anything and generally get annoyed when people complain but couldn't believe the "customer service" at this establishment unfu**in real
Used to be 5 stars until they changed their guacamole. They may say it's the same recipe but I've been going there for over 10 years and its not the same. Used to be amazing, and regardless of what the owner says it has changed. Bring back the good stuff! Dont go there as much now because of this. Used to go all the time and get a big bowl of it. There food is great but this one thing is a gamechanger. Having said that, it's a Great atmosphere and the authentic items are amazing.
Good little spot to stop in the Osborne district. This district is cool but there are a few empty buildings. There are however some cool spots to eat.
The patio at C&M s is nice and shaded, serving staff were sweet. Wasn t overly impressed with the menu and the diversity of the fare, but it hit the spot and was made well. Have a half-order of the Queso dip with whatever you order!
Awesome place to visit for nachos and wings! Bartendener makes great ceasers- & I'm not a ceaser drinker! Vanessa is an amazing waitress! Friendly and always made sure we had full drinks! Bonus they also have wicked weekly deals!
