I've been coming here for years. Carlos and Murphys is a bit of a local hangout spot with some pretty good nachos and decent wings. The happy hour deals are great and I really like the selection of beer. Overall it's am awesome, laid back place to just hang out with friends over a drink and some appetizers.

Went there last week, I bought the "Murphys wings" which were described as BBQ. The dressing on the wings was not BBQ it was very wet pasta sauce tasted exactly like pasta sauce. I was with a group of 8 and they tried the sauce and agreed it tasted exactly like pasta sauce. I asked to change the wings and they refused.they also charged me for the wings although only had 2 out of the 10 wings. The manager did not try to help either, customer service here is not great, they only care about their money.
Pretty disgusting experience. Poor service to start with, chicken wings just tossed in cheap spicy sauce and that's the best part of the meal. The rest was horrible. The list is too long but we stopped eating because we got nausea (for sure nothing is fresh or made frim scratch) and the smell of the meat just cut our appetite. Taco bell is a gourmet place in comparison. I would recommend though... if you like a good diarrhea.
Best Mexican food! Service is always great. Its hit and miss during weekend evenings.. Sometimes it's very busy but waiting time isn't that long. It's a small dining room so if its busy it's very loud and hard to have a conversation. Highly recommended!
Second time coming here, thought I'd give it a second chance because hey... everyone has an off day. But nope, unfortunately the only consistency here was low quality. Bland food, bland server, we won't be back.
When we sit down in our table a blond and tall guy call qutin just came and trow the menus at the table really disrespectful and mad so we decided to go to the other side and order .and he came back and brought the food in the same way . The food was good the drinks and the place is nice but I m just disappointed that kind a piece is a server in a public place
Great Chili fries - love the ground pastiness of the chili. Nice partially hidden side patio for drinks. Snagged some free parking in the back for a pick up. One thing is for sure, they have that authentic Mexican punch you in the face smell as soon as you walk in.
I did not enjoy the food. Wings were on special but when they came they were cold, refrigeration cold, and inundated with a soup-like sauce that totally lacked any flavour or piquancy. They should have been accompanied by a large bowl of hot water, some soap, a face cloth and a thick towel for everyone who ate even one bite. The nacho plate, their name specialty, was average, at best. For the price, $17.75 cdn, I expected something more than haphazard tortilla chips (were they even corn?) smothered in white cheese and sprinkled with jalapenos. The wasps on their outdoor patio were more than a nuisance. At least give customers something to defend themselves with! The whole restaurant, decor and staff and washrooms have that laissez-faire feel that often accompanies poor management.
The beef on my nachoes was so dry it could be cracked in half like a cracker. Rice was dry. Waitress was really fast with drinks. Won't catch me back there.
Good food. Great staff! Location sucks parking is horrible. The atmosphere is fun but it can get very noisy at times. Wait times are very long at peak hours. The food is tasty and the portions are generous.
Yeah, their beer/nachos/wings are fine (how do you screw those up?), but the rest of the food is INSANELY overpriced, and beyond terrible. I had the 3 taco meal ($20). The shells were moist and fell apart instantly... I think they put the whole plate in the oven... And the filing was so utterly bland it seriously tastes like nothing. I ordered salsa just to dump on my entire plate. Rice was bland, refried beans, bland. I haven't been in years because the last time I went it was, guess what, terrible... But I see nothing has changed. Stop gouging people because you're in a high traffic location. Seriously, burrito del rio is 1000x better than this place at half the cost.
Service was good and fast. Food was so bland, seriously flavorless and way to expensive. I paid 18.95 for a plate of refried beans covered in shredded lettuce, a few pieces of tomato, and a sprinkle of cheese (tacos). I can't justify eating here again for the price and quality of food... pretty pathetic.
I've been coming to Carlos and Murphy's for years, and the food and atmosphere have remained their same great self to this day. Definitely a good choice for a night out.
Go to spot for nachos! Super cool environment, love sitting by the window and people watching or sitting on the patio when the weather is nice. Always had great service, and they are super accommodating for my boyfriend's tomato allergy.
Great place! Love their wing specials. Not the biggest wings, but I'm a big fan of lemon pepper seasoning so you can't go wrong. I also tried the pulled pork tacos. Delicious! I got their Murphy sauce on the side to add into the tacos and was amazing! Happy hour prices make it a great place to go with friends before a show.
Ordered wings and nachos. The wings were small and dry (probably day old). The nachos were nothing special, very light on cheese and other toppings. It wasn't very busy but was early on a Tuesday evening. Probably using up the leftovers from the weekend
Great place! Every time we ve come here, we ve had great service and wicked delicious food! You gotta try their Nachos Oaxaca (so?) .... the best nachos in the whole dang city!!
Absolutely fantastic, with some of the best chicken wings anywhere in Manitoba. The service is excellent as well. In terms of a workplace, I've heard that it's excellent for a job, being a healthy, safe environment as well (I don't work here, that's just what I've heard). One of Winnipeg's most famous bars with a healthy selection of non-alcoholic options for younger people.
I've been going here for over 20 years, and plan on going here for at least 20 more. The environment is perfect - dark and quiet dining area, bustling lounge and two patios in the summer with just the right amount of shade. I can't remember a time I've gone there and not enjoyed a plate of gold wings along with whatever else I ended up sharing with half the table. The staff have been there forever and rarely if ever screw up. It's quintessential Osborne village, and goes to show that it's more than a ten cent wing that needs to go into making a place you want to come back to.
