Definitely worth a look if you're in the area. You don't see a huge amount of the cave network on the cathedral cave tour which is approx 45 minutes but you do get to hear a bay colony and shuffle your way through a narrow zigzagged section which was fun. The tour guide is entertaining to add to the experience. It's a dry cave so very little water here.

We had a great personal tour since we were the only ones at the time - the guide was very funny and knowledgeable.
The cathedral cave is amazing, especially the sound and darkness experience. Great short thing to do when driving by, takes only approx. 1-1.5 hours.

Our guide, Emily, was great. Our family of five that included teenagers and an eight year old thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We have been on the road from Victoria for the last week and Capricorn Caves has been the unexpected highlight of the trip so far. We all highly recommend going to check them out!

A very pleasant 2 night stay at the Caves. Cabin had everything we needed, was super clean and very well equipped. (Thanks for the welcome basket!) The cave tour is a must and our guide, Christiaan, led a very informative and entertaining hike through the caves. The kids loved it. Highly recommended and we will definitely visit again.

Interesting to see, enough time to make phots, knowledgeble guide. unique cave.
But the cabin we hired there was absolutely top of the range, so clean, well equipped kitchen and only 60 m from the reception to cave entrance.

Caves were quite cool, but also had a good story about the family who discovered them and how they named each section. Wheelchair access to some parts. One section is even available for weddings or opera.

It was a fun experience, I took the cathedral tour. The guides were very informative & passionate. The killer of the experience were young children... Why bring a 4 year old on the cave tour, they have no appreciation for it nor will understand anything. Value for money, it was a bit pricey just to go into a chruch area formed inside the cave (the church is above ground), but it's the experience & it is also a privately owned organisation, so it's understandable.

As a family of 4 we all enjoyed this experience. Children aged 15 years and 2 years of age. The tour guide was informative and considerate to the needs of the group we were with. We booked online, direct through their website and found the process simple and easy to understand. The service at start were great and afterwards in the gift shop were friendly and helpful. I would actually love to go back and complete the other tour options in the future but was limited due to our 2 year old only being able to complete the walk.

Very interesting cave. A curator explains a lot of things and treat you like kids :P. I had a short 1 hour trip which seems pretty good choice. I am not sure what else is there with longer 2- 3 hour tours.

Tour of the caves is wonderful. They are beautiful to look at. He was very friendly and knowledgeable, mainly because he was not just some hired guy but a cave explorer himself who continuously explores this cave system further.

A great tour and a good place to go on a hot day - 20 degrees Celsius in the caves! The tour is informative, with history, geology and botany, and includes a demonstration of the great acoustics of the "Cathedral Cave", and exiting through a very narrow cave tunnel and then across some swinging bridges (both optional, there's an alternative exit that's more accessible).

Great stop if you're driving up to Airlie Beach or beyond.

Caves are nice and good to get away from the heat outside. Best to do the adventure tour and cheap in comparison to other attractions.
Camping ground is quite good amenities. Hard to find an even spot.

Quiet caravan and camping off main roads, powered and unpowered sites, wood fire pits stocked with some wood daily by staff, clean new amenities, good overnight stop and the guided cave tour is excellent.

This was an enjoyable experience. Our tour guide was very informative and seemed very knowledgeable about all questions asked and in explaining the places and stories as the tour progressed. Even our young children enjoyed the cave experience and we're thinking of coming back here to do another adventure tour with the kids again.

If you are traveling through or stopping off at Rocky you have to go to the Limestone Caves they are incredible. Guided walks through the cave system, they are very informative and friendly. The highlight is when you reach the cathedral the natural acoustics is amazing.

About Capricorn Caves

Capricorn Caves - Exploring the Wonders of Nature

Capricorn Caves is a unique tourist destination located in the north of Rockhampton, Queensland. The caves are a spectacular system of above-ground caves that have been formed over millions of years in a limestone ridge. The Capricorn Caves offer visitors an opportunity to explore and experience the wonders of nature.

The Capricorn Caves are home to some of the most stunning natural formations in Australia. Visitors can marvel at stalactites, stalagmites, flowstones, and other incredible rock formations that have been created by water dripping through limestone over thousands of years. The caves also feature underground streams and pools that add to their beauty.

One thing that sets Capricorn Caves apart from other cave systems is its accessibility. Unlike many underground cave systems, visitors do not need to be physically fit or experienced cavers to explore these caves. The majority of the cave system is above ground and easily accessible via well-maintained walkways.

Visitors can choose from several guided tours offered by Capricorn Caves depending on their interests and fitness levels. For those who want an easy stroll through the caves, there's a 45-minute tour called Cathedral Cave Tour which takes you through some magnificent chambers with impressive acoustics where concerts are held regularly throughout the year.

For those who want more adventure, there's an Adventure Tour which takes you deeper into the cave system where you'll crawl through narrow passages and climb up steep inclines before emerging into vast caverns filled with awe-inspiring rock formations.

If you're looking for something truly unique, then consider taking part in one of Capricorn Cave's special events such as their Underground Opera or Christmas Carols Concerts held annually during December.

Aside from exploring the caves themselves, there are plenty more activities available at Capricorn Caves for visitors to enjoy including abseiling down cliffs overlooking picturesque landscapes or taking part in guided bushwalks around nearby national parks where wildlife such as kangaroos and wallabies can be spotted along with rare bird species like black cockatoos or wedge-tailed eagles soaring overhead!

Capricorn Caves also offers accommodation options for those who want to stay overnight within walking distance from this natural wonderland! There are several types available including cabins nestled amongst trees offering privacy while still being close enough so guests can hear sounds emanating from inside these ancient caverns!

In conclusion, if you're looking for an unforgettable experience exploring one-of-a-kind natural wonders then look no further than Capricorn Caves! With its accessibility combined with breathtaking scenery both above ground as well as below it makes this destination perfect for all ages whether they're seasoned adventurers or first-time explorers!
