I didn't know what to expect when booking since the reviews were mixed but overall I had a pleasant experience. Beginning with reservations, I contacted the hotel in advance of my trip and had spoken with Priscilla Benner regarding the rates that I had seen online not comparing with what I was quoted. Without any hesitation she adjusted my rate for two nights. There is an option to add breakfast to your reservation but I opted not to include it.

Upon arrival, the staff was very friendly and I didn't have any issues with the room itself. It was clean and it had what I needed for two nights. Sure it could have used a few updates but I was rarely in my room during my trip to even notice. I also had a great view of the Capitol Building.

The hotel is very close to major attractions. There weren't a lot of food options in the immediate area but with a 10-15 minute walk or drive you can access other options nearby.

The hotel also offers a free shuttle during the week and on Saturdays. This is drop off only but really comes in handy to save on Uber/Lyft or other transportation related costs.

I would recommend this hotel if you are seeking a budget friendly option that isn't too far from the major museums and National Mall. Comparable options with similar rates that I had originally considered were 40-45 minutes away.

The hotel seems a bit older, but the manager and employees are incredibly professional and courteous. The rooms were recently renovated, I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a reasonable place to stay in the D.C. area

AC broken in first room. Moved to another room. Pulled back the bed sheets and there was a blood stain and what looked like a used tissue. Save your money go somewhere else. Very unhappy with rude person at check in also. we did get breakfast coupons. Still not worth it. We didn't see on the website where it's like $30-35 a DAY to park and then the asked for a card to put a $100 hold on just incase we brake something. I have had other places keep my card but not put a hold on it. Over all its falling apart, full of rude people, and in desperate need of new management.

The location is okay. They have ample parking in parking garage. The entrance is okay to get to if you're coming off of 695 to the the South Capitol Street exit. I've never stayed in the room there. I've been through a event and picked up a couple of people there. I drive Lyft so I've stopped in a couple of times before. It's a nice hotel. They do host events. Everyone has been happy with what they intended. Nice interior at the lobby area and at the pool..

Disappointing. This hotel doesn t offer any good amenities. The pool was closed when we were there, and this was before Covid, and when it was warm outside. It didn t have a nice restaurant for dinner either, or any in room service. The location was the best thing, since it was located close to the main DC attractions, and the room was quite comfortable.

The hotel is a 15-minute walk from the Capitol. There are also restaurants within walking distance (which you must look for yourself).
Front desk staff were not really friendly.
Were easily lost.
If you asked for information, it usually meant that you had to sort it out yourself.
They have a restaurant that would be open until 10 pm, so that is not true. they have a restaurant where you can have breakfast and lunch (pay in advance), but you have to dine in the bar. There is no cosiness here and the bartender was as unfriendly as anything.
The hotel is also 50 km from Dulles and you have to go to the hotel on your own and you also have to arrange your own transport back to the airport. This is not provided by the hotel, so there is no shuttle service. You can take a taxi, Uber, Super shuttle
or bus to and from the airport.

a really bad location. the room was great, big and clean. a good shower. the employees were okay, but not as gracious as there were at other hotel across the country. location is bad. not near the main tourist attractions (I.E the mall, memorials, capitol hill..) and not near a direct public transportation to lead to those places. plus, i dont know if its a coincidence or reflection of the area but we were attacked by rawly teens on the street. do no

Clean rooms and within walking distance to restaurants.. did not have a microwave or mini fridge in room, lacked water pressure in the shower, and breakfast was not included in the price of the room.

The rooms are nice, the bed is comfy and the shower facilities are decent. Don't let the outside look of the hotel fool you as it does look old but inside is very modern and clean! Good location within a 5 to 10 minutes to a Metro station that will allow you to explore D.C and check out the landmarks freely.

Decently located hotel for those looking to stay in either the newer Yards area or needing decent access to the Capitol area. Little noise despite the nearby freeway. During the week, there's a shuttle to get you to the Mall area, but there is also a Metro stop within walking distance. Our weekend rate made this a very economical place to stay.

Amazing People working here, really nice. They let us park our car there (for an extra fee of 30 something dollars) but they let us park it there until 5:00pm after we've checked out, which is nice for Washington DC parking.

Rooms are great! Recently updated, clean, and good furniture. Lobby is beautiful and useful as well. Exterior of hotel looks a bit worn down, but not bad. Pool is beautiful. Neighborhood is on the rise. So.e blocks look not great, but really good food/bars close by, as is Nationals stadium and capitol hill. Great price on room, too. All things considered, this is a great find!

We felt very safe and secure at this Washington DC hotel. They have a great shuttle service that takes you to just about all the D.C. Sites! Outdoor pool was very refreshing after a long hot day of touring. The most amazing breakfast buffet we have had in a long time.

They even had a small business center where we could continue to fill orders while we were away, and there was a Postal Office 2 blocks away, which really made our visit possible. We really enjoyed our 10 day stay and would absolutely LOVE to be able to visit again someday. Thank you so much, we truly are grateful...

Clean, nice view and good food. Funny lights in restaurant, they look like 5 year olds made them in kindergarten. If you have left overs they have refrigerators in the rooms but if you need to warm up your food you have to take a trip to the basement where the microwave is, down by the parking garage. I

THE MANAGEMENT HERE ARE EXTREMELY RUDE! PLEASE STAY AWAY!

Spoke with the Office Manager, Denise, today to inquire about this hotel and she was extremely rude, short, disrespectful, and unwilling to answer questions. The customer service at this hotel is horrible. I was getting ready to make a reservation until my encounter with this person and it was definitely a red flag!

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!

The worst hotel ever. The hotel relocated me without contacting me before doing it stating a water leak was in the room. However, they had already placed a guess in the room and charged as if I stayed there.

Hotel with excellent value for money.

Hotel with excellent value for money.
Rather well done rooms, with a suite (office, bedroom, dressing room, bathroom) per floor.

A little far from the center nevertheless.

I would love to be able to give a better review to this hotel but an hour before we were supposed to check in we received an email informing us that due to maintenance issues our room we would have to stay at a different hotel. Not only were we barely given any notice but this new hotel was in Maryland, and in that lovely DC traffic it was over an hour and a half drive from DC to the new hotel. The whole point of staying at Capitol Skyline was to be close to the Mall and avoid as much driving as possible. Staff at our new hotel made it sound as though these maintenance problems were just a fancy way of saying we overbooked our hotel and now you have to pay the price for it. We had also called and requested several months prior to our stay to request an additional night at the Capitol Skyline, and we were told this was taken care of. Of course once we got to DC we also discovered that this had never been changed and we were only booked for one night. Several phone calls later and we have received no response from Capitol Skyline. So thank you Capitol Skyline for ruining what was supposed to be a nice trip!

The location was great, we could easily walk to the capitol. A couple blocks to the east are some bikes to rent as well. The staff was friendly but the room was a bit outdated. We had a small leakage in the bathroom ceiling.
The pool wasn't open yet when we were here in April, even though it was 28C degrees already!

Every hotel I've ever been to, you are able to check in early. Here? Nope! Funny thing is, one employee is ready to check me in and the other comes in and says that they have no rooms available. I have a crying baby and I'm from out of town, been driving all night and you can't find me one available room an hour before 3? How is that? It's 2pm and the way they said it, you could obviously tell they were lying. I won't be staying here again! Not worth it to have to wait around.
Also, there was a cockroach in the lobby. Definitely off-putting.

The room is great and the bed was comfortable. The service is really great and the breakfast was great and not too expensive. I would come again without any problem! The location is not too far from the attractions and museum. It took 15 minutes on car or 30 minutes of walk to go to the Capitol.

Had to cancel due to COVID-19, Washington DC made an order to not travel. All reservations cancelled on us, which we understand. Reservations were for the middle of June. We attempted numerous times to get someone on the line, but even as early as today, no one picks up the phone... it rang for over 6 min today. We have 2 emails that are lengthy, both without replies since beginning of June.
Orbitz says they have only given credit back to same hotel over $600 dollars which has to be used by early July next year or we lose it! No plans to go back to DC, but more alarming is with this kind of customer service, why would I want to go there? They are stealing people s money during this Pandemic!!
DO NOT GO THERE!

Sub par to say the least. One side's view is the National's stadium, the other is a half assed view of the capitol building. My room smelled sour. The window was broken. The internet is free, but 1994 AOL dial up slow, but you can pay for upgraded broadband. The restaurant is a joke, basically an upscale Denny's.

It's tough to rate the hotel when it is being renovated, because it is inconvenient by nature. The paint smell was strong and throughout the building.

The rooms are nice but simple, but the air conditioning did not work well. The room was unbearably warm. The room did nit have some basic amenities like an ice bucket or a hair dryer.

The work out are was run down and the equipment was not well maintained.

The staff was courteous and polite.

My stay at the hotel was only for one night but it was ok. Place is clean, has a nice pool. This time I was on the 3rd floor so the view was trees. Last time I stayed on the 6th floor and I could see the Capital building.
