Capital Skyline Hotel Review

Very nice hotel and great location, walkable to downtown dc

The hotel is close to the metra so there was no need for us to rent a car. There is also a free shuttle that runs in the morning with drop offs at points of interest around the mall. The room, hotel, and common areas were all updated and modern. The beds were comfortable and all facilities were clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. The location was close to all the attractions, metra, ball park, and places to eat. We would recommend it and stay there again.

Its okay for very cheap rooms and convenient loction

We booked a king bed room, and it was fine. The hotel seems a little dated, with old-ish elevators and bland hallway. Lobby area and the room was modern and pleasant though. Service was good, though parking garage is dimly lit and had random construction debris when we arrived.

Neighborhood note so great. Rates are awesome. Hotel in great shape. Very close to metro and a new Shane Shack

Noise rooms, hall way noises sound like you have the door open. Food is good and the staff isfriendly

It was okay the breakfast was not that great and there wasn't many options to pick from the bacon was so salty but the guy charging for the breakfast was quite nice, it was about 15 dollars per person to eat at breakfast. The pool was great and so was the food they sold and the guys attending us where really nice, the room was alright the bed was quite comfortable but it did not have a microwave or a fridge, the microwave was in the basement and the fridge you had to pay for to have one in your room, we had aked them to put one in our room and they said they didn't have any available at the moment and that they would bring one as soon as they became available, we saw many people check out and 3 days later we still hadn't received a fridge, we had to get ice in a bucket for us to put our drinks in to keep them cold. Overall the experience was alright but we will be going to a different hotel next time.

It's okay. Not the greatest buthing you get what you pay for.

The rooms are presented nicely. The walls are too thin though and there is no phone in the room. Altogether it's pretty good.

Everything about this hotel has met or surpassed my expectations. The staff have been very helpful and friendly, and they have worked hard to meet the needs of my professional group. I have no complaints.

Good hotel bathroom somewhat small but otherwise very good

Went to a social event at the Skyline Hotel and had a great night. There was great food and lots good drinks.

The hotel staff make this trendy retro vibe hotel a great place to stay for business travel. A decent bar with happy hour, a bar tender that actually likes his job, front desk and hotel manager that are a class act in customer service. And the capital view at night is stunning!!

Checked in only to find that our hall where our room was smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke. In a non smoking hotel! Smell never dissipated. Hotel staff tired to alleviate issue to no avail. I dont know what hotel could do but they have to monitor better.

Parked there to stay at a different hotel. Parking was fine, though they did close and lock the garage, so I don't think you can always get covered parking. Hotel looks better than it did 10 years ago, but still wouldn't be my pick to stay overnight.

Nice convenient hotel. Very clean! But my room had a funny smell. That was my only complaint, besides that I would definitely come back here.

Nice hotel, clean, friendly/helpful staff and great location. Garage parking is expensive $35-40 but plenty of street parking around, just be ready to feed meter during the day.

A last minute decision to stay in DC led me and my buddy here and it was great. Easy to book, super friendly staff, and great accommodations. The guy behind the desk knew about he local sports culture and we were able to have a good conversation and learn a bit while checking in. My few complaints are that for some reason no local channels were available so we couldn't watch DC United lose to the Red Bulls, some places looked unfinished and rough, and the parking is super difficult to access astride a motorcycle. Next away game, we will look to stay here again!

I love this hotel, it's been in Washington DC for a very long time it host a lot of events, I've been to a few pool parties and a few other events at the Capitol Skyline Hotel.The rooms are very nice and the staff and service is very good this hotel is,I would say very underrated most people probably don't know about the great services that they offer in this hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any of my out-of-town friends coming into Washington DC. Keep up the good work-----@amphunter29

They gave us the wrong type room. We reserved one king with a view. We got two beds that looked out onto a roof. There was a used soap in the shower. The towels feel like you're drying with a cactus. The Wi-Fi is ridiculously slow. And housekeeping tried to come in the room at 8:45 on the day of checkout. I was far from impressed, won't be returning, and wouldn't recommend. Also, it's pretty close to metro stops, but not in the best neighborhood.

Crawling on my skin, these bedbugs made me a meal. Barely slept a wink. Gross is is how i feel.

Pleasantly surprised. Wasn't expecting much because it was inexpensive and old but it turned out to be a great location and a great view with comfy bed.

Parking is a bit expensive, but you can usually find a place on the street.

Did not inform about the paid parking. Paid 40$ for parking at the hotel. Rooms were ok. The reception had a ready answer saying it says on the website that you need to pay for parking. I do not think that it is fair customer service. No body has the time to look into every detail. The hotel receptionist should have told on the phone when booking the room.

Great 1960 style hotel with wonderful staff and comfortable clean room. Also the pool is the largest hotel pool I've ever seen! We love the shuttle that took us to the beginning point of our sightseeing each day!

The rooms are nice and the hotel is nice just not super clean and the hallway smells funny.

Worst experience at a hotel. They charged my twice and would not refund my money.

Friendly staff. Clean rooms with comfortable beds and ample space. We were able to see the Capitol from our window on the 4th floor, and it was beautifully lit at night. Huge parking garage, easy entry amd exit, and close to the National Mall.

Used parking here to attend Nats game. Totally disorganized. And a long walk to boot.

This is an official isolation facility for covid-19 patients and high risk people. Nice staff, necessities are provided, stay in room at all times. Very comfortable.

Had an amazing experience at this hotel. Super friendly, professional staff, immaculate room, fabulous pool area, great food and drinks. General Manager, Jeff Ragonese, couldn't have been more accomodating. Highly recommend!

Hotel was sub-par. Customer service is terrible, I initially wasn't refunded my whole deposit because they claimed I didn't pay for parking, which I did in cash upon my check in. They refunded the charges only to withdraw the parking fee again a day later. No one seemed to care to help fix the problem. Oh they have a nice pool...

Went to Captiol Skyline Hotel for parking for the Nationals game. Cheapest parking I could find at a reasonable distance.

Was in the hotel years ago. It was clean with big rooms. Location for the city exploration was good.

This hotel provides spacious, clean rooms at a competitive price. The rooms provide fabulous views (to the north) and the facility is a close, easy walk to the Capitol building. Underground parking is available for $30 per night. There is no continental breakfast. Breakfast costs $14 per person.

great for sunday pool parties, notice: it is right after babies swim class

This hotel and pool are so ill-managed, that we cancelled our family membership within the 2nd time visiting the pool. The kitchen had to close for 2 hours, because their staff did not show up, they lack security to handle the out of control guests that stay at the hotel, and the poolside service is so grossly understaffed that you never get to place an order poolside and if you are lucky enough to do so, you get someone else s order IF they remember to put the order in at all. Save your money and go somewhere where they will treat their members with respect and not let rude neighbors in the pool area cause for you to leave in the middle of your children eating lunch. Stay away!!!

Great place for a quick and quiet stay on a winter's night

Had wait till 3pm to check in to our room.. so we went to the museum. .. came back @ 4pm and the room was ridiculous hot... ac wasn't working. . Made our night miserable

Newly renovated hotel. Nice cheap option for staying in the capital.

We loved our stay here. Close walk to many historical sites. Great view. We took these pics from our room. This is an older hotel and we stayed with a group.
But, really nice and great staff.

Hotel needs to be updated. I found a dead bug in the shower.

Roach in the room. The entire hotel was freezing. They put space heaters in the bar and conference room. It was still freezing.

Beautiful hotel especially from 7th floor with Capital view. Wifi is slow and inconsistent though.

Perfect location to Capitol Hill side of the mall. 10 mins will take you to the hill and nearest metro. Rooms clean, spacious and free WiFi. Nationals stadium round the corner. Would definitely use again

Pricey, checkin is at 3 pm and check out is at 11 am, it is not even a day. But it is at good location, excellent hotel
