This establishment has potential, but has no one to take proper care of it. Yesterday my family and I see the pool manager allow a guest try to illegally sneak friends and family members into the pool area and then when they got caught turned her attention to the family next to her that she not only stole their umbrella, but apparently lied to the poolside staff that he and a security personnel came up to the the family with 2 kids whom were eating lunch and minding their own business and let one of the friends she did smuggle in threaten the dad and we promptly left never to come back again. By the way, the management is poor that staff quote of do not show up and they are unable to handle orders, requests for service, and cannot enforce their own rules with guests who blatantly abuse the rules.

Fun times for the weekend pool party :) They could really improve the food situation though. I understand that people go to drink, dance, and swim but an improved food menu would be great too. Overall a pretty fun way to spend a Sunday.

The rooms were overly dark. There was only one light in the bathroom. The air conditioner would cycle on and off every minute or so, it sounded as if a jet engine had ignited each time it went off. The buffet breakfast (not included in the room rate) was subpar and some of the cereal food dispensers were not working properly. The gift shop is a joke, never had any newspapers (not to mention that the hotel does not provide any to guests). The desk clerks have large chips on their shoulders, don't want to be bothered too much with questions from guests. We stayed three nights (Mon-Wed) and the worst aspect was that the hotel advertised a rate on line (in my case $189 per night), when I received the bill, I was told that rate was only for the first night (Tuesday and Wednesday were $259 per night) - read the fine print before you book (I don't recommend that you do). This hotel is a dump, avoid it like the plague.

Staff have been very nice and helpful when I definitely needed help! The AC in my room is pretty loud but you get used to it. It's located downtown right in the middle of a lot of fun places. Parking is expensive so we parked on the street without a problem.

Robert in Sales was incredibly helpful. An alumni group from Stoneman Douglas in Parkland was interested in group rates for the March of Our Lives weekend and I spoke to Robert and he was incredibly helpful in gathering information and provided a very reasonable rate.

I was told at the desk that for 1 night for a standard double room was $99 plus $30 for parking and $25 returnable fee so $154 plus tax would be on my card. Instead I get charged $343 then 4 days later another charge of $35 comes out almost $400 for a room only worth $99. I've called and left messages for the hotel manager to call me or the account manager neither has called and it's now the 28th. My advice is not to stay at this hotel they will rip you off....

It's decent. Nice room, but kinda away from everything major in Washington. Was also missing several amenities in the room. Orange something on the bathroom floor. Bed was comfy and clean though.

The Capitol Skyline Hotel has served as the venue for our organization's monthly luncheon meetings since the spring of 2014. The hospitality, attention to detail, plated luncheon food selections, service and staff is outstanding! We highly recommend the CSH for your organization's event, meeting, weekend away in the District of Columbia or to stay nearby when your team (or ours) is playing at nearby Nat's Park.

Beware. This is advertised as being "10 minutes away" from the Capitol. Don't be fooled. If you decide to walk it will take you 20-30 minutes. You're an hour away from the memorials. It's been 12 business days since check out and I still have not gotten my 100 credit card hold returned to my card. That was a surprise. No hairdryer. Dated rooms. Front desk service is NOT GOOD AT ALL. They don't explain anything at all and look at you like you're dumb. Breakfast is not included. Should have stayed elsewhere.

Wonderfully accommodating staff. Very good breakfast with great coffee at additional cost..Shuttle van, Good Bar. Good location. Clean rooms. The neighborhood is on the upswing, with new apartments being built which will bring restaurants, eventually. One of the much better value hotels I ve stayed at.

Very Not Thrilled. I could hear the people next door clearly until they went to sleep at 2am thanks to the lack of sound-proofing between the doors that separated our rooms. the bill for $41 for parking in a lot, which I was not informed until check out, that was supposed to be locked at 10pm would have been cheaper if I had parked across the street. People who worked there did not seem to know what was going on in or around the hotel.

It's not a great looking hotel from the outside, but inside is lovely and must have recently undergone a renovation. The pool area was spacious and well-laid out. The landscaping around the deck definitely caught my eye. I was worried to see my room was next to the elevator, but didn't hear a sound from the hall the entire time I was there, even at night. Beds are super comfy. Rooms are a bit small but not too bad. AC was working really well, though, which is so important in DC in June. And, it's a quick and easy cab ride away from National Airport.

Cons:
No bell hop.
No full length mirror in the room.
No check-in before 4--they state this on their site and when you arrive, but there appears to be zero flexibility on this. Which is even more frustrating when at 4, 4:15 and 4:20 they still won't check people in--not to mention the time it took to check in lines and lines of (anxious) people.
Immediate neighborhood lacks amenities.

Pretty run down. No coffee maker or refrigerator in the rooms. Only one ice machine and it's in the basement. Our room smelled pretty bad. Beds are small (full size, not queen size.) Breakfast buffet cost 11.99 and it was very limited. The desk staff was nice, but housekeeping was cranky.

Stopped by today to check out this hotel to see if I felt comfortable recommending it to friends coming to visit in DC. What a pleasant surprise. It is charming, immaculate, reasonable and with many amenities to recommend it such as full breakfast every morning included , free shuttle to many places in DC, awesome pool, workout room, interesting art throughout this well designed botique hotel. I will be recommending Capital Skyline to all my friends!
