I don t normally write scathing online reviews, but this one takes the cake. Whirlpool used a company called Toronto Appliances Service . Since it s difficult to delineate which company is responsible for certain mistakes, I will simply outline my bad experiences. Overall, there were five things they did which were very costly to me and annoying:

1. I called Whirlpool Canada when my washing machine leaked. The Whirlpool rep said he d send over a repairman to diagnose the problem (and quoted me the associated fees). The Whirlpool rep also told me I would be called and told a more specific time about when the repairman would arrive. This did not happen. Instead, a Toronto Appliances Service repairman arrived without advance notice AND, furthermore, I was billed for the time he waited for me to arrange entry into my home.

2. The Toronto Appliances Service repairman (who in fairness I acknowledge came across as both professional and pleasant) diagnosed the problem as a leaky bellow . He also informed me in writing that the pump worked fine (this becomes relevant later). He quoted me about $457.65 to fix the washing machine. I agreed. The repairman installed a replacement bellow a couple weeks later and said he tested the machine and it worked fine. I accordingly paid him that money and he left my home. That same day, and the *VERY FIRST TIME* I used the washing machine after paying, the washing machine filled with water and shut off. I could not even remove my clothes. Toronto Appliances Services returned, and this time diagnosed several problems, including a faulty pump (which recall had been been diagnosed as working fine ). The revised repair cost far exceeded the cost of the washing machine. When I complained to Toronto Appliances Services about the $457.65 bill, I was told to take it up with Whirlpool Canada.

I called Whirlpool Canada and spoke with a manger, who offered 1) to sell me a replacement Whirlpool washing machine at a wholesale rate, and 2) to refund half of the $457.65 bill. I thought this sounded like a fair compromise, so I accepted. If Whirlpool had delivered on this offer, I would have left a satisfied and repeat Whirlpool customer. Instead, they did not deliver on either component of this offer. Here s what happened:

Re the wholesale rate: Upon being transferred to the person assigned to provide me with a washer at a wholesale rate, I was informed that none of the available Whirlpool washers were compatible with my dryer (I live in a condo where space considerations require a washing machine to be stacked below the dryer using what is known as a stacking kit ). Apparently the current Whirlpool stacking kits are all completely incompatible with what is just a three year old Whirlpool model. There are no adapters. In my view, either Whirlpool has made a deliberate business decision that everyone with an irreparable stackable washer or dryer will have to replace BOTH, or they simply don t care enough about their customers to investigate or design a solution. Either way, the Whirlpool customer ends up having to pay twice as much (and the impact on our landfills are twice as much too).

4. Re the cheque: Recall the manager promised to mail me a cheque refunding half the amount I paid ($228.82). That promise was on April 19, 2016. The words used by one Whirlpool rep that day were, I can see on my system the cheque is already in the mail . Today is June 2, 2016, and I still have not received the cheque.

5. I called Whirlpool a couple weeks ago to inquire about the cheque. The person I spoke to was unapologetic, and even had the audacity to say that the Whirlpool rep who I had spoken to on April 19 was accurate when she said the cheque was already in the mail , because what that phrase really means is that a process (internal to Whirlpool to send me the cheque) had been initiated. This rep denied my request to be transferred to a manager, and basically said I needed to wait longer.

By far everything I thought I knew about their app...

By far everything I thought I knew about their appliances has let me down. If you want to wait on hold for 50 minutes to talk to someone , this is the place. I just bought 7 maytag appliances only 2 years ago and microwave and fridge are already acting up. No recourse except pay for a service call plus fixing. As a senior it was a huge purchase and I now have to get out more cash.
If I could have given this company a zero I would have. Totally a let down.

We bought a Whirlpool stove and a fridge from Leon s about a year and a half ago.
Right off the bat, the fridge didn t cool anything - lost some food. After much angst, phone calls and waiting a long time for a response from anyone, a second fridge was sent. This one also didn t work.
They did come and fix that under warranty (thank you) and it has worked thus far.
The range crapped out just outside warranty - we couldn t get the front burner to shut off, thus making it very dangerous to use.
After contacting them, they offered to make it right. So, not as bad as it sounds.

UPDATE: They sent someone to fix it and they stood behind their product. MOST APPRECIATED!

They have the worst customer service!
I had dishwasher installed June 21, 2019 and it stopped washing after 4-5 loads. It was only 6 weeks old when it stopped working. I've been trying to get service call since end of July and no service calls available after 2 pm. The company that whirlpool has hired to do the service on its appliances will not accommodate people's work schedule.
It's 2019 no after hours or Saturday appts, seriously people work!
I will never buy a whirlpool product again unless they offer better service.

I have NEVER written a negative company review. I am SOOO FRUSTRATED with this company and TERRIBLE customer service/support.

I bought 5 appliances from a distributor in June. My main concern in the dryer. It has NEVER dried properly since the day it was first used. The clothes come out damp. I do not overload it, my venting is completely fine etc.

I spoke with telephone customer service very shortly after my first use. I was told that my area was not serviced by whirlpool (I live 25 minutes from a major city) and that they would have to find an external company to come and look at the dryer. I waited WEEKS. The repair man finally came, said my venting was fine, did all the checks and said that he would need to order a new panel and it would take a few weeks. It has been MONTHS. Months and months of damp clothes costing me a fortune to re-dry each load.

I have called back to the telephone support and been on hold for over 30 minutes and still not able to reach anyone. I have tried the online chat in which I was told they would have the repair man call me. I have heard nothing. I have once again tried to use the online chat and have been informed "we're sorry, we are currently unavailable to assist you". Not the first time I have received that on the online chat.

Additionally, the wash machine is also defective. The wash cycle will sit on "1 minute remaining" for over 30 minutes sometimes, it intermittently turns itself off after hitting the start button (yes I wait for the count down and wait to hear it start), and occasionally it completely freezes and won't even turn on. How did I get 2/5 defective products??!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I understand that defective products happen. But the customer service is TERRIBLE. Actually, it's non existent.

Beware of ordering Whirlpool parts online at Whirl...

Beware of ordering Whirlpool parts online at Whirlpool.ca. I ordered a part (handle) on a Saturday online. Realized immediately that I had ordered the wrong part, but there was no way to cancel the order online, and the phone service is closed on the weekend. So on Monday, the next business day, I called the 800 number, waited for 20 min on hold, hung up, called back and got put on a list for them to call me back. When they called, I immediately was put on hold again for 5 minutes, then after explaining my situation was told she could not cancel it and no supervisor was available to speak to me. Was put on hold again for 10 minutes and transferred to the Parts department. They told me that they weren't sure they could cancel it and would have to send an email to the place to cancel it being shipped. I said I would not be paying to send it back if they ship it, nor would I be paying a $25 restocking charge. She said this time they would wave it. I cannot believe that they would not have the ability to cancel an order for a customer automatically, but instead act like they are doing me a favor?? The part hadnt even shipped yet! I will never order from them again until they change the way they operate their online business. Very poor customer service.Beware when ordering online. I got lucky.

I bought my Whirlpool French door, bottom freezer last November. I am happy with the actual fridge but it is so noisy that even after all these months it still bothers me. I contacted my dealer, who referred me to Whirlpool. They sent a technician who ascertained the fridge worked properly. That was never the issue. Anyway after pursuing my complaint through telephone calls and writing to head office, which I never got a reply from, I resigned myself to a noisy fridge. At the time I had a very sick husband and ran out of energy. So if you are sensitive to noise do not buy this product.

I purchased a Cabrio washer and drier on August 18 and the washing machine is a POS. It doesn't get clothes wet, doesn't clean them (obviously not possible if not getting wet), its leaving stains and residue on the clothes and spin cycle is so strong it's going to damage my clothes. I had a repair technician come out and he said it is all working fine. Got ahold of Whirlpool customer service again and told them the machine still isn't washing my clothes and they told me if the tech said it was working fine then it is. I then told them again about the issues I'm having and was told that this is how the machine is meant to wash clothes. Seriously? You built a machine to not clean clothes. I literally just through $1200 out the window because I've only had the washer two months and refuse to use it as it's ruining my clothes so its trash and now how have to buy a new one. DEFINITELY NOT a Whirlpool again. So disappointed in the customer service I received and can't believe they are selling this machine still.

We bought a new Maytag washing machine. It operated for about a month before it stopped working. We called in for repairs and was told it was some sort of board. It has now been two weeks and when we call nobody can give us an answer as to when our brand new washing machine will be working and we are told "the part will arrive when it arrives" and won't even give us an estimate (poor customer service). We call the location that sold us the unit, they tell us to call the repair store, the repair store tells us to call Whirlpool, Whirlpool puts us through to another department who says it maybe another two weeks before we hear back on the status. We are a family of 5 with young children, four weeks to get a new washing machine fixed is way too long, specially since we still don't have an idea how long it is going to be even after we talk to someone about it. At this point I really wish we could give negative stars on a review.

Response to Edmund: We are calling almost daily now. They say the machine needs to be replaced. We call Whirlpool and constant voicemails but once they answered and was told that it is already expediated (with a very bad attitude, that was last week); however, the local store here in Chilliwack says they must wait until they hear from Whirlpool. If this is expediated, I would hate to see how long it would take otherwise. I think e-mailling you won't help as clearly nothing changes. Controls need to change from above or else there will be these constant negative reviews online from your customer base.

After several complaints about a constant high whine coming from our our French door 29 cu. ft. refrigerator and two service calls, the serviceman agreed to replace the offending circulating fan which was done today. What a difference; peace at last. I am relieve and delighted. I only wish they had accepted the problem was real and changed the fan when we first complained. We can now enjoy our great refrigerator.

I bought all brand new appliances for my new home, hooked up everything and noticed the dishwasher wasn t working properly, called for assistance and the tech came over, apparently needs a new motor. I contacted whirlpool again to see if the dishwasher could be replaced with a new one since it came from factory in a non working condition and they insisted it that they can only fix it . Since October 22 till today December 10th I still don t have a working dishwasher. I will definitely never buy and whirlpool brand again. The review on This page are accurate and sincere. Microwave lasted 2 years. Next washer and dryer, stacked dual. A siphon and cap went. Crappy China quality grade appliances. I will never look at or buy whirlpool garbage even if you sold it to me half off.

Absolutely worst company to deal with. My mother got a freezer from The Brick and waited for her whirlpool freezer for months. She got it, and because of renovations she didn't turn it on until 8 days later. The moment she turned it on not even a 24 hours later it stops working and smells like smoke. They send a technician and the technician says its a DUD, its a LEMON. then she called whirlpool and tell them please send me a new freezer and they are like nope. we will send another technician! how does that even make sense. They booked a technician twice afterwards and no technician shows up. My mother bought a freezer to use, she paid well over 1500$ for this freezer and does not work. Two and a half months later and no working freezer and everyone is passing the buck. this is unacceptable. Do not buy a freezer from these people, we are now out of $1500 and have a broken junk of a freezer that looks completely brand new. How will Whirlpool make this right, we just want another freezer, one that actually works.

Whirlpool has not lived up to their name. Purchased a new washing machine. It was defective from day one - stopped in mid cycle. The technican came and fixed it. A few months after the 1 year the same problem has resurfaced. I am being charged to have it fixed, because I am being told, extended warranty was not purchased.

Why is the manuacturer's warranty only limited to 1 year? This item purchased as a new item, defective from day one. The washer should have been replaced when the techinician came, because it appears that the appliance was probably defective from the factory.

I would not buy another whirlpool product, and if there is a problem with it again, I will dispose of it, for sure!

Worst customer and repair services I have ever exp...

Worst customer and repair services I have ever experienced.

Bought a new condo and came with whirlpool appliances. The washing machine was broken down two months ago and it is still under warranty. Technician visited 4 times and replaced motor and control unit, and still couldn't fix it. We hand washed our clothes for more than a month. I am still waiting for the new part being back ordered and that means I will not have washing machine for another two or three weeks since they are not working during Christmas.

Every time, when I called the customer support, I was told my warranty only covers repair and what I could do is just waiting. I requested a backup until this one was repaired and was told this wasn't covered in the warranty either.

In the last two scheduled technician visit, one time, he never showed up, the second time, he showed up and stayed for 5 minutes and left a note to us and left since he did not have the part.

I hope someone in Whirlpool Canada can read this and fix the communication issues between your service and repair system.

Horrible!!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! Do not purchase any of their appliances in particular washer. The start button stop working on my washer had repair person come out only to discover all the interior screws etc had rusted away and as he was trying to remove panel the front of the washer started to peel away exposing tons of rust and unable to fix do to the screws being so rusted he could not remove them. It's only 4 years old and when I contacted Whirlpool they told me it was my fault for using too much bleach! Which is so not true!!!!! And even if I poured gallons of bleach into the machine is that not a design issue making it leak! So shocked they made this my fault!! Will never buy Whirlpool again!!!!!! See above picture of issue

Unbelievable....this company has charged my credit card and I've never even purchased anything from them. I have been trying for the last 4 weeks to have them rectify the charges but cant even get to a person who can help me. You would think over the 10 plus people I have spoken to one would take some initiative and try to help. Nothing but take the information and I'll get back to you. Well I never hear back from anyone. All I get is "we have forward your information to accounting and someone will be in touch next week." They cant even tell me what was purchased. Even the supervisor is to busy to call me back. I think theres some fraudulent activity going on here....you would think a company like this would want to know if is going on but is guess not. Now I'm forced to cancel my card. Thanks whirlpool.........hopefully someone who cares will read this and reach out to rectify the situation.

Supplier again talked to Whirlpool on Sept 11 and they said it was shipping on 14th. Now on 24th it has not arrived at supplier yet. I just expect honesty and not a line of BS. Do what you say you are going to do.

For the love of God, do not buy Whirlpool. I have a washer and dryer that are 8 years old and they are rusting. The inside of the washer has rusted all over the edges and has ruined our clothes. I called Whirlpool and it was a "too bad, so sad for you" situation. The rep tries to tell me that this is common with all washers and not just their brands. Anyone with half a brain would know this is not true. Whirlpool does not stand by their products and are not willing to help you. Save yourself aggrevation and money. Buy another brand. If I could give negeitive star,a, I would.

If I could give minus stars I would. I am completely blown away at how terrible both the quality of the product and service is. Whirlpool Maintenance person managed to break our washer entirely, recommended buying a new washer, which broke within a day. Maintenance never showed up to fix it then yelled and gave a fake number when requested his boss s contact. It s been months later, still no washer, out over $1,000, and several days off work. Do not purchase anything from this company, unless you want to hate your life.

Whirlpool Amana stove: stove top does not heat up to fan fry, stir fry, or even boil eggs at anything less than a gentle boil. This causes all recipes to be modified - meat has to be finished off in oven, timings are off for coordinating a meal. Complained no less than six times. Representative today stated it was how the newest model operated , then pretended to have been cut off. Very shoddy indeed, verging on criminal.

$CDN 1699.99 23 month old Whirlpool fridge model W...

$CDN 1699.99 23 month old Whirlpool fridge model WRF532SNHW00 bottom freezer stopped cooling and caused us to lose contents of freezer.
I determined that the cooling coils were frozen solid before the tech arrived and thawed them with a hair dryer. Tech said common problem where relay in control board WPW10637328 gets stuck and then the fridge never goes into its thaw cycle. The thaw cycle prevents coils from building up ice. Repair $CDN 435.05

Follow-up: In response to my 1 star posting, Whirlpool contacted me and has settled my complaint to my satisfaction. Thank you Whirlpool, you are not as evil as some make you out to be.

Purchased a Whirlpool Fridge in Jan. 2014. We have an extended warranty of 5 years. So far it has been over 6 weeks of service calls and the techs that are sent to fix the problem, still have not repaired it. The freezer is -40, everything is frosted and now the fridge is freezing food. The controls are set at 1 & 1 for fridge and freezer. We lost over $150 in food. Whirlpool said it's not up to them, deal with Comaraco the company that has the extended 5 year warranty. I've had enough, honor your product and replace this fridge. Someone help!!!!! The last repair guy sent said we had to be patient, could you?

They dont mind about the safety of their clients, i called to let them know about my concwrn of my oven that was bought 6 mos ago because it suddenly turn on by it self and cant turn it off until i pull the plug out but the customer service wont do anything until it happens again.. what happen if we are not home and turn on again by itself? Absolutely awful products and service. We bought brand new Maytag and kitchen aid appliances for our whole home about 2 years ago. After countless service calls and days off work to be there for these service calls they agreed to exchange our kitchen aid range only to now have the new range not working and the only solution to be to wait for a part they don t have and are trying to find. Likely to result in over a two week wait. All the while we have also had a number of parts replaced on our Maytag fridge which they have also agreed to exchange and are still waiting months later for the exchange. There is nothing the call centre employee nor their manager will do to help. I sincerely wish my thousands of dollars had gone elsewhere and urge others to think twice before purchasing any of their products.

Bought a washer 2 years ago and it has broken down already. I have extended warranty and booked a technician to have a look. Good luck getting a technician to come out and look at the problem. They said they would be here between 8am and 12pm. and never showed. After phoning they said i didn't have an appointment and to book one through store where i bought the washer. Then after arguing saying i had an appointment they did confirm that yes i did have one but they had no technicians available today. WHIRLPOOL SELLS CRAP AND THEY JUST DON'T CARE AT ALL.

If I could give a 0 STAR'S I would.... They have been nothing but difficult and non helpful. We bought all our appliances from this company and after 4 days of getting our washer and dryer they both had issues and were not working. We have had the washer repaired in the last year 5 times and the dryer 3. Customer service was not helpful. Each time we have had to wait over 2 weeks for a repairpperson to come and we have had to go to a laundromat, not fun when you have 3 small children and are in the middle of a pandemic. We recently called again as the washer is now putting holes in our clothes and they still are not willing to replace the product. Our dryer omky drys clothes on the bulk setting. This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with for appliances and I would never recommend it.

I own a built-in Kitchen Aid oven and microware unit model KEMS308SWHOO series XW3602050 that was purchased 31 October 2008. The microware unit no longer heats its contents, so I called on October 9th to ask for a repair person to come to my home and repair the unit.

I was told that my unit required 2 people on site in order to safely remove it from the wall, determine the cause of the defect and either repair immediately or order a part to be installed at a later time.

Two service men arrived shortly after noon on October 16, 2018. They unscrewed the unit in order to remove it from the wall. Once they saw that the unit did not plug on the wall directly behind the unit, they immediately stated that they were unable to repair without the presence of an electrician.

They were clearly unprepared to have the power source turned off from the applicable breaker, either by themselves or by me. They immediately re-installed the unit but did not insert the screws that they had removed. They did not attempt to investigate or repair the unit.

They then forced me into paying for the visit as I was alone in my home at the time and I found them somewhat intimidating. They left after spending a maximum of 10 minutes in the house. I then was forced to fumigate my home because both service men reeked of smoke.

I find this service to be atrocious. I request a full refund for the payment of $172.46 ($149.99 plus tax). If you do not comply, I will proceed with notifying CIBC visa and instruct them to cancel the payment. I also intend to notify the appropriate local business associations to alert them of this disgusting practice.

Hi Whirlpool... currently I am very dissatisfied with our products. We have a washer/dryer, fridge, stove, and dishwasher all whirlpool brand. As of now the washer is giving us issues in the form of the panel buttons, the fridge is the model where the freezer causes water to drain into the bottom of the freezer and leak out the door causing us to now break ice out of the bottom weekly to make sure that we don't get water damage to our floor, and as of a couple days ago our dishwasher is now leaking water. All our products are only a few years old and get handled with care as it is only my husband and I. We are both in our 30's and understand the value of taking care and performing regular cleanings/maintenance of major purchases to make them last, however it doesn't seem to matter with these products. I am currently 8 1/2 months pregnant and cannot be down on the floor chipping ice out of the bottom of the freezer and on my hands and knees trying to see where the leak is coming from on the dishwasher so as to determine the part required for repairs! Would love to hear from you to see what can be done as far as customer service, if nothing, please know we will NEVER be purchasing another whirlpool product and will make sure none of our friends or family members do either.

This issue is still not resolved and Whirlpool continues to waste our time. The latest debacle being their offer of a replacement washer. The delivery company called us last week and had us disassemble the defective stacking washer/dryer (not easy!) and we also booked a service elevator.

When the delivery truck showed up, they were shocked that no washer was on their truck. Now our tenant has a washer and dryer sitting in the middle of her living room, as we don't know whether to reassemble it or if the new one is ever going to arrive?

Don't fall for their attempt to look like a "caring company" with their response below requesting info. We have submitted our info numerous times by email, phone, Twitter and FB.

If it wasn't so frustrating, it would be comical at this point...

Leaving aside the poor engineering that would lead to a failure in just over a year, their service technician has been out 4 times, each time with a different diagnoses and replacing parts that he "was sure to correct the problem". Still not working. He blamed it on a "power outage" in the building. As an electrical engineer, I know this is complete B.S. Very disappointed!

I have had technicians out to look at it, they have no answer to the noise. This fridge needs to be replaced with one that operates properly however WHIRLPOOL is unwilling to replace it! My brother has been in the industry for more than 30 years working for Maytag, Whirlpool, Jenn Air, and now he currently works at Bosch. I have had many high end fridges as have my siblings none of the fridges ever sounded like this piece of ....... I used to think highly of the brand Whirlpool now I am thoroughly disappointed in this brand and their attention to this matter. Purchased a Whirlpool fridge in July 2019. Fast forward a whole 10 months to May 2020. After 8 longs weeks, which included 2 service calls, we are told; sorry it is UNFIXABLE. What? Less than a year old. Unfixable. Prior to the Service Agents departure he told us we would be hearing from Whirlpool within 24-48 hours. Ha. At the 48 hr mark, my wife called the Customer Experience department for information on the progress of our situation.
Nothing , no information. She has proceeded to speak with this department for updates every other day. Still no update. The Customer experience department could care less how your experience is. We have been told exchange department is a bit back logged. Oh I understand your product is junk. That clearly explains the back log. Not sure if Whirlpool realizes but this how we keep the food that feeds our family cold and from spoiling. I understand refrigerators are to be high priority, I would hate to see their low priority. This is completely unacceptable. I am not asking for the impossible just a little communication, some simple answers. That is it. This will be posted on every social media site I can find

The WORST customer service I have ever dealt with.
We bought a dishwasher it stopped working after 9 loads of dishes. We waited 3 months for it to get fixed they replaced the control panel , the motor, the water pump. For it to work about a month and it stopped working again. We are now on 4 months waiting for a technician to show up . I have spent numerous hours on hold ( because their wait times are always higher than normal ) to be told sorry we can't replace it until we get a diagnosis.
When we did finally get to speak to a supervisor he said he would give us a significant deal on a new dishwasher but couldn't at that moment because the computers were not working so he would call me back. That was 2 weeks ago !!! I have left him numerous messages and have not had a call returned !
As I wrote this review I am 41 minutes on hold waiting to speak to a customer service technician. It's beyond angering

Bought a new RV trailer .3 weeks after the fridge completely died on me. Middle of May. Technician came to repair it and said it was behond repair. After many frustrating calls, 26th July still had no fridge. Got fed up and told them to reimbursed me. They accepted it, but would send me a check after they pick up their fridge. I have to let one knows that someone from Whirlpool contact me immediately after my negative feedback. He took the complain,and told me that Whirlpool will pay for the cost to replace the console on the stove. Two (2) weeks after a technician came and fixed it, without anymore cost to me. So my wife is so happy now, so we agreed we will go out and get a big deep freezer for the basement, and surely we did. Can you guess what brand it is? We bought a clothes washer on August 21st. We received the washer and installed it in the following week.
Washer does not work.
We called for the repair.
The technician came on Wednesday September 16. He saw that a part was missing.
He returned on Friday, September 18 to do the repair.
We use the washer on the weekends, to realize that the cycles do not work, there is no automatic spin and clothes with dust or sand still come out with dust and sand .
We call back to service.
We are requesting a refund for the washer. We are told that since we are within the "1 month satisfaction" period we may have a refund.
Officially, we can only use the washer since September 18th.
We sent the papers the same day.
Since then, we have been waiting for the reimbursement service to call us to make an appointment.
When we ask customer service for an estimate of how long it takes to get a call, we are told that there is nothing they can do for us. That when the service falls on our request, we will have a call. We cannot know if it will be in a week or in a month.

We are on October 7th and we have not been able to use our washer since the beginning of September. We've been washing our laundry by hand all this time. This is unacceptable.

Manufacture says this is standard, Canadian Appliance requires commitment to acceptance of twenty five percent restocking fee before they will review the return. RUBBISH! This is no way to treat a customer with a legitimate issue with the purchased product. Over $3,500.00. All that I had requested was a complete refund. Nope! They want to keep your money. I'll start this review off in hope's more people will check these Google reviews for the true gauge on appliances. If you go to any consumer report for Whirlpool appliances, or any appliances for that matter, you will always see good to great reviews because typically, they'll run well right from the factory and probably won't break within that warranty period. With buying and moving several times in my life, this isnt the first time I've dealt with brand new appliances that failed miserably just outside the warranty.

With saying that, I purchased a Whirlpool washing machine two years ago and realized it wouldn't turn on last week. I phoned Whirlpool and they scheduled a technician to come out. Mind you, it was a week to come, which wasnt my complaint since these technicians are probably over worked and are running from call to call all day. He diagnosed the issue that the circuit board was fried and said this repair isnt uncommon and that he sees it more and more. Four weeks and $725.55 later, it was repaired, that total included the service call and part.

If you read the reviews below, you'll see a common theme of these products lasting only two to three years before some expensive repair comes your way. I'm sure some will opt out of fixing these and buy a brand new unit, throwing these products into the landfill and causing this whole cycle over again. I feel these big manufacturers have lost their way, more interested in mass production, rather than building a product that will last for years to come and have people returning to purchase the same appliance again and again

UPDATE: what I thought was fixed, has broke yet again. The third visit from the technician was not the charm. Was doing a load of laundry when it stopped and started flashing F3 E1. I phoned whirlpool and was guided through how to diagnosed the issue and repaired the two areas that the code is warning you about. Washing machine fired back up and failed yet again two minutes later, listening to the motor, it sounds more broken then what it was before. Now the door is locked with a wet load of laundry, probably now ruined. Hey Whirlpool, can I borrow some quarters for the laundry mat??

I would say this is the worst Customer Care/Service experience I ever had from a big brand like jennair. And here is why:
On July. 10, 2020 I have opened a service call for 2 of my Jennair appliances:
1- Microwave Oven Combo unit (Oven not heating up but Microwave part is working)
2- Dishwasher does not complete any of the cycle washes. opened this call a week after the first call.
After the first call it took almost 2 weeks for the (Stien) service technician to schedule a visit.
He looked at the oven and he ordered Main board.
Then when the part was ready about 6 days another technician came back and looked at the dishwasher and he said he will order pump and another small part. Also he installed the main board for the Microwave oven Combo unit. He said everything is good now and he left with the promise that when the parts for the dishwasher are ready they will come back to install it.
Just right after he left, I found that the microwave buttons doesn't show on the screen anymore and I can't use the microwave. I called Jennair again and told them so. the phone representative told me that she is going to send them an email to come back.
few days later when no one called or showed up from Stein appliances. I called Stein appliances to follow up with both repairs and the representative (Sarah) told me that the part for the dishwasher arrived and she scheduled a technician to come and install it in 2 days. then I told her how about the oven repair? and she said the call is closed and i have to open a new call. I told her that I already called Jennair and they told me that they are going to send an email to continue the repair. and I
asked her to send the technician back to look after the uncompleted repair. then her voice changed and she started yelling at me and talked in a very aggressive way so I asked to talk to a supervisor because she is not listening to me. And when I talked to the supervisor ( Ryan) he seemed that he didn t care at all about my problem and I told him what kind of customer service you provide. He told me: ok, You don t like our service.. I will add you to our DO NOT SERVICE LIST and you go back to Jennair to find you another service provider and he Hung up on me.

I can t really imagine that this is the service company that Jennair and whirlpool are relying on to do their service and Customer care.

And here it comes the even bigger problem
When I called Jennair back to find another service provider, they said there is no other service provider. I asked to talk to a supervisor and (Matty) talked to me and she said that she will escalate the problem and will try to outsource another service provider for me through a lady called (Suzan) and somebody will get back to you within MAX 48 hours.

After 4 days I called again and talked to another supervisor who told me the exact words adding that the service manager is on vacation and they can t find a backup manager and she promised that she will get back to me within 48 hours. that was Thursday Aug. 6, 2020.

Called Again On Aug. 17. same reesult.

And today is Aug. 18, 2020

I don t have either the microwave or the dishwasher functioning for more than 6 weeks!!

Can you please advise What should I do now after that much hours of phone calls, stress, hassle and humiliation?

Paul called ahead, arrived on time, wore boot coverings inside and was extremely professional. Found and fixed the issue in a short time (kids socks in pump!) and provided tips on how to avoid the issue (washing bags for smaller items). Very positive experience.

I moved to a new condo with a whirlpool washer and dryer. The washer broke down showing an "A10" error code 3 months into purchase. There was no mention of it in the manual. I looked it up on youtube and figured out that the drain needs to be unplugged. My wife and I did that (wasn't easy at all), then a week after same thing. Drained it again but them it broke down 5 mins after. Called the whirlpool and they scheduled someone to come take a look at it. My wife took a day off work for the technician to come. They were supposed to come 8-12, called them back at 12:30 they said the technician hurt his back and they are just calling the customers now to inform them "After the appointment is scheduled". Absolute garbage of company (product quality and customer service". The only reason I have to deal with them is because my landlord chose to buy their products. I personally would avoid dealing with this company at all costs.

Much like the rest of the reviews here, terrible experience dealing with this company. My fridge icemaker broke. They came a combined total of 5 times over the course of 1.5 months to get it fixed, which involved replacing the valves, ice maker itself, and all the wiring, which STILL DIDN'T FIX THE ISSUE. They of course only come out 9-5 M-F, so I had to take a day off work each time. If you factor in the repair bill (which I'm disputing) and the lost wages, I could have bought a new fridge and still had money left over.

Save yourself time, money, and sanity and get a non-whirlpool brand appliances.

Before you buy any appliance check that it is not a whirlpool product under another of their corporate brands e.g. Kitchen -Aid, Jenn-Air, Maytag, Amana, Baukneeht etc. We had 3 of their refrigerators that lasted a total of 9 years. Problems included 2 broken motors, a broken control panel and an ongoing leak that flooded our kitchen floor and took 3 service calls to address. We lost food twice. Not withstanding extended warranties, the only compensation offered by whirlpool was a small discount towards another of their products. No thanks! ABW Anything But Whirlpool .

Our Fridge (only 2 years old) has been broken for 3 weeks now. We had a tech out 10 days ago who told us the replacement part was instock nearby and he would be back in 1-2 days to fix. We followed up when 3 days passed without a call to schedule replacement no luck, called back a week after and we were told they are unable to get in touch with the tech so they will send him an email, no response. Called back again today and am told they still cant get a hold of the tech and that the part was not ordered until last Friday (7 days ago), it has not arrived and they are unable to tell me when it will be in and when it will be fixed. So here I am at a very busy time of year for hosting and storing food with a broken fridge and left with no update. Very disappointed with this lack of action.

Called the customer service for inquiry about a part and waited for more than half hour(which is not a case for me as long as I can talk to the right person). The real problem is, seriously, they are not a professional manufacturer at all. Don't worry, I will give reason. I have an old range oven from the previous house owner and there's a small problem with it so I called for help. But, after told the lady my model numbers, she told me they don't have any information of this range because they don't keep it! Seriously?!?!?!?!?! You don't keep it? You just made the machine and burnt all the files? Whirlpool, seriously. Buy some hard drives and saved all your scanned files.
P.S if you have any issue with the parts, save your time and don't call them and go some local part stores(they keep the files which destroyed by their own manufacturer. And if the replacement is too expensive just go buy a new one but not whirlpool.

We purchased a home with a Kitchen-aid gas range that was five years old. The product was supposed to be top of the line. The first time we used the self clean function, the latch melted causing it to error and malfunction. Through a series of no shows and disputes with Whirlpool we agreed to pay for the repair even though it had just completed its warranty by a couple of months. The part replaced we attempted to clean the oven again and the same thing happened. On the next visit from service the technician advised us that the part would be ordered but that it is a DEFECT WHICH WHIRLPOOL is aware of and had since stopped making the self clean range, replacing it with steam clean. Through another series of disputes, we finally agreed we would purchase new directly from Whirlpool. Purchase made, we set up a gas fitter and then they could not guarantee delivery when they committed to it. The outsourced carrier out of the blue contacts us to deliver on a day we were not available even though Whirlpool confirmed the delivery would not happen that day several times.

The following week the unit was to be delivered and we waited an entire Saturday, paid a gas fitter and no one showed to deliver. The outsourced carrier claimed they didn't have our phone number to call us on the Saturday. They had left messages the week before and have left several messages since suddenly wanting to deliver the unit.

Whirlpool has offered no compensation for our troubles, they knowingly had a defective product and did not recall it. They are rude, lack any sense Of CUSTOMER SERVICE and THEY HAVE FAILED THE TEST of their claim to be the BEST AND MOST SERVICE FRIENDLY WITH THE GREATEST PRODUCTS.

Let me suffice to say DONT BUY THE PRODUCT AND DONT BUY THE STORY

Out of Pocket and out of confidence in this Company. Hope the CEO gets a read on this one.

NOTHING worked. called whirlpool they sent in 2 technicians of who did absolutely nothing and kept saying its my floors. they couldn't careless about the headaches this machine is giving me. Ive tried so many things and its been an ongoing battle. I spoke to a supervisor who offered me a 50$ gift certificate and thought that would made and a difference A MONTH LATER AND STILL WAITING FOR THAT GIFT CARD. Our washer has now been repaired 5 times. 5 service calls meaning 5 times being on hold trying to get my washer fixed. Every time it takes weeks for the tech to come out. Most recently it began putting small holes in our clothes. 5 repairs with no offer of replacement. It arrived broken and is still broken 1 year later.

I am so tired of dealing with whirlpool. I would never recommend their product as their customer service is horrendous. I purchased all whirlpool products for my new home and regret it deeply.

I have let everyone I know to stay away from Whirlpool unless you want to gamble and get a lemon appliance which will never be replaced no matter how many times a tech has to come to your house.

We bought a Kitchen Aid fridge and stove in May 2017. Since our purchase, the fridge has required 3 repairs (we finally purchased an extended warranty for the fridge since the regular warranty expires in a few months). The oven in our dual range stopped working while cooking our Christmas turkey and required us to purchased food from a restaurant to feed our family Christmas dinner. The circuit board was replaced. Since then we've used the oven 3 times and it is now not working again. Now we have to wait almost 2 weeks for a repair because the only technician available in our area (Port Elgin, ON) is away on vacation. Is this how Whirlpool stands behinds it's products? Is this what you can expect from the quality of Kitchen Aid appliances. We are very disappointed!

Buy at your own risk! There is 0 accountability with defective products. We purchased 6 new appliances from whirlpool in August 2016. We have had repair people out 12 times in 6 months to fix 4 different issues with the whirlpool washing machine and one with the over the range microwave. Both Goemans and whirlpool refused to replace the washing machine which accounted for 11 of the service calls. Whirlpool only offered a 1 year extended warranty. The first repair company dented the door frame, tore a window screen and broke the dryer vent. One time they showed up and didn't have the right tool for the job and returned three days later. Very disappointed in Whirlpool and Goemans for not standing behind their products and forcing us to take 12 days off work to be home for repair people. Just terrible. Goemans called whirlpool on our behalf and whirlpool called my wife and scolded her for calling the appliance store first.

Lesson learned to read Google reviews first. I will never purchase from whirlpool or goemans again.

We are still having issues with our over the range microwave. A simple plate of food takes over 8 minutes to warm. Repair guy who came out to look didn't bring the measurement tool to see if it is working properly. Instead put a cup of water in and said it works fine.

Seems whirlpool needs to review their repair companies, customer service, replacement policies, and quality assurance.

Since the above was posted we had service people out 2 more times for washing machine before we gave up and bought a new one. We had the microwave repaired once and now our refrigerator stopped working.

What does $10000.00 get you? 7 appliances that last a little over 2.5 years.

While in the market for appliances I was told to stay clear of Samsung and LG because of terrible warranty service. My wife and I took this advice and went with Whirlpool for our fridge, stove, washer and dryer. Our oven stopped working in the first year and we made arrangements with Whirlpool to have a repairman come out. He was a no show and on my follow up call to them, I was told that they do not have a repairman in my area. I live in a city of 75,000 and they have no repairman! Whirlpool put the the onus on me to find someone to fix my appliance and they would pay my bill. I don't have $500 to pay a third party repair company and wait for a reimbursement. I will be without a oven for at least 6 months.
Moral of this story- WHIRLPOOL WARRANTY SERVICE IS JUST AS BAD AS THEIR OVERSEAS COMPETITORS!

Bought an expensive ($4000.00) dual ice maker refrigerator and have had nothing but troubles since I bought it. I have owned it for about 7 months now and I have had nothing but issues with the ice makers. I don't think that both of them have been working at the same time for more than 2 weeks in total. Have had the service guys out numerous times in 7 months to have them fixed. The first servicemen never even fixed the problem. After three weeks I finally contacted them again because I did not hear back from them. Then they claimed that they have not been trained on the new refrigerators. Now the fridge is making an awful LOUD humming sound and the top fridge has stopped working. Of course it is a long weekend and there is no way to get ahold of the company even just to schedule an appt for early in the week. I had to empty my fridge and carry it all to my basement refrigerator. What a hassle. Very unsatisfied!!!

Called to schedule a technician to diagnose a refrigerator cooling problem.
-Appointment was made for Friday the same week
-The Next day I received a call to schedule an appointment, confused because I already had an appointment ! spent over an hour on the phone and even spoke with a manager and they did not believe me that an appointment was already made for friday!
-Had to schedule an appointment a SECOND time for next week Thursday.
-Technician visits and tells me it is the compressor but he did not have the part (meanwhile whirlpool had told me that the technician would be able to repair on the spot and travel to get the part if needed)
-two weeks pass
-Could not get a quote for part/repair over 48 hours after technician visit
-this was a rental unit and I had to purchase a new refrigerator
-Received quote day after my new refrigerator was installed and old one had been scrapped

Whirlpool or whoever repairs their products were probably over booked and called me pretending that I never had an appointment. what a nightmare especially since this is a rental property, and they still charged me diagnostic fees!!

Purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator 4 months ago needed repairs twice been without a refrigerator in total 5 weeks no help from customer service terrible product and they insist on repairing it instead of replacing terrible product, terrible service will never purchase a Whirlpool product again a terrible experience!!!!!!

I have been waiting for a part since the beginning...

I have been waiting for a part since the beginning of July. I have called the company 4 times to get updates on the part without any resolution. My washer is supposedly new. Right from the beginning, my washer has been defective. I called again today and they indicated that the tech has been trying to reach me since Oct 20th. I have not had any calls from the tech. The Customer Service rep was completely unhelpful and unable to help me resolve this issue. Never again will I buy this product. Their customer service leaves a lot to the be desired.

Horrible customer service. On hold for at least 3...

Horrible customer service. On hold for at least 30 minutes every time I call, even if it says wait time is zero seconds. Once I reach somebody, they are literally the slowest people I have ever dealt with in my life. And to add insult to injury - I didn t even receive the part I ordered but I do get charged for it. I will never, ever buy another Whirlpool product.

Don't buy the KitchenAid Refridgerator. It's worst than any other brand. I can prove it. I bought the brand new 6 year back for $2300 and now it broke down. I scheduled their service technician paid $100 just to diagnose the problem, because he didn't carry all the required parts. He think both the boards are damaged and gave me estimate of cost to replace is $800. Even he is not sure there may be other problems too. This is a qulity of their products and technicians. According to their customer service representatives these boards comes with only one year warrenty.

Guyes don't buy KitchenAid brands.

Even my neighbout bought Whirlpool washers at the same time and he already spent more then $300 within 3 years to replace the parts.

After calling for a service call for my Whirlpool ...

After calling for a service call for my Whirlpool refrigerator which is only 15 months old ($2678.05 worth), a technician came out to my house, fixed it, then left reassuring me all would be well. I found my freezer completely defrosted the next day.
I have tried to contact the technician as he left me his card but he did not respond, I tried to contact Your Corbeil Protection Plan but after ten minutes of holding the phone line for the service operator to come back I hung up. .
I am now sitting here with $500.00 worth of spoiled food and a refrigerator that is useless. I can only hope that I will get a direct call from Whirlpool after them reading this and compensate me for my loses and do something with this refrigerator. I would not give it even one star. But looking at the reviews it seems that I will not even hear from them

Im completely horrified at the lack of customer se...

Im completely horrified at the lack of customer service and care this company have for my family. We purchased a fridge and have problems since we bought it. We received a damaged fridge on delivery and instead of replacing it, they forcibly sent us $200 credit by telling us thats the only option for the cosmetic damage and they don't have a return and exchange policy. Now just after 4 months it broke down completely, all the food deteriorate and we threw out ton of food and its been 3 weeks , my family is out of fridge. Technicians were sent but the company refused to replace the fridge, which should have been replaced initially. The company is waiting for the warranty to be over somehow and that way we will end up with a defective fridge and will spend money on it all our life. Even though We spent thousands of dollars and bought numerous products, nobody is helping and nobody cares. It s not fair, NEVER HEARD OF ANY COMPANY WHICH DOES NOT HAVE A RETURN POLICY IN CANADA. So far took 5 days off from work to be home for the technicians and its still going. Whole family is suffering over one wrong choice we made of buying KitchenAid Appliances. Terrible Service from such a known name Brand. Customer Representative just ignores call OR switch the line between each other to act as a supervisor. Its a joke for them, shame.
