I have recently returned here after being over at Buttonville years ago. The customer service is quite good and problems are resolved very quickly. Like anything involving an instructor, you results may vary. I've had ones that care and try to help you to follow you passion, other who are there just to build up hours/money. If you don't feel your instructor is for you, switch ASAP. All you can control is that. Weather and maintenance are out of your control.

Seem to have lost their customer relations way. Very corporate and procerdure oriented. Very expensive school and seem to nickel and dime at every corner. If you are looking for a flight school , while reputable this is an expensive place to learn.
only way I know how to respond is to edit my previous review. while easy to take out of context, I will elaborate on the review if you forward your email. no sense discussing personal experiences in detail online.
Great up-to-date facility. Warm and friendly staff. Instructors are very knowledgeable. Prices are reasonable compared to other flight schools. Definitely thing about pursuing my pilot's license through them
Theur services are so fantastic and so awesome, their relationship with international students makes me like the school most, and would recommend it for anyone dreaming of studying aviation abroad.
Undoubtedly one of the best flying schools in whole of canada, Although the plane rent is little high but all the planes are well maintained and clean, so the money is worth it. All the instructors are very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. And yeah the staff and dispatchers are equal friendly, welcoming and always willing to help. So overall a fantastic place to get your training done. Invoice number: 22041
Been a customer for 8 years. Kept my recency up to date, and recently they cancelled my flight last minute (after it was booked for days), because the plane went through overhaul and needs dual time only, and I explained I have only a few days to my recency, their next available time was past my recency, so they told me to request a special permission to extend it. Andrew, the CFI has extended it by 2 days knowingly the next 2 days are bad weather, and the third is good weather, I asked for him to call me or extend it by 1 additional day, 2 days later I get a call from the front desk being told that he does not want to talk, and he has made up his mind that he will not extend even by 1 more day, even though this is all due to them cancelling, and saying I need a flight with an instructor again if I want my 30 day recency.
What a joke!
Just lost a customer with over 100 hours spent mostly dual in this school, will give my business to someone who values their clients.
My nephew and me attended different training courses here on C152 and 172.
But very hard to say I loved my flight training with CFA. Everybody wasn`t professional and friendly excluding middle-aged CFIs, feeling uncomfortable and making me disappointed regarding time and money spent on my training. Nothing special, don't waste your money and time here! Just fly for fun, not for flying career training. No idea how their business would exist without customers and good customer service.
I highly recommend against booking your flight with Adam Mossa. Rude guys and losers without perspective, high class instructor rates, sense of responsibility and good income jobs are only concerned how to build his own flight time using your money for tricky prolonged training. The main job of young instructors and flight dispatcher here to monitor TWR frequency and heehaw making fun of Chinese and Indian student`s communication lapses.
Important alert for international students. CFA will offer you Oshawa Village Suites for accommodation which 5 minutes drive from them. There is a dirty shelter of drugs, drug dealers and thief like CFA.
CFA is number 1 flight training in Canada. Very professional and friendly staff amd caring staff specially John (president of CFA) and Al (instructor ) . The k you for Everything!!! .
I did not have a very good experience at this school. They are friendly, but this is a muse. They said something could be done in two to two and a half hours which they milked out to be three different flights. The senior instructor charged me for pre-briefing time when he stood to watch me from afar, and said he answered questions when I didn't pose any. He would continually take the controls to apply a correction on climb out and take the controls to correct for heading. He also did a demo on a flight where my skills were to be observed, which was on my time, for which I paid for. I have a license. I passed my flight test. I can correct for climb and for heading, and find it demeaning when I am not given the credit for doing so. When I asked the Chief Flight Instructor about this, he swore allegiance to his instructor, didn't answer pertinent questions, and suggested I fly elsewhere. I invested three flights, over $600, and still did not complete the process I went there for initially. I absolutely will never fly there again, and would not recommend this to be a professional, ethical, moral or trustworthy place to invest your time and money in flight training.
What a joke. They sold me an essentially expired map that was not what i was looking for and said it was my fault and I could not return it. The manager Heidi is very bad at customer relations and told me "Not to expect a call back" when i left a number.
I asked for a new map and they said they had them. I realized after they were not new maps and they wouldnt let me return it. One of the instructors berated ME for making the mistake and refered to maps from 2 years ago as being "new".
A school that prioritizes safety and developing good skills, decision making, and pilot ability in those that train with them. Knowing that many students attend here in hopes of pursuing careers in aviation, it is apparent that they strive to ensure these students are well prepared for the professional industry. As someone who has experienced training at more than one flight school in Ontario, I can confidently say that my ability and confidence as a pilot has drastically increased from my time as a PPL renter, through CPL and advanced training, and later into a career at this school specifically.
Also, to quickly correct Greg's comment, with the actual wording from the email sent out to customers of the school:
"...We are running a promotion from March 01, 2019 to June 30. 2019. Leave us a review (preferably good, or if bad come and talk with [school staff]) on Google reviews or Facebook reviews. All reviews between the above dates, with the corresponding invoice dates are eligible for a monthly draw. We will draw the one hour of free single aircraft time monthly."
So, in actuality, it appears that the school is not looking to bribe students, but more so looking for genuine feedback from the many customers they have seen over many years. As a thank you, they wish to offer a bonus to reviews good OR bad.
I am writing this review simply to clear up any confusion written by these other various reviewers. ALL of the negative reviews I have read about the school are written by individuals who are unequivocally unable to read let alone follow school policy.
I am an international student who has been with the flight training school for 2 years now. In the time I have been here, my skills as a pilot have grown exponentially and is solely because of my instructor and standard the school has set for quality pilots. The instructors themselves each have unparalleled skills & abilities both as teachers and pilots subsequently producing competent student pilots. As a result, the training is rigorous and requires complete dedication to the course; anything less will result in disappointment with your skills which further leads to pointing fingers at the school. There is also a certain level of maturity needed when receiving constructive criticism from your instructor, especially in the very early stages of training pertinent to a students progression, which when there is a lack of it, tendencies of accusing instructor's of holding them back and 'stealing' their money come about. So in a nutshell, to be explicitly clear, if someone claims they are not progressing in their training, the fault lies either in their capabilities or inability to listen to the advice being given; which the school is not liable for.
As for the customer service. I can guarantee you, you will not meet a more pleasant group of dispatchers than the ones currently in the school. No matter what age; gender or race you are, every day, they will greet you with a smile on their face and give very efficient service. Even in the event they are at fault (which seldom happens), they will rectify their mistake swiftly and apologize for the inconvenience.
In my opinion, having been here for this long, it is the best flight training academy for international students and Canadians alike in the province, if not Canada.
So if you are deliberating whether or not to join the school, kindly ignore the half-baked english reviews attempting to tarnish the schools name and go see the institution for yourself. You will come back to pay me for writing this review simply because you WON'T have missed the best opportunity for your training.
I received the following email from the CFI of Toronto Airways:
"We are running a promotion from March 01, 2019 to June 30, 2019. Leave us a good review on Google or facebook reviews. All reviews between the above dates with corresponding invoice are eligible for a monthly draw for ONE HOUR OF FREE FLIGHT TIME..."
Apparently, they are so desperate for business that they feel the need to bribe people with a chance for a free hour of flight (instead of paying sky-high rates for C-172s) in exchange for saying something good about the company.
Do your research, find out what you're dealing with before you invest thousands of dollars in flight training. Be honest, there are better ways to do business than resorting to bribery.
Unfortunately the reviews listed here don't seem good. But their Facebook and other sites have good reviews. So it makes you wonder how accurate these reviews are. From my experience each flight school has issues, as they cannot control the weather, or when the aircraft break down. In aviation I always err on the side of caution. Of course customer service is always important so no excuse for that. My experience has been enjoyable. I call in advance of my booking to ensure the flight is going ahead as they instruct us to do. Saves the drive that way. Take the negative reviews with a grain of salt as they are the first people to post compared the the good reviewers. Try this flight school or any flight school first and make your own decision.
Excuse me, I want to join the school academy although I'm living in Russia. So could someone please tell me the steps to come and how to apply, getting the visa and all the stuff?
This School is an extreme waste of time, energy and most especially MONEY. They tend to give an estimated budget for your Training, but from my experience you will spend 3 times the budget. People spend 3- 4 years without having any valid license not even the smallest "PPL".
The international student office is ABSURD. They make little to no effort with helping the international student in settling in the country. The students come from different parts of the world with no parents, no accommodation and most definitely they experience extreme culture shook.
I also overheard two instructors gossiping about their students. They talked about the student's performance and some other negative comments. I believe the instructors should act as a leader and to also teach their students. If your student is not flying or he has some things he needs to improve, it will be nice to let the student know and then they can work on it than gossiping about your student.
In my opinion, the management is CORRUPT and some Instructors are very UNPROFESSIONAL.
Actually the email they sent out about the ongoing promotion reminded me to write this review!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bought a Groupon for a 75-minute introductory flight lesson and they had it redeemed prior to my booked lesson as they made a scheduling error. I booked for October 27th, but they marked me down for a lesson on September 27th instead. They then accuse me of missing an appointment I didn't make and cancelled my flight I had booked the following day. In addition, the lady who called me was giving me attitude, raising her voice, and being sarcastic. I believe a refresh course in customer service and basic conservation etiquette would be in order. The main reason I am mad in this situation is not because they cancelled my lesson, but because they got paid with MY groupon over their own mistake. I don't usually write reviews (let alone bad ones), but after being treated like a delinquent, I have to share my frustration.
Avoid this place! Rude, obnoxious, unprofessional.
