This review is specifically for the mountain as an experienced snowboarder with two children who also snowboard who are beginner/intermediate and experienced respectively. There are only 2 high speed quad lifts and they are a bit slower and antiquated than most modern mountains. After about 10am you can expect the crowds to overrun the lifts and now you are just another animal in the zoo. There is one decent length run (Nile Mile) but even that is over pretty quickly which wouldn t be bad if the impending 30 minute line wasn t waiting at the lift below you. It s quite frustrating but... hey, it is the poconos and camelback unfortunately is the best mountain here so I guess if you can be where you love, it s best to love where you are? Isn t there a song about that or something?

Very unprofessional. Even though the water park and rides are good, they don't have courtesy to provide water. Because of COVID-19, they closed all the water fountains but at least for their guests, they should provide one bottle water per person per room per night. It is very bad that they take advantage of the situation even with a basic necessity like water.
Further, when asked for coffee in the morning they refused stating that we need to buy it from the cafeteria downstairs. I am not sure how giving coffee pods in the room is being impacted by COVID-19?
This is a great mountain to teach a child how to ski. The staff from the ski patrol to the lift attendants to the ski school are very friendly and supportive.
Camelback is a decent ski and snowboard destination on the east coast. The lift ticket prices are good, but it can get congested. Sometimes it gets icy, but it is the east coast after all. I think they could have opened more trails earlier this year.
Triple the price for ski admission. Over crowded covid super spreader. I thought the dates were selling out because they had to limit the amount of people in. Nope, place was packed. People on top of each other.
Overall my family and I had fun. However, let me just say things here are way over priced for what they are. We spent two nights in one of the loft bedroom suites and the room was amazing. Everything was clean and well maintained. The water park was fun even though there were some some rides that were closed. They were open pretty much all day so my kids had fun swimming at night. Also it was not crowded so they were doing very well with crowd control. The food options were not bad but not great. We went to dinner at trails end and for a family of 4 of us we spent $92 and that was before tip. That s a little pricey for a burger, chicken sandwich and two kids meals. Yes we got an appetizer and dessert but at any other place we would of only spent $60. I mean this isn t Disney world and yet these were Disney world prices. I will say breakfast was delicious but again super pricey and if we didn t have the breakfast vouchers we would of spent the same about as we did for dinner. Also there was a big lack of direction. We had to constantly ask where to go but there were no maps that we could see. The staff knew where things were but I would like a map to see for myself. Again overall it was a fun trip and I would love to go again but maybe not for a little while.
Super disappointed with my recent stay at Camelback Resort. I knew I was taking a chance by going during the pandemic in July, but didn't expect the overall experience to be so poor. A new process was put in place where visitors were required to make a reservation to check-in, still there was a huge wait time in line.
Also, several rides and restaurants were shut down which didn't make much sense as the game room which is probably the biggest breading ground for bacteria was completely open..including the bowling.
In addition, no one came to clean the rooms the entire week-stay, which one would think cleaning would be heightened during this time? But all this I could look past. What really put the nail in the coffin for me was the view from my room....disgusting!
Thousands of cigarettes all over the ground and tonsss of trash. I left my family's clothes out to dry on my porch to come back to find chewed-up, and spit out, gummy bears all over my personal belongings. I called the front desk who seemed sympathetic and said they would have security call me back...no one ever called me back.
The next day I found chicken wing bones discarded on my porch with more cigarettes. I called the desk a second time and they assured me it would be handled. The following day, not to my surprise, more disgusting cigarettes. I gave up calling the front desk and realized I'd have to clean up the mess on my own in order for it to be addressed. I have young kids who I had to keep away from the mess and only came equipped with hand sanitizer, so I could not properly dispose of the trash covered in someone else's germs.
As a result of the lack of cleanliness and follow-up from staff I am now forced to get myself and my entire family tested after being subjected to the disgusting mess. I pray all is well. Unfortunately, I'm not sure the staff is trained to understand the severity of this matter. The pictures just don't do justice.
Had rooms reserved for a month, after checking in yesterday and not being notified of anything unusual by concierge staff found this posted in the hotel. When asking staff for further information was notified "idk I'm sorry" will not ever be staying at the hotel again...
Had to cancel the hotel. They offered me refund minus 30.00 but told me that they would give me a gift card for it. Well they never refunded the amount and gave me a gift card for the full refund. How stupid!!!! When I called to find out the customer service girl put me on hold and left me there.
Family friendly ski resort that caters mostly towards beginners/intermediates. Lift tocketd are also on the cheaper side when compared to some other mountains. Only went once but I would go back again.
Whoo.. cool place for family summer fun.. Family or with friends. lots of water attractions.. there is a pool or ride for all ages. big spacious . Plenty of fun. but when its packed expect long lines.. food is pricey typical tourist prices.. but on a hot summer day its the water slides that are fun
My kids had an amazing time! The suites could be definitely updated/nicer/cleaner, in our suite- the one set of bunker comforters were disgusting (not washed)- and they came to change it and didn't even try changing the sheets with it ... i said ummm, don't you think the sheets also should be changed??
Location is great, skiing was fantastic, but staffing not in place to efficiently handle large crowds on a warmer weather weekend. Luckily we rented equipment off-site as others had quoted 2.5 hours wait in line.
I was tubbing and it was an excellent experience, they are super tidy to speed up the process although there was not much help to slide people when launching, perhaps there was not enough staff the day I went, but in general it was nice
Could be better if put more security across the entire resort and parking on the lower side. Dont rely tje security on the employees on the zip line drop
Incredibly long queue to get in, a lot of very old and slow lifts, all the black runs were identical and the jumps in the park were poorly made. Only upside was that all the staff we interacted with were lovely. Once we finally got there we had a pleasant enough afternoon (helped that it took so long that we arrived in time for the cheap post 3pm lift passes) but probably wouldn't go back.
My family vacationed at Camelback last season. It took me half a year to write this review. This is why. We were in the lazy river, the dark, over crowded lazy river, when a young child (3 or 4) floated by face up underwater. 2 seconds of shock later, my husband grabbed the child and tried to give him to a lifeguard. The lifeguard did nothing. Nothing at all. My husband ran to get help. It was awful. We hope and pray the little boy made it ok. We don t know. Camelback has not been responsive to our inquires. Our family loves to ski, board and play in the water, but we won t go back to Camelback. I urge you to look for a resort with integrity where safety is valued and human life respected.
Had a great stay. Good snow. I really enjoyed skiing. My son took an individual and group snow board lesson which he enjoyed. We spent the rest of the time in the water park. It was a good 3 days.
There wasn't much shading area but overall the were alot of activities to do and my family really enjoyed themselves it was so much fun and i would definitely recommend going there
It was 7 adults and 1 toddler and we had the 3 bedroom condo. It was just as pictured each bedroom had a bathroom and the patio over looked the trees so we had a great breeze and view.
You will have to either dispose all of your food or go back all the way to your car, they wouldn't let you bring your own food, I only eat homemade! So I am suppose to stay hungry at your water park?! Stupid!
Great place to take the family, to go to the indoor water park and kick back and relax and enjoy the water rides and lazy river. They also have an indoor wave pool that the kids love. Prices are good and the hotel staff is great!
We stayed at The Village at Camelback through Airbnb in Townhouse number 123. It was really nice. Basic amenities. But everything that we needed was local and we went snow tubing for the Galactic Snow Tubing at Camelback. My kids LOVED it! They are 3 and 9 and had a blast. We would definitely go again!
Good slopes, but very overcrowded and fairly icy. Holiday fees were expensive ($70 for a single day lift pass) and that wasn't expressed online (to my knowledge). Would not go back during peak season, but a good resort overall.
I have gone twice and do not possess any other snow resort experience. My time at Camelback was always a good time, lifts had near perfect up-time, trails were great and varied, I've done most but the diamonds and most difficult blues. Sometimes you run across a patch of ice but otherwise most trails had either slightly packed snow or really fluffy powder. Only the green trails were getting a overly crowded but I'm told that's sometimes par for the course on long weekends. Prices aren't bad for someone who just recently got into snowboarding, and seem reasonable. Planning my next trip before the season is up!
Camelback Mountain Resort is a good place to have fun with your family and friends. There are many activities that are fun and enjoyable for you and your family.
Camelback is the best mountain for winter activities in the Poconos. I have been a long time pass holder and will continue to be as long as the prices don't continue to rise.
Prices were decent thanks to discount. Would recommend renting equipment somewhere else and bring your own food, the food is expensive especially for a small portion. But other then that the employee are helpful and nice.
Let me start off by saying the Camelback lodge and water park web site is very vague on what its doing for covid. when you call they say everything is open the website has pictures and videos saying everything is open it has pictures of the indoor waterbar portraying the illusion that everything is up and running, so they can continue to charge full price. Which is already over priced in the first place even if everything was open and in working order, but it isnt food is horrible and extremely overpiced. 35$ for a 4oz fatty slice of steak with a side of what equal to mcdonalds fries at trails end pub. Don't get me started on the water park... On their site it makes it seem like theres so many slides. 2 of the 8 are shut down the park is extremely understaffed, rusty pipes, and rusty fans everywhere. Parking is 25$ a day which they wont tell you they are charging you for until you see it on a bank statement. Breakfast in bed is $16 + taxes and fees a day per person...It doesn't get delivered to you in bed, and you pay that for some cheap pancakes and eggs and soggy bacon. The arcade spent 50 dollars and litterally played maybe 15 games and was out of credits. I can't name one thing i enjoyed about this vacation, and from talking to other guest no 1 else seemed very happy either. I get covid is going on but dont charge full price if 50% of your attractions are shut down. I basically payed a arm and a leg to lay in my hotel room every night and watched movies from my phone, and like everything else the tvs are messed up. The tv guide doesn't display anything that is on. 1 star rating.
