Review of today's visit.

Review of today's visit.
Ski resort opened for the season on Dec 18th. Today with our ticket in hand we were ready to conquer the slopes. But wait!
There was plenty of unpleasant surprises:
1. Parking is no longer free. Whoever came with that idea should check their facts. You will be forced to pay between $10 and $40 to park your car on the very same parking lot you have parked last year for free. No, there is no elevator to bring you up the level, no magic carpet ride.
2. Ticket in hand ($$$)- does not matter! You still need to stand on line with people that are buying tickets in person. There is no separate line to redeem your printed ticket for lift ticket. Waste of valuable time.
3. Planing on renting your equipment ?
Super, super, super - slow. There was one worker that was servicing 5 people in the time others were barely able to do 1 client. Another waste of time.
4. On the slop. You need to educate yourself before you get to the lift if the slope you want to use is open as there is no information available to you there - as per personel working - "you should know!"
Not the wises idea for a ski resort - someone will use to resorts disadventage !

Overal- overpriced, unorganized, uninformed ski resort. Not what is to be expected from the place that prides itself with opposites.
Wil certeinly visit other places before we think of returning to Camelback - unless there are huge improvement on those surprises above. It is good there is plenty of places to chose from!

I had a pretty mixed experience overall. I came here today (a Saturday in late March) as it seems to be the only place in the area that's still open with almost full snow coverage. I guess the resort should get some credit for still having a decent layer of snow this late in the season. The mountain has a good number of runs and an interesting looking terrain park. The view from the top is amazing! There were no issues with lines today. There's a lot of space on the beginner areas compared to other resorts. They seemed have a lot of different food options although I opted not to eat at the resort.

I am a relatively new skier but I found their green runs boring. I did enjoy the blues as they had pretty diverse terrain. Nile Mile was my favorite since it was a bit longer. Many of the runs seemed to end just when I was getting into them. I found the trail layout confusing with lots of intersections, branching, and merging and signage that was small and therefore difficult to see. The intersections also detracted from my enjoyment since I had to slow down and worry about merging/not getting hit so frequently. Also some of the green trails had large exposed patches of dirt or large rocks in the middle of the trail with no warning. It would be nice if they warned skiers to avoid the rocks at least.

There was a lot of trash on the mountain. A lot. I have been to 6 ski resorts this year and this one had by far the most litter. I was nervous about lifts after a chair fell off of one last week. Fortunately i didn't encounter any issues. Some of the lifts did look quite old with chipped black, rusty looking spots, and lots of bumpiness and odd noises coming from them.

I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to ski but I'd rate my overall experience as just okay. I didn't like the sketchy lifts, the trash, or having to pay for parking even though the space was far from the lodge. I'd come back if friends wanted to go but personally prefer Blue Mountain and Shawnee as these felt more natural and less like a snow covered tourist trap

The best skiing in the Poconos! Dont waste your time anywhere else. I have been skiing at every other mountain in the area, this year I tried camelback for the first time and now it's my favorite. The length of trails and range of difficulty will keep you entertained all day. They have a lot of high speed lifts so you get to spend more time doing what you paid for!! The beginner area is great for first timers, the magic carpet is long and well staffed to keep you safe. We go to the waterpark every summer, so it's neat to see all the rides still standing and covered in snow. Night skiing was great, the hotel and the tubing area all display cool lights!

The management of the resort is really disappointing, but skiing is decent once you get through super long lift lines.

I truly wish the staff were better educated about their own facilities, a little more motivated in helping customers and making check-in experiences more pleasant while braving the cold. Ugh.

Skiing was fun once we got on the slopes, but the wait times for lifts are way too long.

BOTTOM LINE: Check out nearby Shawnee instead where wait times are at most 10 minutes.

I am unclear how they can claim to be USA's #1 place to learn. They have what they call a school which unlike Mountain Creek and Hunter mountain does not cater to the level of the student. Either you are a beginner or you must take private lessons which I was told was $135 for an hour. No group lessons available for intermediate or advanced children Not much of a school if you ask me. I purchased the Superpass for my 10 year old and myself thinking it was the #1 place to learn for my child. For us it is vastly worse than Mounatain Creek and Hunter. Both of those programs have actual all day or half day programs for all levels. In my opinion that is the meaning of a "school" I asked for a refund as I felt they misrepresented the programming and was flatly denied. This place is not a good place to bring your kids if you want them to learn and grow as skiers or snowboarders in an actual school environment.

close to NYC and NJ. Room rentals kind of costly if you want to be very close to park. Options for budget conscious people just minutes (15 mins) away. Ski, snowboarding, and gear rentals are close by.

I went for snowboarding and had a good time. Most trails were a bit icy, but that's hardly their fault. The terrain park was well maintained. I didn't interact with employees aside from getting on the lift, but they were nice enough. The food is about what you would normally expect from a ski slope; pricey and unimpressive, but it does the trick. I got what I expected from the place and that's all I can really ask for.

Very fun to spend with the family, I recommend them, they are very friendly and the view outside the site is very nice.
Definitely loved my son's birthday present, we agreed to come back !!

I was hesitant to come to Camelback due to all the recent negative reviews about wait time and capacity. I came on a Thursday and it was such a great time. It wasn t crowded at all, no wait time longer than 1-2 minutes max to get on the lift at any of the lifts. Many didn t even have a line. Everyone was very spread out and I never felt annoyed or uncomfortable. Overall 10/10 experience. It seems like the key is to come during the weekday, not the weekend. Will stick with that plan from now on!

The mountain set up is great and amenities are never too far away. Sometimes not all chairlifts are used even if all trails are open. The terrain park was closed partially for unknown reasons while I was there. Worth a visit in a good snow day for sure.

I've been coming to the water park for years and it's always a great time! There's plenty of rides and activities and the mountains are so beautiful! The staff are always helpful and the park is always clean. I'd highly recommend this site for anyone looking for a fun day at the water park. I personally have never going skiing here, but I've heard great things.

Came here to ski on a Friday... Few of the lifts were closed and one popular trail closed and ungroomed. A lot of people for a weekday but overall had a pleasant time. Lines weren't too long even though the mountain seemed crowded.

I love camelback but they were absolutely mobbed during covid. They were probably running at capacity but when less than half the mountain is open that means it is way too crowded to be safe!

I have been coming here for 40 years. Everything is fine here, employeesare friendly. Very busy compared to other resorts around here. The ticket prices about fair but the $40 for parking is a bit excessive and not sure it is fair.

I've been going here for years and this year has got to be the worst for overcrowding. Don't get me wrong. Conditions have been good, but the 45 minute wait times to get on a lift are a bit much. Combine that with the complete lack of care for social distancing and the overcrowding it's been the least enjoyable year I've had here in the past 10 years. Shame on the new owners for allowing this extreme overcrowding

Wish I could give no stars horrible experience. Room wasn t ready until seven at night. It was dirty. Very understaffed barely saw any housekeepers. Long waits everywhere you went. This place has gone downhill in the past year we used to love coming. Heard they have new ownership. Well they definitely ran this place into the ground.

The 2 stars have nothing to do with the resort but the customer service at the lift ticket center. About a week ago my wife and I booked our trip and got all the details and prices and were on a fixed budget. When we got here they advised us that the prices had changed but not even the staff knew what the current prices were. I asked to speak to a manager because there was a misunderstanding on the prices for the lessons. Manager named Fred came up to the window with the worst attitude. Now I look young so im not sure if that had anything to do with it BUT I do not appreciate being spoken down to nor disrespected as Fred was raising his voice explaining the prices were the prices and that I would just have to pay them. When your wrong your wrong I would have been fine paying the price they were but what I dont appreciate is the disrespect. I may be one person but id never recommend anyone to come here unless you deal with someone else other than Fred. I hope no one has to go through that embarrassment in front of other guest as well as their family.

Presidents weekend was a nightmare. Understanding it's the busiest ski weekend of the year, but not having all their staff on and food stations open was a big mistake. Unable to handle the crowds.

Wasted the best ski day the Poconos has had in years at Camelback today. They closed their two main lifts due to high winds. There were two of those super old and slow 2 and 3 person lifts open with longs lines. One only went halfway up. After two runs we called the quits. All this after driving over an hour on snowy roads to get there. Big Boulder and Blue had their main lifts open today. Do yourself a favor and go to another resort if you want to enjoy some of the best snow conditions nature has to offer.

First it was a fun time me and my cousins really had fun in the arcade, water park and everything else but everything close to early and vallay was really bad they lost our car for almost a hour

IF YOU ARE EVEN SLIGHTLY CONCERNED ABOUT COVID, do not come here. I recommend Blue Mountain if anything. I went last weekend and my jaw dropped when I saw how many people were there. I waited in line for an hour at 10 am to get my lift tickets, which I purchased ONLINE. In addition to that, no enforcement of masks and I was shoulder to shoulder in line while waiting.

Then let s get to the actual lifts...huge lines and again shoulder to shoulder with people and no masks on. When I got onto a slope after 45 min wait on lift line, the slopes were just miserable trying to weave around people just sitting there on the slope. It looked like a battle field with the amount of people falling - this had to do with 1. HORRIBLE snow, all ice and 2. Only 3 slopes were actually open, so all beginners were on a Blue.

Wouldn t a sane resort think, Hm okay, with COVID spreading and the fact that we have only 2 slopes open, we should have people reserve tickets! Nope! Their response was to actually have more people on the mountain I ve ever seen. I get they want $ but look at other mountains - there is a responsible way to do this.

I have gone here since I was a kid. I will not be coming here for a LONG time, however. Go somewhere else actually worth your while and stay safe.

This is not my first visit to this park and probably won't be the last, my wife plus some members of her family spent the 4th of July weekend in the Poconos and had a good time at the park. There was a very large selection of The day we went the weather was NICE and the lines were very short so we ride most of the rides at the park .I loved the the wave pool were the waves are huge and came frequently, overall is a good and fun !!!

Bunch of crooks trying to shake every dollar out of you. I got my 6 year old a 90 minute lesson for 50 dollars. They forced me to buy a full lift ticket for $55 even though she wasn't going on the lift and she would only be there for the 90 minutes and the little hill. It's disappointing, I grew up learning to ride on this mountain, my kids won't be going here again.

We went to the outdoor water park. It was a nice place but as with all places like that it was way overcrowded. By the time you gk t thru a line you were dry and overheated. Also they made my mother pay full price even though she clearly couldnt be going in the water. As with most parks the food and drink prices were absurd and they check your bags before your allowed in and take anything you brought from outside. Overall I now agree when the locals told us its a tourist trap. I would try one of the other water parks in the area.

Great place for full day of fun. It's about 1.5 hours away from New York City. You may need to come early as the parking lot is filled up quickly. Many lessons offered to small kids to adults. Snowtubing is also fun, and there is a shuttle between ski area and snowtubing area.
