Great place to spend an afternoon; the whole place is an adventure. I wasn't expecting to go to an aquarium in the middle of LA (let alone without paying a load of money), but it was a wonderful surprise.

the center is fine and 4 to 5 stars but the King Tut exhibition worth to see but the $29 are way to much for those two levels of exhibition. plus the order of which exhibition should be seen first should be reversed. First they show you the finding not answering any question when where and how discovered and second exhibition finally shows when where and how. IMAX movie can be seen before hand too, suggested.

I only went for Space Shuttle and found out they had a Gemini, Mercury and Apollo craft as well. Space Heaven. They also have the only remaining Shuttle Huge Orange External Tank. Fantastic

Amazing place for everyone who love exploring about science. Suitable for family and kid. Ticket is free but if you want to see the Endeavour, ticket is $3... pretty cheap. Their small aquarium is awesome. Sometimes they have exhibitions and events, which you can update about them on their website. overall this is one of my favorite place in LA!!

It's free and fantastic. Good for all ages, though they do have one of those kid zones. A lot of interactive and engaging exhibits , not just placards and museum pieces (plenty of those too tho). And now with Endeavor... Great museum.

Amazing exhibits that stands face to ecosystems. Does have a bit more of a space and Aviation slant. Absolutely stunning to see the space shuttle up close. Will be an absolute Wonder to see once they are able to mount it in their new installation operate with the booster. Highly recommended for any signs meaning adults and any child over 6 or even 3 due to the interesting exhibits

Would be zero stars. They have an exhibit featuring live chicks and after they hatch, they are killed and they start the entire process over again. Sickening. Hundreds of chicks killed for a display. You can teach the same thing with a video.

Why 1 star? Because as much as I loved the exhibits and how many things they offer, I won't be going back for 1 reason.
It was so crowded, you either had to get in line to do anything and most stuff was hard to see for the same reason. The exhibit of king tut brought us here for a 2nd time and it was the biggest disappointment of my life. I'm pretty sure they oversell their tickets, because it was so crowded I barely got to see anything. My family and I were stepped on, even pushed.i swear there was more than 50 people in the tiny rooms trying to see the same thing as us.
I'm never going back here, I promise myself to support more small and local museums.

The following pics were of the exhibit. The 1st one I took before the start so it wasnt as crowded as the end. The 2nd its one of the blurry pics I got because I was able to sneak my phone between people. Sadly those pics I got will help me remember what was there because it was impossible to enjoy.
This museum only cares about money your money, they don't care about you.

I went here on a school trip. It was rlly fun and not busy at all. Parking was easy to find. The center has its own parking lot at I think you have to pay about $7.00 but it is worth it! Overall it was rlly great. It also has a theater!

Vast repository of scientific and historic artifacts. The King Tut exibit is a chilling and eye opening view of a highly developed culture. Magnificent pieces of art which cause one to ponder humanities origins and achievements over the last 2000 years.

The Dog Exhibit was extremely underwhelming. It s definitely not something that s going to take all day to see. Could ve been better, it felt like it was put together very fast and sloppy. The space shuttle exhibition was awesome though.

California Science Center is a large, diverse space dedicated to science and learning. Free to enter (donations are welcome), it has everything from touch pools and fish to rooms that show animals of the desert. There are many interactive exhibits, which is good for children and fun for adults. The Space Shuttle has a fee and is an additional exhibit, but the majority of the California Science Center is free.

This place gets busy, and early (probably because it's free), and it's not as cohesive as the Natural History Museum.

Pro tip - f you're looking for food, there is a full "food court" by the rear entrance of the center.

Entry is free. Also hosts the endeavor space shuttle for a $2 ticket. Food court on level 1. And lots of space to eat outside as well. Next to the Rose garden and Natural History museum. Has 3 sections to explore Physics, ecosystems and world of life. Also has exhibits of the space capsule. You can also watch a 3D IMAX movie to explore the frontiers of space.

Lots of educational interactive activities for inquiring minds. The models of space capsules are impressive, the interactive activities of how solar energy works is very appealing. Youth get an opportunity to actually have hands on experiences with the effects of wind on sailing, how solar energy works by guiding a model solar powered car around a small (estimated 25 ft. ) track. There s a great display about jelly fish, the exhibitor has large magnifying glass, flash lights and various facts about jellyfish that you can actually see ( like the food that jelly fish eat that s invisible to our eyes). The exhibitor had a large plush toy jellyfish in which she utilized to identify parts of the jellyfish and demonstrated how they eat, the parts of the jellyfish body that stings. The exhibitor also explained the movement of the jelly fish, where they live (their environments) and what happens to them if they are washed adore on the beach. The youngsters loved this exhibit. The youngsters all wanted photos in front of the moon jellyfish. Many of the youth were observed requesting samples of the jellyfish on display that appeared to glow in the dark (live jellyfish are NOT AVAILABLE for sale).
Another exciting opportunity was the actual touching of various things like sea stars, sea weed, baby fish, muscles, etc. There were opportunities to see live divers cleaning the huge fish tanks as the fish swam around in the pool/tank. The divers even talked with the children during a special demonstration and was available for photos after leaving the tank. Displays for students to build various things, several hands on experiments with magnetic items & experiments with how sound travels. Lots of hands on experiments! Many youth also enjoyed the 50 ft model of the human body and the mini movie of how the body actually works!!! Highly recommended for the Science buff children in your family. No admittance fee but there is a fee for special exhibits such as the Endeavour exhibit & the IMAX theater & of course parking.

Came as part of a school field trip. Most of the interactive exhibits do not work. They have a full service cafe but do not allow drinks to be taken ANYWHERE in the building including the gift shop. Definitely would not come back. Much better options in California.

Parking was priced at 12$, we took imax tickets for watching the movie " A touch of stars" It was amazing the 3d and effects. My son enjoyed it a lot and it was very informative. We were around 5 people it costed 35$ and came with a free admission for endeavor space shuttle. It was really so big and surreal to watch an actual space thing. The space merchandise was available near space shuttle and we brought few souvenirs. The other exhibits were also good, this is a place that kids will enjoy learning while playing.

I'm from a city with a very good science center, but the California Science Center is one of my favorite places to visit when I come to LA. The exhibits are fantastic and you can't beat that it's free to the public. It's a model that I wish was more prevalent.

We got to see the King Tut exhibit this time around and have visited the Endeavor before as well as the rotating Pixar exhibit when it was there.

Great place for kids and family. Here you can explore the wonders of science through interactive exhibits, live demonstrations, and films. The Space Shuttle Endeavour and aquarium are wonderful. Admission: free, parking: $12 and food court offers lot of delicious food that cost around $10-15 per person. Nearby area also has lot of interesting places like Rose Garden, Museums...

I love the science center. I have been attending this facility for as long as I can remember. The whole aura of it is friendly and the workers are the nicest people I have met. I really like the exhibits they have, my favorite has to be the aquarium, but their special exhibits are also wonderful(I'm especially fond of their pixar exhibit). I also enjoy the hands on activities that take place throughout the whole place. I just really love living near a place like this and hope to keep coming back.

Love the environment, lively. SCUBA divers point out fish in a multi-story kelp forest tank while a docent talks to a seated audience. Two shows every day. Technology exhibits. Environmental/Climates rooms (desert, swamp, etc). NASA's Endeavor' in huge space hall exhibit. Too many exhibits for this review. All good. Some interactive. Fees for some exhibits and shows. Mostly free. Food is so-so. Kids love it.
