I am very disappointed with Cal fit because of the way they are handling Covid-19 and treating their customers during this uncertain time. When I got the news that they are reopening, I tried to get in contact with someone to cancel, due to financial hardship, but found it to be impossible. The email they sent, said to call the corporate office or email them with any cancellation questions. If you call, the cancellation department does not pick up and the voicemail box is full. If you email, you just recieve a generic autoreply. So I tried calling every other department only to have the same issue. The only department that answered was the delinquent payment department. I understand their priorities now. The only important thing to Cal fit is getting their money, so of course the only department answering the phone is the one collecting money from late payments. I talked to a staff member named Andre, who had nothing but attitude when I told him that I needed to cancel. He said I would be charged $300 for cancelling even though I'm facing financial hardship. I stated again that I am unable to afford the fee and the monthly memebership and may not be able to pay rent if I pay this fee. He responded by reminding me that Covid-19 was not Cal Fit's fault and my only options were to temporarily freeze my account which only defers the cancellation fee or resume the monthly membership. I then asked to speak to a supervisor. He transferred me, but it went to voicemail. It has been a week and I still haven't received a call back from the supervisor. Calfit's policies and practices right now are predatory and criminal because they are are clearly taking advantage of people to make more money during this pandemic. I never expected this type of treatment from Cal Fit. When my financial security returns to normal, I will never return to Cal Fit because of their unprofessionalism and greed during this difficult time.
