Every time we go here, it's an amazing treat. I had the artichoke croquettes, and there was a little bit of every flavor on my plate. Delicious! My husband had the summer ravioli, and it's basically wizardry how they make the pasta and sauces so perfectly. Both meals were vegan, and both were decadent. Can't recommend enough.

Very good food. We had the wontons as a table which was one of the best appetizers I have ever had. Out of a group of six, we ordered six different entrees that were all delicious. Everyone cleaned their plates. We then split two desserts that were both phenomenal. Highly recommended!

A great place to go for veggies! My parents and I went here and enjoyed the dishes we got. I didn't feel like anything was amazing or to die for. From the time we sat down, I was eyeing the dessert tray that the waiters would bring out to show and describe the different desserts. Unfortunately, my dessert was pretty anticlimactic since I ended up getting something I wasn't too fond of either which was a definite bummer. I would still give it another chance since there were other promising dishes on the menu. Oh! And one more thing, it's pricey, for three people we spent over $90 which included an appetizer, a drink, three entrees and two desserts.

Consistently delicious veggie options with an intimate atmosphere and excellent service. Just celebrated our anniversary there on Valentine's Day and their special menu for the occasion was sublime...each new course more exquisite than the one before. This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle.

My girlfriend and I came here for breakfast, the staff didn't acknowledge us despite walking past us multiple times at an unmanned host station. We then waited forty five minutes to get cold, under seasoned food, while being virtually ignored by our waitress despite the low patronage.

I love(d) this restaurant. At I ve point my husband and I were coming every other Saturday for a few months. Our favorite dinner entrees are the Italian burger, seasonal polenta, and mushroom French dip. We love the fried avocado and pate appetizers. We ve celebrated birthdays here and have recommended this restaurant to vegetarian friends, vegan friends and carnivores. We ve recently had a few experiences that were not consistent with the quality we ve come to enjoy and expect.
January 2019: group of 7 to celebrate husband s birthday. He ordered the Italian burger. When it came out on a pita and not a burger bun, he kindly questioned the server helping our table s server, as he was expecting a burger thought it was the wrong dish.
In response-
The server assisting our own: yea, we serve it with a pita.
H: I ordered a burger...
Server: no, we serve it with a pita.
H: I ve ordered this before. It comes on a bun.
Server: we ran out of buns. we re serving it with a pita.

Rather than arguing, the server should have said from the beginning they were out of buns. Or when it became known the restaurant was out of buns, it would have been nice to know.

March: very dry, tasteless Italian burger.

May 2019: i ordered vegan spring polenta and husband ordered the Italian burger w avocado. First, my husband s burger was delivered to the table immediately behind us. A few minutes later the error was realized and the burger was sent back to the kitchen. A few minutes later the burger re-appears and is correctly delivered to our table. Our server informs us my vegan polenta was made with cheese and the kitchen would remake it but the server didn t want the burger to get cold. The burger and fries were already cold. We sent it back. My polenta and the burger came out at the same time but the burger that was supposed to be made vegan came out with cheese. They whisked away the burger to be remade. When it finally came out for the it was hot and perfectly made.

My polenta was good but honestly I couldn t enjoy it with everything we experienced at our table that evening. And I was very dissatisfied that the dish that supposedly included mushrooms came out with just .25 of a small mushroom. So disappointing. I mentioned it to my server and the response was it s not a mushroom dish. It s a spring vegetable dish. Ok, I get it. Still a bummer.

I know restaurants have their off nights, we all do. However, the last few visits have seemed to all have had something off about them. Our server last night comped the burger, which was appreciated and the right thing to do.

All in all, last night was disappointing for all of the reasons listed but also because my husband and I wanted to have a nice dinner *together* and we ate almost completely separately.

We ll be back because most times the food and atmosphere are very pleasant and worthy of five-stars.

Cafe Flora is a lovely restaurant with a garden feel. The menu has diversity and hits many popular favorites. We tried the oyster mushroom and leek pizza on the gluten free crust and it was tasty. The use of crushed almonds was particularly interesting. We also had the burger and sweet potato fries which met expectations. We finished it off with golden milk tea.

This place is great for any vegetarians or vegans. I come here with my mom almost every weekend. We live vegan and we love coming here. Plenty of vegan options. Very kid friendly. I would reccomend the scrambles they have tofu scrambles too.

I went to Cafe Flora a couple weeks ago for the first time and was very impressed. Not only is their environment really beautiful and welcoming, but the food was amazing. It makes me sad that that the avocado toast with Heirloom Tomatoes and balsamic is only seasonal, it was to die for!! We may have even ordered a seconded order (and by "we" I mean just me). They have a wide array of really lovely drinks, both with alcohol and not. Kelly was our server and they were very attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, and rolled with my friend's quirky sense of humor really well! In fact, everyone there from the host, to the bartender, to the baristas, to our server was exceptional. I will definitely be returning.

Only had the Loaded nachos and the wing trio but they where good. The vibe of the workers seemed like they weren't too thrilled to be working there though. The place looks nice from the inside and outside and the food is good but the overall experience is just ok.

Good vegetarian food. Lots of vegan options. Nice quality ingredients that are locally sourced. I personally loved their tofu scramble (the substitute for their eggs). Very filling food and the portions are good in size. It's a super busy place.

Absolutely amazing! The place is adorable, and the food is fantastic! I'm not a vegetarian, but I still enjoyed it immensely. So flavorful and fresh! I will definitely be going back, and I highly recommend it to others.

Food was good. We had the portobello sandwich with yam fries, curried chick pea soup, risotto, house salad. It was all tasty and good. We finished the meal with the pear crisp which was delicious. The hot toddy was excellent too. They have outdoor tents with seating. The order is placed at the counter and they bring the food to the table. Enjoyable.

Whatever Happened to Cafe Flora?

Whatever Happened to Cafe Flora?

As a previous vegetarian and a committed foodie, I used to love Cafe Flora. I've been there many times over the years, ever since they opened. I went this week-end with a friend after not having been in a while (a couple of years at least) and couldn't believe it was the same place.

I got one of their standard brunch scrambles. The eggs must have been sitting out awhile, as they were borderline rubbery; the beans were under-cooked and flavorless; the "queso fresco" was literally like a half teaspoon of powder sprinkled over the eggs, I could barely taste it (or find it); and the "blue corn tortilla chips" were as small as fingernail clippings! I'm sure they were supposed to look like confetti but again, they were hardly there, and what was there was like cardboard. The cheesy grits were decent but the overall serving size was small and the prices haven't gone down, trust me. This is food for people who simply aren't hungry -- and I was!

The atmosphere is still lovely, and the service is good. I just couldn't believe the poor quality, flavor, and presentation of the food. (My friend left half her quiche on the plate, too.) Really disappointing.

Even as a meat-lover I found plenty of offerings in this quintessential Seattle eatery. And, with impressive flora & atmosphere, it s a great cafe for residents in the area with demanding work to get your creative juices flowing

A culinary masterpiece! The flavors are so exquisite and satisfying! I started with the watermelon & basil fizz and it was so refreshing. It was my first time here and everything on the menu looked so good! I chose the polenta for my dish....I'm pretty sure I had an out of body experience where I was looking down on myself eating the polenta and it was fricking incredible. I will absolutely be back over and over again.

Unfortunately, while I thoroughly appreciated the staff and there was a lovely interpersonal experience, the venue ran out of several if their menu choices, and our food took an exponentially long amount of time to receive. (An hour and some change.) While I'm sure during non peak hours this venue would be lovely, I can't suggest you go during a time it would be considered terribly busy.

Though to their benefit, even as someone who doesn't generally eat their veggies, so to speak, I still found some non-meaty thing in the menu that we're absolutely delicious.

What a letdown. I haven't been to Cafe Flora in ~10 years even though we live close by (and are vegetarians), so I thought I would take my son since he has never been there. First, it took them over 5 minutes to acknowledge us at the hostess stand, and we were the only ones waiting there. Generally the service was slow, including the table service. While friendly, the server didn't even come back to check on us after our food was delivered. Second, the food was very overpriced for the quantity received ($15 for the Superfood salad which was mostly lettuce, kale and cabbage - with a few pieces of fruit and some almonds). And it was basic, not outstanding in any way. We won't be returning.

I am not a vegetarian, however, I chose this place for the very interesting menu and how they combine different ingredients. Heard its great for brunches, but I had a late lunch, selected a quinoa stone fruit salad with some magical dressing. It was delicious does not even cut it; really well balanced, flavors not over powering but yet taste-able. I was eyeing bunch of other things like the italian burger, and the yam fries (the table next to me ordered and they were all Oooing over them). Did not expect to be blown away at all. The desert was lackluster unfortunately, but such as life! Looked great but taste wise not quite there. Very pleasant nice service. The interior is also lovely, sat on the semi-open patio side which has a water feature in the center. Very zen and just perfect feature, goes well with the vibe and energy of the place. Please go when you are not in a rush and can fully enjoy the fountain, the light, and of course the nourishing food. Enjoy!

I usually love this place, but an attempted gaslight by an employee is not what I would call exceptional service.

When you bring out the wrong order that's not a big problem, it's an easy fix, but don't try to charge for the wrong order, and then make the party paying feel like it's their fault that something went wrong.

I'll be back. But I'll just be more picky about who's serving my table.

Had never tried a Vegan restaurant before, but was incredibly impressed with this place. Caesar salad was excellent, paired with a nice beer recommendation from our server (David, I believe). On service, it was impeccable. Never had to ask for a thing, and he even quickly slipped me the bill and closed us out while my date had stepped away for a few moments. Perfection. Thank you again, will return and recommend!

Delightful balance of heavy and light foods, scrumptious veggies and hearty comfort foods, too. Can be a wait during popular times, wish they took reservations, but that also means that with a little patience, you can always get a table.

Beautiful atrium for dining. Next to the fountain is the best seat in the house for two. Very romantic!

I ordered the SOUTHERN PLATTER with seasoned tofu scramble, smoked collard greens and housemade rosemary biscuit with Vegan country gravy, and a side of Sweet Potato Chowder. And, minus all the bacon fat and cream in the original Southern style Scrambled Eggs and Collards with Biscuits and Gravy, this is reminiscent of the Texas Country style comfort food my father would cook up when I was a child, except this was a flavor bomb. I can only describe the experience as a blissfully delectable culinary masterpiece.

CAFE FLORA is as good as they say it is. It is the real deal. Cafe Flora is truly an exceptional five-star restaurant that delivers phenomenal world-class vegetarian cuisine. The best vegetarian restaurant I've ever been to and I've been a vegetarian for twenty-eight years, and been all over North America. My complements to the chef for an exquisite meal and thank you to the staff for an amazing dining experience.

Cafe Flora defeated my family. We went for my sister and brother-in-law's anniversary, so I expected it would take longer since we were a big group. We waited for drinks, no big deal, it wasn't that long. They had a kids play area, which was nice, because we waited for a while for our order to be taken. We then waited 45 minutes for good, during which time we were given no updates, explanation, or apology. Also during which time my toddler lost it because it had been so long.

We get the food, it was good, not great. My risotto was honestly a little bland. My husband said the pizza was better. Going to a restaurant with a toddler is challenging, I get it. But when you have to wait so long for food without explanation or an offer to at least push out the kids food it turns into a disaster. I felt defeated and horrible after our meal there, and feel like the staff had done nothing to help make it a pleasant experience, but provided the bare minimum the whole time. I get that groups are challenging, I get that sometimes the kitchen implodes... But eff, guys. Just...eff.

I am a vegetarian and generally am limited by the food options when I go out to eat. I don't enjoy impossible vegan stuff because it feels like I am eating meat. However, this is an amazing place. So many options to choose from and everything in the menu is delicious. I tried french dip sandwich and it's the best sandwich I ever had. Mind you it tastes best with the dip they give. Heavenly! PS - I generally don't write reviews and not a connoisseur of any sorts. But it had to be posted. Also it's vegan friendly. Just in case you were wondering
