I don't think it's fair to have 80SEK/hour parking fee with minimal amount of 40 SEK when you need to park for 5 minutes to pick up your passengers. Other people think the same as I, this is why they are not paying. Instead of understanding that and making change you bring parking guards every 30 minutes to give tickets. Arlanda is the first thing you see in Sweden and the way they make money on parking and parking tickets will make you feel you're somewhere in 3rd world's corrupted country, where stupid rules are made only to lure more money. PS: no, I didn't get ticket from you, I'm just another person that wants to highlight how wrong you guys are.

Extremely boring, ugly and expensive airport. Prices are very high if you just want a beer, light bite etc. Swedavia has really tricked on the cost of all companies in the area.
Open and nice with many, expensive eateries, got. Would stay overnight at "rest and fly" but very poor information on where it was low. Got to ask me out. There was no signage there.
Friendly but in my point of view a bit wrong structured. The terminals are in one line and if you arrive for example in Terminal 3 it s a long walk to Terminal 5. Security control is fast. A lot of shops are available where you can spend your time before boarding.
Arlanda feels safe to fly to and from. Many alternatives to get to Stockholm, bus, train and taxi. Well-cleaned and clean toilets. Easy to find and very well signposted. What hinders the 5th star are the insanely high prices of food and drink.
This was the WORST airport I have ever experienced! Starting from the check-in desk to the passport check everybody was extremely rude and unprofessional. I have never experienced a country with the overall worst and rudest airport employees until today. I should mention that I was traveling to Heathrow in terminal 2.
This airport needs a makeover and fast!! Looks and feels dated! Nevertheless has all the amenities which one needs! Let s see how fast things change here ... happy flying
Yes but yes but Yes I would probably say it but yes but Yes or yes Yes but yes but yes Yes or yes but Yes but Yes but yes it can always happen but Yes or yes Yes A little Say like that but still Yes it was not so playful though Well it was a bit rude not particularly poggers lol pogchamp
It can be quite difficult to navigate. You need to either know it, or ask a staff for direction. It's hard to figuring out the way yourself in the first time, especially when you are in a hurry.
I'm really surprised at how bad the service culture field staff has. Our youngest hit his head at a sharp metal table at the exit gate. I went to seek help, but none of the staff in the area was bothered to help. The security staff of the port asked to go to the side waiting for them, without any move to get help. After waiting for a few passengers to be checked, I asked for help again. The person had clearly decided not to help us. From the counter they were instructed to seek help from the machine when they got there when there is no first aid kit on the counter. You should have called 112 for assistance. We were at a gate with a separate inspection. There was no way to get help elsewhere. In the second direction, the rude operating model only emphasized. No question was answered. Not even a security check that needs to be lifted to the strap. It was only quickly passed through and dreadfully pointed out when the child did not work properly. I assumed that the machine would be replaced internally from one local company to another quickly but not. Was passed through a security check with only one line! The Oslo riders would have been late if they were not allowed to queue in the queue. It took us over an hour to get through the queue. Reserve at least 2 h in Arland to exchange the machine. Really inflexible staff. Even a small child's head does not allow staff to change their routine, even compared to asking for a first aid group if they do not have the opportunity to help. This applies to the staff of the field's own staff and the field service subcontractors. The authorities and the store staff were friendly. I do not want to change the plane anymore.
Nice, clean and spacious airport (Terminal 5). They have so many food options including gluten free sandwiches (YAY). Also they have so many seats here!
Finding the right bus to the right rental car company is almost impossible. These are about a 10-minute drive from the airport. SIXT is approached with another shuttle bus. Very bad signage.
No one speaks in Spanish. I had to help a grandpa at door 18, the security staff does not speak Spanish and they speak very bad English. Mr. did not understand anything and I tried to help him and forbade me to help Mr. Nothing courtesy and zero empathy with Latinos. It seems to me that if they work at an airport they should know more languages like Spanish! Less discrimination and more consideration.
World class in bad service, disqusting and filthy urin stinking restrooms as always at Arlanda where hygiene seems rated very low. Rude non attentive security staff without even basic knowledge in the swedish or english language. We also travelled as a couple but with two separate reservations but checked in together but they still a misstake at check in giving us separated seats. All in all, a nasty experience.
Although it is the largest airport in Sweden, it is very small, dark and rather dirty. Because of the discomfort in the room, people become more nervous. All Swedish hospitality increases upon entering the airport. Local staff can be rude in some places. If you need additional assistance in the form of a wheelchair, be prepared to stand with it with other passengers in the same line, since at the airport, except for business and first class, everyone is served the same. If you come here by train, then be prepared to pay an extra CZK 50 upwards on your train ticket. Have a good flight.
Nothing to complain about. Nothing to be hilarious about. Serves great, I am sure, now, with covid freaking out, all flights are squeezed in one, 5th terminal, shops have quite narrov sortiments, but that may change after this.
Easy and easy to check in and get past the security check which does a good job at Arlanda. The range of food and coffee places is well catered for. The amount of shops and duty free is totally ok throughout the facility.
A sprawling, modern airport that's clean, comfortable, and has decent amenities. Some of the service can be rocky, but security is surprisingly friendly (and fast). It's far from the city but several good connections by train or bus.
A very ill-conceived signage scheme for transit passengers! This is the first time I've met this) when you dock a flight for 30 minutes, you really won't have time to figure it out!
Why have a modern airport with a wifi from the early 2000s? Their free wifi cuts 2mb / s up and 4mb / s down. Fucking bad and sad when waiting here in x number of hours.
In addition, the prices here are adapted for norway. Loose candy for 140 SEK / kg is still a little good
please, a little better / MVH N'Gabbr Machad Hussein
Nice airport with different and cosy cafes and restaurants. Information at check in could be clearer and the people working visibly in the check in area should know the basics, sometimes they seem a bit confused. Except for the crazy prices it's one of the best airports I have been to.
Very good place as always, even better now in these Corona Times so everything goes smoothly and quickly, no long queues either. However, the elevator was broken but you could walk around so there was no danger.
Very confusing airport especially if you arrive around midnight. The information desk closed at least 30 mins before it should. And to get an Uber it took 1 hour.
Seems renovated but still small and old. 30 seating place for an 200 people aircraft. People have to sit on the ground while waiting their aircraft. Very few eating options. The boy on the checking line directs you to self check-in machines although you say you prefer to use check-in desk. Check-in machines not working and you are coming back to check-in queue. If you are coming to airport by train you have to wait at some sort of desk so that a lady at the desk manually checks if your train ticket includes a strange "airport fee". Only then they open the door for you to go to airport. Arcaic methods from last century. They are probably not aware we are in 2019 and technology evolved. Passport check-in at arrivals hall is a nightmare. It's a mess. Queues for European and non-European passports are next to each other with no visible separation. People are waiting at the wrong queue. 3 passport personnel works for 500 people thus 90 minutes waiting time. Hopefuly passport control personnel is friendly. In short, if you want to live an 1990's experience no need for time machine, go to Stockholm Arlanda airport.
Terminal 5 has Sky City which is well surrounded by shops and restaurants of your choice something that I liked most...! Ate at Sky Grill several times and enjoyed their food!
Flights to UK go from Gates F which have there own security. When you reach your gate you go thru passport control again with boarding pass into separate lounge area. When time to board we didn't even need to show passes again.
Loos are cleaned pleasant- what a difference to UK airports.
Some people say Seedish staff are cold. My opinion is that they are helpful if you need them but not waste time with false friendliness. No problems with staff.
Travel to/from Stockholm either via Arlande Express (22 mins) or SL train (48 mins). Quiet a difference in price so if you have the time get the SL train.
Commuter train ticket to/from the airport - ca. 15 euros, express train - 30 euros. Nooope! In Helsinki and Copenhagen - it hovers around 5 euros.
You might wonder what has gone wrong here? The service does not explain it, it s not better. Just pure greed to ask for an outrageous airport tax. The airport in general is less organised and pleasant than Helsinki airport and the employees are more rude and less professional.
While just passing by a wine sales point to examine the offerings (out of curiosity as someone who is into wines), I got approached by an employee who first asked me what can he help me with (I said nothing) and then proceeded to tell me that I cannot buy alcohol anyway because I m traveling within the EU. First of all, the customer service aspect? I made it clear that I m not looking for help and then, totally unsolicited, the employee goes that I can t buy anything anyway? Normally, a salesperson who approaches you, they are annoying, but they would at least inform you about what you CAN buy, right? But when I am being told unsolicited that I CAN T buy anything, I will be doubly as annoyed and sure as hell press the red sad face on the how did we succeed in customer service today machine.
Why such a restriction on EU flights would be on place, I will never know, I assume it s because of the ridiculous nanny state laws in Sweden. I know for a fact you can purchase alcohol freely for EU flights in other EU countries.
The shopping options are decent but expensive, especially for food (a hot dog on the go at ~ 1 is possible). The airport is well organized and easy to navigate. The lighting is soft, the decoration is elegant and the atmosphere remains calm despite the high attendance. I do not know, however, where night travelers could sleep - the benches are hard, uncomfortable and easy to slide.
Stockholm Arlanda Airport is an overall pleasant airport. Like most, there are negative sides but here the good ones outweigh the good ones.
First and foremost, it is easy to navigate, this can be done through, for example, paintings, information boards and staff who are always available to show the way.
Furthermore, the airport has plenty of tax-free options, which is appreciated by fellow travelers when traveling. Everything from skin care products to sweets, jewelry to travel books can be purchased in any of the stores.
Another good thing about Arlanda is the possibility to travel by train from Stockholm Central Station directly to the airport, then the train stops in the basement of Arlanda, very smoothly.
If we are to mention the negative with Stockholm Arlanda, which means that the airport does not receive five stars in ratings, is the following;
- The largest long-term car park is a short distance from the airport itself, which means that you have to take a bus from the car park to the respective departure hall. This is free of charge but quite cumbersome as with large suitcases, screaming siblings and sub-zero temperatures outdoors you like to see that the airport is adjacent to the parking lot.
- The price of parking. Arlanda is, together with Gothenburg Landvetter, two of the world's most expensive airports in terms of vehicle parking. This can quickly land in several thousand dollars.
- High prices inside the airport. A cheese / ham sandwich with a 33 cl soft drink lands in round slings of about 80 SEK. May seem quite okay by some while others consider it expensive.
In summary, however, the airport has good skills with fresh surfaces, recommend!
Arlanda airport is far away from Stockholm city and not connected with standard public transport so that you have to pay an additional fee to get into the city. The catering is well even if you travel with a family but again it is very expensive.
