Unfortunately, long and inefficient queues wherever you go. And barely any consideration is taken of families with children. Believe that they are prioritized only in sex to the security check. Letting people with strollers and crying toddlers wait in the snail queue is just hard for everyone!

Compared to many other airports, Arlanda is really pretty neat, clean and beautifully designed; lots of light and many spots where you can sit comfortably and connect to the free wireless service as well. The airport is also quiet since there are no loudspeaker announcements for the flights. The main 'hub' for restaurants, shopping and services is Sky City which also offers a great view through the glass wall facing the runways.

Price level for food and drink is ridiculously high, even considering this is (kinda) the Stockholm area. Best value for the money are the Swedish Max hamburger joints; they have also very decent sallads so it's not just burgers on the menu. Way tastier than McDonald's, whatever you choose.

It's easy to get to and from the airport; both a frequent airport coach service and the (pretty fast) airport train Arlanda Express are available. The coach is okay and way cheaper than Arlanda Express. There is also a regular train station at the airport; you go way down from SkyCity to the trains.

Pretty decent as airports go, however if you're travelling through T2, be aware that the shopping options after security are pretty limited.
The Aurora Lounge however is definitely one of the best I have been to: it's massive and has great services.

On my outward bound journey the check-in server had crashed and people had to wait hours for them to fix it, meaning some missed flights. On my return journey there was no-one at the immigration desks, meaning people had to wait for half an hour just for a member of staff to be bothered to turn up. And then they had the nerve to harass passengers for voicing there frustration!! Empty immigration desks seem to be a reoccurring theme as well.

This place has become really bad lately! Lack of full scope self-service upon check-in (unless you are flying SAS...), only couple of toilets across the whole airport, always crowded of course, but main issue is lack of any descent space at the gates. No space for queuing and luggage, just shops and restaurants coming with crowds of people, sloely moving around.
This is supposed to be an airport and not a shopping mall or place for socialising.
Shape up guys!

Nice and clean airport. Good connection flights and also good access to Swedish public transport. The staff are nice and helpful. Just a bit big and tricky on the first visit. Shops and cafes close before the last flights leave so be prepared!

Nice, clean and friendly airport, but if the five star standard is Tallinn Lennart Meri airport, then Arlanda airport is boring - clean, but boring. At least at the terminal 5, but I understand its the smaller terminal with fewer options to do. Thank you anyway :)

Really struggling with how to review Arlanda. Clean, simple facilities, and getting to our tightly scheduled connecting flight wasn't going to be bad at all - if it weren't for the TERRIBLE service, particularly at the Aviator and Norwegian desks. Haughty, rude, mean, and unprofessional are all words that come to mind - I know this isn't even close to representing the whole of wonderful Sweden, but I expected more from Swedish hospitality here. Also slightly dark and dingy in some areas, but overall the actual structure is pretty good.

The security process is old fashioned and too slow. Today it took an hour to get through security as it was undertsaffed and running at 30% capacity. The food options are too expensive and the gate areas suffer from insufficient seating. I will choose Bromma for my future business trips - even if this means having a stop-over.

Arlanda Airport is one of the better airports in the Nordic countries - everything is nice and clean. The price level of the shops is somewhat high and the range is very small. There are reasonable options for eating, however, you could wish for a slightly higher level of food. I'll be back again

Far outside, confusing, long waiting times at the check-in, completely overpriced gastronomy (89 crowns for a dry sandwich!), Aisles narrow, on which even the people have to wait for the entrance. Even Berlin-Tegel seems even more pleasant to me

Nice airport. People here talk english well so, it's easy to communicate with others. Taxis take around 300-500 sek (30-40$) from Kista to reach here. The only problem is weather, which is mostly rainy since you are in Stockholm. Rest all is awesome.

Extremely disorganized and bad service. Lines to immigration are random and disorganized. Staff at the security check mishandle your expensive laptop, putting other passengers stuff on top of it and don't stop the conveyor belt so that the containers flip over and your stuff falls down on the floor. First impression was the worst airport I've been to, and I've been to 20+ and am swedish... EDIT: And now it looks like the morons lost my luggage as well.

Huge airport. Unfortunately sometimes a better signage is missing. We missed the turnoff to Tansferbus and had to go through the security check again. But since we had enough time, that was not a problem. Huge shopping mall and many shops but unfortunately not necessarily cheap.

It s much better than the Charles de Gaulle airport. It s a good night s sleep at the airport, and it s great to catch the plane at 7:00 the next day. It was halfway through the quarrel with my boyfriend and the travel companion, and there was a small emotion, very embarrassing.

It is a huge airport; It doesn't look good from the outside; but it looks very nice and modern in most part of the inside.
Not all terminals have good service. I think Terminal 4 is the most modern with plenty of dining and shopping choices. Terminal 5 is most likely the busiest since low cost airlines departs from T5.
I also used Terminal 2 for my flight to Heathrow, T2 doesn't have a lot to offer compared to T4.
Finally; there is no public filtered water; the 500 ml bottle of water costs about $3.

Expensive, time-consuming and pricy to get to. Unbelievably unreliable during winter time, you might think that Sweden hasn't seen winter before... Security check works like a dream, even if there's a longer line, though.

Sorry to report folks.

Sorry to report folks.
Not very impressive at all.
Terrible markings and signs giving directions.
No ground staff available to answer any questions.
There are some interesting stores but that's about it.
Not much to write home about.

A nice big airport with good duty free, hotels and cafes, the Wi-Fi is free, the toilets could be better, but overall a nice airport, there are transfers between terminals available as well

Arlanda continues to be a complete joke as an airport. While the modern outlook might fool you for a moment, you will soon realise that the whole place is full of confusing hallways and virtually nothing to do. Fair enough, you will spend a fair amount of time looking for tiny information boards in order to know where to even start looking for your gate. Arlanda airport also offers the most scruffy and disgusting toilets that you can possibly find (this has been the case every single time I have been there, no matter how busy/quiet the airport is), which really makes you wonder whether you actually entered a toilet in a remote petrol station.
That is, if you even manage to locate one.

In addition, the security staff is always very unfriendly, even if you do not cause them any hassle or get stuck in the luggage control. No use of finding some consolidation from tasty food either --- you will pay yourself sick while eating highly mediocre food, even in the supposedly 'good' restaurants. Also, if you pay any purchases with euros (these need to be notes), your change will be given in Swedish krona which is super handy if you are only passing through.

You might be very unlucky if your gate is placed in one of the far ends where all the long-distance Asian flights depart from. They literally have 3 small cafes in there, which will run out of food in no time if there are any delays, and then your only choice is a tiny kiosk with no actual food, just chunks of smoked salmon (1kg pack) and expensive butter. You cannot go back either since you already went through passport control.

While I am sadly accustomed to flying through Arlanda, my friends actually walked out of the airport while looking for their transfer gate, despite being experienced travellers and native English speakers. I am always gutted when my transfer is through Arlanda as opposed to Copenhagen for example, which is far superior airport (and to be fair, even a scruffy bus station would beat Arlanda). They should really get their act together in Stockholm, and sadly I would not recommend this airport to anyone.

Being a man of color, I was "randomly" searched three times. The first was a flight from Stockholm, the second was two days later on a connecting flight (yes I had to fly from Stockholm to another city just to fly back to Stockholm for a connecting flight). The third time was checking in at the gate on the same day for my final flight. I haven't been "randomly" searched EVER, and to be "randomly" searched three times at the same airport is just a little suspicious. Grow Stockholm airport/Stockholm in general, stop racial profiling.

Of the worst airports in Europe.

Of the worst airports in Europe.

There are almost no options to eat and everything is full. The variety of stores is also ridiculous. If you are thinking of buying something to take with you, do it before because you will surely find nothing.

There are hardly any seats to sit down so it can be quite complicated to find a free place.

Ah, if you travel to another EU country it is not allowed to buy alcohol in the duty free.

Is this place a weird social experiment? Flying to Chicago and our gate (terminal 5 gate 18) is closed off from the rest of the airport and we as an entire flight have to share one toilet as we wait to board. There are currently 12 people in line to use it and tempers are flaring. Why is there only one toilet??? Is there a porcelain shortage in Sweden? Is the airport sadistic? Are we in some evil form of the matrix? Or to my first question, is this a social experiment?

My other interactions with the airport have been fine. Not fantastic, but fine. Disappointing compared to Oslo.

Nice airport but lousy service at sercurity check.
A passenger arrives urgently and tells the staff that her plane is about 5 minutes. Instead of hurrying to get her checked, I let her wait in line for extra check and at the same time you stop the tape so only half of her stuff is through and you do not hurry to get it done. Not okay!

At present horrible! Can't be many people who have difficulty walking that fly nowadays ... Wonder how many hundred meters you can go back and forth compared to before. I hope it is temporary - for this was one of the worst I have experienced!
Sorry, could not put up less stars ...

High level airport, spacious and bright. The staff is very friendly and professional. My dream is to visit this airport again! Grateful to Sweden, Stockholm and Arlanda for the warm welcome!

Good afternoon.

Good afternoon.
I would like to denounce the treatment received by the security control of this airport. A can has been stolen from me (bought in Finland) which has gone through a previous check at the Helsinki airport. They claim that the content is liquid, and the actual content is pate. No one has been able to explain to me that I have passed control 24 hours ago and they have not been able to make a claim on the spot either.

Entrance suitable for people with disabilities, large areas, the staff before and around the check-in are easily unpleasant for the snoring, after the check the mood of the staff lightens up and we feel welcome into duty-free. Clear information on large signs, clean surfaces, plenty of seating. A really nice airport!

Basically great, partly aging airport. As already mentioned, you often go quite a long way, which is not a problem in itself if you have time;).
The Arlanda Express takes you from the central station to the airport in 20 minutes, is a bit expensive at 280 kroner (28 euros), but the trip is super relaxed with plenty of space and of course free WiFi. There are also cheaper alternatives with the "normal" train and bus, but I didn't use them.
