Ambiance 5+ stars, View of Down town 5+ stars, Food 5+ stars, Service 5+ stars, cock roaches eating on the wall next to me -100 stars booooo
I visited C-Level for the first time last weekend. I had heard that it is a MUST to bring out of town guests; if not for the food, for the view of the downtown skyline. That is 100% correct. The view of the bay, passing boats, and of our beautiful city are spectacular. I brought a friend who was visiting from Florida, so I was not sure if he would be impressed since he is near the beautiful south Florida waters all of the time. He LOVED it. We sat in the outdoor area, the live steel drum player was a nice touch. While we were not romanitical, this place is certain to set the mood if ya know what I mean.
We shared the best fried calamari I have EVER had. It was perfectly seasoned, not too salty, the breading was crispy, and not too greasy, the inside was not too chewy, perfectly cooked, and together it was yummy! I had the Lobster Mac and Cheese, served with salad greens. All I could say is OMG . I still daydream about it .. There I go again. LOL! There was much more lobster than I thought would be in the dish, and the mac and cheese could have stood alone, cheesy perfection. My friend ordered the Clams and Linguini; however, was informed by our very helpful server that clams were not available, but mussels were being served instead. He decided to go for it. The dish was huge with a large portion of pasta, and a heaping mound of shelled mussels. I know that the proper way to eat those things is to shuck them yourself when they are freshly cooked; but it would have been nice to have them incorporated with the pasta, like the lobster mac and cheese was.
As we waited for our check to come, we stepped over to end of the patio where there is a PERFECT spot for a photo op. Kinda. First, while it is just a cosmetic flaw, they have a piece of chain link fence at the bottom of some stairs as a blockade. It seems a restaurant of this status should be able to have a handy man construct something a bit more aesthetically pleasing. While it is really no BIGGIE, our photos are of us, a chain link fence, and the beautiful skyline in the distance Also, while snapping photos there were a pair of cock roaches running back and forth on the planter wall next to our table. Kinda gross. But as I was holding in my creeped out scream of disgust, my friend reminded me that it is outdoors after all, not the restaurants fault they have uninvited visitors.
Overall, the pluses overwhelmingly out-shined any negatives and it was a beautiful experience, great service, awesome food, and we got out of there for just under $100. Not a bad, non-date ;)
Don't appreciate a 3% surcharge on the bill with already overpriced food. Just add it into the menu costs or remove it altogether.
I'm back in Montana and have told so many C Level is a must in San Diego! Thanks!
Everyone at our table was quite pleased. The staff was very friendly and kind. Makes me feel like I am back in Sacramento.
Calamari and Pan Roasted Day Boat Scallops are delicious! It's worth going there just for the Bloody Mary and the popover. Still need to test the dessert menu...
Great place for anniversaries and birthdays or special dates. Very good service.
Beautiful evening with awesome views of the city. Wonderful food. Great service!
I had a great experience until the end when we had to pay. The waiter brought me a drink by mistake but he still added it to our bill. I was polite when I told him that we didn't order that drink and he got very sassy and defensive and told me i shouldn't take something that isn't mine. i said okay sorry. When he brought the new check, he started lecturing me in front of my family about how i shouldn't take something that i didn't order so i told him not to bring me something i didn't order. Also, he didnt ID me for the drink (probably cuz i didnt order it)
Really nice spot for a dinner. Family dinners 6+ are easily accommodated due to open floor plan or place. Nice two seat spots next to windows for a couple's meal, but while the view and experience is romantic, it can get loud with so many people all around. The food is phenomenal and the service is amazingly quick and friendly. Irish coffee is a perfect compliment to any dessert and is well mixed. Views of San Diego and the ocean are lovely.
Our experience was great, excellent food. The view is breathtaking.
The food is delish and the server, Mike, is top-notch!
Great food with outstanding views. Easy parking. Good wait staff
Huge lobster sandwich. Worth it! Very rich everything !!!
Great views, good food.. service was a little slow, but it was busy.
Amazing food and service. Beautiful outdoor setting. Cost can run $$$-$$$$.
The only thing surpassing the view is the food! Service was superb as well.
Garrett was an incredible server! Thank you. Great experience, delicious food... Amazing view!
View was awesome! That's what you pay for the food was not!
Lobster mac and cheese was really the best I've ever tasted. Went during off-peak hours, so place was pretty empty. Had a lot of time to kill before a flight out, so I stayed for an (full) hour...had SEVEN different personnel check up on me. Sooo....they were either being very attentive or just wanted to get me out of there, because I wasn't making them that much money. So, I did the latter. Really wanted to try a dessert, but just felt rushed by the staff. So, food gets 5 stars, view and ambiance gets 5 stars, but staff gets 2.5-3.
The service was very pushed and rushed. Just wanted to relax after a long drive...felt very pressured to order and leave. The drink was not balanced...toooooo much lime. My coconut shrimp seemed as if it had bee frozen.
My husbands steak skrewers were covered in a yellow mustard sause...people don't enjoy mustard THAT much!
The view was pretty...but not worth it. Too bad!
My friend had a birthday dinner last night and the service was amazing. We were the last people to be served and I'm not sure if that had anything to do with how the food turned out. I ordered a chicken under the brick and it tasted like salmon. The birthday girl, another friend had the exact same thing and they agreed the flavor was off too. I didn't want to make a fuss but what I spent wasn't worth it.
It's a fantastic place, the views are unbelievable. The food servings quite generous! I dont know what I prefer the views or the food. And the staff always very accomodating !! We usually take a large group (12 to 15) and I'm always blown away by the service. It's a favorite in our community of discerning pallet.
They always want to go back.
Bravo for having an excellent balance, between service, food and location.
Service is always prompt even when they have a full house. Really nothing but enjoyable experiences here, I'll be back. The place has an awesome feel to it. They have so many good reviews for a reason.
Nice views but always make u wait even with reservations. Sometimes up to 45 minutes. Then they pull some "there was an issue with over booking with the open table app."
Went there with a group, basically ordered one of everything. Each dish was very well prepared and quite delicious. Top notch service and great cocktails.
Appetizers were good, the steak was small, the server was unpleasant.
Good food, but over priced for what you get. They over cooked my steak.
Visited for my birthday at lunch . Very nice atmosphere and great water views . Food was good as well . Great service by Jerardo , Jessie and Jackie . Salmon was delicious. And they had my favorite Italian wine Banfi .
This is a great restaurant for people to visit. The views from the patio are amazing, and don't be afraid if it is a bit cold--the patio is very nicely heated. They are very nice to kids, and have a wide range of food options. I had the lobster macaroni and cheese. The serving was plentiful and delicious. I also liked the salad that came with it. I ended up having left overs, which the server packed for me. I also tried a bite of their burger, which was also very good, and a bite of the fish and chips, which I would also recommend. The prices are quite affordable. I would have paid more for the environment and the high quality food.
I give this spot a thumbs up. There was fast, efficient, and courteous service. Prices that won't break you. I see why this place has so many great reviews.
The experience was excellent. The food was delicious. I had an amazing view. The service provided was top notch. Definitely coming back soon.
Amazing food! Love sitting outside and enjoying the atmosphere lobster BLT
One of my favorite view restaurants in San Diego! Can't beat sitting on the outdoor patio overlooking downtown while sipping on one of their delicious cocktails.
I love the skirts on fire salad and I get it almost every time I go. It's spicy skirt steak on a bed of veggies with blue cheese. Amazing!
Bring your appetite because portions are large. Food and atmosphere reminds me of Kansas City.
Very disappointed in the customer service at this restaurant. My friend and I would like to recommend that you be very careful and check your bill to make sure that you're not paying for something you did not get. Also if you are paying cash make sure you get a receipt. The wait staff could use some training and hopefully some honesty. And we were looking forward to eating here and the views. We will not be eating here again
A must visit in SD. They have the best seafood. Our favorites include the lobster BLT, the Ahi Stack, and the lobster Mac-n-cheese. It's the only place my daughter will eat blacked Ahi. Best view of the city at sunset.
Great food and staff!! Glass of wine filled nicely!
It is very beautiful and the view is nice of the harbor. The food was overpriced and just OK. We liked our server. The mud pie was actually really good. My companion got the steak and it was incredibly disappointing.
So so good! My go to spot for key lime pie, a beautiful view, and such delicious food!
Food was not good and very over priced, the view was probably the best experience
Forgot salad dressing then argued that is was on it. Nope it wasnt. Then brought dressing for warm spinach salad when supposed to be vinegar ette. Again 4% surcharge that's a no
Love this place. Great food and drinks. People are friendly
Good service, great food, awesome view. Valet parking. Harborside patio is very nice. Great views from inside as well.
The food is pretty good, they have some good beers on tap, but the view is the real draw here.
One of the most perfect showoff places when bringing visitors someplace to eat in San Diego. Go shortly before sundown so you get the effect of seeing the skyline in the daytime and then lit up at night. The lobster Mac & Cheese is the best in San Diego. The desserts are generous. Parking is a little difficult but valet is good. Don't confuse C-Level with Island Prime which is connected to the same building. C-Level doesn't take reservations but the wait isn't usually long. When you visit San Diego, this place is a must.
Lobster truffle Mac n cheese is amazing!!! Service is great. I was very pleased. You cannot go wrong with this restaurant
The burger was delicious! I had bleu cheese on mine!
Always enjoy the patio seating along the water front, never a bad selection, and service is top notch.
Amazing Cuisine Right On the Water!
This place has amazing food and amazing service! See my pics! The bay views are incredible and the food...superb! The servers go out of their way to ensure your dining experience is excellent. I went for lunch with co workers and everyone enjoyed their food. The venue seems to be able to handle parties from two to 20 in number so whether you prefer an intimate or party setting, the C Level Lounge is definitely the place to go! No reservations are needed here unless you have a large party of sic or more. Self parking is free here; valet parking is available at a cost. Handicap parking is available here and there is room/access for persons in wheelchairs here also. Happy Dining at the C Level Lounge and if you found this review helpful please click the like Like/Thumbs up icon now! Have a great day and be sure to waive at the tourist boats as they pass by! They seem to love when we waive back at them!
The blackened fish tacos are phenomenal! You can't beat the view of the harbor, watching sail boats, naval ships and many other types of watercraft. Best place to eat just after landing from your flight
Fantastic views, service, and food! Celebrated my birthday there and had a table with an awesome view overlooking the city skyline. Brooks was our server and was incredible with recommending food and so personable. We had the artichoke fritters, lobster bisque, lobster BLT, seabass, and mud pie. Highly recommend every dish but certainly dont leave there without having the lobster bisque. Thank you for such an amazing birthday dinner!
Ever a favorite, tonight s multiple celebrations were safely enjoyed with excellent safety and all the memorable. Of them, an extra special & dear friend s birthday. What a great break in the day-to-day thank you!!
Special thanks to Jeff, Nicholas & Vincent for taking such good care of us!
Unbelievable views, incredible service, & food to die for!
That was the fanciest plate of chicken strips and fries I've ever had.
Looking forward to returning with my relatives. It has a nice atmosphere. Reminds me of a restaurant in Philadelphia that I enjoyed.
Love this superb place
Excellent food and atmosphere.
Nice, upscale bar and restaurant on the bay. Very convenient to the airport. Apps and cocktails were top notch. Self-parking options are very limited, valet is $7.
Delicious food (especially the vegan dish) and wonderful view. Loved it.
Beautiful. Delicious. Will return when back in San Diego.
Dinner on the patio is absolutely gorgeous! This place is so nice. The food was delicious but pricy, nothing I wouldn't have expected though. The ambiance and water were so very nice. Definitely a great date night spot!
I fell in love with the place beautiful view excellent food. somewhat expensive but worth it
The server was very knowledgable. The view was incredible. The food was a 10+. My only complaint was the wait once we were seated however, I know they were busy. I was just hangry. Will definitely be back!!
Great food with a amazing view. Normally, restaurants with a good view don t have good foods. This restaurant is an exception. With an amazing view of the harbor and downtown San Diego, this restaurant offers amazing food. That s why this restaurant is packed on the weekend. We came with friends for lunch after church. We were all impressed with the food. I ordered their warm spinach with grill salmon. The taste is great and the salmon was tender. My friend cod dish was equally fantastic. The fish was cooked to perfection with the right amount of spices and seasoning. My friend also raved about the taste of his burger. When dessert time came, we couldn t resist ordering the ice cream mud pie and key lime pie. The mud pie was humongous and the key lime pie was just delicious. We will be back to try out the other dishes next time when we are in San Diego.
Great food, location, and atmosphere on the San Diego waterfront!
Service is top notch, the view amazing, the food fantastic and somehow it's not too terrible expensive!
It was so savory. Really nothing but good experiences here. Prices are fair I would say. Food and atmosphere reminds me of Atlanta.
Beautiful views of San Diego bay and skyline. Exquisite seafood.
Wonderful atmosphere overlooking the bay. Service and food was outstanding. When in Diego make sure you treat yourself and hit this spot! You won't be disappointed!!!
