Ambiance 5+ stars, View of Down town 5+ stars, Food 5+ stars, Service 5+ stars, cock roaches eating on the wall next to me -100 stars booooo

I visited C-Level for the first time last weekend. I had heard that it is a MUST to bring out of town guests; if not for the food, for the view of the downtown skyline. That is 100% correct. The view of the bay, passing boats, and of our beautiful city are spectacular. I brought a friend who was visiting from Florida, so I was not sure if he would be impressed since he is near the beautiful south Florida waters all of the time. He LOVED it. We sat in the outdoor area, the live steel drum player was a nice touch. While we were not romanitical, this place is certain to set the mood if ya know what I mean.

We shared the best fried calamari I have EVER had. It was perfectly seasoned, not too salty, the breading was crispy, and not too greasy, the inside was not too chewy, perfectly cooked, and together it was yummy! I had the Lobster Mac and Cheese, served with salad greens. All I could say is OMG . I still daydream about it .. There I go again. LOL! There was much more lobster than I thought would be in the dish, and the mac and cheese could have stood alone, cheesy perfection. My friend ordered the Clams and Linguini; however, was informed by our very helpful server that clams were not available, but mussels were being served instead. He decided to go for it. The dish was huge with a large portion of pasta, and a heaping mound of shelled mussels. I know that the proper way to eat those things is to shuck them yourself when they are freshly cooked; but it would have been nice to have them incorporated with the pasta, like the lobster mac and cheese was.

As we waited for our check to come, we stepped over to end of the patio where there is a PERFECT spot for a photo op. Kinda. First, while it is just a cosmetic flaw, they have a piece of chain link fence at the bottom of some stairs as a blockade. It seems a restaurant of this status should be able to have a handy man construct something a bit more aesthetically pleasing. While it is really no BIGGIE, our photos are of us, a chain link fence, and the beautiful skyline in the distance Also, while snapping photos there were a pair of cock roaches running back and forth on the planter wall next to our table. Kinda gross. But as I was holding in my creeped out scream of disgust, my friend reminded me that it is outdoors after all, not the restaurants fault they have uninvited visitors.

Overall, the pluses overwhelmingly out-shined any negatives and it was a beautiful experience, great service, awesome food, and we got out of there for just under $100. Not a bad, non-date ;)
