I'd love to write a great review of this place, as I had intended to try it for weeks, ever since I found out the conference hotel I'd be stuck at for a week was located just up the island.

I walked about 30 minutes to get here, and while I did balk when the host told me the wait would be 45 minutes, I decided to wait. After all, you can't punish them for being successful, right?

After an hour with no contact, I poked my head in only to find that my name had not, in fact, been written in by the host. Or if it had, it had been crossed out, even though I had been sitting on the bench reading a book and never had my name called out.

I was then told the wait would be over an hour ... making it a 2+ hour wait.

No thanks. I took the long walk back to the hotel and had a grilled cheese sandwich from room service. It's too bad - I had a $100 per diem burning a hole in my pocket and I really wanted to try a little of everything from the C level menu, and I'm a fantastic tipper. But it was not to be.

I'll be back in San Diego late in the summer, maybe. I don't think I'll be wasting my time here, though. The food may be great, but if you're not going to let me eat it, I'm not sure why I should go out of my way to give you my business.

Hell of a menu for a "Lounge". Full scale restaurant from what I could see. Friendly staff all around from the hostess to our waiter, Jake. Sitting right on San Diego Harbor, the view is awesome of downtown, Coronado Bridge, North Island.

Dinner was fantastic. Everything we had was relatively unique compared to most "chophouses". Each plate is a "presentation" rather than typical slab of meat, fish, etc. thrown on a plate, and there you go.

The Ahi I had was so tender that I didn't need a knife other than to spread my Wasabi. My wife had Halibut (Catch of the Day) and she claims it was the best halibut she's ever had. And she's had a bunch. So that's saying something.

The food, service, and atmosphere was stupendous. The waitress we had was very quick and sociable. She knew the menu and was able to suggest what would go well with what we were having. The food was to die for. The pasta was so flavorful that the plate was gone in no time at all. The atmosphere is very warm, lovely, and clean. It is a little on the pricey side, but you get your moneys' worth. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend.

It was a nice day in California should I say...San Diego. So my honey drove all the way from Carlsbad to to take his Babe to Lunch at Island Prime C/Level to enjoy their Fabulous menu of Seafood and those BOMB Azz Bloody Marty's with the Shrimp Crab topping. Just to say I mean so much to him and he Love's me. Thanks for your Hospitalities Island Prime. I enjoyed my meal and myself. 5 Stars across the Board. That's are spot. 3x I've been. We are going to make it our monthly Love Nest. Thanks again.

We dined at the C Level Lounge on Valentine's Day with a group of 10. We were also celebrating my husband's birthday. The food was outstanding from the appetizers to the main course to the desserts. Everyone in our party loved their food and enjoyed the dining experience. Hats off to the manager, Jon Boyle, who arranged for a birthday cake to be delivered to our table! Great service!

Great quick service! Beautiful oceanfront views. We had the ahi tuna stack which was very tasty, the crab cake was very bland and would not order again. The steamed mussel were amazing and full of flavor, hands down a must try!

C Level is one of my favorite restaurants with a beautiful view of the water and Coronado bridge and great food and service. Eat at an outside table for a better view. It is a great place to take your guests from out of town. Today my BFF and I shared the Seared Ahi Stack and the Lobster and Fontina BLT sandwich. The sandwich was huge! We added a couple glasses of Prosecco for a perfect summer lunch. The parking lot is self parking during lunch, but most of the parking lot becomes valet only for dinner.

This place has a great view and sweet staff. The service was very slow. We waited for 10 minutes after we were seated to have a waitress come to our table. It took another 20 minutes before the 1 drink that we were able to order was received. So after waiting for about 52 minutes we received our appetizers of crab cakes and a lobster bisque, which were delicious. Then 10 minutes later our entree was received. My blue salmon that I order was not hot nor was the asparagus that came with it cooked. The asparagus was too crunchy and the corn in the summer salad had too much of the cob in it, which was not easy to chew and turned me off of the side salad. I ordered a key lime pie to go for dessert. I wished that I would have checked it before we left the restaurant. We informed them when the brought us our a blueberry bread pudding dessert that I was allergic to berries and my key lime pie dessert had strawberries on it, which I can't eat. I was actually looking forward to that dessert since it was our 8 year anniversary dessert. So this was kind of disappointing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch with another couple, although a few times the noise volume was a bit high for easy conversation. Our choices were Louie salad, which was fresh and colorful and the Ahi tuna, which was served rare with black rice and pineapple salsa. Our cousins both had clam chowder in a bread bowl, which they agreed was outstanding. The view was lovely and the service attentive.

Great food with a amazing view. Normally, restaurants with a good view don t have good foods. This restaurant is an exception. With an amazing view of the harbor and downtown San Diego, this restaurant offers amazing food. That s why this restaurant is packed on the weekend. We came with friends for lunch after church. We were all impressed with the food. I ordered their warm spinach with grill salmon. The taste is great and the salmon was tender. My wife s cod dish was equally fantastic. The fish was cooked to perfection with the right amount of spices and seasoning. My friend also raved about the taste of his burger. When dessert time came, we couldn t resist ordering the ice cream mud pie and key lime pie. The mud pie was humongous and the key lime pie was just delicious. We will be back to try out the other dishes next time when we are in San Diego.

great atmosphere, beautiful view, food was very good, did not like that we had to valet park and also did not like unexpected 3% on the bill. Given the price for the meal, extra cost bring my review down. I would still go back for special occasion.

Delish! I ordered the lobster bisque and it was amazing. I got 2 extra to go, one for my lunch and one for my co worker who loves lobster bisque. During dinner, we put the lobster bisque on my boyfriends lobster mac and cheese and it was crazy delicious. Great view, staff were all really pleasant and polite. And I felt I got what I paid for. The good was really good and it was not over priced. Oh and the drinks were good too!

This Lounge has great views but be prepared to pay for parking. The views of the ocean are wonderful! It is especially beautiful at night. They had an amazing gentleman playing the steal drumb.

I'm giving this restaurant and overall five star review, because the food was great the atmosphere was great the service was great. Justin our waiter made us feel welcome, was very accommodating, brought the food out hot, and checked in with us frequently. My wife had the skirt steak salad, which I tasted, and was very good. I had the lobster BLT sandwich. It was over-the-top delicious and did not skimp on the nice pieces of lobster and lots of delicious bacon.

This was where I proposed to my wife! Always a great experience here. Food is delicious, awesome service, and you can't beat the view--especially at sunset when downtown lights up.

Tip: About 80% of parking will be valet. So expect to pay $7 (plus tip if you want). They take cash and card, paid upon exit.

It's a restaurant by the water so the scenery is already worth it. The service is very good and the food was great. Everyone seems to be in a good mood when they're at the restaurant. So good sign I think. 3 pm is their happy hour and it's worth it to check it out. Plus free parking during that too!

Thank you Ashley for everything!!

Eats: Lobster Truffle Mac and Cheese, Lobster Bisque, Ahi Tune Stack
C Level and Island Prime is basically a single restaurant with 2 different menus at each side. I thought this was a bit peculiar, but whatever works.

On a busy Saturday night, a wait for a table would be about 45 minutes. Luckily, there was a full service bar, which wasn't overly crowded, but I was able to swoop in a couple seats for my party. It was then that I turned around and saw the marvelous view. C level is basically built on top of the water. Our eventual table would be covered outdoor under a heater, but looking down, you are on a wooden pier. The kicker for all would be the marvelous unobstructed view of the Downtown San Diego skyline.

First to come out would be the ahi tuna stack, which to me was a bit bland on my taste buds. There wasn't really a dominant flavor to put my finger on, but the others in my party appreciated the freshness of the flavor.

My lobster bisque came out a bit watered down, but what would have been a 3 star review turned out to be a 4 star review, when the waitress overheard us talking about it. She promptly offered to take it back to the kitchen and refund our bill. I appreciated this gesture, but politely declined as I would not let lobster bisque go to waste, bland or not. Plus plus points Ms. Waitress. Wish I remembered your name to mention it here (Gaslamp bar hopping would follow).

The lobster truffle mac and cheese would be the highlight of my meal, but I didn't feel the truffle flavor as much as everyone else did. It wouldn't be the best mac I've ever tasted, but it was unique enough. I was afraid that I wouldn't be as filled eating mac and cheese versus, say a burger, but I was surprised. They piled on that mac and cheese and lobster on top. Halfway through, I would have thrown the towel has this not been lobster. I'd definitely come back for happy hour if I'm around town. From looking at other tables, the sandwiches also looked extremely enticing. See ya again, C Level.
