Great place, had a fantastic time and delicous food! Only not five stars because 1 of my families dessert was not hot/warm when it should have been. 9.5/10

Really good food at a beautiful location. Great views of the Hudson and nice grounds to stroll around.
Beautiful spa, friendly staff and amazing facial! Ask for Dana
I had a crystal body treatment with Jean. I had not had this type of treatment before so I wasn't sure if I'd like it. It was wonderful! Jean was very thorough; she asked questions at the onset of the service and all other thoughts floated away.
Afterwards, I ate the lunch I had ordered, poolside and it was freshly made and delicious. The soothing music was perfect for this setting. I highly recommend treating yourself or someone you love to a day at the Buttermilk Falls.
Had the Most wonderful spa day & facial. The grounds and views are spectacular.
Great place to go to get out of NYC. Under 2 hours from City. Get a massage. Have a great meal. Super low key. Be careful of sunlight in rooms. If you plan to sleep in have them cover windows to black it out.
As always the food and libations were phenomenal. Highly recommend black dirt manhattan
The best thing going for Buttermilk Falls Inn is it's location. It happens to be located in a forrest like setting which is really beautiful at this particular time. We booked our stay for one night to make sure that we liked it and that it really was all that we were lead to believe it was. We arrived just a few moments past 9 p.m. and were greeted by a dark empty office. There was an envelope with our name on it with our room key inside and a map directing us to our room. Really? There was no one there to welcome us or answer questions or help in any way. The room was ok but not at all what was described. The furniture was worn out, the bed leaned to one side and we had no control over the temperature of the room which was uncomfortably warm. Per the instructions on our map I went down to look for a number to call for assistance on the front desk. There was no number so I called the main number for the hotel room at 2 am because it was simply too hot to sleep. I left a message and of course no one called us in return. We suffered through the night and prepared to leave. Upon exiting someone at the front desk asked me if we needed help and when I explained what the night had been like for us the reply was just "i'm sorry." I left my number for someone to call me and of course no one ever called. This was a very costly learning experience as these rooms are not cheap and needless to say, we will not return or recommend this Inn to anyone.
Really comfortable stay with a beautiful backdrop. I had such a good night's sleep that I bought their pillows!
I was there for my sister's wedding and they did a fantastic job with the entire event. We where there for the weekend and it was fabulous. The team members at the farm where great and the ones who where involved with her wedding where very nice and helpful throughout the entire weekend.
Restaurant only: Ate at Henry's on a busy Friday night for a date night with the wife, our meals were clearly rushed, my lamb was cooked inconsistently, Complete rare one side, medium well on the other, and when cut for presentation wasn't corrected even though it was clear what had happened. I don't mind paying a lot for a meal if its done well, but this was not worth the price.
Absolutely gorgeous grounds and the food is amazing !!
This is the best B & B in the Hudson Valley. No need to research, just come here. Beautiful surroundings, great food, beautiful accomodations.
Buttermilk Falls has a gorgeous grounds with great food and drink. I love walking along and seeing the goats, ducks, and donkeys! The barn that the event I attended was in had a very cool rustic feel overlooking their gardens.
A Great wedding venue, can't wait to try the food.
Just went to the restaurant. Every time we go to this restaurant, there is some kind of problem. This time, our steaks were cold - not just not hot enough but actually cold. They reheated them to "warm" and we settled for warm. When we made the reservation they told us we "Had to be out by 7:30" for a 6:30 reservation. Not a great place. The foos is usually good but never a great dining experience!
Always a delight! Ben is such an amazing masseuse and the grounds, spa and staff are all exceptional!
What a beautiful location fantastic I recommend everyone go there
It's enchanting. An opportunity to be close to nature with all it's beauty. The restaurant is excellent and the staff is wonderful!
Extremely pleased with the service from the ladies at the front desk AND most especially pleased with the massage I received. Planning on future shiatsu massage therapy going forward! :)
Lovely grounds and we had a nice lunch, but unfortunately did not stay the weekend because their reservation system was not working on the website and after multiple calls and a voicemail, we gave up on booking.
I can only share my experience regarding the spa. I have been waiting to come here for probably a good three years now but for some reason or other, had to keep canceling my appointments. I finally got there today and I have to say that my first impression left me a bit underwhelmed. My husband called on Friday to confirm my appointment for today and they were able to switch to a different massage since he had accidentally booked the wrong one. I arrived a half an hour before my appointment and was greeted and asked if I had been there before. The front desk woman brought me to the locker room and explained how to use the locker and then instructed me to wait by the pool after changing and the massage therapist would call my name. There was no mention of the sauna or steam room, and I could certainly have asked, but I did not. I was hoping to use the steam room but I did not really mind waiting by the pool. It just would ve been nice to unwind by myself in the steam room. The pool and locker rooms are advertised as quiet rooms, but there were small groups of people around the pool chatting, and it was definitely not quiet. It wasn t overwhelmingly loud and I m not faulting people for talking in a public place, but it was hard to tune out conversations (and a ringing cell phone). The pool room was also warm and I was getting a bit too warm after sitting in there for 20 minutes in the spa robe. It definitely would ve been more fun if I had a friend with me during that part. I booked the mill stone massage since I love the smell of lavender and I don t quite get the point of the warm/wet towels. It took away from the hands-on time of the massage and didn t really add too much to the experience for me. My massage therapist was good but there were a few instances where one of the coverings was stuck under my body and she just yanked it out. And honestly if I didn t know that it was supposed to be a lavender massage, I would ve had no idea. The oil did not smell like lavender in the slightest, and I have a very sensitive sense of smell. My only other criticism was that my massage therapist did not realize that I had booked a 90 minute massage and I didn t see the time until after she advised that it was time to get dressed and left the room. So once I realized the time, I got dressed anyway and then informed the front desk staff. The staff was apologetic and the massage therapist apologized after it was brought to her attention, and I appreciated the apology. I honestly didn t bring it to her attention because I was not crazy about the Millstone massage. I would ve been happier with a regular massage that had more hands-on time. Locals get a 10% discount (Duchess, ulster, and orange counties), and I was given an additional 5% as an apology for the shortage on the massage. So I would probably return but I would get a different massage. I left feeling relaxed but not necessarily like I had a full body massage. No one area of my body really got treatment for an extended amount of time.
Scallops are to die for, you cant go wrong with brown butter and cashews! Grouper special was delicious and more than enough to share, as thankfully I was doing! Wonderful as always!!
Was there for a wedding and it was amazing. The grounds are quiet and stunningly beautiful. Great place to relax.
Very nice grounds, heard there's great food especially their desserts. As for a wedding venue, very pricy
Absolutely wonderful place. Gorgeous scenery, and everyone is so friendly!
Came here for my first hot stone massage. My LMT Kara was amazing. The massage was so relaxing and soothing. Everyone there was professional and I felt comfortable getting a massage even during covid times.
I went to Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa for brunch and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Although service was a bit slow, the food was worth the wait. After brunch we went and explored a bit. The animals were fun to look at although not friendly per se. Overall, a pleasurable experience.
First time at buttermilk falls. Enjoyed a hot stone massage, and the many other amenities (dry and wet sauna, swimming pool, complimentary drinks). Would definitely go again.
Walking around the property was better than eating there. The lunch menu was run-of-the-mill. I expected a fresh and well cooked meal, it was comparable to an average restaurant chain.
Great food, good wine selection. Fun and trendy atmosphere. I'm sure the scenery is nice to look out at when it is still light out. We will be back with friends and family
Went for brunch with a large group. Chicken and waffles were great!
Beautiful location and setting! Our room was so cute and cozy. We really enjoyed the spa too. If you can go to Mr Henry s for dinner. The duck and lamb was particularly delicious. Also, the breakfast offered gluten free bread which was perfect! Really close to Storm King which I also highly recommend for an afternoon putting. Definitely coming back against
This spot is worth a try. They have big portions for fair rates. Consistently well organized and with good vibes. Will visit here again.
Used the grounds to take photos. They were very accommodating!
Beautiful restaurant & grounds. Meals were delicious & affordable. Staff was friendly & accommodating. I highly recommend Henry's at Buttermilk Falls.
One of my favorite spas!! Love everything about this place and I can t wait to go back!!
Great place with awesome staff, epic views of the Hudson river, delicious food, and more! Highly recommend. It's the perfect place to visit if your from the city!
My sister in law works here. Very nice place to visit
From check in to check out everyone was very accommodating! Loved the relaxation and time away from the crazy life my husband and I both lead. The staff was very respectful and the grounds were gorgeous! Highly recommend for a romantic get away.
Beautiful location on the Hudson River. However, the spa itself needs some updating. The women's locker room is extremely small with only one bathroom and one shower. I went on a Monday at the place was packed. Barely had space to move in the locker room, let alone have any privacy. The men's locker room is located directly across from the women's room. So, literally everytime someone opens the door to the women's locker room anyone walking by can see in. Terrible setup... absolutely no privacy. I had to share a locker with a friend I came with. The food was extremely bland as well. I complained about my order and was told a new chef was working because the regular was on vacation. The facial itself was nice. Eh... not sure I would be rushing back anytime soon.
Great spot to take the kids to see animals, incredible view of the river and breathtaking atmosphere. The food and drinks are well worth the trip.
The Inn and Spa facilities were very nice and well kept. The views of the Hudson River are beautiful and the overall property was fantastic.
I m giving one star because there isn t less than that!! We had 11 am reservation first customers in the restaurant and gave the order immediately! After 1 hour and 20 min we finally got the food after complaining to see a manager twice!! After we ate finally the manager came to the table with an attitude and told us I m giving you the two free coffee and 50% off the drinks and started to leave without an apology! We had to eat in 5 min because we had spa appointments! A day spa mother and daughter relaxing day was ruined not only waiting so long for our food but deal with the attitude!! Thank you to the GENERAL MANAGER on duty on 6/24/2018 between 11:00 and 1 for ruining a special day with our daughters (party of 8) the food was good but we couldn t enjoy it because we got indigestion before hand!! First and last time here..
I eat at the restaurant often. Spa is great too: pool, massage, beautiful setting along the Hudson.
Amazing! Top restaurant in hudson valley. Best french onion soup! Great pizzas. Will go back soon to order other half of menu!
I took my kids for a walk around the property while my wife was at a nearby Winery, it is a beautiful place and we had a great time.
We had a PMI Chapter training and education session at the barn. The facility is fantastic, the staff is professional and courteous, and the food and atmosphere are great. It's a great place to have any event.
So rare for a place to turn out better than expected! Amazing food, good service, beautiful grounds...and they have llamas!
Another great day, relaxing, enjoying the entire place inside and outside. Nothing better than to be with family and friends!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for making my Bachelorette party weekend amazing! Loved the spa, Henry's was amazing, and my girls and I really loved the Riverknoll House! Will be back again! I wanna go back already and I just left!
Spa was packed. My massage was good but the food we ordered pool side was disappointing. Not nearly as good as the food used to be
Ate at the restaurant. Good view and atmosphere. Facitilies were clean and the food was perfectly reasonable.
Like a plan
This is it
Verdant green
Lots of space and fantastic day
Our first visit here for a 4 course beer and food pairing. ( Chatham brewery) Each course was perfectly flavored and paired with the brewery pilsner, IPA, hop crop IPA, cream ale, Belgium and porter. Portions were very generous as were the beverages. Roped with coffee and plenty of time to visit between courses we really enjoyed the event. The setting was beautiful and I'm looking forward to going back to tour the grounds and go to the spa!
Amazing grounds and restaurant. The spa is very relaxing as well.
This place is very tranquil. Great get away. My massage was great. I will come again.
My Massage deserves FIVE STARS.
If you want the best massage of your life, call up the spa and book Christine. The pain I was holding in my shoulders is gone. She finds the notes and works on them. She takes her time and the focus she has is out of this world. Thank you Christina for alleviating my pain.
Sadly, I was in treatment room #1 (closest to the lobby) and heard a lot of talking, shouting, and guffaws in the lobby. This is a spa, not a romper room. Keep it down. Request to be in a room farthest away from the lobby.
The locker room has one bathroom and one shower only, it got super cramped when I was done with my massage. I went back to my room to shower.
Now - for the 2 Stars.
Unfortunately I can't separate my Spa experience from the Inn experience.
The Inn was not the best at all - I stayed in the Captain's Room. The first night, I couldn't sleep at all.
-The air conditioning was not on, and we only had a wall unit fan that wasn't doing much.
-The sheets were old and beady, and caused a rash on my lower back. It was disgusting. No one is on staff, so there's a number to call, I called Ann and she immediately came and changed the sheets.
-The bathroom wasn't properly set at all, toiletries were not placed until the second day.
-The mattress was extremely uncomfortable - it rounded inwards.
Midway thru the second day, I noticed the air conditioning was working, and requested that it stay on throughout the entire stay.
We ended up leaving a night early, I didn't even care about getting a refund. I just needed rest. I didn't get the rest I was looking for, the first night - only got about 4 hours of sleep from the rash and sheets. The next two night averaged 4-6 hours. I really was looking for a nice getaway, but I felt like I needed a vacation for this vacation. For the price, it needs to be updated, immediately, service needs to be top notch.
Breakfast is phenomenal, I wish there was an option to order more or two items off the menu.
Desk Staff is great, super perfect.
Ingredients were fresh, food not salty, and service was excellent.
It's a nice place. Staff was great but not worth the money
Love both the Spa & the Inn. The views and the falls are beautiful!
It was very nice. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is because we went toward Valentine's Day and I was not able to experience the normal restaurant and menu.
Never been there before had an excellent brunch it was the food was terrific service was great thank you
We went to Buttermilk Falls for our wedding Anniversary. We loved the setting, the restaurant, the grounds and the farm. We would love to go again but we stayed in Sage Right and the bed was so UNCOMFORTABLE that neither myself or my husband slept the entire time!!! It was so disappointing and so frustrating because we loved everything else about it but without any sleep we were unable to enjoy ourselves. We were very upset about it.
Was just there to eat at the restaurant but the food was good. The location is beautiful. Only complaint so far is the horrible parking spaces/lot. Parking near the restaurant was very small and limited so you'd have to park all the way to the wedding/event area which is a couple mins walk over which would be fine if it wasn't nighttime and you're not literally walking through the woods trying to find your way to the parking lot with minimal lighting. Had to use my cellphones flashlight just to see where I was going. Food was great, location was night but try to improve the parking spaces.
Good food but the service is slow. We arrived and ordered before a different table arrived and they got their food before us. Waiter had no explanation or even mention it. Parking is quite hard to get to so probably wont be going back if we are out that way again.
