The best thing going for Buttermilk Falls Inn is it's location. It happens to be located in a forrest like setting which is really beautiful at this particular time. We booked our stay for one night to make sure that we liked it and that it really was all that we were lead to believe it was. We arrived just a few moments past 9 p.m. and were greeted by a dark empty office. There was an envelope with our name on it with our room key inside and a map directing us to our room. Really? There was no one there to welcome us or answer questions or help in any way. The room was ok but not at all what was described. The furniture was worn out, the bed leaned to one side and we had no control over the temperature of the room which was uncomfortably warm. Per the instructions on our map I went down to look for a number to call for assistance on the front desk. There was no number so I called the main number for the hotel room at 2 am because it was simply too hot to sleep. I left a message and of course no one called us in return. We suffered through the night and prepared to leave. Upon exiting someone at the front desk asked me if we needed help and when I explained what the night had been like for us the reply was just "i'm sorry." I left my number for someone to call me and of course no one ever called. This was a very costly learning experience as these rooms are not cheap and needless to say, we will not return or recommend this Inn to anyone.
