Clean & quite enough. Unfortunately when you book in on a rate of $120 per night do not think it stays $120, we were charged 3 different rates. Although the stat was nice, we were left with a sour taste in our months due to different charges per night.

It is a very old fashioned hotel and the rooms are very old as well. The air conditioning was very noisy and the main lift was broken. Breakfast was very normal.
Great staff and value! The hotel is situated in a perfect place near a large playground and grass fields. There is a large pool, a restaurant next door, and Fasta Pasta (a favourite of mine) 2 doors down. It's now my preferred stay in Adelaide!
Great quiet spot with nice views out of the balcony. Rooms are nice and the lobby is very posh. Staff are very friendly and happy to help. Parking as guest is quite cheap per day.
Easy to access along South Terrace. Parking options could be better but it is ample. Rooms are comfortable with nice amenities. Shower has great water pressure, kettle and toaster available in room. There is a restaurant though i never used it. Free wifi which works well enough to stream movies online.
Comfortable bed and clean. Yet not as seen on the website as 'executive' suite. Drab furniture and balcony in which a lick of paint wouldn't do any harm. The lobby is impressive i must say. The breakfast is ok with a mixture of toasts available (multigrain, wholemeal and white), cereals, pancake maker and juices with coffee and tea and fresh fruit but it wasn't until i overheard you can upgrade to a cooked breakfast but when we questioned the front desk it is an extra $15 per head to go across to the sister hotel. Thats a lot of money. Really needs to be more transparent with offerings and a lick of paint. Not thw worst but not impressed.
For the price it's pretty good, but definitely getting long in the tooth. Only major complaint is the bathrooms, with a shower head so low that only one of the 7 Dwarfs could enjoy it. Couple that with a truly bizarre hot water situation, where its either tepid or scolding hot, and it makes for a truly abismal shower. Possibly worse for me, as I'm 6ft 3, so quite literally had to kneel in the shower to get my head under the water. Staff were really lovely though, so as long as you can deal with the bathrooms, the cost is actually very good for what you get. About a 15 minute walk to Rundal Mall, the centre of Adelaide CBD, so not too far out either.
Location is nice not far away from the city ( almost 25 minutes walk) and it is in front of the main park. Staff: The receptionist was so bossy and lack of customer care. First she provided two vouchers for free drinks, when I tried to know more details about the voucher, she was not welling to listen and instructed me to read the voucher in a very instructive way. She also provided one magnetic access card which did not work and I had to go all the way down again to reset my access card. Her reply was shocking that I must not put it near to any mobile. - Obviously I did not but the way she was talking is really as a teacher talking to a student in a school not a guest. In the evening of the same day I asked her about the Gym and the pool she directed me to the way. However, I found all doors locked and I searched for any sign to see opening hours, there was no sign. I wonder why didn't she provided the right enough information about the timing. Internet Wifi: is provided in your room, it works fine when on laptops but on mobile, you have to re login every time u open ur mobile as it disconnects when it is not active.
Room service is the only amazing wonderful service I get her.
I booked 10 days pre paid via e booking. unfortunately non refundable. Other than that, I would definitely get my money back and find another hotel where at least guests should be treated as guests paying money get a good service
Showing signs of aging. No compendium in room and no info given at check in re hotel facilities the lift is not to be used after 11pm or before 5 30am, not sure what that is about...again no info other than not to use it. Graffiti in lift and on the balcony on floor two do not give a four star feel....in fact makes you feel you are in the wrong place completely...on the plus side the shower pressure was fantastic and it is walking distance to some lovely restaurants. Most of the staff we encounted were friendly and the lobby is really lovely, the rooms were a good size and the bed comfortable.
This place needs a bulldozer makeover, 1 parking level condemned, grubby, old and run down rooms, overpriced, surly staff, only 1 porters trolley for a 4 level/approx 100 room motel, I have nothing nice to say about it.
Our Concierge was friendly and welcoming. The elevator feels like it s going to drop you half a floor early... when the doors open it s still moving up or down which is a bit surprising. The taps in the bathroom wiggle around, and the menu folder had no menu in it. The wifi didn t connect. The bed was comfortable though and is was quiet. Thus.. 3 stars.
Friendly staff with easy parking. You do not pay top dollar as it is an older motel. Was clean and tidy. Our room was on the ground floor and next to the reception lounge area so was a bit noisy even to the early hours of the morning.
Unfortunately the room was quite dirty. I understand it was cheap, but I still expect clean. Hair on the sink and vanilla in the bathroom, mould (lots) in the shower, very dusty chairs and curtains. It was impossible to sit without coughing. Brought issues up with reception and initially she was very interested however when more customers arrived, I was pushed to the side and ignored. I wouldn't stay again.
From the style of the lobby this place seems great and the staff are friendly. The view from our 1st floor balcony is nice, for the price our room was a let down.
Minimal furniture yet the room still seems small, tiny tv and black scuff marks on the walls. The only thing our room has that we enjoy is the bath and the too double beds.
The elevator is turned off everyday from 11pm to later in the morning due to "maintenance requirements". No wonder why when riding it, it is old, very noisy and jumps when approaching your floor opening it's doors mid-motion. My 4yo was to scared to rid it after the first time.
Friends and accomodating staff. Rooms very outdated not inviting at all. Beds comfy, breakfast not much selection for a buffet (no eggs or bacon at all) Foyer is done up lovely but a shame none of the rest of the place looks like it.
Tried to move my booking a day forward but was advised that they wouldn t do it and I would be charged the full fee for the night even though I couldn t take the room. No human compassion here. Very disappointing service by the reservations team.
Room was a bit dated. Bed was comfy despite its looks. Shower was hard to get the water pressure right. It was either flat out hard with warm water or slow steady water which was scalding. It had an odd balcony door setup. You Could open it like a window but couldn't open enough to enjoy the balcony.
The reception area is beautifully modern and updated, and the hall way was well decorated to go with the theme but our room was very original. So was a wee bit of a suprise. But it was spacious, clean, lots of natural light and a door that opened to the balcony. Beds were uncomfortable and the bathroom had no fan but the shower pressure was good. Carpark was $5 for the day / night. Customer service was friendly and helpful. Value for money and good location. Would I stay again yes.
The Chifley on South Terrace is an older building however everything was clean comfortable and functional. Good airconditioning in each room. Reasonably close to the tram line for ease of access to Glenelg and the Entertainment Center. Only downside was the elevator which is old loud and mildly terrifying.
I don t know, mattresses were the worst I have ever slept in. Runner on bed and lampshades stained. Grout missing from bathroom floor tiles, tiles moved. Chunk out of bath. Way overpriced for room.
Average, power points didn't work bathroom wasn't the cleanest + got sick of drinking the tap water as there wasn't any other water to drink. Will never go back
Great staff, hotel is pretty aged, no mini bar, resteraunt And bar is down the road at another hotel. Rooms are large and fairly comfortable they just feel a little empty and in need of love
i just attempted make a booking and pay for a room at this hotel. It seemed too great a feat to make the booking as the receptionist didn't seem to understand the concept of paying for a room as you book it. Rather than stop and think the receptionist told me I was 'angry', I perhaps should be as I haven't received the information I have been waiting for from her since 10.30am.. Suffice to say I'll be finding a corporate room which has good service with experienced booking staff who understand their role is to make the booking and quickly. Quite disappointed as it seemed nice enough a place to stay. Not recommended if you like good service that is direct and professional.
Cheap hotel with great facilities and staff. Great location, just across from a playground (we stayed as a family of 5). Fasta pasta 50m away and a few other dining/takeaway places around the corner. Swimming pool was a hit with the kids, also had good off street parking. Decor of the rooms could do with an update and we didn't like that every room shared the balcony. Other than that it was a real surprise package, Will stay again.
Average sort of place but cheap and convenient. Would have thought being offered a nonsmoking floor without request would have been an option. Didn't think smoking in a public area such as a motel would have been condoned.
Nice and clean with fun retro decor in the lobby. Bed could have been more comfortable and I didn't like the crinkly pillows. It felt like they were filled with some sort of plastic. Breakfast was great. The kids were super excited about the pancake machine! Staff was very polite and efficient.
Stayed here for a night and found it quite reasonable. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. Would have prefered the mini-bar to be empty so we could put our own snacks in there. Maybe they need a system where you order the mini-bar when you make your booking if you want access to it. Will return again when next we visit Adelaide.
You get what you pay for in life - and the same is true for hotels. This is cheap by Adelaide standards, and not all that bad given the price. On the upside, the rooms are large. There's good wifi, and the location is reasonably central. On the downside, the decor is pretty old, probs 1980s and this is showing particularly in the bathrooms which could really do with renovation. However the staff are helpful and the place is pretty clean. Could be worse. But could also be better.
I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for a very long walk dragging my luggage from local bus Ex Airport as myself and other passengers were advised the Jbus ceased duty at 6pm we arrived at around 7pm.If your hotel had bothered to check you could have contacted me and advised alternative, other than Taxi.
Nice hotel but starting to show its age. Reception is nice but the rooms are starting to need work. We tried calling the hotel to make our reservation for 3 days, before finally giving in and driving to the place to do it personally. .. not good. Room was comfortabe enough, but the colour scheme left a lot to be desired. Very dated. Bathroom was fine but who thought it would be a good idea to put the toilet in front of the mirror? Not good for a bloke when you are standing there, believe me!
Overlooking the parklands the Chifley is very convenient to the CBD. Rooms were of good size, neat and tidy. Helpful staff, enjoyed my stay. Will certainly keep in mind for future visits to Adelaide.
Great value for money. Clean rooms and facilities, and the whole hotel was freshly renovated. Friendly staff and a nice look to everything. Our room felt big and clean. My only complaints are the noise. We had a room with a shared door between the rooms which are obviously for families or friends to join two rooms together. The doors were locked, but they are paper thin and we heard every noise next door. The rooms had large windows all across the north wall which is lovely but it also lets in lots of city noise. And the sheets were stiff and very noisy when you have four people (two kids and two adults) sleeping in the same room. Over all I would definitely recommend the place, but just keep in mind the noise issue if it's important that you have an undisturbed sleep.
I always stay here its a really great place for the whole family. Excellent for kids there a pool and directly across a couple of great play ground and next door a pub and fasta pasta. Very highly recommend this fine establishment
