While the new shop is a great looking shop with, so it seems, no expense spared on it's image.
Pretty much everything in the shop is outrageously overpriced!
Absolutely disgusted that they have turned their back on the local community and taken to fleecing the holiday makers!
Nearly £2 for a tin of Heinz beans.
Not surprisingly, it's mostly empty of shoppers, even at peak times at the weekend and Fridays lol.
Won't be going back!

ONLY 30 mins to get your food. We had to rush round the store to do our holiday shop within the 30 mins grace before incurring charges. Not an enjoyable experience and prices were overall 25% more expensive. Will not be going back again.

This is such a lovely supermarket. I come to Norfolk every month. I live in the Midlands, we used to have a Budgens, sadly no longer. I love Budgens for the wonderful variety they stock. It's a great supermarket, long may it last here in Norfolk, it's the only place I shop when in Norfolk.

Stupidly expensive and needs another supermarket for competition. Car park charge is an absolute disgrace and even disabled drivers are charged. It's disgusting I would rather see any of the other large supermarket chains in its place and that's saying something.

There was a power cut today, all of Holt closed all morning. 5 STARS to wonderful management and staff of BUDGEONS, Holt for coming up with a strategy to help customers. One by one, customers were escorted around the dark store by a dedicated staff member, torch and calculator handy, totalling prices, then escorting customers to tills. Payments were by cash or a manual card receipts. Staff were so helpful despite being cold, everyone wore their coats but more importantly a smile too!
Wonderful job! Thank you from very grateful and loyal customer!

A small store. ( Big for the town. ) Very clean and the staff are reasonably friendly. Decent sized car park. Admittedly you do have to pay and display but you get a voucher for shopping at the store. Food that you get there is of good quality but you do pay a little more for it. A reasonable gluten free section but nothing frozen. ( Chilled and cupboard food - Yes, Frozen gf - No. )
Overall, a decent store. Would recommend.

Large car park behind the main high street. It is not the most obvious pace to find, but worth persevering. The carpark leads to Applegate yard, a complex of shops, a pub, etc that leads to the main high street.

There was a 1940's weekend on when we visited and it seemed Ike the whole town gets involved with shop window displays, vintage transport, a market and lots of people dressed for the part. There was also a vintage motorcycle display just off the carpark featuring everything from a Honda 50 to Nortons with lots of polished chrome, far cleaner than I ever remember them.

Well worth parking here for your visit to Holt.

I believe it is a family run business, it's prices can be quite reasonable. Though considering the high quality of products, it makes it more viable - for instance their milk seems to last forever before going off. There are many other lovely and price compatible items. And if you go in at the right times, the offers are amazing.
The only downside is the attitude of a couple of members of staff. Which makes it difficult for the nice staff and most of all the customers.
On the whole though I would definitely recommend this supermarket.
I nearly forgot, I've included a picture of a Post Office, as Budgens is also the local Post Office now.

Been coming here when we come to Norfolk for over 6 yrs. Pretty dissatisfied today with fresh meat on offer. Seems ready meals now take precedence.
Quite pleased in the long run as alternative was local butcher, that supplied us some top quality rump steaks and lamb rump.

Budgens of Holt are terrible trying to monopolise everything in Holt their prices are too expensive! The Post Office is a shambles I used to love the o!d Post Office in Ho!t now I go to High Kelling Post Office its a lot better and the shop there is better value than Budgens so segest you do everything at High Kelling Post Office too you will be glad you did as you don't pay there to park while Budgens charge you!!

Lovely shop, the sandwiches were freshly made and delicious. Only needed a few bits for our drive home but we found them easily enough as we've not been in the shop before. Staff helpful and friendly

As a supermarket this should really be called bijou and compact. There is a good choice of groceries, both fresh and frozen. The fresh meats are locally sourced and good quality. The deli has a range of choices and a range products. There is a large car park with the first half hour free, so a speedy shop is best!

I ve just encountered a most disagreeable woman on the check out. There is a sign to wait until previous customer has finished. I thought the sign meant to wait for the customer to finish packing their stuff. I waited for her to pack her shopping with all her bags in the trolly. She was paying, so I put my few bits on the belt. The belt was stationary & I was still in the same position behind the line. The lady barked, EXCUSE ME, this lady hasn t finished! I was no further forward & my shopping was right on the customer end of the belt, stationary, as I previously stated.

I fully understand that the ladies on the checkouts have to be very careful, as they are in the midst of the public. To be honest, the customer in the next checkout was far closer to me than the lady who was about to serve me, so I really couldn t understand the attitude. Maybe the sign should say Please wait until previous customer has finished and left the checkout . There would be no room for doubt, then.

I have found most of the ladies working there to be lovely but not that one. It spoiled my shopping experience & let s face it, it s expensive to shop there but unless we get in our cars & drive elsewhere, those of us who live in Holt, do not have a choice.

I phoned Customer Services (which I ve never done before) but could tell she was just trying to pacify me.

Not a nice experience today, I m afraid.

21/6/ 20 - Of course this is all immaterial due to the terrible fire there, last night. I m so sorry for everyone concerned, as I m sure everybody will be. I send my heartfelt sympathy for this terrible tragedy.

Lovely store, most of the staff are polite and friendly with a couple of older grumpier exceptions. Has everything you need plus a great range of locally sourced fresh selections, prices are pretty steep so would never do a weekly shop here myself.
