Really good pasta, not enough staff. Didn't seem like anyone was managing the place. Staff were working together and helping each other out. We will be back for the food, but need to be prepared for patience

This place has great food and the portions of the food are large so you get your money's worth here. You can also choose your serving size for the food you choose which is another great option and you will more than likely end up with leftovers! Buca has a large variety of appetizers and desserts so you certainly have a lot to choose from. It can get pretty busy here on the weekends so it is a good idea to call ahead or make reservations online in advance. Overall a great place to go for lunch or dinner along with a very friendly staff! Highly recommend!
We had thanksgivng dinner at buca in campbell and the service was Excellent! The manager. CAESAR made sure we got a table , not a booth because my husband has trouble sitting in a booth. Also, the waiter. ROMERO was very helpful, took pictures etc. My sister was visiting and our guest and she was happy. The food was good, especially the pasta with sausage. The Turkey dinner which we Also had was Okay, but could have been better, stuffing dry and no celery, but this is not mother's . The dessert was great, cheesecake, and a nice place and experience. Waiters held the door open when we left, packed up leftovers ,soo nice... thank you CAESAR for making our holiday dinner specially nice and cheerful! The. BRICKMANS
Normally our family loves to eat at Bucca's.. This locations service was not at same levels at other ones we've dined at. The food was good, served hot, but the service from the second we walked in to paying our check was blah, we've been treated nicer at fast food joints or cafes in same area.. We celebrated a birthday here during a non rush busy time to avoid poor or rushed service but ended up with a poor dining experience anyways. Birthday girl wanted to leave before dessert because of it.
We ordered the Frutti DiMar and Baked Ziti. The seafood in the Frutti DiMar was way over cooked. The dish had no taste and lacks salsa, so it was dry as well. The baked Ziti was alright, not great. It should be baked longer in the oven, as it should be browned. The restaurant atmosphere is great and it is romantic. That's the only good thing about it. It is overpriced and overrated. There are plenty of better restaurants out there.
It was some guy, taking a pictures there. He was working drunk, or what?! I do not know what was wrong with him, but he ruined our evening. And the food could be better
This restaurant has the best food I've had in a very long time. It was a fun place to have our birthday party. Thankyou for the wonderful service as well.
The pasta serving sizes here are amazing. When they say it will serve 3 people, it will serve 3 people. However, avoid the lemoncello drink from their dessert menu. It is so bitter and disgusting that I can't believe that it's still on the menu. Their wine selection for dinner is quite good, but avoid the lemon dessert wine.
I came with a large group for a rehearsal dinner. The service was good, but the food was mediocre. The chicken was dry, the bread was stale and the cake was chalky. I'd say it's just a step above Olive Garden. The building was fairly dirty as well, especially the restroom.
A good place to come if you want to eat a LOT of food, but this time around I definitely wasn't impressed by the food that we had. The lasagna wasn't enjoyed by most at our table, and the pastas really lacked flavor and needed to be salted and seasoned much more. From what I can remember from my past visits the food is usually good, but we were not impressed this time. I'd say it's still a fun place to go for a big family dinner.
The food was great. The service wasn't. We kind of felt ignored. It was a long wait to order. They had a guy going around to the tables taking pictures. The pictures were over exposed - everyone was washed out because his flash was too bright.
I lived in N.Y.C for 40 years and now here in the S.F. Bay area here for almost 15, and I've got to say, this is the ONLY, California Italian Restaurant I've been to that is the real thing. We've been to the restaurant maybe 30-40 times over the years, and we've NEVER been disappointed. Real, old fashioned Italian, not pseudo-Italian, not neuvo-Italian. Feels almost like you're Puglia's in NYC Little Italy.....and that's saying something!!!!
Oh waiter how you spilled water over my pants and then proceeded to make a funny little joke out of it, accusing me as the culprit of this wretched mistake, as a means to humor us all. Quite frankly I wouldn't be typing out this review hadn't you just apologized and given me a towel, instead I received a slap to the the face of a poorly executed joke that by no means amused any of my good friends, and napkins rather than a nice towel to dry my pants that remained soaked for the remainder of the night. They also forgot to clean up the ice that was still there on the floor next to my seat that was still present when we left. Now I do not know if that should be considered hazardous since it was on carpet, but you can never be too cautious.
Tried to order food to go and the manager was rude the moment I walked up. I tried to ask if they something that wasn t on this simple menu they offer now and he immediately snapped at me. Anything I tried to ask he kept cutting me off say no! Without me finishing my sentence! RUDE!
Colossal sundae for $14 dollars had no brownies still waiting for a credit from the general manager after 2 months apparently it was emailed to me never received it,no follow up.
Service at the bar was very slow. Asked bar tender for service and both ignored us. Good family restaurant if you like a lot of noise. Ceiling is very low and there were no windows ones you got passed the store front.
Food was bland, and the pasta was so overcooked that is was inedible. The service staff were nice, but undertrained and hardly ever there. I ordered a bottle of wine shortly after we sat down. It took 45 mins for them to bring out a glass of wine. When I pointed out that I ordered the bottle it took another 20mins. They could have made so much more money of our party. Incredibly disorganized. Will never go back.
The food was absolutely delicious. We got the Sunday night special she could have big meatballs and sausage pasta garlic bread. However the garlic bread was late so the waitress comps us a big ol brownie ice cream deal for my son's birthday. And the workers sang happy birthday. Great experience.
Fantastic service. Family style servings; plenty for dine-in plus more to take home. Great value. Busy during weekend dinner time; had to wait about 30 minutes
Server did not bring out bread until asked for. One of the pieces fell on the floor as he was serving and he left it at that, not bringing us another piece. Appetizer and main course was served at the same time, which has never happened before for me at Bucca, or any restaurant for that matter. On the positive side a manager took the appetizer off our bill when so informed.
Lunch at Bucca, Campbell was worst experience EVER... Went w/ hubbie for his birthday and our son. We're not complainers and after 30 yrs of marriage, never once has hubbie returned food. The brussel sprouts were deep fried and burnt and unediblet! The mgr. (Carl) actually said he doesn't even like them. OK, we are happy people and bypassed the lousy service and after spending $125.00 (incl. $35.00 pizza to go)... I received an email from OpenTable as soon we got home saying that they would appreciate next time we can't make reservation to please cancel... So I contacted them and they corrected it... Even after making reservations a week prior by phone and the internet, The hostess marked us as a "no show"...Really? $125.00 no shows? Here's the real scoop... When we arrived, yeah the hostess was a lil bewildered and made us wait while she checked our res.... It was Sunday at 12:45 and they weren't even busy! We were seated way in the back, I mean like "nosebleed section" lol, (we were wondering if it was because our son is in a wheelchair?)... And our waiter, Romeo, "finally" came around and it took him at least 15 minutes to get my wine and water (jokingly I asked him if he had to go out back and stomp the grapes)! More complaints: Had to get up to ask for more water; parmesan ( not fresh btw); pepper flakes; and bill... at least 4 times, when the waiter finally came around, hubbie commented that he "waiter" must be running the whole restaurant and waiter said no just this section... Well there were only three tables with customers and one had left 30 minutes prior and the messy table was not cleaned the whole entire time (in my view). When I called the manager after reading the email, he said we were happy when we left, and I told him it's my husbands birthday and I wanted to leave on a positive note... said goodbye and thank you! Because we are good business people, well mannered and respectable in the business and social community Oh, one other thing, because I'm a diabetic, I wanted a meatball, which states on the menu $8.00 each and waiter told me I had to buy 3... He was actually wrong...
This has become our go to italian place when we are qith vegetarian friends. They have spicy chicken rigatoni which can be made vegetarian by replacing chicken wih veggies and tastes delicious.
The mozzarella garlic bread is an all time favorite too. Last time we tried the tomato basil soup and it was pretty nice too. Wish they had more pasta options with alfredo sauce and their chicken marsala did not have sweet flavor. Then I could rate them 5/5.
I have only been here once and it was whoooof quite a while ago. But I still remember it as if it was yesterday. The experience overall was okay, they had made reservations for my wife's uncle's bday. The room we were in was definitely religious looking and creepy with all the statues and pictures of heads looking at us. The food did not look appetizing at all.. it looked as if it was just tossed into the plate and to make it worse it was COLD. Now let's get to the flavor, there wasn't any good flavor that's for sure but there was a bit of bad flavor. I am only giving this place a 3 star because they probably gave us baby treatment because it was busy that day. Would I go there again ? Nooooo unless the food is free and I would make it just for two people.
Service was SLOW, at least for drinks. Many empty tables so they were not overwhelmed. Veal parm was "chewy" and required many passes with the knife to cut. Ordered cheese manicotti but it never showed up. Maybe it went to join Jimmy Hoffa? Check dropped without asking if we wanted dessert or anything else to drink. Not a great experience... Will go to the Bucca in Campbell before coming here again.
SAD dinner tonight...last time we will eat here. From the inattentive waitress (and no, she wasn t busy at 6:05p on a Tuesday - only two other tables were in her area during our early dinner) to utterly disappointing dishes.
We ordered two small dishes - each said it would serve three people - and a side of green beans. Well, the green beans were delivered alone, and 15minutes before our meal. Uh, really? Ok, we will snack on green beans while we wait... and wait... the bean portion was pretty small, and didn t look very appetizing (several yellowish beans and none of the ends had been trimmed...)
Finally, our two main courses were delivered: 1) chicken and prosciutto (we looked, and looked... and think we found a piece - that was SO small...and almost no cheese was inside) and 2) their Made in Italy special PAPPARDELLE SUGO that was pretty tasty, but sadly there was no more than a single scoop of sauce on 1.5lbs of pasta...and almost no sausage at all (lots of carrot chunks though...) The entire meal was simply lacking.
Two adults and two teenagers, with three dishes that should have served 6+, and barely a cup of plain noodles/no sauce left over. A sad experience at what used to be a great place for a family meal...
UPDATE: it was nice that Buca mgmt reached out and shared they will be looking into what happened the night we were there; hard to know what they'll find, but it is nice to see mgmt watching these forums/reviews ...
The service was EXCELLENT!! The server an Asian lady named Katherine I believe was attentive to our needs and Steven the Manager was awesome in helping us. I recommend this place big time!!!
Bucca's a great place to eat for any occasion. Food's top notch. They will embarrass your birthday celebrant on request using the classic short-serenade-plus-candelabrum manuever, so don't forget to mention it!
