An awesome experience, only marred the excessively noisy party seated next to us. Our waiter was great, and his recommendations on wine, cheese and chocolate were perfect. I hope to have a quieter, more relaxed experience the next time I go.

This is the best fondue restaurant in the Bay Area. The decore is high style and a little off the norm. So not let it scare you. The food is worth it and the price. Excellent cheese fondue course with a nice variety of cheese options and dipping. You can grill or fondue any of the meat options. The options cover exotic meats like elk, alligator, venison, boar, and some fish (tiger shrimp being the most memorable). The dessert options are the best. Some come here just for the dessert fondue (chocolate bases are awesome).

The food was really good, had the chef salad for the first course and the cheddar bacon for the 2nd. For the salad I wish they didn't chop it into such little strips. They let us customize our meat course, more than I thought they would. We used the grill style with the garlic butter. The teriyaki sirloin was my favorite.

I really liked that they were up front about being able to get more dippers for the dessert and cheese courses. I've always felt like I was making a special request at other fondu places.

The only complaint I had was that we were not informed that soft drinks did not have free refills. We ended up paying $18 for soda, and a few of them were mostly ice.

This spot is the one I always prefer. I eat in plenty of restaurants but to this one I keep coming back again and again. The crew is very chummy and the cooking they serve is so yummy. I am always happy to have a decent dinner in this restaurant. I highly recommend this place.

My favorite restaurant ever since 2003! If you ever have to go out to dinner and wish to entertain guests or smooth out any awkwardness, this is the place to go!

The food quality is top notch as is the service!

One of the waiters back in the day opened a franchise in South Lake Tahoe. We still have yet to go, but plan on checking it out if it's still open.

Fantastic place to eat. The waiter was kind and helpful. He explained the proper way to grill and how long so we didn't get sick. Had a salad, cheese fondue, all meats grilling, and chocolate fondue. If you can find the time and $ it's well worth it!

Nice place in the heart of downtown Saratoga. It is expensive, but it's to be expected being in Saratoga. It has very interesting decor, the area that we sat in kind of reminded me of something out of the movie Beetlejuice! Dinner was good and the family had fun, I just wish their meat (some of the exotic ones) was marinated or spiced in some way. Will be great for the purist who just wants to taste the flavor of the meat cooked in butter... Expect to pay between $250-$300 for 4 people if you are drinking alcohol.

Perfect for celebrations, preferably with a large group (to split the expenses). Try out their exotic meats! Their desert fondue options cater to everyone and are a personal favorite for me and my friends! Definitely recommend.

My boyfriend and I came here for our 4 year anniversary and it was such an experience! We got salads, cheese fondue, various meats to grill and their accompanying sauces, and finished it off with chocolate fondue. All of it was absolutely delicious and more than enough for 2 people. We also got a half bottle of champagne and ended up getting two glasses of complimentary champagne to celebrate our anniversary. It was absolutely amazing (although pricey) and we will be returning.

It's a fun time to go with a group of folks, but can be very expensive. Recommend picking up a groupon, which they offer regularly, or going on their free corkage night with a few bottles of wine (I think it's Tues?) to increase the bang for your buck.

Best Fondue anywhere, bar none. This is one of our favorite places. Everything, from the salad, to the cheese fondue, through the main course (we usually get the fondue feast so we can pick a large variety of meats) to the spectacular chocolate fondue desserts deserve the rating.

La Fondue is an upscale fondue restaurant great for groups or a couple on a date. We had "La Freak" which includes every kind of meat the menu offers. You do all the cooking of the meats yourself however, their website includes a full interactive guide of instructions. The cheese fondue is great and the dessert fondue is to die for!

From the moment you step in that restaurant the stuff gives you a pleasant feeling. Very courteous stuff, it is a good restaurant to enjoy with friends or with your date. Great cooking, experienced chef de cuisine, honest pay and professional service. Highly recommended.

Delicious food, great ambiance and deco. Be aware of the misleading menu. The hostess told us prices were for two but they were for each person! Add-ons are also per item and not for the set.
It's a shame there is no further clarification from the waiting staff.

Great romanic restaurant. Lighting is a bit dim for my taste but the food is great. Make sure to arrive with an empty stomach to have room for salad, cheese fondue, meat fondue, and chocolate fondue...

My husband and I took advantage of a groupon. The food was very good.

We got the four cheese. The dippers were good. The boiled potatoes were unique.

The salad was huge. At the suggestion of our server we asked him to just box it up.

The real fun came when the plate of meat showed up. We decided to grill as our cooking style. It was a great suggestion from our server. It was all yummy. I would have liked more veggies to grill but those were an additional charge unless the were part of the dippers for the cheese. It was very hard to see if our food was cooked correctly because it was too dark in the restaurant. However it was really funny to see other people using their cellphone flashlights to see what they were doing. I pulled mine out a couple of times too.

It seems as if the serving staff was not communicating well with each other. A couple of times we were asked the same questions by two or three different servers.

Dessert was chocolate. The dippers were awesome.

Overall a nice time but not worth a second visit.

The wife and I LOVED the entire experience. Adam was great! He was helpful with the entire meal and experience. We did the Le Freak and it was FANTASTIC!!!! The tablet with the cook times was very nice to have. The Dark Mix was phenomenal. We will be returning soon!

So. Full. Used a Groupon which came with a HUGE plate of meats for grilling. Didn't even come close to finishing! Despite being stuffed, we still gave dessert a go. Toffee in the chocolate fondue was the best.

Sad to say that La Fondue has become boring. We have gone there for special occasions for over 20 years and not much on the menu has changed. It would be great if the chef could come up with some new marinades, dippers, etc. Our buttermilk bacon cheese fondue was gloppy and had no flavor. I will say that the Truffle mushroom cheese was fabulous.

Visited La Fondue last night with a friend, we had a groupon otherwise we would not have been able to afford.

We arrived early and were seated quickly. The atmosphere is very nice as so was the wait staff. The salads were wonderful. When it came time for the fondue the waiter and I were talking about the dipping options and I mentioned I have celiacs. He immediately caught onto that and explained the cheese he used was tossed with wheat to thicken and asked if it would cause me harm. I said it would. He then cleared the table and came back with an entirely new fondue pot and cheese that had been tossed in cornstarch to thicken instead.

The fondue was delicious! When the dipping elements came the staff made sure the bread was on the other side of the table from me and when the meat came out they made sure all the meats that had been marinated with a component I could not eat were on a separate platter. I very much appreciated that.

The entire experience was enjoyable. The only downside was my glass had a chip in it and when they cleared the plates from the salad service they failed to bring new plates out for the meats so my friend and I just brought the meat from the grill to our mouths. We dripped on the table but it was a lot of fun. We actually did not realize we were supposed to have plates until we looked at the people next to us and saw they had plates! So that was our fault also. The groupon ($155.00) did nor cover all the charges. I still had to pay a $14.00 fee. And I honestly do not feel the meal was worth, what the receipt said it was worth $405.00. But it was a fun night.

Don t bother-there are far better restaurants nearby.
The room was too dark, the decor atrocious, the menu confusing, and portions far too small for the astronomical prices. The only consolation was that our server worked hard to make the evening pleasant. I regret that I do not have his name with me as we could not hear him well due to bad acoustics around our booth.
We wanted this to be a special evening-but it was anything but enjoyable.
So sad!

two days ago was the first time we visited this restaurant. But It is surely not the last. We passed a splendid evening with the excellent service, with the excellent meal and fine drinks and with the comfortable price. We will surely go back there in a short time.

It's a fun experience, but just average for the dollars spent. Our waitress was pleasant, but too busy to be there when we needed her. The decor--other reviews commented on the strangeness of it, but it's fun! The pink room is pretty, and it is probably one of the more quiet places in the restaurant so I recommend reserving there if you can. As far as the food goes the salad is awesome! We had the traditional cheddar fondue, which was nice. I could have used some fresh ground pepper to kick it up a notch. Grilling the meat from our platter is where things kind of broke down. Because our waitress was so busy she forgot to turn the burner up after the cheese fondue was removed and with the dark atmosphere we couldn't really see how well things were cooking. After not seeing our waitress for ten minutes we turned up the heat on our grill and the second round of meat bits were better. She came back and turned down our grill and then we turned it up again.. back and forth a couple times, I normally wouldn't encourage taking matters into your own hands but if you don't you might be sitting there forever and still get undercooked chicken. The highlight of the evening was the chocolate turtle fondue on flambe--strawberries, spice cake balls were lovely! It was a nice experience but I'll probably just use my own fondue pot next time. also if you don't drink or don't want to drink the root beer on tap is amazing and I hear they have kombucha on tap too!

Pretty good ambience. Pretty good experience.

Pretty good ambience. Pretty good experience.
Only thing is the sizes of the cheese servings are bit small. To be fair you get two salads with a fondue serving but I'd rather break those two apart too so I am not forced to get salad just for ordering another order of cheese!

We got the combination plate, which was a four-course meal. We started with the cheese fondue, we got the cognac pesto--it was delicious. Next was the salads. Then on to the main course. We had kangaroo, antelope, venison, wild boar, colossal shrimp, and shark. It works so that you cook it yourself--we had opted for the grill method. Each meat was wonderful, and grilled easily. Finally, we had the chocolate fondue (white chocolate with amaretto). I'm not a big chocolate person, but I was still devouring it. After the chocolate we were all stuffed. Overall, it was an excellent and thoroughly enjoyable meal/experience.

Two negatives, it is steep (the meal alone was about $100 w/o the drinks (that is for 2)), and there were no high-chairs. It definitely isn't the best place for smaller kids, though both of ours really enjoyed the food.

Finally, be prepared to sink some time. We were there for over 2 hours, eating the whole time.

Made a reservation the day before our meal and was lucky to nab a good time! We arrived 15 minutes before our reservation. Valet is $11 without tip. There was lots of people that day so finding a parking spot was hard to find.

The hostess checked us in and we waited about 15 minutes as our table was set up. We were seated right on time. The decor is eclectic and dark (literally the restaurant is dim). Allow your eyes to adjust or you might walk into a wall.

We got a Wild Thing and Surf and Turf a la cart for 4 of us. A la cart came with salad (chef or spinach), cheese fondue, grill, and then the chocolate fondue. We went with a mushroom fondue with truffle oil. It was pretty good! They had bread, picked veggies, normal veggies, and fruits that can be dipped in the cheese fondue. After that came the grill. For the Wild Thing, there was exotic meats like ostrich, boar, venison, alligator, etc. I did hope they could have little tags, I could not remember what I was eating. Although all good especially with the butter and the 6 yummy dipping sauces.

It s safe to say that although we were stuffed, we were not going to let dessert go untouched. There is an assortment of things to dip (fruits, candy bars, cake, etc) all of which you can ask for more of.

Definitely a very worth it meal. The bill with tip and tax came out to be about $500. We did have 2 half bottles of wine plus a glass of champagne.

Overall - would go back again to celebrate special occasions any time!

Fun and different, with large portions (but the food is so good you keep wanting more!) and great service, this is a great place for a special occasion. Decor is fun and festive. Cheese fondues are a great way to get the meal started, my personal favorite is the Schweitz, a 4 cheese combo with a Swiss theme punctuated with Kirschwasser. The Fondue Feast for the main entree provides plenty of tasty variety, and the dessert fondue's are just amazing - the Chocotastic is a divine dark chocolate combination that provides a fantastic finish to a great meal.

Right now there is a killer Groupon going on for La Fondue. It is a really great deal, and actually what brought us in. For $155 you get a la Freek dinner. Basically a cheese fondue starter, a sampler of all their meats, dessert fondue and a bottle of wine. It is a ridiculous amount of food! Of course it is fondue, which is fun and something different. The ambiance is dark and romantic. This makes for a great date night. We have been here a couple of times and service has always been great. Please remember if you do use a Groupon tip on the original total.

Been coming here for a couple decades and still love it. The prices are high, but for special occasions it's such an enjoyable experience.

Personally, I find the meat fondue to be the least interesting aspect of the meal. It takes a lot of time and effort. It's also dark so difficult to see how well the meat is cooked. And it's hard to keep track of what meat is what.

The cheese and chocolate more than make up for it. I highly recommend the cajun cheddar. And I could eat the dark chocolate with cookie dough, cheesecake balls, and Snickers all day.
