I am a botanical garden freak.
I thought American parks were big and no big deal, but it's good here. You should definitely visit here as well as Central Park.
The one that dropped 1 star is the red torii gate in the Japanese garden. Speaking of charm, it is until that time, but what about the ones you care about?
It doesn't reach the park in London, but it's great.

I loved. If you go on Saturdays between 8 am and 12 pm, admission is free. First we started with the Japanese garden, but the second time we went we decided to start on the right side and see the rose garden, then the cherry trees, then the conifers and go all the way around, leaving for the last the magnolia garden, the garden from Shakespeare and finally the Japanese garden.

For us Europeans, this botanical garden is nothing really special, because in our cities such gardens have been found in the middle of the metropolises for decades. In Vienna, these are usually accessible free of charge. However, we had a bit of time for the park during our one-week stay.

Basically, we expected a little bit different, since the description online gave the impression that the system would rather focus on Asian design. In the end it was a collection of international vegetation that was nicely prepared and also invited to relax in autumn.

In any case, you should always take a look at the Internet beforehand to see if the garden has opened, because in November it was closed on Monday and unlocked later on the other days than in October.

The garden is very nice, but not a must-see either. If you are around, you can take it with you. If you go through comfortably, then you need almost two hours.

Being an adult or a child, everyone will find something for themselves! It is literally a storehouse of positive energy and light cities. The local authorities tried hard and made a real jungle inside the city. It just wants to walk and walk. There are plenty of shops and places for recreation. No one will leave here without a mountain of photos and an incredible array of positive emotions. Local doctors are conducting courses of therapy and yoga, walking pets and families. This is the place where you want to come back again and again.
To relax on the lawn there are specially designated places. Graduates of colleges here conduct rituals for beginners
Very steep courses of psychotherapy taking place in nature so here are in demand. It's incredible that mankind could create such an artificial way and even support it for its descendants! So in every city and ecology would only get better, looking at all the nightmares that people create with their future

It was winter and raining when I visited, but even so the Japanese garden is simply amazing. And there are some indoor places that can be visited too. Also, as it's a winter weekday the admission was free.

The garden is beautiful, with lots of interesting things to see - a greenhouse with tropical plants, a garden with interesting flora, plus displays of various flowers. The territory is beautiful, and very pleasant to spend time in. Especially interesting in spring.

I went on a dreary day in February so most things were dead. However, the beauty was still there. The gardens are huge and you could spend quite some time getting lost among the sculpted nature.

Love the gardens. Been visiting here from the first day I moved to Brooklyn, and I always find new amazing things here. Some of the exhibition presented here over the years are something you see once in a life time.

I realize this place has around 6, 000 reviews, however, it must be said exactly what a magnificent job the staff members here does. I learn much every time I'm below. Grounds and greenhouses are generally breathtaking, and something is actually in bloom. Plan an outing to see different plants of their prime!! (Lilac road, Azalea Means, Rose garden).

We went at the beginning of October and the park was very neglected and under construction. If you are near, it is the free day and you do not have another plan you can go for a nice walk, like in any park.

This is a beautiful botanic gardens, very easy to get to via mass transit and you can easily spend multiple hours there. It's an oasis in the city and a must-do for anyone who wants to say they know Brooklyn. The design of the park is pretty straightforward so it's a nice place just to go walking around.

They teach young minds about botany and give opportunities for summer programs like Project Green Reach allowing the garden to cooperate with schools and then choosing students to join their program for a six week summer program and a graduation on the day after the last day.

If you want a break from the fast moving urban setting, the Brooklyn Botanical Garden provides it. Don't miss the top notch bonsai collection in the conservatory. Some of these little living sculptures are well over a hundred years old. The Japanese Garden is another highlight and is especially nice in the spring when the weeping cherry trees are in bloom.
The annual Cherry Blossom Festival is fun but very crowded with lots of Japanese cultural performances.
If you have the time, Prospect Park is right there and is worthwhile.
Note: if you are willing to travel up to the Bronx, the New York Botanical Garden is arguably even nicer (they have more space and a fabulous conservatory and regularly have great special exhibitions).

Very large botanical garden with various species (aquatic, tropical, desert ...). Very nice with the birds singing.
There is a Japanese garden too, very beautiful.
$ 8 for a student rate. And I stayed 3h it seems to me, we can stay much more in my opinion. It is a very good place to walk in love or like me to look for references to draw.

What an enjoyable place to spend the day. So peaceful, you can lay on the grass to enjoy the quietness & the serenity. Nice to walk around at your own pace and enjoy nature, enjoy the beauty The Botanical Gardens has to offer. Definetley feels as if your away from the hussel & bussel of everyday life. My favorite was all the precious butterflies/bees flying all around the beautifully fragrant flowers. More than enough parking spots on the premises so that's not a concern. The staff/security are so helpful when asking questions too. And the gift shop has so many nices things.

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is definitely worth a visit! The first time we went there was on Monday, but the door was closed, so we came again two days later, very lucky we came again. This is a big botanical garden, there are many things to visit and appreciate. Just across from Prospect Park, passing through the zoo, this botanical garden presents a world of its own. They closed some areas due to grass maintenance and replanting, but we basically visited most of the botanical garden. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The botanical garden has a particularly good collection and exhibition of various plant growth environments, from deserts to tropics. It was such a wonderful morning. My husband and I enjoyed so many beautiful, splendid and exciting scenery!

Beautiful and well maintained gardens of all varieties. Id recommend the herbal garden, the Japanese garden, and the rose garden for their pleasant walks. I received a free membership for getting an idnyc card which any Brooklyn folk should look into. Free admission on Tuesdays and Saturday mornings so you have no excuse not to visit.
