The great escap!. Fun yet soothing place to destress. Tour the greenhouse . Grab a coffee or a meal. Read a book or bring your sketch book. Enjoy the gift shop. Affordable and even free during certain parts of the winter.

Absolutely great place to spend time with kids. Even though it's a bit small like someone mentioned, or if they offered a coffee without lid in a garden cafe like someone mentioned, is all nothing, compared to the time you spend with your family and kids in Brooklyn Botanical garden. Absolutely recommend.

I went with my friend to botanical garden today. We loved everything that we saw but tulips were the best part. The colors of tulips were the colors of the rainbow.
It was stunning and some tulips we never seen before.
The beautiful trees all around, we totally enjoyed walking around and being surrounded by spring and its beauty.

I have been a member here for years. It is truly a little bit of paradise in the city. There is always something new happening, something new blooming. Birds love to alight here and I can spend hours watching the Koi and turtles in the Japanese garden!

Gardens beautiful as always.

Gardens beautiful as always.

It it not recommended to go there wearing a mask as you will be walking and it will be hard to breath and enjoy picture taking.

I would wait till mask wearing is past.

I came here out of town for a maternity shoot and I had so much fun with all the different aspects of this place. I loved all of the scenery, especially the boat house area. It was quiet but there were people still there. It was a nice spring day so it wasn't too hot, or cold. You get a lot of good shade because of all of the trees so even if the sun is out, you get some relief. I can't wait to visit again.

Lovely garden. The had a Tori gate and a little Japanese style house that you could go in. They had some koi fish and a turtle in the pond as well. I thoroughly enjoyed the herb and veggie garden as well. It's great to see normal things like that in a botanical garden and they had good information on how you can start a tiny garden at home too.

This place is so gorgeous. I enjoyed all their plants and nature. They had a section where you saw different plants growing in different climates. It was lovely and peaceful too. They also had a section with cherry blossom trees that you can sit and relax. Bring a blanket to sit! Highly recommend this place.

Beautiful garden to go to. Was a little dissapointed because a lot of things were under construction but they did give us passes to go again this year which was nice even though we cant make it back.

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is a lovely escape from normal city life. Lush, green, full of fresh air and chirping birds, it's possible to forget you're in NYC. The rose garden in particular is bright and fragrant and makes for a delightful stroll. The Japanese gardens are shaded and lovely too; I liked the secluded shrine in particular. Employees are cheerful, knowledgeable, and clearly happy with their jobs. A nice place to spend an afternoon, especially if you're able to slip away while everyone else is at work.

Love love love this place! Their displays show lots of care and effort, I d love to spend an entire day here next time when I have time. It s a shame I came in winter and their Japanese garden is closed for renovation, but their conservatory is awesome, and the bonsai collection is still open to visitors. Their themed gardens (although most plants are not in season) are gorgeous too, it s so fun walking into Shakespeare garden and spotting quotes I recognize. I was never too fond of Shakespeare during high school but this has sparked my interest and I might go and read his other works that weren t part of curriculum. This botanic garden is the perfect little place to bring your date or your kids for a meaningful and fun afternoon.

Attended a class in the admin center; great class but oddly the center had some admin issues. Also, if the class starts at 1000 let people go sit down in the class at least 5-10 before class.

It was okay. When I went, the venue was packed due to my visit being on a weekend and coinciding with the date for a special event at the venue. Probably a lot better during the week when it is less busy.

I love the botanical garden, but unfortunately now with the overlook project started half of the place is closed and under construction. I'm sure it will be beautiful when done, but I do wish they had finished the current water course project before starting a second one. As I said it's like half closed which kinda sucks.

The BBG is one of my favorite attractions to visit on the weekends. In the spring and summer, I can always find a quiet corner to sit and read. In the winter, the conservatory is like taking a quick vacation to a tropical forest without leaving the borough. There is a small cafe in the main building for coffee and a pastry and The Yellow Magnolia Cafe is where you can grab a small meal by the conservatory. The gift shop has some nice stuff including books, notecards, housewares, and of course plants. They'll stop you from bringing in coffee or food, so keep that in mind.

A beautiful botanical garden with lots of sections to see. In about four hours, everything is visited. There are two bars and a small restaurant. Under the space greenhouses in the shade with a fountain of fresh water. A must see

My home away from home. Construction lately is a bummer, especially since the member rates increased, but the new areas are excellent. Year-round sights and peaceful nooks around every turn. Highly recommend.

A WONDER GROWS IN BROOKLYN

A WONDER GROWS IN BROOKLYN
For over a century now, the BBG has surprised millions not expecting lush, cultivated greenery deep inside New York City s most populous borough. The pleasures and wonders range from new waterways, a transcendent Japanese garden that slows the heartbeat, and a tangle of trees and local plants bordered by Flatbush Avenue. Each year, the BBG has a cherry blossom festival that brings throngs of thousands and thousands but come alone or in a couple in the rain or after a heavy snowfall for a true respite from urbanity.

Peaceful, beautiful, very well cared for. The gardens are truly amazing, some honoring particular people. The cherry field is very beautiful, the Chinese garden with its lake, traditional ornaments and greenery is great. It has a childish part, like "explorers" that is very cool. If you are allergic to pollen (especially if you go in the spring), go prepared. There is an exhibition of bonsai, greenhouses that simulate different climates (desert, tropics and a third that I do not remember). There are restaurants, fast food, souvenir shop selling seeds of many vegetables, spices, vegetables, fruits and of course, a nursery. It offers free admission on Friday mornings (I can't quite remember the times).
