Even though it is winter there is still plenty to see and enjoy! Spring or summer would be an even better time to visit.
Love, love, love this place! We live nearby and visit spring, summer , fall and winter. Always something to see, sometimes in spring a riot of blooming and colors, other times are quiet but pleasant just to walk and observe. Yesterday the spring time cardinals were out in force, singing their brains out looking for the girls. Quite a place!
Our Beloved Place , my family and i adore this wonderful garden
Definitely better than I expected. The Japanese garden is really cute. I wish there were more flower variety but it was great and I would go again.
This garden is very hug and fascinating...I never saw so many great sculptures in a garden like I did in this place.
We need more than half day to really enjoy the place, the flowers, the sculptures..and the whole garden.
Beautiful, even during the winter months. It's a very relaxing space amidst bustling Brooklyn. Be sure to take advantage of the low fares and even free fares during special seasons.
Beautiful Grounds & Gardens.
Inexpensive admission: adults $15; children under 12 are Free! You can go out and return to the grounds (the same day) if you get your hand stamped when leaving.
There was a lot of construction happening so we couldn't get through everything.
I love the Rose Gardens
Sprinklers were fun to run through. (It was a hot day).
It's nice place to hang out with family and friends. Some of areas are under construction which is sad that we did not get a chance to see the whole park.
Beautiful as always, get there early to avoid any crowds
Wonderfully relaxing, educational without any preachiness.
It could be a little more careful and they could organize the queue at the entrance much more efficiently.
The area of Japan is spectacular
Breath taking sums it up. The Yellow Magnolia Cafe is worth a visit when there. Food was amazing. Perfect for a walk with the kids.
+ Located close to subway
+ Clean
+ Very nice Japanese garden with Sakura trees
+ Cherry alley
- closes too early
One of the best gardens, if you come during the right times. Would suggest around late April and early May. The rose gardens are very beautiful. Plenty of flowers to see.
Is it a coincidence that the most beautiful so called natural place in NYC is a man made place? LOL. It is beautiful. Beautiful in a way that on different days you will see different things. Coming here a lot, and still not enough.
Well organized, beautiful spot in Brooklyn. The Rose garden in June was fantastic. The Japanese pond was also very detailed.
If you're tired of busy Manhattan and want to enjoy your time, be sure to visit!
It feels like a central park that goes in and out, but you will be able to save a lot of more cute and pretty pictures The entrance fee may feel a little expensive, but I think it's okay to see it at such a price even though it is a cloudy day :)
Please note that there are cafes and restaurants inside, but cafes do not offer lattes! I ate chicken sandwich but it tasted good~
I was there for an annual event that was showcasing foods from different cultures. The decor and staff were lovely. The staff made sure that we *participants of the event* were comfortable and prepared with ease.
I've been to NYC dozens of times, but until this year, I hadn't ever spent much time in Brooklyn. My friend wanted to go to the Botanic Garden, though, so we went for a few hours one morning. I wasn't expecting an amazing experience, but it was actually pretty cool, especially the bonsai trees! They were so cool! The rose garden was also great, and the cherry blossoms area was so relaxing -- I just wish I had been there about a month earlier to catch the blossoms in time! It was still really pretty, though, and people lounged around reading and just hanging out in nature. If I lived in Brooklyn, I'd get a season pass to the Gardens for sure.
The Brooklyn Botanical gardens were beautiful! They have a "Shakespeare Garden" that features plants mentioned in Shakespeare plays and sonnets, including some plaques with the quotes. The conservatory building is very awesome, and open year-round (I saw it in Summer) with a desert dome, a rainforest dome, and others. It's easy to get to on transit, and you can basically just walk from one entrance to the other. We spent about 2 hours but there's also places where you could sit and have a picnic on the grass, or sit on any of the many benches sprinkled through the gardens. Part of it is currently closed for renovation but I didn't even notice because there was plenty to see! Friday mornings have free admission.
Amazing Garden! I went here for the Cherry Blossom Festival and it opens at 9am. I got there at 9:10 am and there was a line to get in. took us about 30 minutes. annual member for two is $80 i think. $6 to get in with Student ID and $9 to get in for regular admission. Enjoy!
Beautiful garden all year around. Contains several different themed gardens so if you come to visit plan to spend at least a couple of hours to walk through the whole thing. Several entrances for each of access, depending on what you are closest to. Also offers fun classes and has a great gift shop!
Spent a couple of hours here. Welcome respite from Manhattan crowds. Don't miss Japanese garden.
Place is so quite and neutral beauty is very charming. It was so good to be there one afternoon. Instead of going Central Park I would rather go there. Just loved this garden.
Was a good enjoying experience. It was peak blossom, beatiful. Very well maintained, variety of beatiful flowers, plants. I liked specially climate maintained plants and trees from desert , tropical etc. Eating in restaurant is very costly. Entry road was a bit narrow and conjested. If you don't get free road parking then you need to pay $15.
Very beautiful ! Especially in the Sakura season in March
I have only visited this place during the Sakura Matsuri festivals and each of those times have been incredibly beautiful. The place just takes your breath away with the cherry blossoms.
If you are a nature lover this is a must visit place. There are lots of trails to walk, some indoors exhibitions of plants, and this place is specially magical during spring for the cherry blossom (towards the end of april). Check their website, they usually offer a free entry day depending on the season.
I was given free passes from my local library and decided to take a friend on an adventure. It was entirely worth it. If you love flowers and nature as much as I do then you will have a beautiful time. There is so much area to cover both indoors and out. If you re big on photography you will have the time of your life documenting this great garden. The gift shop is also lovely. There s something for everyone at the garden and I encourage you to bring your friends or family when the weather is nice. You ll have a great time!
Always a fun time with my daughter there, lots to see and learn
Korean rodhodendrons, magnolias, cherries... What a beautiful garden
I love it, good to take Pictures and take the family
Went during the Sakura Matsuri and it was gorgeous. Fun cosplayers and events were everywhere! I regret never having gone before, but I'll be going again from here on! There was a tea ceremony event, origami, food, art... Endless things to do. Highly recommended!
Beautiful, beautiful gardens! And really wonderful events - the Chile Fiesta and the Cherry Blossom Festival among others. If you need peace and quiet and a real slice of nature, come here.
There are many new things to learn while walking and enjoying - water, spices, rainforest. It's free until noon on Fridays.
One of the best botanical gardens I've ever been to, in the spring is a real show, you can not miss it !!!
Beautiful place to walk or sit and read. Fun events throughout the summer. Worth a visit if you are in the area.
Great place for families. Free on Fridays before noon and during cold off season months entrance is free on Wednesdays.
Amazing place, join it's not expensive and it opens up to you including their Library.
A great fall day to enjoy the beautiful views and nature.
Stunning. Perfect for the bit of late Winter almost-spring that I needed.
This is a lovely place for you and your family to go and spend time together it's a great place for children to learn about plants and the environment as well as a good place to take selfies
I had a beautiful experience here at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. It has many different types of pretty flowers that are gorgeous to look at. It is a fun place for the children to get to know about the nice things in the world around them and how things grow. The different sections of the garden are in bloom during different seasons, so some times there are prettier things to look at than at other times. I liked that there was such a big variety of plants that were clearly labeled.
So much fun Thankyou so much for the administration to keep place in our lives
Go in the spring! The most impressive is the space of the Amazon rainforest. Inside is a humid heat of 40 degrees!
Seriously beautiful, and my son absolutely loved this place. Parking was easy enough and close to the front of the garden. Great activities for children and so incredibly beautiful!
Nice place to visit during the summer time, to see all types of exotic plants and flowers.
What an experience!!
Rose garden is superb.
Very nice garden. Friday until 12 o'clock (noon) free admission. Currently under renovation, therefore only four stars.
A wonderful place to relax. Beautiful and interesting. You can spend here about 3 hours.
