Beautiful cherry blossoms of various kinds. Beautiful tulip bulbs too. I went there during the spring. Make sure to buy tickets online to avoid long lines. Go to the restroom first before going around the garden.

Visited BBG for the first time during the Sakura Matsuri for the cherry blossom festival. More than half the trees were bare and there was no organization at all. The line to purchase tickets was somewhat organized until you reached the ticket window where all hell breaks loose. It was poorly organized and poorly planned since they ran out of programs within the gardens and you had to leave and fight the crowds to receive one outside the front gate. I always heard these botanical gardens were better than the NY botanical garden but I have yet to see how.

A walk of the most instructive without the constraints of a guide or an imposed circuit. I visited this park in the spring, but it is certainly beautiful in all seasons.
Should be a must during a visit to New York.

What a treasure the Gardens are! We visited a ton when we lived in Brooklyn and every time was a delight. The kids sensory garden is especially amazing - but the magnolias in bloom are to die for! Even in the depths of winter the huge greenhouses, which are kept tropically warm, have enough to entertain and educate for at least a few hours. Kudos to the management who make it very accessible through various community ticket schemes - we rarely had to pay entry fees. Just awesome.

Amazingly beautiful especially in Spring season. A must visit at the end of April or first week of May to witness the beautiful Cherry Blossom trees, tulips of almost all the colors and many different types of flowers.

The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens was an excellent short one-day trip we ate at the Magnolia Cafe which was a very quaint peaceful quiet elegant place I found the food that I ordered to be very tasty and seems like it was handled buy a very good chef they serve you with respect and smiles and the atmosphere is calm and peaceful it's enclosed so you can look out windows that cover the full length of the restaurant and you can see the grounds outside which is a very nice atmosphere everything is clean security was high the indoor plants for excellent we walk the grounds a little bit there were Ducks little ponds small Bridges lots of different walking agendas through the grounds of the botanical Gardens a Brooklyn people friendly child friendly comfortable place to be

The gardens were beautiful but that had really poor signage. We had trouble finding the entrance of the indoor gardens and got lost a few times. It was quite pretty once we found are way around.

Not a place for very small children during the cherry blossoms. No blankets allowed on the grass so that the area is preserved for photos. No flexibility for wet ground a toddler who needed a break. Also, if you buy tickets in advance you are still asked to wait on the full line for the ticket window.

This is my favorite place in NYC and the best botanical garden in the area. Check their website for the cherry blossom schedule and head there when they're in bloom! It's a beautiful experience. The only downside is how strict they are about where you are allowed to sit in the grass, there are definitely not enough seating areas to not allow people to sit on the grass.

I'm seldom in NYC in the summer so I really wanted to visit one of the Botanic gardens and we happened to be in Brooklyn. The BBG is a bit of paradise in the midst of concrete and is currently under threat from planned high rise buildings, buildings that would block the sunlight and damage the gardens. People need these kinds of civic spaces where they can walk in grass, enjoy flowers and plants of all types and climates, and soothe their souls. It would be an immeasurable loss if the gardens were damaged in the name of construction, and I hope they'll be preserved for years to come.

Beautiful grounds. There were so many places to walk. Stroller accessible with different separate gardens throughout. I'm going to go next year when the Cherry blossom trees are in bloom. I've heard it's quite beautiful.

I love the Botanical Gardens. It is beautiful and peaceful. They have a lot of different workshops and classes. Check the schedule online or give them a call about the schedule. You could take your class to visit the gardens. It is an educational and fun day

This place is wonderful, full of life, of colors. The trails allow you to take a complete tour so you don't miss any corner. There you can take excellent photos with a simply spectacular natural background. I totally recommend this place and if you go on a Tuesday the visit is free.

Very nice garden to walk around in the morning time! I love the fact that entrance is FREE on Friday mornings from 8am-12pm. There is a nice variety of mini gardens within the Brooklyn botanic and the plants are arranged nicely so that there's always something in bloom to view. I like the Japanese garden, but as a mom, it is tricky to navigate and maneuver through if you have a stroller.

This review has nothing to do with the gardens themselves, which are beautiful and we always enjoy our time visiting.

This review is for the visitor services team, specifically the Director of Visitor Services.

We purchased tickets to the gardens for Sunday 8/16. After I purchased the tickets, I realized that there was an option to choose "Free Week" tickets. Unfortunately, the website did not state when "Free Week" was, it just gave you the option to select free tickets. I did not want to run into an issue when we arrived (since they were operating with timed ticket entrance during the pandemic) and I opted to just purchase the tickets at full price. Upon inquiry to the visitor services team, I was told that it is in fact "Free Week" and that they agreed that they should probably put the dates up on the website. I proceeded to ask if I could get a refund on my full price tickets, so I could choose the free ones instead.

This turned into a long email chain of back and forth with both the visitor services team (multiple staff members) AND their ticket service provider. Ultimately, the Director of Visitor Services told me that she felt that all of the necessary information for Free Week was up on the website and that it was entirely my fault for purchasing full priced tickets. She did not seem to understand that I reached out 4 days before our trip to request an exchange or a refund, that we NEVER went to the gardens and redeemed our full price tickets, and that it was ultimately my fault and "per their policy" she would not be giving me a refund. Even though there was zero exchange of value or resources.

It certainly felt like a power trip experience and I am baffled that they would not refund two tickets to two people who never even redeemed the tickets and tried to reach out more than 72 hours in advance.

10/10 - We always recommend the gardens to friends and family
0/10 - We do not recommend any interaction with Visitor Services as they are not very nice. Do not expect flexibility, understanding, or human decency.

Security said only my baby could sit in the blanket I rolled out in the garden. With a welcome like that, I recommend sticking to Prospect Park. There are plenty of blooming cherry trees in Clinton Hill and elsewhere.
