I'm seldom in NYC in the summer so I really wanted to visit one of the Botanic gardens and we happened to be in Brooklyn. The BBG is a bit of paradise in the midst of concrete and is currently under threat from planned high rise buildings, buildings that would block the sunlight and damage the gardens. People need these kinds of civic spaces where they can walk in grass, enjoy flowers and plants of all types and climates, and soothe their souls. It would be an immeasurable loss if the gardens were damaged in the name of construction, and I hope they'll be preserved for years to come.
