Easy subway access, lots of animals, stroller accessible
You need to walk a great deal in order to see every single animal. Don't go on Wednesday when it is free. It is too crowded.
They have added a zipline and rope course which is run independently from the zoo. It's a separate fee and membership discounts are accepted. The company in charge id's called tree top adventures. There is also a haunted house with a $4 free per member or $6 fur non-members. It's ok. But enjoyable if you want to scare your young kids. Lol.
I don't like Zoos. But at the same time i understand that sometimes this is safe and good place for some animals. My kid was amazed and had a very very good time there knowing animals and watching them behave which was a good experience for him.
I have always loved this place! Ever since I was a wee little boy.
Madagascar was the best however didn't get to see a lot of displays as they were closed. We visited from Vermont and met my son and his girlfriend there (from VA). I understand the weather this time of year, however people should forewarned.
was the best of what I saw
Did VIP tour a must do. Private tour. Guide was fabulous. Meet and greet room with selected animal just wonderful. The handlets were so much fun gave you an experience of a lifetime
Had a great time. Went on a wendsday when admission was free but we paid 14.99 to get the total experience and it was worth it. The monorail was awesome and staff was very professional.
Wonderful trip with my students. ...the Congo was great. ..especially on a rainy day
Great fun zoo for children!! Three parking lots with lots of parkibg space.
Camel ride is only open from Wednesday to weekends until memorial day and then open for the whole week
Absolutely love the Bronx Zoo. I have been going there since I was a kid and now I get so much fun watching my 7 year old get excited during each visit (we have been bringing him to the zoo since he was 3 months old)!
The new Dinosaur Safari is a blast! My son loves dinosaurs and had so much fun seeing and learning more about each displayed in the exhibit.
Such a large zoo; wear comfortable sneakers because lots of walking. We have yet to visit every exhibition in one day!
It's a must go, especially if you kids... Highly recommended for tourists and locals.
A super fun experience.
Haven t been to zoo in years and this was so much fun, we went during week days so it wasn t too busy. The animals were everywhere and some were also walking free (peacock, turkeys etc)
Only thing a little annoying is most food and drink kiosk were closed because it wasn t over crowded so it was a little complex to get things to drink or eat without walking 20/30 min.
Lots of the attractions. Requires an additional experience tickets which was a little frustrating.
Overall good time there
This is a must see place if you are in NY. Great place to come and enjoy with family. All types of family friendly activities. Not only a great experience, but a way to support a cause for animals and nature. COME ON WEDNESDAY, ITS FREE! If you are a visitor. My wife and I have been members of the zoo for 4 years now, and love coming here 4 to 5 times per summer. This place Never gets old. We love everything this place stands for.
Love this place our family has the annual membership best money spent.
Huge and very well maintained. Check out the gorillas, they'll make you stay a while
We love the Bronx Zoo so much that my 2 children practically grow up there. They both even had jobs there and love it.
Great place but you need to take all day to see all the attractions and animals there!!!
Overall it's an exciting place for my young children. However, it is expensive ... Making the annual pass a good value of you come a lot. Otherwise, the main portion of the zoo is free on Wednesdays. I do appreciate that they are trying to expand the activities for kids by adding the nature trek section ... but otherwise certain special add ons are not worth it if you don't have the annual membership where it's all included. I've never found the tram to be exciting. And the fact that if didn't have the annual membership, i would have to pay extra just to see certain animals ... annoys me as it's an obvious money grab. But i guess all the money supports the zoo, so i don't mind paying for their overpriced food. But bring your own if you want to save, since they don't check bags.
Nice I got to See all my friends from McCarthy's & the Blvd
Great hangout with family!, except that you cant cover full.
Everything is nice, from the exhihits, restaurants, seating and to the staff.
My 4* is because of the 4d theater, which is not worth wait. If you took the premium pass, don't waste ur time on this.
It was pretty fun actually! I totally recommend it for family fun :3
Had a great time visiting here. Exhibitions are nice but some are empty and could be more well-maintained.
Nice place to go! relaxing nature, free admission for NY id holders
The animals, kid's playing and their curiosity beautiful plus it's exciting
This was my first time to New York City and I arrived two hours prior to beat the traffic. Overall the zoo was set up so that you may get as close as possible as safely as possible. If you do not bring your own drinks I recommend getting a souvenir cup for $10.00 that you can refill for free all day rather than spending $34.00 on two beers and two water bottles as I quickly learned. This is a two day event, I did not see the entire zoo during my trip, it is by far the largest zoo I have ever been to. If you have children, the childrens zoo is worth while. Also, I would recommend getting a membership so that you do not have to keep paying as you go throughout the park, and keep it on your smart phone so you may show the employees at every station requiring additional payment. Have fun and enjoy.
Really good zoo, lots of great enclosures and habitats with a huge variety of different animals. There are lots of educational and interactive things to see and do. You can either buy the full experience tickets which includes more exhibits, animals, and fun things to do or you can do the general admission which is much cheaper (you can either buy a pass to certain exhibits or upgrade to fill experience later on). As someone who loves animals and learning as much as possible (and a previous zookeeper), it's pretty difficult to get to everything in one day. I'd suggest going as soon as it opens to view and interact with the full experience exhibits before it gets busy then wander through the zoo seeing everything else. We did go on a Saturday, so it was predictably busy. I wish there would be more staff/volunteers to keep people from disturbing the animals and to talk with the public about the animals in the habitats.
Place was clean and the animals were out. Took my boys and my dad. Were there for a dew hours and just enjoyed our time. Staff was friendltvsnd everyone wore masks. Hand sanitizer was displayed everywhere. Place was amazing and beautiful
Not so packed good social distancing had a great time
Takes two to three visits to see the entire zoo. It's huge, but such huge quantity of different animals. Learnt a lot.
Staff are very nice. Aside from the long walk, my kids had a great time.
Is a really big place, you have to go with a lot of time to see the great animals they have.
The staff is like surrogate parents, n the animals truly bond with them. The zoo is well managed, and the animals well taken care of, n well fed,Veitch particularly specified diets, n receive excellent care. Also, the facilities are well maintained, n the programs promote learning 4 all ages
Ok, so this is my 2nd time coming... Just very disappointed, feel like we are doomed to not have a Full on Zoo experience. Two years in a row, we make an effort to take a Family trip to the Bronx "Zoo" and besides the crappy weather, half More
Getting your walking g shoe ready lots of walking but the exhibit are awesome very authentic looking. Enjoy we did.
Super fun. Awesome layout, wide variety of animals. Your pass with 50% discount is a huge bargain
sept 10 2020: free on wednesday s get tickets on their website. $14.99 to add all the activities.
Many varieties of animals. Nice place to visit with the family. It's free on Wednesdays
And have a great trip. Friendly staff. clean environment.
The animals seemed high other than that it was a good experience
Fun! Go during busy season as most animals are out.
I really liked seeing all the animals close up and my little sibling also loved it at the children's zoo we didn't get to finish doing or seeing everything but we hopeful be back soon.
Best zoo ever. Need a full day ti explore it and be ready for a long walk
Very nice experience for kids and adults alike. Too bad we got there late.
A couple things were closed due to covid, but it was still good for 2 hours of entertainment. Some of the best atmospheres you can enjoy while at a zoo. Truly feel like you're in a jungle. One of the true places you can escape the sound of traffic without going underground. Only complaint was the price, but not a complete turn away
I love going through the winter or in the rain. Fewer people and cooler weather means more animal activity.
Fun fun and more fun, didn't like that parking was not included xx but had a super time,Go!!
Tickets are free on Wednesday! Nice place to visit. There are lot activities where you can participate such as camel riding, exploration, 3-D.
A great place to spend the weekend with family and friends. You would need a full day to view all the exhibits. Some of the exhibits have additional cost but with the total experience package you could enjoy everything. The atmosphere is like a rain forest. Animals have ample space to move and conditions are good for them.
place was great come on a wensday and its free all u have to remember is to budget time to park on the street
Great time as every time I go. The only bad thing is the parking is so far and they do not supply a tram to and from the far Woods parking or any parking for that matter also we paid for the upgraded pass on free Wednesdays and didn't find the service center until halfway throughout the day so we could not get a map and missed the bulk of the paid attractions. Other than that very friendly staff and fun environment just be prepared to walk a lot.
It truly is an experience every single time we go and what makes it more wonderful is being a member. No lines for us at every entrance, discounts on everything we purchase! Whether we go Monday through Friday or even the weekends and today we had young staff nothing but smiles and say have a wonderful or a great time and It made my day!
The family has already been twice this season. One time before the asian monorail opened and then opening day for the entire park. What a great trip this was. A great experience for families with all ages. It is recommended to buy the membership if you have a family and can make it there at least twice in a season. It pays for itself after just the second trip! If you have the membership you get all the extra exhibits that cost money for free, and yes they are the best ones. So many animals it's a great day trip but beware it can get costly if you need tickets, food, pay for all.exhibits (without membership) and need something at the gift shop at the end!
My favorite place to be. Especially this time of year. No crowds or lines. Spent 2 hours in my special spot...the Congo
Even in the age of COVID-19, the Bronx Zoo is a place for families to have fun. I suggest buying a membership with parking, two trips per year is more than your money's worth. That way you don't have to pay and you don't have to do the whole park in one shot. We'll definitely be going back.
Beautiful zoo with a lot of exhibits well worth the money. I can't wait to go back
Had an amazing time when I was here as a little kid. Will never forget the memories and the great ones that I had in here
I saw so much! The animals are amazing and it is a beautiful place...Come visit this zoo!!!
Parking is 17 dollars then they prices are 36.00 per person.
If you go on free day. You can not see anything
Place is over priced and place is packed all the time.
Just went recently and had a great time! Some parts of the zoo are closed due to the pandemic, but most of it was open. There's plenty to see in a day!
The zoo is large and have plenty of attractions for kids. If you plan to go more than once in a year, get the membership. It will pay for itself in 2 visits. Plus you don t have to worry about paying extra for parking and special attraction.
They have got range of wildlife, the best part is how they have tried to blend the habitat with the nature. The train journey was also nice experience. Highly recommended, specially if you are with kids.
A huge zoo with lots of exhibits. Bring your walking shoes because the subway is a about 4 blocks away and the layout of the zoo is just expansive.
Active animals, very clean, and lots to see here. When we went the brown bears were playing with pieces of a smashed pumpkin like a puppy. We've never seen anything like it.
Use your AAA member card for a discounted rate.
A great experience, and if you're not careful, you learn to appreciate nature and animals.
This was a beautiful zoo. The staff was very nice and always willing to help. I would recommend going when the weather is warmer because many animals were not out due to the cooler temperatures.
Really fun to check this place out after seeing the new TV series for it. The staff seem to really enjoy what they do, and taking great care of the animals is very important to them. The zoo allows viewing of many of the animals and has enough room for the animals while still allowing opportunity to see them.
Nice place. However, it is not the best zoo in the world.
I love going to the Bronx Zoo! My last visit was to the Brew at the Zoo event which is 21+, and a lovely after-hours beer tasting party at the zoo. There were a ton of food trucks, beer, cider, ale and wine vendors, DJs and no kids, lol! There were some exhibits open, and you have pretty much free reign of certain parts of the park to enjoy with a drink and good food. I'm looking forward to attending the Halloween event as it was a blast to see so many people, young and old, enjoying the zoo (and the zoo making so much $$$).
One of the best zoos. I hate seeing zoos that are cramped, so I like that the animals all seem to have adequate space to roam. I still hold a grudge against them for getting rid of the bat house, though, because it was the best. In addition to bats, it had other nocturnal animals, like sugar gliders and bush babies. Last time I was there they still had the signs up for it and I wandered around forever trying to find it... but it was not there :( Free admission (donation suggested) on Wednesday, which means that there are a LOT of kids there.
This is the best zoo on the east coast. Humane treatment of animals. Friendly and helpful staff. Great exhibits. Wednesdays are free, but it is really crowded, almost better to go on the weekends.
I love this place! The zoo is very big, I arrived at 11am and used up my time there till 5pm and only visited half of the places. I decided to buy the whole year pass to visit it more often. You can ride camel, which is awesome, but you need to pay for it. I also recommend the ice cream in the Cafeteria, the one that has super small ice cream bubbles, tasted good and interesting! More importantly, looks like animals there are living happy life, good for them. You can have a close interaction with animals, it's nice to be close to nature and the lovely creatures:)
It's a lot of animals to see, may not see all in one day, but it's a great place to take the family. I absolutely love the Bronx zoo
I love this place, but I don't know see sad animals
Exelent zoo my wife and team love the pleace, I Recomend. Thanks Bronx zoo for the frat experience!!
Best zoo in country. From kids to adults anyone will enjoy day spent here. Monorail is awesome ride
Fantastic zoo. Interactive exhibits, rides, and good food. Very clean park but typically crowded. Recommend!
Big, beautiful, conservation-focused zoo; if you're very determined it is possible to see every exhibit in one day.
Its a great place to distract yourself from everyday life and learn pleanty of ne things about animals
I love the Bronx zoo but I wish they would spend a little money and spruce the place up. My sons favorite place to go!
