It was a nice experience. The animals are well taken careoff. Loved the gorilas. Felt that there was not much enthusiasm amongst the zoo personal as all their resting areas and restaurants where closed. Got a little tired towards the end as Did get lost since not many signs or personal guiding you. May be some improvement in that area would help.

I never get to see the red pandas. But this one time, I got chased by some bird that escaped from their sanctuary. That's what I get for following the cute chub. Fun times. 10/10 would recommend.

great place for the family, animals seem well taken care of, food is not so great but that's the usual in these places, they have a Halloween fest every year with lots and lots of activities make sure you are there early in the morning or you wont have time to see it all, its so much fun, face painting, pumpkin carving, etc overall five stars.

It was a very nice zoo. Nice display of animals. The zoo was very clean and the staff was helpful. The animals appeared to be well taken care of. The only thing that I would recommend is more signs for parking to the lot. We were able to park on the street but almost got a parking ticket.

Overall, it was a great day trip. They say it is recommended 2 days to see everything, but we comfortably did it in one day.

Huge zoo! Did just about everything there and was a little disappointed in the dinosaur tour they had. It was less than 5 minutes. Luckily I got my tickets through work for a discounted price and it covered the cost of all of the extra things to do there.

This Zoo is just phenomenal. It is easy to navigate around, covered in trees so it didn t feel hot even when it was 96 degrees outside, very clean, has lots of restrooms and food spots and so on. The place is beautiful and the animals look happy. Really enjoy my time when I m here. Thanks to everyone who takes care of the animals and keeps this place the way it is.

The WCS runs one of the best zoos in the country here. Come early, because there's a lot to see. Wednesdays, general admission is free. There are several ticketed attractions and exhibits throughout the park. The monorail is definitely worth a visit, and the Congo is a must-have experience.

We love this zoo! I don t really know why we don t come more often. It s quite large and pretty well maintained. The grounds are pretty to walk around in in the Spring.

It can be quite expensive to visit but if you do some research there are ways to get discount on tickets. We got discounted tickets by signing up for a free membership through the IDNYC program. If you are a IDNYC card holder, you can sign up for a free one year membership. The membership gets you free admission and you can add on the Total experience package for discounted price of $17.

The Total Experience package gives you access to all of the add on attractions like the Butterfly Conservatory, Bug Carousel, the 4D theater, the Wild Asia Monorail and others. Otherwise, they cost an additional $6 each if you have an admission ticket.

The Wild Asia monorail was one of my favorite parts of the visit. It felt wonderful to just sit back and listen to the tour guide after walking all day. Every seat on the monorail has great views and the ride is approximately 20 minutes long. Another recommendation is the Dinosaur Safari which is only offered seasonally. It is a narrated ride through a small section of the zoo where they feature animatronic, life sized dinosaurs. My nephew, who is a dinosaur fan, loved this ride. The ride is only about 15 minutes long. During warmer weather, you can pay extra to ride the camels. Children ages 3 and above can ride. Also, they often have special events like Boo at Zoo or Holiday Lights.

Like I said, the zoo is huge and there s no way you can fit everything in one visit. We will definitely be back.

Tip: get a free membership when you show your IDNYC id card.

Tip2: every Wednesday is free to enter

Tip3: undergrad students who are enrolled in a NYC college gets free general admission when they show their student ID.

Unless you like hysterical children, you'll want to go on a cold, rainy day, when you have the huge place basically to yourself. If you manage that it is a quite extraordinary experience. I have seen better curated zoos, but not in the US.

So pretty much they put way less work into the Halloween event then last year.More stingy with the candy trail and told people the amount of candy they can get. Making the children count it so it took really long to get through the 4 or 5 stations they offered. The parade I liked but everything just looked and felt half way done...I guess to me it just felt like this event was done at last minute...

Amazing experience. Expensive, but very well designed for both a "exotic animal" experience, but also an outdoor, naturalistic feel. Requires a good deal of walking and many features cost additional money. Long and wide paths do make it feel less crowded. Wish we could go more often! I hear it's free on Wednesdays?

The Bronx Zoo is a gem in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the Bronx. There's plenty of parking, just be patient during the busy times of year. Also, be careful which day you visit on and check their website. They open the doors free of charge on certain days and it can get to be a zoo in there (I had to). Beyond that there a dozens of activities to keep the whole family entertained.
